Best position for voice recording ?

What is the best position for iPhone to voice record (with official apple app) ? On its back side ? Front side ? Others ?

It uses the same microphone you use for making phone calls. Amny position that doesn't obstruct it should work.

I don't have the microphone on my keyboard for voice recording to text on my ipad and I have the newest one. Do I have to download an app for it to be added? When I bought it the salesman showed it to me on the one he was demonstrating, but when I activated my account on mine, it doesn't show up.

  • Using Muvo TX FM for voice record

Hi all, am looking forward to learning all about how to use my mp3 player via this forum--and hope to contribute as well (at least once I get the hang of things! :smileyvery-happy: )
I purchased the Muvo TX FM player and was wondering if anyone has used the voice recorder feature to do things like record class lectures, meetings, whatever, and what your experience has been with it.
I attend a lot of meetings as part of my job and think it might be helpful in recalling quotes and such--but I don't know how well it works in terms of range, etc. Sound quality doesn't have to be great just good enough for me to hear what is being said.
    Anyone?
    Thanks in advance
    C

Well, I did not record much until now, but here are some short thoughts:
It is best to lay the player e.g. on the table and do not move it around while recording, because touching the player and moving it will result in additional noise that will be recorded. Wind could also make the results worse.
And the range is depending on background noise level. I'd say a few meters, if it is quiet.
Since creative did some improvements to this feature, I suggest you use the newest firmware .3.03, it records on a higher volume level than the former one and creative reports that background noise is lower now.
Try it and out and see if the voice-recording is useful for you.

  • Wanted: Sample source code for voice recorder

I've been google searching for some sample source code to implement a voice recorder on my AudioVox 5600. I would like to learn how to read from the microphone and write to my SD card in a standard file format like wav, wma or mp3.
Can anyone help me understand how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Siegfried

    Basic would be ;
    RESULT_FIELDS -xxx = <SOURCE_FIELDS> -xxx
you have the source fields as source, and result fields for as the target. In between you can check some conditions as in other routines of transformation.
BEGIN OF tys_SC_1, shows your source fields ( in your case DSO chars and key figures)
BEGIN OF tys_TG_1, , shows your result fields ( in your case Cube characteristics)
    Hope this helps

  • Best practices for Voice over MetroRing

Hi, We have installed a MetroRing Gigabit Ethernet using 3550 and 6500 Catalyst switches. Today, only data is running, but looking at tomorrow, when voice/video be requested, I am trying to find some best practices for QoS or traffic classification. If you can point me to some of them will be great.

    Hi,
You might also find those useful: " LAN QoS"

  • IPod Touch for Voice Recording. Any Thoughts?

I have an iPod Touch and I love it. I am wondering if anyone has experience with using it as a voice recorder. I understand that I would have to buy a microphone adaptor, so I'd like to hear recommendations on which to buy. I will be using it to record lectures at college in relatively small rooms. I had used an Olympus digital voice recorder every semester until now. However I've lost it and before I buy a new one, I wanted to see if maybe I could add another use to my iPod Touch. The most important thing is that I can transfer the recordings to my computer as I like archive all lectures and labs.
    To summarize my questions:
    1. Is this even a good idea? Does anyone have experience doing this or something similar?
    2. What microphone adaptor would you recommend?
    3. What program(s) will be needed?
    4. Any other input is more than welcome.
    Thank you kindly, Apple site.
    -Vincent.

Heck yeah! I use mine all the time for recording voice memos! The built in app works perfectly fine for me although there are most likely tons on the app store. In terms of what mic to get, It doesn't matter as long as it is the 'passthrough' kind. Not that it has to have a headphone jack on it, but it has to have the 4 connectors on the male end that plugs into your iDevice. You can buy little tiny 'stub' microphones all over on ebay that will fit perfectly with little footprint, DOWNSIDE to those is that you can't plug in a pair of headphones at the same time (unless you're using the iPhone earbuds that have a built in mic, that kinda thing) Hope this helped! have fun!

  • Earphones with Remote and Mic (for Voice Recorder??)

Hello, today I find this Earphones with Remote and Mic on Apple store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB770
It will work on iPod touch (2nd generation), so does it mean the voice recorder app (bought from App Store) is going to work on the iPod touch (2nd generation) as well?? Or the Mic is just working for the phone function??
    Anybody know?
    Thanks.
    Raymond

We were talking about the $29 ones...they seem to be out of stock online (?)..the $79 haven't been released yet....

  • Condenser mic for voice recording - setup advice ??

    Hi All,
Newbie to GB. Want to setup my condenser mic (3.5mm) to record voice tracks. The condenser mic was purchased with a HD Camcorder and works great for video. Currently the mic works through the "line-in" but at very low level. Done a little research and Hangtime recommends the use of a USB interface.
    http://www.thehangtime.com/gb/gbfaq2.html#recordlinein
    (thanks hangtime).
I'm now looking at the griffin imic as an inexpensive solution. Before I drop my $$ on this guy, is this the best solution. (or will it do the job right??)
    Feedback appreciated.
    Matt.
    G5 D1.8 1GB/160/SD   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Garageband 1.1.0

My advice would be the same as CD's. If you have a Line-In, for the same price as an iMic you could get a small mixer like the Behringer UB502 Eurorack Mixer for about $38, add a 1/8" to 1/4" adaptor, and you'll have much better control than with the iMic alone.

