Best practices steps for enabling LLE

Hi
I am currently enabling LLE for a SHM based application , As the application is running ,
I would like know the best practices steps to perform the changes to the Ubbconfig,
basically if I could get the sequence of steps , that would be great..
Praveen

Hi Praveen,
What kind of client is running on citrix? I assume a workstation client. You can control the level of encryption required for workstation clients by specifying the -z and -Z options to the WSL in CLOPT in the UBBCONFIG file. These switches control the minimum and maximum level of encryption supported by the WSL.

Do a search on TechNet or Bing for creating Hyper-V VMs. You will find all sorts of blog posts with examples.
If you are asking about creating a Microsoft failover cluster with guest VMS, do a search again.  Lots of posts with examples.

  • "Best Practice" steps for creating & preseving video quality

I would like help in understanding the "rules of the trade" when it comes to video quality.
I have been converting old VHS video tapes using my Sony DV camera...importing them into iMovie 6HD (mainly because I read that the quality is better in imovie 6hd vs. iMovie09)...so far I have imported around 7 hours of video...into one project...which is 250gb in size....I want to burn the videos to a DVD....due to the size of the project..I'm creating new projects and coping over clips....soon I will have 3 projects that take up 500gbs.
Is this typical? I understand that it is good to save the video in the original quality for safe keeping...but I have 100s of video tapes that I would like to convert, edit, burn to DVD, and save.....using my current process for importing, and editing....I would crash the servers used by Google.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple discussions!!
I have been converting old VHS video tapes using my Sony DV camera
Using the Sony DV camera is an "OK" way to import VHS. Look at the Canopus ADVC300. Audio and Video go in, FireWire comes out.
The program that comes with the ADVC300 has some nice filters that can improve video and audio of the source material. The ADVC300 will take Audio and Video from ANY source and convert it to FireWire (iMovie 06 will treat it like a camera).
    http://www.grassvalley.com/products/advc300
.importing them into iMovie 6HD (mainly because I read that the quality is better in imovie 6hd vs. iMovie09
Good move. (use iMovie 06 with iDVD 09 set to Professional Quality.)
so far I have imported around 7 hours of video...into one project
I would limit each project to 110 - 120 mins, and make DVDs as you complete each project.
using my current process for importing, and editing....I would crash the servers used by Google.
A 2TB drive should hold about 140 hours of video. I ALWAYS build my own external hard drive. More storage and less money.
If you are going to do video, get the biggest drive you can. You can assemble the below items in about three minutes.

http://www.cooldrives.com/ox93saiihadr.html

http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Intellipower-Desktop-WD20EADS/dp/B001RB1TI S/ref=sr11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1258862242&sr=8-1
Use the FireWire port, the Firewire protocol allows more direct address to memory (including mass storage) with minimal intervention of the CPU, nothing will interfere with it, No collisions, No glitches. Firewire is rock-solid.
    There is nothing wrong with wanting to keep your original iMovie 06 file, however;
After I transfer a video to iMovie 06 I make a DVD image file (always make a DVD image file first, then burn a DVD) with iDVD 09, then a DVD from the image file. I then test the DVD and keep only the image file (small) created by iDVD. I do not keep the original iMovie 06 file anyway (large).
    Regarding DVDs
    Do NOT use adhesive labels!!!!!!!!!
Never, Ever, use labels!!! Buy printable DVD,s.
    Try this program.
    http://smileonmymac.com/DiscLabel/
    Printable DVD+R discs. Something like,
    http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/taiyo-yuden-8x-dvd-plus-r-media-white-i nkjet-hub-printable-100-pack
I have found DVD+R to be more reliable than DVD-R. The only disadvantage to DVD+R is that DVD players manufacture before 2003 may not play them.
DVD+R disks are better than DVD-R disks because of the increased error correction technique used for the +R type.
Once you have made a few DVDs you will establish a good workflow, making your project more fun.

  • Best practice guide for Batch Load utility in Oracle UCM.

