Best PoE switch for home (8-ports) that can support 5-6 phones

Guys,
can you recommend 8 port switch that will provide enough power for 3 x 9971 and 3 x 7965 or similar?
Thanks!

I think the small-business switch SG300-10MP or SG300-MPP (with PoE+) could fit your needs:

I am looking for the oldest "vintage" apple macbook or macbook pro that is capable of supporting garageband.

Yes the MB402LL/A is the Early 2008 model 4,1 MacBook. It can run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.1-white -13-early-2008-penryn-specs.html
You would do best to buy iLife on the DVD since the latest updates to iPhoto and iMovie require 10.8 Mountain Lion. You can get the iLife ’11 DVD which will run on 10.6  on eBay fairly cheap.  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=apple+ilife+11&LH_Auction=1&LH_BIN=1&_sop=1 2&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trkparms=72%253A1234%257C66%253A2%257C65%253A12%257C39%25 3A1&LH_PrefLoc=1&_sc=1&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l2632.R2&_nkw=apple+ilife+11&_sacat =18793

  • A rugged switch that can support PoE+ on 4 ports

We are mounting 4 Access points in a parking Lott. We have wired up a cat6 cable to each AP (not power). The cat6 cables are terminated in a weather resistant outdoor box.
My question is: Does Cisco have at rouged switch that can support this setup?
The plan was to use a IE2000. However the IE-2000-16PTC-G-L that we purchased, did not deliver enough power on each port (it can deliver PoE on 4 ports, but only PoE+ on 2) My fault that I did not read the PDF thoroughly enough :-(
So question is, does cisco have a rugged switch that can deliver PoE+ on 4 ports?

I believe you'd have to move up to the IE3000 series with the 8-port module (Cisco IEM-3000-4PC-4TC=). That module will deliver POE+ on 4 of its 8 ports. Reference.

  • What is the best charging cable for the iPad Air (that is not made by Apple)? I need a long cable (over 6ft or more). I also need the cable to be of high quality and the cord part of the cable to be made of strong material.

What is the best charging cable for the iPad Air (that is not made by Apple)? I need a long cable (over 6ft or more). I also need the cable to be of high quality and the cord part of the cable to be made of strong material. Apple does not make one this long. Is there a cable out there that is sturdy like this and is safe to use?

yes, but I'm trying to use my iPad to type notes (using pages) and I have the smart case which I use as a stand. I need a cable long enough to fit through the back of my desk and the charging brick for the iPad won't fit behind the desk. I have to put it on the floor and then the apple cables aren't long enough to reach.

  • HT3152 I have triple play cable service. Phone service is internet based. i pay monthly charge for cable provider modem. I also want to use modem for my Apple ipad2. Can I replace with another modem that will support internet based phone as well as ipad2?

I have cable triple play service. Phone service ios internet based and depends on cable provider modem. I pay monthly charge for modem. I also want to use modem for ipad2. Is there any modem that can support both internet based phone as well as ipad2?

If I understand you correctly, I have the same configuration.  My modem supports Internet and phone service and my television service bypasses the modem.  It does not do any routing.  It has a single Ethernet port and I plugged in an external router with a WiFi radio - Apple Airport Express.  Works like a champ.
Configuration of the Express was difficult.  I had to plug it in to AC power and to the modem.  Then, I opened up Airport Utility and had to click "yes" for each recommendation.  Then I had to really think hard to come up with a WiFi password.  Took me a horrendous thirty seconds from start to finish!

  • Is there a Maximum amount of USB and Firewire Ports that can be added?

Can someone tell me if there is a maximum number of USB or Firewire ports
that can be added to an iMac by using hubs? I sometimes find myself running
short and wonder how this can be corrected. Also, the new iMac has
one Firewire--is there such a thing as a Firewire hub? Thanks for any info.

I think the exact numbers are:
USB. Up to 127 devices, including the hub devices, may be connected to a single host controller. iMac G4's have two controllers between the three ports (the port next to the modem has it's own controller shared with the modem(which also counts as a device)).
Firewire. 63 devices daisy-chained or though hubs one of which is the computer.
Most Firewire devices have two or more ports so you can daisy-chain the connections without a hub.

  • Looking for form filling app that can do this

I am looking for an iPad app that can do this. I know it would need some type of cloud/web based backend to setup and manage but I'm looking for the following:
We are a fire and security company. Many jobs require multiple documents to be created such as a service ticket, alarm activity log and maybe another form. The problem is if the tech needs to fill out the service ticket and activity log, those forms require in many ways the same information such as description of problem and end results and then each form has it's own separate info required. Right now the tech either has to retype all the similar data or try to copy and paste between the different fillable PDF files.
I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to select which forms are needed and then it will populate the required fields to fill in and when complete it will export it to PDF on the appropriate company document templates and allow signatures to be placed before printing via AirPrint and emailing it to customer and our office.
Does anyone know of a solution like this? It is not an easy thing to look for on Google.

To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

    iPad (iOS 7.1.2) - Kindle.
I am looking for a good app that can help a college student with reading books that cannot be found on audio book.  I have tried voice over and it works but it's very monotone and it really strings things together.
    - I'm willing to pay for a good app but I can't seem to sort though the many that are out there. Any suggestions.

Ah. I'm surprised, but there we go.

Didn't have time to do more than skim, but 'Ardour' looked promising. Protools is the only one I've used, the full product is one of the industry standards, but the free 'lite' version listed here seems to be limited to 2 in/out as well.
Referring to your original post, I'd think trying to write or 'script' something would be a nightmare ... synchronisation of streams within something like Applescript would be a major issue, quite apart from anything else.

Is there a update for Photoshop Elements 8 that will support raw files from a Canon T3i 600d?

    You have two alternatives:
    (1) Upgrade to PSE 9,10 or 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.3
Mac download click here DNG Converter 7.3
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Need billing number for a real person that can fix problems

I got Fios a few months ago.  A new account was set up for Fios but I'm still being billed for DSL.  I've been trying to get the problem fixed for months.   The first month they credited back the Fios charge.  The second month they said they would send someone out to make changes to transfer my copper line number to Fios but the person never came.  I've called several times after that to get the problem fixed.  This month they turned off Fios so I paid to have it turned back on in addition to paying my phone and DSL bill.  I've been on the phone several times for hours with people that can't do anything to help so they transfer me to others or tell me to call back the next day because their shift is over or the person that can really help me has different hours.  If anyone has the phone number to someone that actually fixed a convoluted problem, please message me.  I'll go postal if I have to explain my problem to another series of people that can't do a thing to help me.

    @grschinon:
Several hits on conversations.nokia.com, but the best explanation I found, which is more in line with what I read in the past, is on this page, posted 2009-Aug-13:
"I feel that the whole SIP client story is one of those (no flames, please). Nokia took out the client expecting IT departments and independent developers to create a better SIP client. Sure, there are VoIP clients, which cover the majority of folks. But the folks who want a proper SIP client on their phone ended up not having any developer make anything for them.
Usually, independent developers drive innovations in a platform, whether it be Windows or Symbian or whatnot. In the case of SIP, when Nokia built a phone, with all the foundation needed for SIP, no one came – no Cisco, no IBM, no one."
A rewrite of the underlying SIP stack shouldn't cause Nokia to pull out the front-end client.  If you think about it, a SIP client would be very useful during the SIP stack rewrite for testing and validation (in addition to the unit tests, I'm sure).
In any case, I guess I was looking for something officially stated by Nokia (as you suggested) rather than blogs, unless they are backed by sources.
