Best quicktime export settings - compression - from final cut pro

i have done this for a while. still don't know.
to translate an ntsc 24p project onto a dvd, which export settings (compressor)do you use in final cut pro? i use current settings, and once i am done with idvd ("best quality") it just doesn't look high quality. is this an idvd question?
powermac g5 2.7 ghz dual   Mac OS X (10.4)   2.5 gb ram

I didn't know iDVD could handle 24fps project. Or is it a 29.97 (23.98 with a pulldown).
Best quality in iDVD just means that it works on it longer to compress it more to fit more on disk. Have you tried Best Speed version?

  • How do I export a project from Final Cut Pro onto my desktop?

How do I export a project from Final Cut Pro to my desktop as a movie?

Can anyone please help me.. when I click on my timeline in my project library and try to export movie nothing happens! and when I  try to "share" to youtube I get an error message stating that it cannot be exported because it contains "no video"... The 4 minute music video that I've created with shots off my Canon T2i looks and plays great....If I uploaded the videos into Final Cut but did not save them on my desktop or anywhere else on the Mac would this be a reason to get this message? I have never experienced this before...the only option under "share" that works is "email"

  • What compression to use when Exporting HD video from final cut pro PAL setting

    Hi there
I'm trying to export my HD video from Final cut Pro so that I can edit it in DVD studio Pro. I initially exported it on H.264 setting however it then gives me the message 'NTSC assets cannot be imported into PAL projects' It was edited with PAL setting so I think it must be the conversion but i'm not sure which option to use.....been really struggling to get the 1 hour footage under 4.5gb without losing too much quality...
    Any advice greatly appreciated!
    thanks

    Just to add two suggestions.
    1) Consider putting your four movies on two disks.
    2) Bring your movies into Compressor and duplicate the stock DVD setting. In the Encoding pane of the Inspector, select a CBR and dial it back to around 6.2 to 6.5 Mbs. In Preview mark a small section and submit; you'll get 2 elementary streams, with m2v and AC3 extensions. Bring that into DVDSP and evaluate results. Adjust as necessary. (This is to avoid waiting out very long encodes and then having to start again from scratch if you get disappointing results.)

  • Exporting 'flv' files from Final Cut Pro

    Hi,
I was wondering if there was such a program that would export
'flv' files straight from Final Cut Pro time line for my mac. I
know that you can purchase Adobe Flash which enables this, however
I don't wish to buy the whole program. Is there a video encoder
program or something that you can purchase that will enable me to
    export from FCP?

Not sure about FCP, tho I would expect the latest Final Cut
Studio to be able to do
    it.
    Anyway,
Quick Time Player can export MOV to FLV. Not sure whether
    it's the regular player,
I'm having the PRO version for many years and this one allow
    that kind of export.
You being a Mac user, I guess that's the easiest and cheapest
way to get FLV out of your
    available tools.

  • I can't export my video from final cut pro.

I'm having trouble exporting anything from final cut pro x because there isn't any share button that I was use to before. It pretty much seems like there are no options seeing as they have simplified it to the point where there are no longer any options. Anyways here is a screen shot of my final cut hopefully someone will be able to help me.

The Share menu changed in 10.0.6, and is now customizable from the Preferences of FCPX:
You find the Share menu to the far right in the toolbar, as dastoelk wrote.
(The screenshoots he posted is missing here, so here you go again)

  • Best Way to import items from final cut pro

I have recently edited a video in final cut pro studio 1 and them compressed the file for dvd studio. However when i came to look for my file it was as a quicktime movie that dvd studio could not see. ie when i came to locate the file i dvd studio it did not show up when other files had. I tried rebooting the program but alas it still could not find it.
Can someone tell me a better way or what i have done wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul Andrews

Best way is to export from Final Cut (either self contained or to Compressor) and then encode the video to m2v (using Compressor or other encoder) and audio to AC3 then bring those files into DVD SP

As to why the file is not being seen, are you sure you exported to the path you are looking at? Just try exporting to the desktop to make sure you know where it is.
If you have more details on the workflow it will help (such as how you exported, where to, what types of files, etc.)

  • Exporting Canon XHA1 from final cut pro?

