    Hi Team,
    Could you please send if you have any  Best Practice document for configuring Service Parameters on CUCM 9.1.1. That would really help.
    Thanks,

    Hi
    There's no 'best practice' as such, but there are a few that I think should be default:
    Enabling CDR, On-Hook Pickup, CFwdAll Override... but really the settings are specific to the requirements of the deployment.

    Do a search on TechNet or Bing for creating Hyper-V VMs. You will find all sorts of blog posts with examples.
    If you are asking about creating a Microsoft failover cluster with guest VMS, do a search again.  Lots of posts with examples.

  • General Oracle Database Performance trouble solving best practice Steps

    We use  Oracle 11g DB on Windows2008R2 as web application backend DB.
    We have peformance trouble in that DB.
    I would like to know General Oracle Database Performance trouble solving best practice Steps.
    Is there any good general best practice document for performace trouble solving in the internet ?

    @Girish Sharma:  I disagree with this. Many people say things like your phrase "..first identify the root cause and then move forward" but that is not the first step. Any such technique is nothing more than looking at some report, finding a number that you don't like, and attempting to "fix" it. Some people use that supposedly funny term "compulsive tuning disorder" (first used by Gaja Krishna Vaidyanatha) to describe this approach (also advocated in this topic by @Supriyo Dey). The first step must be to determine what the problem is. Until you know that, all those reports you mentioned (which, remember, require EE plus pack licences) are useless.
    @teradata0802, your best practice starts by finding the problem. Is it, for example, that the overnight batch jobs don't finish until lunchtime? A screen takes 10 seconds to refresh, and your target is one second? A report takes half an hour, but you need to run it every five minutes? Determine what business function is causing your client to lose money because it is too slow. Then investigate what it is doing, how, and why. You have to begin by focussing on the problem, not by running database-wide reports..

  • Best practices steps for enabling LLE

    Hi
    I am currently enabling LLE for a SHM based application , As the application is running ,
    I would like know the best practices steps to perform the changes to the Ubbconfig,
    basically if I could get the sequence of steps , that would be great..
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
    What kind of client is running on citrix? I assume a workstation client. You can control the level of encryption required for workstation clients by specifying the -z and -Z options to the WSL in CLOPT in the UBBCONFIG file. These switches control the minimum and maximum level of encryption supported by the WSL.

  • Best practice for server configuration for iTunes U

    Hello all, I'm completely new to iTunes U, never heard of this until now and we have zero documentation on how to set it up. I was given the task to look at best practice for setting up the server for iTunes U, and I need your help.
    *My first question*: Can anyone explains to me how iTunes U works in general? My brief understanding is that you design/setup a welcome page for your school with sub categories like programs/courses, and within that you have things like lecture audio/video files and students can download/view them on iTunes. So where are these files hosted? Is it on your own server or is it on Apple's server? Where & how do you manage the content?
    *2nd question:* We have two Xserve(s) sitting in our server room ready to roll, my question is what is the best method to configure them so it meets our need of "high availability in active/active mode, load balancing, and server scaling". Originally I was thinking about using a 3rd party load balancing device to meet these needs, but I was told there is no budget for it so this is not going to happen. I know there is IP Failover but one server has to sit in standby mode which is a waste. So the most likely scenario is to setup DNS round robin and put both xserves in active/active. My question now is (this maybe related to question 1), say that all the content data like audio/video files are stored by us, (We are going to link a portion of our SAN space to Xserve for storage), if we are going with DNS round robin and put the 2 servers in Active/Active mode, can both servers access a common shared network space? or is this not possible and each server must have its own storage space? And therefore I must use something like RSYNC to make sure contents on both servers are identical? Should I use XSAN or is RSYNC good enough?
    Since I have no experience with iTunes U whatsoever, I hope you understand my questions, any advice and suggestion are most welcome, thanks!

    wht is the Best Practice for having server pool i.e
    1) having a single large serverpool consisting of "n" number of guest vm
    2) having a multiple small serverpool consisting of less of number of guest vm I prefer option 1, as this gives me the greatest amount of resources available. I don't have to worry about resources in smaller pools. It also means there are more resources across the pool for HA purposes. Not sure if this is Official Best Practice, but it is a simpler configuration.
    Keep in mind that a server pool should probably have up to 20 servers in it: OCFS2 starts to strain after that.