    Hi,
Is there any best practice guide for Oracle UCM Batch Loader utility.
We are looking for information regarding batch size in terms of number and size of contents. Also is there any loading time standards considering the contents are uploaded in filesystem where filestore provider is configured?
    Thanks,
    Krishnendu

    Hi ,
There are no specific set of steps / practices for batch loading contents to ucm . It would be very much dependent on how many contents does the user have to load to UCM and how well the server is configured in terms of performance .
You can get more details from the following documentation link : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21043_01/doc.1111/e10792/c02_settings009.htm

  • Request for any Best Practice document for configuring Service Parameters on CUCM 9.1.1

    Hi Team,
Could you please send if you have any  Best Practice document for configuring Service Parameters on CUCM 9.1.1. That would really help.
    Thanks,
    Guru

    Hi
There's no 'best practice' as such, but there are a few that I think should be default:
Enabling CDR, On-Hook Pickup, CFwdAll Override... but really the settings are specific to the requirements of the deployment.

  • General Oracle Database Performance trouble solving best practice Steps

We use  Oracle 11g DB on Windows2008R2 as web application backend DB.
We have peformance trouble in that DB.
I would like to know General Oracle Database Performance trouble solving best practice Steps.
Is there any good general best practice document for performace trouble solving in the internet ?

@Girish Sharma:  I disagree with this. Many people say things like your phrase "..first identify the root cause and then move forward" but that is not the first step. Any such technique is nothing more than looking at some report, finding a number that you don't like, and attempting to "fix" it. Some people use that supposedly funny term "compulsive tuning disorder" (first used by Gaja Krishna Vaidyanatha) to describe this approach (also advocated in this topic by @Supriyo Dey). The first step must be to determine what the problem is. Until you know that, all those reports you mentioned (which, remember, require EE plus pack licences) are useless.
@teradata0802, your best practice starts by finding the problem. Is it, for example, that the overnight batch jobs don't finish until lunchtime? A screen takes 10 seconds to refresh, and your target is one second? A report takes half an hour, but you need to run it every five minutes? Determine what business function is causing your client to lose money because it is too slow. Then investigate what it is doing, how, and why. You have to begin by focussing on the problem, not by running database-wide reports..

  • Where does one find the Oracle Best Practice/recommendations for how to DR

What is the Oracle Best Practice for install/deployment and configuration of ODI 11g for Disaster Recovery?
We have a project that is using Oracle ODI 11g (11.1.1.5).
We have configured all the other Oracle FMW components as per the Oracle DR EDG guides. Basically using the Host ip name/aliasing concept to ‘trick’ the secondary site into thinking
it is primary and continue working with minimal (or no) manual reconfiguration. But will this work for ODI? The FMW DR guide has sections for SOA, WebCenter and IdM, but nothing for ODI.
Since ODI stores so much configuration information in the Master Repository..when this DB gets ‘data guarded’ to the secondary site and promoted to Primary…ODI will still think it is at the ‘other’ site. Will this break the actual agents running the scenarios?
Where does one find the Oracle Best Practice/recommendations for how to DR ODI properly?
We are looking for a solution that will allow a graceful switchover/failover with minimal manual re-configuration.

The only resource I have is this website and the only binaries seem to be for Linux OS.You have one other HUGE resource that, while it won't answer your current question, you'd better start getting familiar with if you are going to use Oracle. • Best practice document for ACE30

Can someone point me to a best practice document for the ACE30.  I am specifically looking at best practices as they relate to resouce allocation, logging, FT, and snmp.  I am migrating from CSM so the VIP/Server configuration is basically set.  I am looking for areas that pertain to the ACE as a whole.
    Thank you

    Good afternoon,
I'm afraid there isn't a best practices document as such, however, I would suggest you to have a look at the ACE section in doc-wiki (http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Application_Control_Engine_%28ACE%29_Troubleshooting_Guide).
This document can give you some useful insights on different topics, including (but not limited to) resource allocation.
    I hope this helps
