Best phone #..

What number is the best # to call if I am having issues with iTunes reading my iPod Touch, (on Windows XP). I've tried almost everything that has been suggested to me (but if you have a suggestion, let me know.. I'll try it again), and nothing has worked, and I just want it to work. My iPod Shuffle and Nano work.. just not the iPod Touch..
Thanks.

you could also try the apple support # (can't seem to find it),Have you tried connecting your ipod touch to a different computer, and if so, did iTunes read it?
And yes, since the iPod touch and iPhone basically run the same software they should be able to help you
Edit: just found a phone # for ipod support, 1-800-APL-CARE

  • Switching to AT&T Cingular - best phone for use with Mac and iSync

    Dear Friends,
I am finally about to be free from Sprint's poor customer service. I will be switching to AT&T / Cingular. (Not quite ready to buy an iPhone, but don't want to be locked into a 2 year contract with another provider).
I want to use Apple's iSync. I have reviewed the list of compatible devices and scanned the forums for related topics.
    I'm still left wondering:
What is the best phone to get with AT&T for use with iSync?
I would like to sync contacts both ways. If possible, syncing cal events and to-dos would be nice, but not as important as contacts.
I prefer small flip phones. I don't plan to buy the Media pack service that includes text, web, etc. Instead, I will use the phone for calls and occassional text messages.
Sound quality and the ease of use are the most important features for me. I prefer raised keys to the flat keypads, but could give on this if need be.
Finally, using the phone as a modem with my laptop would be nice, but is not essential.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer.
    David

I am facing the exact same question regarding, e.g., the Nokia 6126. There are several references:
    1. Go to the Nova Media web site and look at their new product, Fone Link. Or their iSynch Plugins
    2. One of the forum threads references, http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060915154526806
    3. Another link I found http://soapbox.co.nz/past/2007/4/9/nokia-6126-and-isync-revisited/
But what I don't yet understand is whether or not any of these suggestions/solutions are affected by the carrier. My understanding is that the 6126 is the North America Version of the 6131. But I talked to ATT/Cingular support yesterday and they make some modifications to the phone software. They don't know if the ATT 6126 will synch with a Mac. Of course they know the answer if synching with a PC (!!)

  • Current best phone to purchase with Syncing in mind?

    Hey everyone,
I was looking at the Motorola RAZR and the Motorola KRZR phones as a replacement for my T-Mobile MDA, which is getting a bit bulky...
I figured before I splurged on a unlocked phone, what's currently the best slim phone (similar to the RAZR or KRZR) on the market that syncs with OSX? It's alright if I have to edit some files manually, I'm fairly proficient when it comes to root access and using vim. =)
I'd love to have a phone that syncs the address book photos, and hopefully the phone will allow for more than a single phone number per entry (which may take the RAZR out of contention!). I'm very meticulous about my Address Book and would love to have a phone that can keep up with me in that aspect...
I'm moving away from the MDA simply because I've come to the realization that I don't need a PDA today, as much as when I originally purchased the device... I'll probably keep it as a backup phone though...
    Any advice is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ricky

Thanks for the feedback... I did look at the isync device list, but I wanted everyone else's opinion as to the best phone.. There's a lot to read inbetween the lines on that list!
I think I'm going with a Sony W810i. I have to get it off of EBAY, but I'm sure I can sell my MDA to make up the difference...
I'll let everyone know how well it works when I get it in next week..

In particular, note the "Configurations" table at the
bottom of the page. Basically, smartphones are the
only devices that sync the Address Book photos.
However, smartphone = phone + PDA in once device, and
you stated you don't need a PDA... so you'll have to
    decide.
If you're looking for a stupidphone, and want the
best iSync functionality, you need a Sony Ericsson
    phone with Bluetooth.
Motorola phones are extremely limited in terms of
iSync. You can have multiple #'s per contact - kind
of - by changing the view options in the phone's
address book from "all" to "primary."

  • The best expense app for the best phone?

    Hi guys,
I still haven't gotten an iPhone because I use Palm and I can't be without PocketQuicken (Not a palm app, rather a 3rd. party app) it takes care of all of my expenses on the road and then syncs them with Quicken on my Mac, I get to know in real time anywhere how much money I have or how much credit I still have on a credit card, it can also keep my monthly budget. It's ideal for traveling business men or for people who like to know where there money is or has gone to.
Please Apple, invite the people at http://www.landware.com/pocketquicken/ to make an internal app for the iPhone, so that the best phone would have the best expense program out there. Thus giving something very useful to the iphone users. It's the only thing stopping me from getting an iPhone. I have many, believe me! many 3rd. party apps in my Treo, but the only one that I can't live without is this one. Please consider it. Thanks!

