Best PDF reader on iPhone ?

Hi, maybe my question will sounds stupid, but I was wondering which PDF reader would you recommend for iPhone ?
Currently I am using evernote with PDF files saved as notes, but it's not easy to jump to a specific page within the document for instance...
Thanks in advance for your feedback and advice

  • Best PDF reader for iPad2?

Is there a PDF "reader" app for the iPad which will allow you to 1. search for a specific word (or words) and 2. allow you to copy text from a PDF?

I would recommend ReaddleDocs for iPad, works great on my iPad, support full txt search, and easy navigation across pages, and lightning quick.

But if for free, iBook is cool too!

  • The Best pdf reader out there

    Hi Guys,
There are many free pdf readers out there in the market...adobe reader being the dominant one...still, many people just do not use adobe reader because of the blot...it is slow...is heavy...download size is big and then there are too many update pop ups....
so, which pdf reader would you choose? (I have been using foxit reader..and find it very good...stable...and fast..)

It all depends on your individual usage.
If you want to view/print simple PDF files, Foxit would probably be fine (spyware aside).
If you want to view and interact with more advanced PDF's (3D, commenting...etc), then Adobe Reader would be a better choice.
Basically, there is no overall better reader that would fit all situations.

  • Best PDF reader around

    Hi guys,
I have had a look (internet and iTunes only) at some PDF readers for the iPad. Like PDF reader, Fast PDF, Goodreader. Unfortunately I have not seen them all in a landscape, 2 page action yet.
Which PDF reader would you guys recommend? How well does it display 2 page landscape? Like iBooks?
    Thanks a lot.

Although goodreader does a poor job in landscape it does allow actual use of TOC and index and links within the PDF. It also fills in holes that exist in the actual ipad related to data sharing and application integration.
I need to have another look at the others I removed to see if landscape is any good.

  • Best pdf reader for turning pages quickly?

    Hi there,
I'm about to buy an iPad, and one of my primary uses will be to hold and view sheet music for a vocal group I'm in. (The idea of going to rehearsal without a giant, heavy stack of sheet music...is genius.) I've read a lot of reviews of pdf readers on the iPad, and I know that iBooks allows you to read them as well, but I'm looking for the best app that will allow me to neatly organize my sheet music files in folders and subfolders, but most importantly have a fast page-loading time...it would defeat the purpose if we're reading along in the music and the next page doesn't load right away!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I use goodreader, which is fairly good, and alows for folder creation.
In my quick, unscientific test, just now with a 60+ page pdf with lots of graphics in it, if you spend more than a second or two on a single page, the next one displays right away. If you try to swipe through a bunch in a row, really fast, you get the checkerboard pattern until the new page loads.
AS you are looking at sheet music, this would work as you would definately be staying on a single page for a 1/2 minute or more (dpeending on the tempo of course).
I would still google for sheet music apps that might be more of what your looking for. A coworker (thats left for the weekend already) has sheet music on his ipad and I can ask on Monday what he prefers.
    Till then
    Jason

  • PDF reading on iPhone

How can I open a PDF document on my iPhone?  I use to be able to open them, but now they download(visual indicator) but do not display.
I've downloaded the Adobe reader, but the document still does not display.

Thnx ( also @nick101): ad1) I'll take Goodreader, then -- ad 2) what I was relating to: when simply clicking on a pdf-attachment ( eg: of an email), it is a) displayed already with the ( suggestive) icon of PrintCentral - then, when clicking on it, on my configuration a pop-up offers 3 options ( obviously 3 other apps, which have this capability: +iBooks, Stanza, and PrintCentra+l, +GoodReader (lite)+ is not displayed as an option - so I thought , that somehow/somewhere these choice are configurable-- 3) in OTHER words. how do I then "force" GoodReader to be my choice for all ( it's appears to me, that if I transfer any doc by WiFi or such to my iPhone/iPad), I can choose the reader, of course; email attachments ma be a different case -? ) - Comment again appreciated

  • Best pdf reader

    Hi all,
I love iBooks for the fact that I can select a word and either look up the definition or search the web or search Wikipedia. But a big drawback for me is that you can not highlight in a PDF document. And who knows when Apple will update this App.
Does anyone know of a PDF viewer that has all these features. I have tried some that do highlighting such as Acrobat Reader for the ipad but does not have the dictionary feature and I am not sure about the same type of bookmark feature.
    Thanks,
    John Gerard

I use PDFPen by Smile Software.

