Best smart phone for pre-paid?

What is the best smart phone available for Verizon Pre-Paid?  For example, if I buy a Galaxy S III (or an iPhone, or some other high-end smart phone) can I activate it on my current pre-paid plan?  I sent this question to Verizon support, but got no answer...  Thanks you for replies !!!

Backing up Ann154 on 3G devices supported on prepay, just a little more information to add.
Just a few devices that can be used on Prepay services:
Iphone 4                 Samsung Illusion
Iphone 4s               Samsung Reality
Droid X                   LG Octane (New)
Droid X2
Droid 2
Droid 3
There are quite a few more, if you find a device and would like verification i would contact Prepay at 888-294-6804.
Keep in mind with the Prepay services for Smart Phones, You would have the option to choose between 2 monthly plans:
60.00 Plan : Unlimited Talk and Text, Unlimited Text, 2GB of Data
70.00 Plan : Unlimited Talk and Text, Unlimited Text, 4GB of Data
The 60.00 and the 70.00 Plans have been revised to offer more data

  • Best smart phone

which is the best smart phone to use daily in india.. which has only best features.. and pefect in all its feature .. like camera, touch, speaker, 3g, etc etc... pls dont give me a link.. i want user review..feel free to write your experience

You can find plenty of user reviews by searching google. There's 1000's of them out there.
You haven't specified your budget and finding a model thats "perfect in all its features" is pretty much impossible for any brand.
I would say that based on features and quality the best Nokia that's currently available is the N8. I've had one for a while now and it's been trouble free and a pleasure to use.

  • I have what I consider the best smart phone on the market, but I resently upgraded my Windows Vista PC to Windows 8 and my Itunes went away.  Is there anything that I did wrong or aren't the two compatible?

I have what I consider the best smart phone.  I recently upgraded my PC from Windows Vista to Windows 8 and my Itunes went away.  Did I do something wrong or aren't the two compatible?

If the update did not preserve all your Applications you may simply have to download iTunes again and instrall it on Windows 8.
There's nothing strange about an update not preserving installed Applications.

  • Smart phone for seniors

Was just wondering, can anyone recommend a smart phone for my dad, he's a senior and Needs something. I was reading about the senior simple smartphone, does telstra have these, cheers john

Good afternoon John In addition to the first response above....  if you are actually looking for a smart phone......... an iPhone is the simplest of the smart phones. If you can get the base model,  the previous model that Apple and Telstra still sells....  the  5C (all plastic, smaller memory) it is an excellent phone. The menu is the same as the 5S but the construction is lighter. Here is a link to Apple   http://www.apple.com/au/shop/buy-iphone/iphone5cHere is a link to Telstra (with plan) https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/mobiles-on-a-plan/iphone-5c?tc=G|E|D|TP|TPPH|PPHiPhone5cBrandJanusOrder&gclid=COaZyeG5kccCFUxvvAod0UQDtg&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJiD5eG5kccCFVEbvAodPc8O9w Hope that assists. I'm in that age senior group, but did work in the mobile phone industry.

  • Best prepaid phone for concert lighting ?

I'm finally getting rid of my dumb phone for a smart one...but i need to know which prepaid phone is the best for indoor concert colored lighting and movement?  Son has a verizon, I'm looking still, but that's really the most important feature for me.  Use the Ebay app, would love a few decent games, and I always get unlimited talk/text.  Thanks!

    Hello!  Welcome to the Forums!
Nokia is mostly correct in stating that Verizon will not normally allow their own No Contract or Prepaid phones to be activated onto a contract plan, but there is an exception to this.
Per Verizon, if the prepaid phone that is going to be activated to the contract account has been used as a prepaid phone on a prepaid plan for at least 6 months prior to being used on the contract plan, then it can be done. Before that point, Verizon's systems will not allow the prepaid ESN number to be activated on the contract plan.
Hope this helps clarify some information.
    Regards,
    Miranda
Don't take what I say as being absolute. There's always room for improvement.

  • Warning for Pre-Paid users! - cannot Activate iPhone if you exchange it!!

If you signed up for iPhone using pre-paid option, please be aware that if you need to exchange iPhone you will not be able to active your replacement iPhone!
I get the message: AT&T has determined your account cannot be used with the iPhone.
I believe this was a programming error.. policy will not let you convert a pre-paid goPhone to iPhone, but my account was activated on the iPhone and it very clearly has the iPhone data plan on it!
I spent 8 hours on the phone with AT&T today.. getting passed between at least 10 reps that were more or less helpless. Finally got a supervisor and they told me to call Apple because "everything was correct on their side!" Right, that's why the message says that "AT&T determined you can't use iPhone"
    What a joke!

    Well, that's good to know.
So half the problem is solved. (Is it an even split between Mac and Win
    ID users?)
But anyone running InDesign CC 64-bit is going to find that they are
unable to install many/most products on the much touted new Adobe Exchange.

  • How come when I ask my siri "What is the best smart phone ever?" it doesn't answer with the Nokia answer?

I'd like to understand why its not answering with the Nokia phone being the best. It was doing it over the weekend, but now it just answers with "Wait... there are other phones?". Never really cared for siri, but I thought it interesting that it gave a rival's smart phone as the answer. Not impressed Apple.

  • Whats the best mobile phone for syncing to macbook?