Something that I left out is that it can also be a standalone app no need to have quicken in the Mac, it can fully do the expenses and much more on it's own. And the best part is that it wouldn't interfere with any of the phone's features, like WiFi or anything like that so no harm would come from making it an internal app.

  • THe BEST phone I ever had....Nokia 1100 - Nokia, p...

I have just had to pay SILLY money for a Nokia 1100 - the BEST phone I ever had.  PLEASE, Nokia, re-release this excellent phone....for me, what's done is done, but, please make this phone available for others...I cannot reccomend the Nokia 1100 HIGHLY ENOUGH.  The fact that people are now sheling out £££ speaks vulumes....
Here is my Amazon review for this EXCELLENT phone....
"I am someone who likes things exactly so. For a lot of things, basic doesn't do it for me.
For example, I won't use anything but the highly customisable Firefox (with Adblock Plus, Noscript, Stylish and Social Fixer add-ons), to get the web just the way I want.
You know what? As far as mobiles go, this IS just the way I want already.
    Here are the reasons...
    * Simple and easy to use
    * Old style monochrome viewer, with a backlight, which means that, unlike basically every other phone on the market, whatever the time of day...indoors, outdoors, day, night, the display is always - ALWAYS easy to read.
    * It has a 'Loud' profile. As someone who is slightly hard of hearing, this means that I absolutely always hear when someone rings me or texts me.
    * Unlike a lot of other phones, the alarm clock is loud enough to actualy wake me up.
    * Rounded keys...meaning that I don't struggle to type someone's number.
    * Durable. I have had this model for over 5 years, in that time, it's been on the roof of a car that's driven off, falen on concrete from 10 foot, been with me when I've fallen over drunk countless times, and who knows what else...and it still works perfectly.
    * Long battery life. I only have to charge it once every 12-14 days.
    * It's basic, so won't get nicked. It's fallen out of my pocket in pubs, clubs and at a party, and I've always had it back.
Three times, I have 'upgraded' when I've been flush, and three times, I've come back to my trusty Nokia 1100.
I cannot rate this phone highly enough. Shame on Nokia for discontinuing it..."

As far as what people want from phones nowadays is concerned...I accept that, but, there are plenty f us out there who want a phone to be - A PHONE - it's not rocket science. I spand ages online - but, through my PC - where I can see hings properly, and with Firefox add-ons, Adblock Plus and Noscript, I'm safer than safe, and don't get to see any capitalist rubbish. Also, the fact that prices for the Nokia 1100 are rising, and rising rapidly...that, to me, suggests something...myself, I've bought a second one just as a backup...my first one lasted me well over a decade before I lost it...so, I reckon these wil last me well into my life...

  • Nokia E52 BEST Phone ever used, but come on Nokia ...

    Hi there,
    Nokia plz listen,
The Nokia E52 is the best phone i have owned, in fact it is one of the few phones I bought directly from Nokia rather than via contract etc. Perfect SIze, excellent build quality, good screen, oodles of features, great battery and the best feature is the great well set out keypad.
The E52 is now getting on 2-3 years old, and although its great to use with the nice weighted keys, screen and features, I wish Nokia would bring out a newer E52 with a few subtle upgrades which I am sure will get Nokia sales back up to where they should be.
Most businesses still prefer keypad phones than touchscreen, and the E52 is a massive hit in the UK for example.
Nokia, add some features like this to new E52 successor:
    1) Joystick navigation should be the same but with touchpad controls (same as E72)
    2) Faster CPU- e52 feels sluggish
    3) More memory
    4) SYmbian seems to no longer be supported, so not sure if a newer symbian or WM/Android software is needed.
    5) DO NOT make it touchscreen, I want a phone that has a good battery and does not need charging everyday like Touchscreen phones.
    6) Better camera with autofocus features.
Nokia, this is the perfect phone, just add the above features and the people who still love keypad phones will come to buy the handset, I know I would....
Does Nokia even read these forums and feedback to the developers?
Anyone else share the same view?

Yes I am also waiting for a successor of my E52.
I had an E51 before and now the 52 .... both the best phones for my kind of usage.
As many others I tried touch-phones but it just does not feel 'right' for me. I know it is up
to taste but I like to have a telephone, if you know what I mean. Also phones like the Iphone
etc. do not have any kind of 'want-to-have' effect on me, and it might be by (a big?) part that I
associate these phones more and more with 16y old teens using them ... well actually
the biggest part of the grown-ups seem to want to do the same
Sadly the market for businesslike 'real' phones is becoming smaller and smaller. I still like
my E52 a lot but I would like to see some changes on my wish-successor.
    - As mentioned: Better processor. All programs should start fast. Menus pop up instantly etc.
-Would love a phone like this with a high-res display, 640*320 .... with a deep dark. One is allowed to dream ;-)
    - Keypad-light done more sophisticated build, maybe single led for the different keys, well I am no
    ingenieur.
-Scroll-Pad: I'd like a scroll function like in a blackberry. Could be useful with Emails, websites etc.
    - Better OS: I know this will be the killer for that phone as Symbian will only go so far anymore and
sadly everything new developed is touch centered. I do not know how far Windows Phone etc. could be
    incorporated.
Well ... let's see what will come in the future

