Best place to buy Flash ?

We have previously used another program (and it was a good
one) to create Flash applications... But now it is time to get the
real Flash.
- We will be buying Flash and Captivate.
- Unfortunately they don't come in a Creative Suite package
as far as we can find.
- List price on the pair is about $1400.
- Would you guys be kind enough to suggest some vendors we
should consider.
Thanks for any help.

Gee Whiz cbeech... Most software manufacturers urge you to
buy from their distributor base...
The 'street price' is the term I think they use to describe
what their resellers charge for the products... as opposed to the
'list price' or whatever...
And, I'm not necessarily looking for the absolute lowest
price... but I do have a fiduciary responsibility to make a
reasonable effort to buy at market price... what ever that may be.
In fact I called Adobe before this post and they gave me a
long list of their resellers and indicated they probably would more
aggressively price the product.
I posted my note in the hopes that some kind soul here would
save me a half-day on the phone... and just point me in the right
direction.
I don't think it matters if I buy from Best Buy, Amazon.com,
Staples, Circuit City, or whoever... If they are a valid Adobe
reseller I will get all the benefits of registration, upgrade
pricing, information services, and product support.
Regardless, I apologize if the question is inappropriate for
the forum.
Best regards.

  • Where is the best place to buy a replacement screen for late 2007 Macbook (3.1)?

    All,
My screen needs to be replaced on my late 2007 Macbook.  I am willing to do the work myself, but need help in finding the correct model screen to buy.  Where would be the best place to buy?

Depending on your geographical location, region, country, etc, part
sources will vary. So this is an open question. An independent
authorized Apple trained repair specialist or service facilitiy may
be able to get the part(s) and do the service. That is an old MB
and a regular Apple Store may be able to diagnose or estimate
a repair cost; but it also could be too old for that route to repair.
    A best place to buy a part could be anywhere one is for sale;
there are several online and some ship almost world-wide.
If you are in north America, there are some who also may ship
to other areas, but then there is shipping, taxes, duty fees, etc.
You may be able to narrow down the part numbers and such
by looking into online parts resellers, an example may be
    powerbookmedic.com, powermax.com, wegenermedia, etc.
There may be a part number reference in iFixit.com guides.
A service part such as main original hardware is more difficult
than a replacement hard disk drive or optical drive. Availability
varies, so without knowing where you are, I can't speculate as
to that, or any price structure. Authorized repair centers may
be found in the main online Apple links for service centers.
Sorry to not be of much help

  • Where is the best place to buy second hand iPhones?

Someone said that Melbourne had the longest turnaround times for Apple service work. Let me tell you the guys at the St Kilda Apple Service Centre turned my job around in 2 days... but my question is where is the best place to buy second hand iPhones in Melbourne?

There is no reliable place to buy any second-hand iPhone other than from someone you know personally. There is no way to know for certain that any iPhone you buy from a stranger isn't jailbroken, stolen, or reported lost and replaced (and hence probably blocked by the carrier). The only reliable place to buy an iPhone is from Apple or an authorized iPhone dealer.
This is the iMac forum, by the way.

  • Where is the best place to buy memory card?

Where is the best place to buy a memory card for my nokia n73?
And what is the best brand to buy. Do 1gb memory cards work well for a nokia n72?
    Please reply,
    Thanks.

Bought all my memory cards from mobymemory.com. Got a 1gb sandisk ultra II for £23. Next day delivery for orders before 3 too. Never had any problems and even ordered cards for friends phones. All very happy with price and quality.
P.S. buy the name you know and one size bigger than you think you need. My 1gb has enough room for 300 mp3's or nearer 900 in nokia's format. If pictures are your thing should easy hold over 800 images on the highest setting.

  • Best Place to Buy a new iPhone 3G in the US?

I'm planning to buy an iPhone 3G. Yeah I know, why am I buying it after hearing so many problems with it? Well, I think Apple and AT&T will fix the problems since it is in their interest to do so.
Anyhow, Where is the best place to buy it in the US; the Apple Store, AT&T Store or Best Buy (Starting Sept 7)?
Some of my friends bought it at the Apple and AT&T stores and when they had problems with it and had to return it they got a refurbished one.
I was thinking of waiting for Best Buy to get it so if there is a problem with it then maybe I can get a new brand new one. Is this true? Also, I went by the Best Buy store and the salesperson told me that they will offer insurance for the iPhone which the Apple and AT&T store don't offer.
    Any recommendations? Thanks.

Just to give you a head up if you have finally decided to buy iPhone from Best Buy. Unless Apple have fixed the bugs in firmware 2.1. You will most likely encounter frequent crashes using any Apps from Apple store, or simply browsing. The worst of course is the SAD (Silver Apple of Death) where your iPhone is bricked until you go home and restore it using iTunes.
I suggest if you really have these issues, DO NOT exchange your iPhone, because all iPhones are the same! It's the software problem. I'm on my 3rd replacement and that's what I have encountered. Exchanged three times, all three have the exact same software stability -- Bad! Dust getting underneath the glass is actually the norm! I am already reluctant to go back to Apple Store for an exchange. I guess I'll ask them to exchange for a new one when there are more dust getting in the screen. SAD SAD SAD.

  • Where is the best place to buy the new ipad? Please help

I am ready to buy a new ipad.  There is no apple store in my town but I will be close to one in a couple of days.  My town has Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.  Assuming I can find what I want... in case I have issues with it, where is the best place to purchase from??  (as far as ease of return, etc). Please advise.