  • Best practice for Book recording vocals...

My wife has written a children's book that we want to record and offer as a downloadable MP3 set. She will do the recording and we have the mic/studio GarageBand all working just fine. My question is what is the best way to make sure that all the tracks for each chapter are equalized the same?
I know that we are trying to record it all the same, but I just wanted to see if there was anyway with GB or some other app to take all the seperate vocal tracks and make them all the same in volume, other than looking at the settings in GB which we don't change as far as input goes...
Hope that is clear and makes sense... I just would like to know what I should do to make it as good as it can be with what we have, then stop worrying about it.
    Cheers,
    Cory

Hmmm, thanks AppleGuy, that is interesting. I knew that I could create my own presets, but didn't think about this in this way...
So, if I took the first chapter that we did, adjusted it to my liking, ie. reverb to just fill it out a bit, then saved it as a preset, I could then apply this preset to all my other recordings so that they would all have the same properties? I know this wouldn't actually fix the possible increase or decrease of volume from different recording sessions, but it would allow me to make sure they all have the same effects settings, yes?
How do you do this to tracks that are already recorded?
    Thanks,

  • Best Tool for Voice Editing?

    Hi everyone,
I produce a few podcasts done in Second Life using thier somewhat dodgy voice client, and skype and talkshoe and things like this. The quality of the recorded audio can be less than stellar, as you can imagine..
So, I don't write songs, but I DO need to clean up and edit and work with somtimes LARGE (2hrs or more on occasion) group voice chats.
Is Logic express my best bet? Or something else?
Garageband can't handle the file lengths and does not seem to have enough power...
    thx

It really depends of how indepth you want to get. Logic Express is a good choice. It is extremely flexible in the sense that you can do some really good recording and then you load pluggins that help with editing you recordings. You can find some free pluggins on the net or you can purchase some from places like guitar center or sweetwater. Plus if you know how to use garageband then moving into logic shouldn't be too difficult. I personally use Pro Tools to do my editing but I think it may be a bit much but check out their website. • Best Nokia for Voice Dialing?

I have the 6300 and find the voice dialling all but useless. Neither do I need a voice tag for every contact. Assuming that Nokia do not intend, by means of a F/W update, to allow users to either disable the VD or record their own tags then can anybody suggest a suitable replacement for the 6300?...preferably one where I can record my own tags for about ten contacts or less. Or perhaps if I could erase the tags on all but the contacts I want...that might help.

The older phones such as the 6230i uses tags. Nokia for their own reasons switched the newer phones from using tags to SIND. Hence, I don't think they will be switching back to using tags. It is more likely that they will continue improving SIND.
It was a little messy at the start but within a couple of days I was getting reasonable results.

  • Using Mic for Voice Recording - and listening...

Alright.. I have a MacBook and a Snowball USB mic. The Snowball works a-ok, the only thing is is that I can't hear myself while I'm recording. I can only hear it on playback. This might seem normal to some but I was hoping to have this set up like I'm accustomed to in an actual studio where you can actually hear your own voice through the headphones or even the speakers. I'm also using Garage Band. Anyone have any ideas on how to enable this? Is it just a simple little setting that I'm not noticing?
    Thanks in advance.

If you're using Garageband then you should be able to hear yourself. Make sure the 'monitor' function is set correctly for the corresponding Garageband track by opening the right-hand panel and choosing it from the proper menu. Garageband also has a great 'Help' section in its top menu.

  • What's the best app for screen recording?

The topic pretty much says it all.
I need a MacPro app that records (to video) mouse cursor
movements, button states, and etc. so that real-time
tutorials and presentations can be delivered and distributed
    over the internet.
Here's is one of my previous jobs for reference and to get
    us on the same page:
    ftp://ftp.newtek.com/pub/LightWave/LW9/ShaderIntro_Quicktime.mov
Additionally you may need to install this codec:
    http://www.techsmith.com/download/codecs.asp
Is there anything out there that will do this on the Mac?
    Thanks in advance guys!

Snapz Pro is the best screen capture utility period. At the moment it is not a Universal Binary, but it was updated to run on Intel Macs. ASW is working on a major update for Snapz that will be a UB.
    Here is an indication of how Snapz performs on a Mac Pro under Rosetta {http://www.machinima.com/article.php?article=459}

  • Mic not connecting for voice recording.

Suddenly mic not connecting to server.  I have FP 10.1. 102.64  Windows XP 32 bit and explorer 8.   See link which instructs me to "change"  but no response.

Thanks for replying;   Have been away for three days and just now found your
reply.   I'm taking interactive language lessons.  A segment of each lesson
asks for a verbal response.   I had no trouble with 25 previous lessons - so
far as recording and playback is concerned.  Suddenly, for reason unknown to
me, I cannot do the recording. Sound portions from the instructor are as
usual - no trouble.  But when I try to record a reply,  I get a message
saying I must allow Flash player to access my mike.  There is also the word
change in blue - looks like a hyperlink but I can't succeed in inserting it
as hyperlink here.  In addditon it seems to initially respond as if it is a
hyperlink with the prelimininary signal (hand with index finger pointing to
it.) However, nothing further happens.  It doesn't connect me to anything.
My problem is that somehow the connect between Flash Player and my mike has
failed and I'm unable to find the fix for it. .