  • Best practice MPLS design/configuration for small service provider

    We are a small regional service provider and did not have MPLS supported on our network.  To start supporting MPLS, I’d like to get opinions and recommendations on the best practice configuration.
    Here is what we have today –
    We have our own BGP AS and multiple /24s.
    We are running OSPF on the Cores and BGP on the Edge routers peering with ISPs.
    We peer with multiple tier-1 ISPs for internet traffic. We do not provide public transit.
    What we want for phase one MPLS implementation –
    Configure basic MPLS /vpn functionality.
    No QoS optimization required for phase 1.
    We have Cisco ME 3600X for  PE. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

    Not sure what kind of devices or routers you have in your network but looks for if you have support for labeled multicast for MVPN support. That will avoid other complexity of using other control protocols (like PIM) in core.
    PE redundancy can be obtained by BGP attributes, CE-PE connectivity can be tunned using IGP or VRRP/HSRP...
    You can have mutiple RSVP TEs for various contract traffic and you can bind various kind of traffic to different RSVP Tunnels based on contract or service with your customer.
    RSVP-TE with link/node protection design will be of great help to achieve quicker failover.

  • Best practice Forms 10g configuration setup and tuning

    Hi,
    We are currently depolying forms 10g from 6i client/server version. Users are experiencing Form hangups and hour glasses. This does not happen that often but can happen any time, anywhere in the app (users do inserts, updates and deletes and queries).
    Is there a baseline best practice configuration setup anywhere either in the Forms side or the AppServer side of things?
    Here is our setup:
    Forms 10g (9.0.4)
    Reports 10g (9.0.4)
    Oracle AppServer 10g (9.0.4)
    OS = RedHat Linux
    Client Workstations run on Windows 2000 and XP w/ Internet Explorer 6 or higher
    Average No. of users = 250
    Thanks for all your help

    Shutdown applications within the guest.
    Either power off from Oracle VM Manager or 'xm shutdown xxx' from the command line
    It is possible one or more files could be open when the shutdown is initiated.
    Have found at least one case of misconfigured IP which would have resulted in the disk access being via the 'Front End' interface rather than the Back End.

  • Best practices in wireless configuration?

    Hi,
    Is there a best practice document that shows 3500 AP with 5508 controllers? The questions I have are below.
    1. Do I configure each AP to non overlapping neighbor channels(1,6,11 for 2.4GHz) or leave that to controller to decide? Does controller change the channel of an AP when it sees congestion on a specific frequency?
    2. For 5 GHz is it good idea to bond the channels? What frequency to use for neighboring APs? OR again, leave it to controller to shift as needed?
    3. For security what's best practices? 802.1x or different?
    Thanks,
    Sm

    1. Do I configure each AP to non overlapping neighbor channels(1,6,11 for 2.4GHz) or leave that to controller to decide?
    Let the controller(s) decide.  By default the Dynamic Channel Assignment (DCA) verifies the channel for interferrence every 600 seconds.  Because you have 3500 then make sure you enable Event Driven RRM (Radio Resource Management) on both channels.
    Does controller change the channel of an AP when it sees congestion on a specific frequency?
    The controllers will not change the channel when it sees congestion.  The controller will change the channel if it sees interference on the same channel.  The CleanAir will change the channel when it sees interference from non-AP interference like Bluetooth, Microwave ovens, cordless phones, etc.
    2. For 5 GHz is it good idea to bond the channels?
    Sure.
    What frequency to use for neighboring APs? OR again, leave it to controller to shift as needed?
    Leave this option in default.
    3. For security what's best practices? 802.1x or different?Sure.

  • OSB: What is best practice for reading configuration information

    I'm trying to establish the best way to utilise configuration information within OSB. At present I have a standard Java style properties file and Java callout to get certain information and I have also been experimenting with Dynamic Routing using an XML based Xquery resource.
    The latter appears to me the best approach and is described on page 3-40 of the OSB User Guide but it appears to be configurable only from the OSB console and not as a resource from within Workshop. Ideally I'd like to configure an XML resource file that is loaded from disk at OSB startup and then be able to use that via an XQuery.
    How have other people addressed the issue of getting access to parameter/control values at run time?

    Can you please elaborate a little on what you mean by making it available "via a OSB Server URL" What I have done:
    1) Created simple web application in domain directory.
    Sample web.xml
    <web-app xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:web="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd" id="WebApp_ID" version="2.5">
    <display-name>Sample</display-name>
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>properties.xml</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    </web-app>
    2) Deploy this web application in exploded format using weblogic console(http://localhost:7001/console) in the OSB domain instance.
    3) properties.xml is available via http://localhost:7001/Sample
    4) Use the above URL in your service callout.
    and how this avoids File IO and how it is cached? I'm not sure what you mean here.If we are using Java callout , we have to create File and close the File handle every time. There is this over head in creating/reading file in java every time java callout is used. This over head can be avoided if the XML is available over http. I'm quite sure that weblogic server will cache this XML file by default (What use is webserver if it cannot cache static content?), as this is not dynamic content. Weblogic Server forums will be the right place to get conformation on how to configure caching with web application..
    Thanks