I am about to buy a mobile phone and i want to know which one is the best, for ease of connection?

Personally, I would recommend any of the later Sony Ericsson models. Either the K800 or K610 (supported in iSync 2.4), or any of the additional models supported by iSync Phone Plugins from here.
You can see what data is synced on the page linked above. You can also use them with the Mac Address Book for SMS and Calls.

  • Best CDMA Phones for Mac - Suggestions Sought

Anyone have any suggestions on a good phone to sync w/my MacBook Pro & iMac? I'm limping along with numerous steps using iCal import/export, PhoneDirector and iCal Dupe Deleter. There must be a better way! Plus, I want to get email on my phone now. Tethering capability needed, also.
iPhone is out-of-the-question as my carrier in Alaska only runs CDMA.
Alternatively, any REAL solutions for CDMA iPhone compatibility?
    Thanks in advance-

I hear good things about the Skull Candy earphones. I mean if you want the best, Bose, Beats by Dre are 2 of the best earphones, but they're over $100..haha

  • What is the best PDA/Phone for a Mac?

I know all the new pda's sync with Outlook. What are the best solutions for us Mac users? I just use Mail/Address/Calendar but could also use Entourage if that was a better solution for synching with PDA's such as Windows Mobile or Palm.

I use a Treo 650 and find it great. Address and phone info on my contacts also my calendar. ... I sync it to my desktop computer (G5) and sync my powerbook via .Mac.
I use Apple's iCal and Address book

  • Smart Phone For Dad

Hi all. I have questions--dumb ones, so I apologize in advance.
I would like to buy an iPhone for my dad for father's day. I live in Florida, he lives in Atlanta and has an Atlanta phone number. If I bought it here in Florida, could the Best Buy team set it up with his current Atlanta phone number, or do we have to take the phone to Atlanta to have it activated?
Are there any functions available without it being activated first? Like, could I upload photos and show him how to use the phone?
Thanks to all. I would have asked the employees at Best Buy directly, but they don't even answer the phone at the Fort Lauderdale location.
    -Jacy

It would have to be activated at the time of purchase, because the price without activation starts at $700.

  • Smart Phone for Mac user/ Medical Student

Trying to find a smartphone that will integrate well with my mac. I'll be using it for email, calls, texts, dates, drug refrences, and everything else a medical student can cram into a pda type device. I was looking at the BlackBerry Curve, Treo, and ATT's 8125 (or something like that). Any recomendations? Thanks

Unfortunately, Sprint don't appear to offer a single iSync compatible phone. This is probably because they are a CDMA network, and most iSync compatible phones use GSM, the network standard used almost everywhere else in the world.
Also, by wanting to avoid using The Missing Sync range of products you limit your choices to just Blackberry devices, which can by synced with Blackberry's Desktop Manager for Mac software:
    http://www.blackberry.com/mac/
I can't comment on how reliable this software is though.
Realistically, if you want a limited choice of iSync compatible phones you're going to have to switch to a GSM network provider, (if you want to choose between hundreds of iSync compatible phones you'll have to move to Europe).

  • Smart phones for blind users

Strange as it may seem blind people do use mobile phones, however many features are wasted, to access something as simple as a message you need a separate program such as "Nuance Talks" that costs as much as the phone!
Now Nokia is half way there with the speech for some functions so how much harder to take the extra step and include text to speech from the screen?
For those people "on the go" just think how handy to press a button and hear the message in your bluetooth device! or scroll down your contacts list without having to look at your screen!
Please Nokia, the world has many poorly sighted people, take the step and make an effort to make phones "accessible"!

For blind people the symbian wont be pain...and yes it will be helpful to them. Follow the link, send them your thought and see what happens.
Besides, they dont have to check the existing RAM

  • Even with the reception issue: iPhone 4 is still the BEST smart phone

Don't you Agree? I mean, c'mon, no phone this thin right now in the market can actually compare, yes?
Doesn't it feel as though our phones are a step ahead in technology ALL THE TIME? (except for the reception part).
    It's still a badd handheld.
    Peace
    <Edited by Host>

The Droid Phones look massive. The Blackberry phones just plain suck. Once they fix the reception problem with iPhone, I believe iPhone 4 owners will have a different, far advanced world, than the rest who don't have an iPhone 4.
I am very vocal about my disdain on the problems; but I am moreso against AT&T's network than anything else.
I did the network reset, the 3G connection on and off thing, and finally the sim refresh and it appears to be capturing 1400kps download consistently now. Try that.
But yes, wow, what a phone this is. I believe deep within us, amidst these glitches, we walk around proud to have this new iPhone. I truly believe that.
PS: Imagine how cool it is that we are the only phones that actually EASILY move EVERYTHING from one old iPhone to a new version through our personal laptops. We have a standard platform that is cool (iTunes). We have cousin products. We are in a different world, I believe

  • Best PAYG phone for 3G SIM?

I have a 3G PAYG sim that does not work in my old Nokia1100 phone can anyone recommend a reasonably priced phone?I live in a poor signal area in Mid Wales where the broadband is also slow.

That depends really on whether you want to purchase from the EE shop where there could be a top up needed.
There are many sim free 3G phones out there both new and used from auction sites or trade in centres.
Do you have a budget, is there any preference a typical price for a new 3G phone is around £40-£50