  • What's the best phone app to use on iPad for uk users to make calls with

I know there's a few apps out there to use and make phone calls with, but which is the best one for uk users/callers.
I would prefer not to use Skype but if that's the best on the market, that's what I will use.
As you can probably guess I'm new to the iPad, so all the help I get is appreciated loads.

Cheers for that, looks like I will have to use Skype then. Unless someone else comes up with an answer.

  • Best phone for whatsapp? [And cheap!]

I own a Nokia Asha 201(qwerty) which came with a whatsapp, but I couldn't use it because it caused the internet to always be on. It doesn't have the option to switch the internet off, due to which I had to get rid of whatsapp. Otherwise I didn't really have any problems with this. I didn't really think not having whatsapp would be a problem, but since everyone's basically breathing through the app, there are so many things that aren't really easy for people who don't have it or can't use it.
So my main question is, what are the best Nokia QWERTY phones(if there are better non qwerty phones, please do suggest them as well) for whatsapp that allows you to switch the internet off? Wifi doesn't really matter either.
My budget is Rs.4,500. It would be best if it's under Rs.4,000, though.

In a Nokia Series 40 phone like the Nokia 210 with disabled mobile data, WhatsApp continues to try to go online which drains the battery. In a Symbian/S60 phone like the Nokia E6 or Nokia 700, WhatsApp can be disabled via LeStartStop and CloseWhatsApp. Windows Phone is outside of your price range. Mhm. What about enhancing your contract to include a small data volume?

  • Best phone for Sync-ing with iCal?

I'm due to upgrade my mobile and wondered which is the best available handset for Sync-ing with a mac. At present I have the Sony Ericson K750i which was working fine up until I upgraded to Tiger.
    Any ideas?

Has anybody had any experience syncing the Motorola
    KRZR with iCal?
I own a Motorola KRZR K1m (Sprint), which is supposedly supported by iSync 2.4. This seems to be a troublesome phone in regard to compatibility with iSync. If you read the iSync discussions, you will see many problems. Those that do get iSync to accept the KRZR as "supported" seem to still have problems with iCal in particular. Evidently, there are some system hacks available to force the sync to work with iCal. If you are not comfortable with getting inside files and re-writing code, then you may not be a happy camper.
Naturally, if you have access to a Windows machine, you will have no problem. (... Getting ready to duck, since that last statement will draw out all the Apple apologists and Apple-employee-wannabes ...)
Personally, I have had no success getting iSync to recognize my KRZR at all. While I can transfer files via bluetooth, the iSync issues make me wish I had some other phone. In fact, the iSync/KRZR issues are probably going to lead me to change to another (known to be supported) phone. Since I'm stuck with Sprint, that won't be easy.
    Good luck!

  • Best phone plan for security system?

When I first got Fios for my home two years ago, the Triple Play bundle was the best value for me at the time. This included Freedom Essentials.  My home phone line is only used for my home's security system.  I don't make any calls on that line. I'm currently paying $50 a month for Freedom Essentials which is ridiculous because I don't need it.  I'm wonder what the cheapest home phone plan from Verizon is that I can subscribe to instead.

Last time I looked, the least expensive Verizon phone was about $10 (as mentioned above) and did come with 25 free calls and then 4 cents per call after that.
The real question is it still POTS-like?
I'm moving to a new house, and per ADTand Brinks (Broadview) their service does not work with some Verizon products. I suspect they mean the VOIP product (Digital Voice), but I'm not really sure. They really want to see a plain old telephone service (POTS), aka twisted copper pair, to be sure the system works. I still don't know if Freedom Essentials looks like POTS.
Getting this stuff coordinated is a pain. I was all set to use Freedom Essentials, but then I was told Digital Voice would save me some money in monthly taxes. Now I'm trying to figure that out.

  • Kudos to the best phone company in America

I had Verizon for 9 years and have recently moved to an area without Verizon. I don't feel the need to disparage other companies but the area service providers are terrible. For those of you complaining about Verizon, you should try anything else. I am not a plant, I run a home business. I have been without phone for 3 weeks trying to get set up with internet and phone. It is a travesty. Verizon was always reachable and their workers are much better trained that what i have encountered recently. Thank you for 9 great years of service.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm sorry we don't have service in your new location, but if you ever move back to an area where we serve we'll welcome you back with open arms! Best of luck to you!
