Best PC & Mac Standard for Flash 8

Hello all. The newspaper that I am working for is looking to
put together output standards. We use Flash 8 both on PC and Mac
for encoding of our videos. We have reporters and photographers
using both PC's for editing (Sony Vegas for example) and Mac (Final
Cut Pro and iMovie). We want to develop uniform standards to feed
into Flash 8 for video encoding. What are the best standards for PC
(Windows Media?) Mac (QuickTime H264? Any suggestions on the size
of the frame and the frame rate? All input would be greatly
appreciated.

Always try to encode flv's (and all other formats) from an
uncompressed source, that will result in a good encoding quality.
On a windows system output your source material as an mpeg or
avi (no divx codecs), on a Mac, use .mov with the animation codec
set at a high quality.

what does oracle suggest as a naming schema for tables , fields , views. indexes , tablespaces , ... If you look at the data dictionary you will see that not even Oracle keeps rigidly to any specific standard, although there are tendencies :)

Best software/update suggestions for Flash design

We are interested in implementing flash into our web design, but I'm a little confused as to which product to
actually purchase/upgrade to in order to create and run it. We currently have CS2 and DreamweaverMX2004. Should we
purchase Adobe Flash, upgrade to CS4 which has some features in it, or upgrade to the latest DW? Any suggestions?

Im my opinion... In the long run I think you would be better off upgrading to the Creative Suite 4 Design Premium or Web Premium, depending on what other software you use. I would lean toward the Design Premium.

Industry standard for alloting Flash Development time

Does anyone the industry standard for the time it takes for
Flash development in general. In other words, How much developement
time does it take to do one minute of flash animation. For example,
with video and motion graphics, it's one hour of editing time to
accomplish one minute of edited video.
Is there a similiar industry standard for Flash development?
Obviously, there are variations in the how robust the
animations are, how interactive they are, and how complicated the
code is...but I'm really just looking for a general rule of thumb
for professional Flash developement..

Word is the nearest thing to a standard format in the Humanties, but in the sciences and math you'll find Tex more useful for laying out formulas. The older Pages is quite good as a substitute for Word in many cases in the Humanties, but you'll have big problems with citations in the newer version. Apps like Nisus Writer Pro and Mellel are more powerful than Pages, but each have shortcomings. Scrivener and Ulysses are excellent drafting tools but you'll need a Word Processor for final layout. There are lots and lots of lightweight editors out there - Byword, iaWriter (and Writer Pro), OmmWriter - that have little functional use in Academic settings - poor or no support for citations for instance, or poor or no interoperability with Word - but which might be excellent for other uses.
So, back to the key question: what kind of writing will you be doing?

because, it is not only a 'grabber', but it includes an 'editor', drop-dead-simple as iMovie, which includes many features ESPECIALLY made for tutorials - e.g. you can zoom-in after recording without quality-loss, you can change cursor-size, highlite, 'print' pressed keys on screen, add a pic-in-pic (if you like your face in your tuts ) ..
side-note: screen-grabs are off the standards, iM or FinalCut/express support! so, a built-in editor is a ++ ! (the exports/uploads from a SF-project are superb!)

Where is the Clean Install file for Flash Player for Mac?

The troubleshooting for Mac Install of Flash Player suggests that one uninstall and then perform a clean install. I believe that this has also been referred to as an "offline" installer. When one clicks on the the link to the clean install, one obtains the dreaded "404", File not Found error. Does anyone know where one can find the clean install file. The standard update almost never, ever works on my 2009 PowerMac, now running Yosemite. Would someone please suggest to the folks running the Adobe website that it would be nice to have a working link to such a file. This issue has come up before. Would someone also suggest that before any new update is unleashed upon the world that someone make sure that the "Clean Install" link is linked to a download of a "Clean Install" installer?

Typing style effect for Flash 8 mac

I have flash 8 on a g5 mac.
I'm looking for something that will give me a typing or
old-style computer terminal effect for text on a page I'm building.
I'd rather not to all of it by hand with masks if I can avoid it.
I payed for and downloaded Red Giants "Text FX" program,
which does do this. But then I found out it doesn't support Flash 8
on the mac... Bummer.
Anyone know of another good add-on for Flash 8 on the mac
that will do this effect for me?

Upgrading Acrobat XI Standard for Windows to XI Pro for Mac

I recently purchased a SnapScan Scanner that came with a full version of Acrobat XI Standard for Windows. I have a Mac, and as Adobe doesn't make a Standard for Mac, I'm wondering if it's possible to upgrade to Pro using the serial number I already have rather than purchase a whole new version. Is this doable? I attempted to use the serial number in the Pro download and it wouldn't take.

Best 2013 Mac for Pro Video Production with FC Pro X?

We run a small video production company and it's time to upgrade. What is the best current Mac configuration and product for video production. I have a 2013 Macbook Pro that is maxed out but I get choked down by the video card when doing more than 3 multi-cams.
So we need some systems that can handle more cam views and that speeds up produciton.

I recently took possession of a new Mac Pro (8-core) and it's obvious that it "was made" for FCPX. Unbelievable performance. FCP7...oh well, it works as well as could be expected, but no miracles. It's an old app that doesn't benefit from all the cores and memory, but still my standard.
