Best prepaid service when using a 3gs Iphone in San Francisco:

I am interested in buying my first IPhone (a 3gs) and I would like to utilize it with a prepaid service such as Straight Talk.
Is there is particular prepaid provider that is recommended for the San Francisco area?
Also related to that question is it better to obtain a locked or unlocked phone (Straight Talk appears to allow unlocked GSM and locked GSM such as AT&T)?

I appreciate everyone's input, especially the suggestion to check out Pageplus (which runs on Verizon).
I also realize that a 3gs IPhone is a GSM and that I would need an IPhone 4 or newer that is compatible with CDMA network.

If you are having the same issue on several computers then it is a hardware issue! Not a software issue! Replacement is the only resolution!

Am I the only that finds the email confirmations annoying when using find my iPhone?
Is there any way to prevent these emails, or a preference somewhere to turn them off?

I accidentaly clicked "remove" when using find my iphone...how do I log in when my iphone is not with me to find it?

i was using "find my iphone" and when given the location it was an old location. A post read that the iphone was either turned off or the wifi was not being used. A remove or cancel button appears with this message. There is no "world apple warranty" on iPhones. As paulcb points out, the warranty is only valid in the country of origin. You will have to bring it to the U.S. or send it to someone you know there to get it serviced.

Ipad is showing as offline when using "find my iphone"

I am having trouble getting my ipad to be located using find my iphone. This was working and has now stopped working (and did stop working prior to installing iOS 5 so im pretty certain its nothing to do with my software update the other day)
I have downloaded the app, location services are on as are push notifications and of course find my iphone is enabled. Ipad is definately on and connected to the net as its only the wifi version.
When i try to find it, it says that its offline. I have tried a whole lot of things so far and nothing as worked
- turned airplane mode off/on - restart - no luck
- turned push notifications off/on - no luck
- turned location services off/on - no luck
- deleted my icloud account and then added again - no luck
- deleted the app and downloaded again (clutching at straws at this stage!) and still no luck
I read somewhere that it could be to do with me recently changing my apple ID which i did a couple of weeks ago - the suggestion that i read was to change my apple id back and it should work. Problem is that my old apple ID was 6 letters long and no capitals, so i can't change it back even if i wanted to
Also what annoys my is that i can actually locate my iphone sweet as just not my ipad

For some strange reason, maps don't render when using Find My iPhone.

After updating to IOS 8.1 (or maybe a coincidence), whenever I use Find My iPhone app on my phone, or Apple Maps, I only see the gridlines but no other detail about roads, etc. Anyone experiencing this, and any solution? Thanks.

What's the best wireless service to use?

My client would like to know what's the best unlimited service plan (Verizon? AT&T? T-Mobile?) to get for wireless Internet on his MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.5.5; Leopard). Do they have devices with USB and card with the antenna? I don't know how well these providers support Apple computers. It would be nice if it has PC support too to use between laptops/notebooks if needed.
This is important if there is no wifi, remote locations, etc. Also, prices are not an issue, fast speeds, and no caps are recommended. It should be similiar to his Palm Treo 680 smartphone, but it is very slow so hopefully the ones for MacBook Pro won't be slow.

Failure to generate WSDL from web service when use xmlbean

Hi, I have a web service that uses xmlbean generated by schema. The schema from 3rd party is in a separate project since it's used by another web app and ejb project. In wlw103 I have included the schema project in this web service project's Java Build Path. The web service compiles, but when I tried to generate WSDL a Error window shows and says "The WSDL cannot be generated from the web service due to unexpected runtime errors".
The following is the detail. What do I need to do to make the xmlbean available for my web service? Thanks

Do you need service to use iMessage on iPhone 4S?

I've bought an iPhone 4S off a friend and it has a SIM card without service, so iMessage says "waiting for activation..." So, you need service to use iMessage? I tried reinstalling iOS 6, nothing.

Activating iMessage on an iPhone requires sending an SMS. If your phone has no service, I don't see how you'd be able to do that.

My lycos mail account when used with my Iphone 6, is not syncing with my Ipad or PC mail.

I am using an iphone 6 with the new updated iOs8. My email account, Lycos, is not in sync when using Ipad, Iphone vs PC. The account syncs when I use the Ipad or PC, but not when using the Iphone.

Purchases to an iPad can be done automatically by going to: Settings>iTunes and App store and clicking on Automatically download music/apps you are able to toggle the cellular data switch to expedite the download if your device has cellular data.
