Best online training - video tutorials

Although I have seen some threads earlier on the training programs but just thought get a latest update from the forum members.
Please suggest me a best online site that has the best tutorial (video tutorials)to learn FCP. And also cheap like lynda.com. I am looking for mainly a video tutorial rather than the book version.
thanks all

Hey Jim
Google is such a basic thing anybody would do, I was hoping to get advice from experienced seniors on the subject and not to teach me how to google.
All the site you identify in google may not be too good, before you enroll somewhere and loose money I wanted to make sure.
You dont have to term 'google' under your initiatives...even a baby these days would google. I already have a long list of sites with me after doing a google research for over a week.
If you really have used those sites please suggest but try to proove your intelligence here, I didn't force you to give me the reply.
Finally please keep in mind, dont expect everybody who posts here is a dumb or fool

Is there any available online training or tutorials for Oracle 9iAS Release 2 that we can download? I checked the FAQ for release 2 and it looks like there are a lot of changes in building pages, content areas and portlets.
    Thanks.

We'll probably start to release this kind of stuff between the launch and Oracle World Copenhagen - June 02
Currently we have not published any online training materials.

  • Best online training for FCP X

I'm looking for good online training for FCP X 10.1.2
For me it's important that you get training videos that are updated (and not show e.g. FCP 10.0).
I'd also like to have access to some exercises, but not documentary material (which is not my thing), but exercises for movies, TV, and story-oriented shorts.

My degree is educational psychology, I've been teaching FCP since version 4, been teaching all of the Final Cut Studio apps since FCS2, been teaching apps for various software companies for 3 decades.  Here's my professional evaluation.
The "Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro X, Professional Post-Production" by Brendan Boykin is hands down the BEST book on the market.  The eBook version has been updated to version 10.0.2, also.  If you purchase the eBook version from Peachpit Press, you get the EPUB, PDF, and MOBI versions all together, and the updates for the EPUB are free.
Online, the best training will be Ripple Training, by far.

  • Best CS4 online training

    Hi everyone,
I am new to CS4 but have just purchased photoshop, dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc...because I want to create a website from scratch.
I have built websites before using front-end applications but have never had full access to the source code on my PC.
I have quite a bit of HTML knowledge, but I am an absolute beginner at CS4 products.
I have used some of the training videos on this website but I find they aren't quite enough for an absolute beginner; there are missing pieces and I find it hard to put it all together given my limited knowledge.
Can anybody recommend good online training resources for beginners? I have looked at www.linda.com but I'm not sure how much better it would be to pay $375.00 per year for access to the training videos when many of the same vidoes are available on the adobe website free.
I would greatly appreciate any recommendations
    thanks

I have yet to be impressed with any one training program that does it all.  Photoshop and Illustrator are sophisticated graphics apps.  Dreamewaver is a sophisticated Web authoring tool.  That said, if you have a good knowledge of HTML and CSS and how these two things work together in the various browser, you are 75% ahead on the "DW learning curve."   There are many on-line tutorials to help you.  A Google search for tutorials in PhotoShop and Illustrator will reveal many sites.
Don't bite off more than you can chew at a time.  Focus on one application.  When that starts to gel, move on to the others. Following are links to web-related sites that you should reference and bookmark.

  • Looking for Best Program to Create Online Training Lessons

I'm looking to purchase some software to create online
training lessons. The lessons would consist of screen shots, dialog
boxes, narration, possibly animation. Given that Captivate has
Flash, I'm hopeful that it would do the trick and be somewhat
user-friendly given that I'm not a programmer. If there are other
Adobe products or products made by another company that you could
recommend, I'd be in your debt.
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you're creating software training, I agree Captivate is
    the best tool
around. A close second for that type of training is Camtasia.
    They both
can output to SWF. Captivate can also output to .FLA for
    editing in
Flash directly (and version 2.0 supposedly handles this a lot
    better
than 1.0). I'm not sure if Camtasia can export to .FLA...
If your training courseware may extend beyond software,
    perhaps into
things like process or conceptual training, Authorware may be
    a better
solution. However as it's a much more fully-featured, true
    'authoring'
program, the learning curve is a bit steeper.

  • Online Videos/Tutorials/Overviews ...?

    Good Morning,
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
In the near future my organisation will be making the switch to CS6 (currently CS5.5).
My role currently as a Graphic Designer means I tend to to use mainly Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.  I am hoping my role will be extended to overseeing use of our various users of CS throughout the organisation.
With this in mind, I feel the need to get a better grasp of what all of the components of CS can do and their main functions.
Can anyone advise of any online videos/tutorials etc which give a run through of the applications within CS and perhaps after that, one's which go into a bit more detail on each application.  I know I won't be able to master them all (not that I've mastered any really!), but it would be really helpful to my case for the new role.
    Thank you in advance!

  • Flash Training Videos ?

I just would like to know why training videos like the ones
on Lynda.Com for Adobe Products are in Apple Quicktime format and
not In Adobe Flash format ?
Thank for any infomation you can give me.
    Scott

    Scott,
    > I just would like to know why training videos like the
    ones
    > on Lynda.Com for Adobe Products are in Apple Quicktime
    > format and not In Adobe Flash format ?
    I don't work for Lynda.com, but I have a hunch.
Lynda.com has been producing training videos for a
    looooooong time.
Back in the day, before Flash video became so popular,
    QuickTime was (I'd
say) the best way to deliver video on CDs and over the
    Internet. So they
built QuickTime into their production workflow ... and there
    you have it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
That's just a wild guess. Of course, it simply be that they
    prefer
QuickTime over FLV, just like someone prefers Coke over
    Pepsi, or vice
versa. They also produce tutorials for Microsoft Office, and
    those videos
are also done in QuickTime, as opposed to, say, Windows Media
    (WMV) files.
Should they use the video format of whatever company owns
    the software
    they're training on? ;)

  • QuickTime flickering during Video Tutorials?

