Best PSU for PT880 running Prescott

Any thoughts?  Basically it comes down to these things:
1. Price
2. Wattage
3. Sound (kinda want it quiet)
Are there any that are cheap enough that have extra power in all the rails?  I only got a 380W but it runs.  Cept I built this computer to get a good overclock on air cooling.  I find myself wanting a better power supply.  I think that is the only thing that holds me back.
Also, what are some of the voltages you guys are giving to the AGP, North and Southbridges?  I know the AGP can vary and the RAM can vary as well.  It seems I can push my ram to 2.8 and AGP to 1.8.  The other two I haven't really tried to push yet.  And if you do push them, would it make the board any more stable when you overclock?

Hi,
Enermax 465 range........my personnel opinion. But I started with a QTEC, then went to Eneramx 365 then Enermax 465.....and then brought another for other system because they are very good.
Price....Hmmm..... how much is system worth? How would you feel if you brought a cheap 600W PSU and your system blew up??? I paid £50 inc P&P via Ebay each PSU (About $80 US)
You can increase the BUS on North/South bridges, not the volts........If your components can handle the voltages you are using....fine. I would advise setting system to standard, running a benchmark (Save so you can compare) and then tweaking up and benching system until you acheive STABILITY/PERFORMANCE.
Example:
I can set system to POST at 4Ghz but it won't load windows!!!!!!

  • Re: Best Practices for installing/running UCES Application

I'm facing some technical challenges setting up NWDI 7.4 for UCES 6.05 development.
First of all, out of all the required SCs for FSCM_DB, there's one (namely UMEADMIN) that cannot be checked in. I have checked in all the other SCs; the correct UMEADMIN SCA file is also in the inbox directory. So not sure why it's not visible for check-in?
Then, when setting up NWDS (v7.0.30), I highlighted all the DCs under both FSCM_DB and SAP-UCES and created a project based on those. After that, I don't see the DC fscm/bd/web/shared in the J2EE DC Explorer. But I need to modify the jsp files in there. What am I doing wrong here?
Also, when I setup FSCM_BD as a dependent SC, I chose "Source" as package type (instead of "Source and Archive") because I read a post somewhere. Not sure if that is the correct choice?
Could the experts here please give me some pointers?
    Thanks!
    Eddy

    Hi Eddy,
You can add FSCM_BD as independent SC to the same track where you've added UCES SC.
Please select "Source and Archive" for FSCM_BD SC as well and try once again.
Once you check in the archives, sync your track by updating / re-importing the track configurations in NWDS,
    Hope this helps!!!

  • Best practice for running multiple sites on 1 CF install?

    Hi-
I'm setting up a new hosting environment (Windows Server 2008 Standard 64 bit VPS  configuration, MySQL, IIS 7, CF 9)
Has anyone seen any docs or can anyone suggest best practices for configuring multiple sites in this environment? At this point I'm thinking simple is best, one new site in IIS for each client (domain) and point it to CF.
Given this environment, is anyone aware of any gotchas within the setup of CF 9 on IIS 7?
    Thank you in advance,
    Rich

There's nothing wrong with that approach. You can run as many IIS sites as you like against a single CF install.
As for installing CF on IIS 7, I recommend that you do the following: install CF 9 without connecting it to IIS, then installing the 9.0.1 upgrade and any hotfixes, then connecting CF to IIS using the web server configuration utility. This will keep you from having to install the IIS 6 compatibility layer that's needed with CF 9 but not with CF 9.0.1.

  • What is the best solution for me to run Microsoft Access on my brand new iMAC?  Assume I'm a casual user.

What is the best solution for me to run Microsoft Access on my brand new iMAC?  Assume I'm a casual user.
I am lead to believe by some real smart guys on the Apple site that If I have the Apple Store partition my iMAC and add the full suite of Office products on that partition, I can run the few Access programs I have and need to run.
Comments encouraged.  Thank you in advance for your consideration and help.

You would have to install Windows, then install Microsoft Office Professional for Windows on it  To install Windows you will have to choose between Boot Camp (faster, free) and a Virtual Machine (simpler, slower, easier to backup)
You should try LibreOffice (free), it can open Access files, it may not have all Access's feature set though, worth a try.