I have a problem with my export. my footage plays fine in my browser when playing on final cut pro (before export). i have been exporting for YOU TUBE as a quick time conversion (mp2 & mp4) but when i play it back the footage cant keep up with the sound. the quality is ok (could be better) but the footage jumps.
i imported on sequence preset 1080i50. is this correct or can someone suggest something else.
im not sure what the best settings are if someone could please help. i want the footage to keep its quality but it also has to be compatible with you tube.
    thanks

ok, your description is a little confused. What version of FCS are you using? In 3 the Share to YouTube works just fine. Are you trying to export a 1920x1080 image? If so that might be an issue. I note that you're running a G5. It might be time to move that forward a little bit.

  • Exporting to motion from final cut pro

I have a anamorfic DV sequence in final cut pro. When ever I slow down a clip in the sequence or add a video filter and then export to MOtion it sends it without iits effects or speed changes.

yes, that is correct. there is a section in the motion manual devoted to integration with fcp. on page 960 of the pdf manual it states, "When exporting to Motion, Final Cut Pro does not export properties omitted from the
list above, such as filters, generators, and transitions. Time remapping and speed
    changes also are not exported."

  • Propper Compressions: from Final Cut Pro to DVD Studio Pro?

Ok, so i have a project on Final Cut Pro, what are the right compressions that i would need to do to get my project to DVD Studio Pro?

First take a long look at the manual and the tutorial.
Then elect the preset in Compressor that fit to the total length of your movie. Less than 90 minutes = 90 minute preset for video. Whatever yours is.
Then encode audio in compressor to Dolby 2.
Best to do the DVD SP tutorial. Your question is basic.
    good luck

  • How to export flv file from Final Cut Pro?

I'm using Final Cut Pro and try to export edited video in "Flv" format. However, there is no such choice and only "Flc" available? My friend has the same version of Final Cut Pro and there is "Flv" format to choice, why?

I use QT conversion: file > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion >
Then, under Format I only have "3G, AIFF, FLC, iPod, QuickTime Movie...", no "Flash video (FLV)" as my friend's computer?

  • Can't Export Any Videos From Final Cut Pro X?

    Hello all-
I just downloaded FInal Cut Pro X today, and as I tried exporting my first video to YouTube, I found I had no luck. I am able to select the option to export to YouTube, enter in my account details, edit the video preferences, but when I click submit nothing happens. The little export box just disappears. This happens for every single one of my share options.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'm a little peeved that I just spent 300 dollars on a software that doesn't even let me export the video.
    Thanks much,
    Megan

  • How to export a movie from Final Cut Pro X?

    Hi There,
I've been away from FCP for a while using Premier but I have an FCPX project that I need to export a preview from.
I've tried "Sharing" a YouTube movie but it wants an account so I tried using "Apple Devices 1080p". But I get no dialogue to save it and no feedback that anything is happening - nor do I know where FCPX actually saved it (assuming it exported it).
I also tried adding a new sharing destination but none of the destination options make sense - rather I didn't see anything I wanted to share to (DVD, BluRay etc).
I'm currently downloading the PDF manual but this seems like such a basic thing to want to do that I'm pretty sure I'm missing something simple - so thought I'd post here.
Put simply, how do I export a preview file to my desktop?

Or just export an H.264, which PC's can play back just fine, especially via the web.  I've never had issues with my clients.
    http://www.macprovideo.com/hub/final-cut/preparing-video-web-quicktime-compresso r
You can do H.264 direcly out of FCP X without going to compressor.  You'll need to purchase "Flip4Mac" to export WMV files, which I rarely have to use for my PC clients.  You can create a Bundle in your Share preferences to do it all in one operation, too.

  • Export a file from Final Cut Pro for friend in Soundtrack Pro

I have a video artist who I am helping with audio. At first we just used an omf file that worked great, it's just a pain to get all the levels/automation reset. Is there an easy way to do this with Final Cut to Soundtrack Pro? Thanks a million

Final Cut Pro has an OMF export function: File > Export > Audio to OMF.
There is also: File > Export > For Soundtrack
and: File > Send To > Soundtrack Pro Multitrack Project.

  • Can I export a project from Final Cut Pro X to FCE?

    Hello All,
I have the most current version of FCE and I am about to purchase FCPX.  It looks like FCPX won't export to tape so that is why I want to export it to FCE and then to tape.  Can this be done?
    Thanks,
    Mike

You can export a QuickTime Movie from FCPX. Take to movie to FCE and print to video from there.