You can annotate, sign, or highlight PDFs very easily.  They have apps for the iPhone, iPad, and your Mac, and you can sync your devices through iCloud or Dropbox so each document is on every device.  Highly recommended.

  • Shouldn't a PDF reader on mobile devices by Adobe be the best?

I would have thought that of all the apps on mobile devices that can read and display PDF documents a PDF Reader by Adobe would be the best one out there. Instead it seems little better than average. It is still the best one I have found but... As I have looked through the list of discussions on this forum it looks like many topics have gone unanswered. And those that have been answered only a few responses are given. What is going on with the development?
Tagged PDF documents work okay on my Samsung Galaxy tab but I want to be able to do more with PDF documents than just open and read them.
Use bookmarks to navigate easily through a document
Use hyperlinks to navigate easily through a document
When I'm prepareing to teach a lesson I typically add notes in the margins and highlight text in the hard copy of the lesson manual. I would like to do the same in the PDF version of the manual.
One small advantage of a PDF document over epub is when when I tell someone or someone tells me to go to a certain page in book or manual or lesson book to follow along nothing work better than a PDF.
I was told recently that folks in another country use an iOS or Android device to view our PDFs more so than desktop units. So where is the development going with Adobe Reader for Android for example? At the rate technology changes these days it doesn't seem like anything is really moving forward.

This new version is much better. Thanks to the everyone working on the best PDF reader out there. So far as I have tested it on my Galaxy Tab it works fine except for one freeze up. I even installed it on my wife's iPad and she seems to be impressed. This is a big and for me long awaited improvement. Thanks Dov for giveing my patience level a boost. Now I just have to play around with it some more and see what needs to be tweeked and added.

  • What is the best way to find what version of PDF Reader from Adobe is installed on a windows OS?

    Hi,
I am developing a .Net App in which i want to find which version of PDF Reader from Adobe is installed on an Windows OS.
It can be any of the software
    Adobe Reader
    Adobe Acrobat X Pro
    or any other.
    How to find out?

The best way would be to find and query the AcroRd32.exe executable. The file version information is stored in the executable itself.
There are lots of places in the registry that you could also potentially access relevant information.
    For example the uninstall string:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Contains a string that you could use to search for the application version.
How you would do this in .NET I'm not sure but you would use some kind of text search command to search for the relevant text and then use "if exists" condition.

my email don't read pdf files in iphone 5 s - HELP

Yup, restarted my system. First thing I did was open Firefox and try to open a .pdf.

  • Set Adobe Reader iPad/iPhone app to just view pdf instead of downloading it?

    Hello,
I work for a financial company and it seems that some of our user's were having trouble viewing a pdf document that contained editable text boxes.  The layout of the form itself would show, but none of the text within the text boxes would appear.  So I tested the pdf out on my phone as well and did the same exact thing (layout shows, but no text).   Since everyone was having trouble viewing the text within the document, I downloaded the Adobe Reader App and it worked perfectly.  The only issue that I have is that since we are a financial institution, we get audited quite often and having documents stored on your phone is a big 'no-no' to the auditors.  So I was wondering if it was possible to make the Adobe Reader App just view the pdf instead downloading the pdf to the application and storing it in the docs and the recent docs setting.  A little more info on our part:   We are running Exchange 2010, my iPhone is a 4S and it's running the ios7, and the iPad is running ios 6.1.03 (I think).  Also, I did a little bit of searching but I could find anything but is there some sort of list that will say what does/does not work in regards to pdf's on iPhones or iPads?  Any suggestions/help is very welcome and appreciated!
    Thanks,

Hi Shradha and thank you for that information.  Now is that only in regards to the Adobe Reader app or does that copy expand to all current pdf viewer apps on iOS?  If it is only in regards to the Adobe Reader app, then do you know of an app that may have the functionality that I am looking for?  I have tried searching for one, but I have been unsuccessful in my searches.
    Thanks,

  • 9i Standard Ed has "functional index"?

According to Oracle White Paper "Oracle9i Database Product Family", 9i SE has "functional index" feature. But V$OPTION in a complete 9i SE installation tells otherwise. Anyone knows why? Also, "Managed Standby" is not available in 9i SE either.