  • What's the best Mac for running Final Cut Pro X?

Title says it all. What's the best Mac for running Final Cut Pro X? I'm not looking to make a feature length hollywood film. But I'd like to be able to edit video without lag.

Yes. Begin with the fastest processor / graphics card / and as much RAM as you can afford. (As all three will become obsolete over time.)
I started from scratch. I have a 27-inch iMac with a 3.4 G Intel Core i7. (currently the fastest processor for an iMac) I also ordered the best graphics card--AMD Ratheon HD. I ordered 16G of RAM, but recently added more RAM to equal 24G. (OWC makes good after-market RAM for iMACs.)
Last, I ordered a flash drive / SATA hard drive combo.  (250G on flash / ITB on SATA). The OS and all of my applications run off the flash drive. (for fast start up!)
I put all of my media and FCP projects onto the SATA hard drive.
Now, I had the option to order a 2TB SATA. But, I realized I can always buy more external storage as I edit more and more projects. ALSO! FCPX is GREAT when it comes to editing projects on external drives! I can segregate an entire project and its media files onto a removeable drive. I simply launch FCPX, plug in the drive and--poof!--I'm ready to edit. It sees the project and the media right away. When I'm done editing, I can then send this drive to another editor (also using FCPX) or attach it to my MacBook if I want to edit the same project in the field.
This has worked for me. I wish you luck.

  • What are the best options for running windows on a Mac Pro

what are the best options for running windows on a Mac Pro

For gaming and other CPU intensive stuff: Boot Camp – https://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
For the rest: any virtualization software (Parallels/Vmware Fusion/VirtualBox)

  • What is the best solution for running windows based programs

I have one program that I need windows for.  What is the best solution for doing this without painfully slowing down my mac.

    Depends on your needs.
BootCamp requires reboot and uses all physical resources of the system.  Only OSX *or* Windows can run.  Better for gaming or memory intensive tasks.  BootCampAssistant must set up the boot sector to make it work.  Also BCA required to remove it.
VM (virtual machine) like Parallels which "hosts" Windows while still running OSX.  You split RAM between the two environments.  VM is just another program so no special boot sector changes needed, but not good for graphics or RAM intensive programs.
Other recommended alternates to Parallels (paid) are VM Fusion (paid) and VirtualBox (free download from Oracle.com).

  • What is the best product for keeping a mac pro running fast?

What is the best product for keeping my mac pro running at optimal speed?

Enough RAM. More than just so there are no pageouts.
A fast small SSD for boot system drive that is only OS and apps and 50% free
Backup clones of your system and data plus TimeMachine
Avoid security suites from 3rd parties and other would be helpers (unless instructed to for a specific need and purpose).
Replace and update older components. could be graphic card, no longer suffices wtih Lion, or causes heat and dust. And make sure that the fans cool the system properly. May need to boost the low default fan speed profile and that is one utility that can be a must. Also monitor system temp readings.
Don't jusst idly restart after a crash or freeze, use Lion Recovery Mode and Safe Boot instead.
Make backup clone before making updates and changes to your system.

  • Your opinion on the best web server (for JSP) running on a NT or IIS

    HI,
Just a question : in your opinion what's the best way for work with JSP (which needjdbc 2.0) on a NT computer (or IIS) ?
    Is it Tomcat, JWSDK,...
    Thanks for replying.

I already install Tomcat 3.2, but it give me (when I load my JSP pages) different error as JWSDK1.0.1 and , for sure, my code is correct : the only thing which convinced me to change my JAVA server is that I need to use the Resulset.first method (implemented in JDBC 2.0).
    Why ?
Or have we got other JAVA web server

  • Elite HPE-180t & ATI HD 4650 - Best Way for 3 Monitors?

The ATI Eyefinity requires the third monitor to be a display port or dongle.  You will also need a different video card.
Go to www.newegg.com and look over the ATI 5670 and 5750.  Look at carefully at the card's connection ports.  This ATI 5670  card should work along with an adapter for your third monitor.  There are also other choices for cards but some may be double wide so you need to see if a double wide would fit.  You PC has 460 watt PSU so keep that in mind when chosing a card.