Dah*veed ..... I do not disagree with what you said about the AppleCare+ protection plan as it does state on the website that proof of purchase is required - IF ... You purchase over the phone. Actually, I did not expect to be able to do this over the phone, but as I said I received the paperwork today via email.
I copied this from the website and I'm typing this on my new iPad so it may come out a little distorted but you can read the sentence at the bottom that says it can be done over the phone with proof of purchase. I gave the rep my serial number, confirmed my address and CC details and the deal was done. I even called back later in the day to make absolutely certain that I did in fact purchase the AppleCare+ plan that has the two incidents of accidental damage included for a $49.00 charge. The rep did in fact confirm that I did buy the correct plan that I wanted and I am looking at the printed paperwork confirming the whole thing.
    Maybe I just got lucky!
    iPad - AppleCare+
Every iPad comes with one year of hardware repair coverage and 90 days of telephone technical support. AppleCare+ for iPad gives you two years of repair coverage and technical support from the original purchase date of your iPad. And it adds coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage due to handling of your iPad, each subject to a $49 service fee.1
    How to get AppleCare+
You must buy AppleCare+ within 30 days of your iPad purchase.
There are three ways to buy:
From the Apple Online Store: When you order the new iPad or iPad 2, you’ll have the option to add AppleCare+ to your cart before you check out.
At an Apple Retail Store (requires a Genius Bar appointment, inspection of the iPad, and proof of purchase).
By calling 1-800-275-2273 (requires proof of purchase).

  • Where is the best place to buy iPad2 in Chicago/Illinois ?

i have been getting up early everyday and going to apple store okabrook, woodfield, and northbrook and i still cant get an iPad. If you got an iPad2 in the Chicago area can you tell me the best way to make sure I can get an iPad2?

Best place? It is purely random, timing, and luck. Any store you can find one is the best place right now unfortunately due to the high demand. Me, I'd be doing the rounds to every Apple, AT&T, Wal-Mart, Target, every day in the hopes I walked in at the right time.

  • Cheapest/best place to buy new DC In Board?

Does anyone have a recommendation of a good, reliable, low-cost, FAST place to buy a DC in board? I found one on powerbooktech.com for only $22 but have read quite a few reviews online that say they are less than reliable and slow to ship. I need this part, like, yesterday.

No, Apple doesn't sell any parts to end users that it doesn't classify as "user-replaceable" parts. In addition to the vendors mentioned by BGreg, try these others:
    http://www.dttservice.com (parts and repair work)
    http://www.powerbookresq.com (parts and repair work)
    http://www.powerbookmedic.com (parts and repair work)

  • Best place to buy a used iPad?

I know the discussion has included Ebay, Craigslist and an Apple refurb. But what is the previous iPad model so I know what to look for on these sites?  I don't need cell; only wifi. And do they sell refurbs on the Apple site or is there another site?

The only place to get devices refurbished by Apple is from the online Apple Store.
    As to iPad models, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5452
There aren't any truly "good" places to buy a used iPad other than from someone you know. Purchasing from any other seller is taking a risk, as you'll see if you peruse these forums for the number of threads where someone purchased a used iOS device only to find that it has Activation Lock and the seller can't be contacted or won't remove the lock. If you must buy a used iPad, at least buy from a vendor that has a return or dispute policy such as eBay or Amazon. I would avoid Craigslist like the plague; you have no recourse when purchasing from one of their ads.

  • Best place to buy Avid MC 7?

What is the least expensive place to buy Avid MC7? Thanks.

Media Composer is the same price everywhere (unless you go to eBay, etc and get a re-sold license) - unless you're a student or work in an academic institution, in which case it's much cheaper ($299 I believe). Avid also started offering monthly subscriptions with v8, so if you only need to work with it for a while, that might be a good option.

  • Where is the best place to buy an iTunes Gift Card?

When I purchased an iTunes Gift Card at a Wal-Mart store, the cashier scanned the card (like any other item), instead of sliding it, and I paid for it. When I got home to redeem it, iTunes said this message: "The Gift Certificate or Prepaid Card code you entered has not been activated. Please return to the original point of purchase for assistance."
Luckily, I had the receipt, and, after lots of arguing, was able to get a new card (the cashier said that she slid the card), and when I entered the code, it worked.
How are cashiers supposed to activate iTunes Gift Cards? Do they scan it, or are they supposed to slid the card like a credit card?
Where can I buy a Gift Card without getting, "The Gift Certificate or Prepaid Card code you entered has not been activated. Please return to the original point of purchase for assistance."?
I've seen some cards in which there is no black bar for sliding the card; instead, there's just a barcode under a window. How are those activated? By just scanning it?

    dlee--
Usually, WalMart's pretty good with gift cards. Usually. (Stuff happens, okay? )
Anyplace that carries them is usually pretty good, especially if you have your receipt. In my area, Safeway and Albertsons are pretty good. I also have a Mac Store (NOT an Apple Store, but carries Apple products) that's good, and Best Buy is also good.
    Hope this helps--

  • Where is the Best Place to Buy Ram???????

I'm looking to expand my ram from 2 gig to 4 gig and would like to get some recomendation about where or where not to go. I searched this Discussion and didn't find anything on this subject. Anyone have any good suggestions as far as price and reliability? Is there one place that is hands down the best?
    Thanks

Apple uses 1.8v memory, that's what I'd get. There are tons of places that sell it cheaply online, and you can even get the exact Samsung that Apple uses for a reasonable price.
I'll be trying a pair of Corsair Value Select 1G modules when my Quad arrives. I got them from Newegg, and they're going back if they're not 100% stable. That pair cost me about $140. Newegg has always been great for me.
A simple place to get Mac RAM is OWC. Their OWC branded RAM is inexpensive, and guaranteed to work. They also sell the exact Samsung part that Apple uses, but it's about 50% more money.