When I am watching the Video Tutorials for any of Apple products my QT flickers dark and light, not to the point where I can't see the video, but to the point where it is annoying. Anyone else having this problem? This is on a 4 day old new MacBook. I have the most recent version of QT installed.
Anyone else having the same issue?

MACBOOK QUICKTIME VIDEO PLAYBACK FLICKER ISSUE
Well, this is the first time I have been so far out on the front end of a new problem with a new computer purchase, so I guess I have the responsibility of raising the "noise level" on this defect. I certainly want a "fix" sooner rather than later.
After speaking to a relatively nice guy at Apple (Steve H.) last week, I did extensive diagnostics on my own, and sent a VERY long email to Apple explaining the problem in great detail providing information pertinent to engineers (along with affected video samples) in addition to sending in a "data capture file" of my new MacBook's status.
I later found out my diagnostic email was not forwarded to the engineers because of questions they sent back to me, indicating that they never got the detailed report after viewing my data capture logs.
Today I spoke with "Catilin" - not an engineer - (apparently the engineers are insulated from speaking voice to voice with customers). Caitlin informed me that since I did a clean install of the OS before one of my tests, that is proof that my video files are corrupt and there is no defect. When I then asked if it is possible that Apple could ship a faulty product, she answered, "No."
Sigh... where are the scientists of the world when you need them?
Anyway, for those of you out there with the problem, I will not post my long detailed report here. We all seem to be experiencing the same issues anyway. I just wanted to confirm that you are not alone, and apparently not a small number. When customer service tells you that you are the first person they have heard of with this problem (as they are mostly saying now), know that it means nothing. There are a lot of customer service people, and even widespread problems take time to be common knowledge among support staff.
Please make sure you tell customer service that this is a KNOWN ISSUE among users. Dozens of people are certainly contacting Apple about this problem now, but they have not yet issued an internal memo so that all customer service personnel are aware of it.
I will attach the latest email I just sent to Steve H., who just left me a cryptic voice mail message explaining how we should use third party software to play back videos and how we should use easily obtainable online apps to convert our video clips to other formats that might not be affected by the defect.
Please note that I am not trying to be negative about Apple here, but it would seem from my communications so far, only the engineers (scientists) are open to evaluating this problem rationally, and unfortunately I am currently forced to speak to the engineers through the filter of "not so highly intellectual or scientifically trained" customer service persons.
So, please spread the word when you call Apple and make sure they are aware that you have read about this problem from other Apple customers online.
I am tired of this issue and do not have another 20 hours to invest. I hope someone else will take a turn moving this problem forward with Apple and post your results here. Maybe if we work aggressively in shifts on this thing, someone in a position to do something at Apple will finally hear about it.
    Steve,
I did not understand your voice mail.
What do you mean by, "There is not really much more we can do on this."?
Incidentally, it affects more than MPEG 1 files, as is evident in the detailed email I sent to you.
Did you mean to say, there is not much more you can do about it now, but it is being worked on?
Is it Apple's official position that this defect will not be resolved and we must always use third party software to play standard video clips (as suggested in your message), instead of using Apple's defective software shipping with MacBooks?
I must assume you misspoke in your email message.
Did you mean to say to use other programs and convert videos to other formats in the interim while Apple's engineers work on a correction?
Has it already been determined that all new Macbooks have the problem, or only some?
Obviously, if it is only some, I need to return mine to get a MacBook that does not have this defect/conflict/ or whatever it is.
I hate to say this, but as is evident by your just received voice mail and you not being aware of the different affected video formats I wrote about in great detail before, you are apparently another technical support person to go down in history as not paying close attention to an important and detailed diagnostic email before replying.
It is doubly surprising to see this behavior in you, when in my earlier email I went out of my way to explain and warn against this all too common and bizarre phenomenon of customer service persons not paying attention to helpful diagnostic email before replying to the treasured customers who went out of their way to prepare and send such email.
I can't keep working for Apple for free on this issue, especially when I am not receiving coherent responses to my testing and kind diagnostics work.
Please consider me retired from the "MacBook Development and Leopard Beta Testing Team", until such time as it is decided to compensate me adequately for my generously donated time.
Fix it, tell me to exchange for another unit, or tell me the problem has been acknowledged and it is being worked on. Or reiterate one last time that it will not be fixed (as you suggested in your last message) and I will know I must return the defective computer and consider other options in life.
I have no more time for any other responses from you.

Is this an intranet site?  Did you inherit this mess?  I don't mean to be rude or sarcastic but this code is terrible. I'm amazed that this is being used on a dot GOV server.  I suppose if the public can't see it, it doesn't matter to the FAA that this site is a web accessibility and maintenance nightmare.  100+ redundant .styles on a single web page.  That has to be a new record.   If this site were in my charge, I'd recommend a total rebuild.

  • Web Design and Developer Online Training Library

    HI There,
I purchased CS4 Design premium back in September with the hope of learning all of the software and specifically to design websites through online tutorials and or books.  I've done many of the training videos at lynda.com, and although they are great, I feel I need more structure.
That being said, I've been looking into online courses on web design, and most of the decent ones I've found are in the $5000-$7000 range, and although I'm willing, I'd rather not spend that much money if I can help it.
Has anyone tried the Web Design and Developer Online training Library offered through Adobe.com?
Has anyone taken any (relatively inexpensive) worthwhile courses?
Right now I have a mish-mash set of skills with dreamweaver photoshop and illustrator.  I can build websites but 90% of my time is spent on trial and error.  I want to have a firm understanding of the programs.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated
    thanks very much