  • Best OS for mid 2009 MacBook Pro?

    Hi everyone,
I have a MacBook Pro from mid 2009 with the following specs:
2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
I had OSX Lion on it with no problems, but recently decided to upgrade to Mountain Lion to be able to use the Messages app on the computer. For the first few days, upgrading had seemed to speed everything up! The Messages app is super buggy, but I was very happy to have upgraded. At this time I also created a new user and copied over about 400 GB of data from my desktop. Everything worked fine after this for a while... but a month later, things have gotten BAD. Applications take forever to open, everything is sluggish. I've tried repairing disk permissions, but it hasn't helped.
I'm wondering if maybe Mountain Lion is too much for the computer? Does anyone have any experiences to report about performance? I think I'm going to do a complete wipe and reinstall of the OS, and am wondering if I should go back to Lion, stick with Mountain Lion, or maybe even upgrade to Mavericks or Yosemite (though I suppose those would be too much for the computer).
    Any insights or experience welcome!
    Thanks.

My personal opinion is that Snow Leopard is the best OSX for your MBP.  It still is the most efficient from Apple.
If you need applications that will only run on newer OSXs, then that is not an option for you.
Have you gone into the recovery partition and opened Disk Utility>First Aid?
Also consider installing the maximum RAM (8 GB) that you MBP will accept, especially of you have thoughts about Yosemite.  An SSD would speed things up, but the cost is still rather high.
    Ciao

So I basically won't run into any trouble? I
There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that.  You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

Is there any chance that the phones can fall out of sync?
Unlikely. But nothing is impossible.   Though I don;t see how that would happen. As long as both are signed into the Same Apple ID / iCloud Account they will be N'Sync. (Bad Joke)

If I get a message or buy an app or take a photo on the iPhone 5, how do I get those things onto the iPhone 6?
If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.
Images, can be transferred either through Photo Stream
My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
Or any Cloud service you want such as Dropbox, or One Drive.

Also, something i forgot to ask initially: Should I update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8 first or does that not matter?
If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important.

  • Best Practices For Household IOS's/Apple IDs

    Greetings:
I've been searching support for best practices for sharing primarily apps, music and video among multple iOS's/Apple IDs.  If there is a specific article please point me to it.
    Here is my situation:
We currently have 3 iPads (2-kids, 1-dad) in the household and one iTunes account on a win computer.  I previously had all iPads on single Apple ID/credit card and controlled the kids' downloads thru the Apple ID password that I kept secret.  As the kids have grown older, I found myself constantly entering my password as the kids increased there interest in music/apps/video.  I like this approach because all content was shared...I dislike because I was constantly asked to input password for all downloads.
So, I recently set up an individual account for them with the allowance feature at iTunes that allows them to download content on their own (I set restrictions on their iPads).  Now I have 3 Apple IDs under one household.
    My questions:
With the 3 Apple IDs, what is the best way to share apps, music, videos among myself and the kids?  Is it multiple accounts on the computer and some sort of sharing?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Bonesaw1962,
We've had our staff and students run iOS updates OTA via Settings -> Software Update. In the past, we put a DNS block on Apple's update servers to prevent users from updating iOS (like last fall when iOS 7 was first released). By blocking mesu.apple com, the iPads weren't able to check for or install any iOS software updates. We waited until iOS 7.0.3 was released before we removed the block to mesu.apple.com at which point we told users if they wanted to update to iOS 7 they could do so OTA. We used our MDM to run reports periodically to see how many people updated to iOS 7 and how many stayed on iOS 6. As time went on, just about everyone updated on their own.
If you go this route (depending on the number of devices you have), you may want to take a look at Caching Server 2 to help with the network load https://www.apple.com/osx/server/features/#caching-server . From Apple's website, "When a user on your network downloads new software from Apple, a copy is automatically stored on your server. So the next time other users on your network update or download that same software, they actually access it from inside the network."
I wish there was a way for MDMs to manage iOS updates, but unfortunately Apple hasn't made this feature available to MDM providers. I've given this feedback to our Apple SE, but haven't heard if it is being considered or not. Keeping fingers crossed.
Hope this helps. Let us know what you decide on and keep us posted on the progress. Good luck!!
