Best Sprint Phone with Isync?

The Treo is too much for my wife. She wants a Sprint phone that syncs reliably and easily with iCal and Address Book. Can anyone recommend a phone to us?

At first glance, your choice appears to be limited, if not non-existent.
Sprint don't seem to offer any Sony Ericsson handsets, and just one each of Nokia and Motorla. All these manufacturers are the best supported in iSync.
Can you consider a different network provider?

What Is Best Feature Phone with Texting

I love my Droid, but am starting to think I am wasting too much money for the benefit of web access. It's fun and neat to have, but I don't need it. I just cancelled my Netflix account and premium cable movie channels and am thinking about ditching my Droid. What is the best feature phone with qwert texting capability?

Kind of like asking who the best team/player in baseball or basketball or hockey or Nascar or Opera is. My family uses the following phones all with no major problems. Samsung Intensity II, Pantech Jest, LG Octane, LG Cosmos, KIN TWOm and Samsung Zeal. All with QWERTY Keyboards. Most are high volume(1,000's) texters.

I accidentally deleted all my calendar information on my Nokia E90. I have all the information on my iCal but if I now sync the phone with it to my understanding the iCal information will be deleted as well. How can I restore the calendar information back to my phone?

Click the icon for your phone in iSync, then choose Reset Device from the Devices menu.
It's also advisable to make a backup of your Contacts and Calendars first using the relevant command on the File menu in both Address Book and iCal.

Trouble Syncing Motorola Phone with iSync

I have a T-Mobile Motorola RAZR V3 mobile phone, & I'm trying to sync it with iSync, but after I paired my phone with my PowerBook it keeps saying "not connected" & refuses to connect. It synced fine under Tiger & fine under Leopard when I ran the upgrade install, but after I recently ran an archive & install to correct a few other issues now my phone won't sync.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sprint Phones - Best For iSync and Music

It's time for a new cell phone. I've seen lists of phones that "could" work with my Mac, but I am asking all those users out there, what is the best Sprint phone that will work with my Mac, iSync and also where I can put my music on it. Are there reviews out there with suggestions?
I'd love to have an iPhone, but we don't even have and AT&T store around here and I heard the service is horrible. I really would love to have a cell phone that works with my Mac. Please throw me any help or suggestions!

As Sprint/Nextel—like Verizon—is primarily a CDMA carrier, your choices are limited.
To begin with, no Nextel iDEN mobile handset is supported by iSync. CDMA mobile handsets commonly offered under the Sprint segment do not use industry-standard SyncML or other protocols, are are therefore not supported by iSync.
Your best bet is to choose a smartphone: one powered by the Blackberry, Palm or Windows Mobile OS, and use a third party product like the Missing Sync application which matches the operating system of your device.
Sprint is set to release the Palm Pre, a rather revolutionary touch device somewhat like the iPhone, but which uses Palm's new Linux based kernel. It is quite likely to be supported by a yet unreleased product from Mark/Space.

I need to get a new phone and we use Sprint. Would like to get a phone that I can sync with Ical and address book but don't really need email/web capabilities...any suggestions?

Note that some networks - I believe Sprint is one - both rename/renumber devices and have capability deliberately crippled so ensure you make it clear when purchasing that you want to use it with iSync so that you can return if it fails to do so.

What's the smallest, coolest phone that syncs reliably over BT with iSync?

I've been using a Treo 600 & 650 for the last several years. I've been very pleased with it, and it syncs reliably to Address Book and iCal. I'm now out of contract with Sprint and can change carriers if I wish. I don't really need the larger PDA phone and would consider something smaller that syncs reliably over BT with iSync?
Any recommendations?

1) Some revisions of motorola phones have a problem over BT so if you have on of these revisions you will have to use USB
2) On Motorola phone, one contact is one phone number (it's Motorola's out-dated database, you can't change it). However, Motorola is aware of this problem so it included a way in the phone's Address Book settings to "coalesce" phone numbers that have the same contact name.

I don't know what phone Verizon offers but I can tell you both of my Sony Ericsson T610 and K700 syncs perfectly with iSync.
No problem what-so-ever.
If iSync 100% works with your phone, I think iSync is simply the best.
BTW, I have problem with my new RAZR V3 with iSync.

Images taken with a Sprint phone are jpgs but unreconizable in iPhoto

Help. I am trying to import photos into iPhoto that were taken with my sprint phone. I emailed them to myself, downloaded them to the desktop, but when I tried to pull them into iPhoto it says it's unrecognizable format. I found one article that says to change them to a RBG format. When I tried this, my photos were in an Adobe RBG 1998 color profile. It would let me change the profile, but not save it. It keeps reverting back to the old profile, even if I do a save as and save it as a new file. I don't know what to try next.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Another method you can use is to download and run this Automator workflow application on the files before importing: Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile. You can download it from Toad's Cellar.
Run a test on a duplicate single file to make sure the app will convert the photos correctly. Then if all is well you can drop all of the files on the app at one time to batch convert them.

What's a good cell phone from Cingular that integrates well with iSync

I just purchased a Nokia 6102i from Cingular after their sales lady said the phone worked with iSync. I told her I didn't see the model listed on the Apple iSync supported phones web page, but she said not to worry. Well, the phone just arrived and when I tried to iSync it with my Address Book, I'm getting an iSync window saying: "This device is not supported by ISnyc."
No big deal, I'll just return the phone, but next attempt, I want to get a model from Cingular that works well with iSync. Can anyone advise me? Perhaps a Razor, but what I might really want is a smart phone.

I can answer the last part of that question. I'm disappointed the Nokia 6102i will not transmit photos via bluetooth to my Mac. iSyncing addresses and calendar works like a champ, just not sending photos (and I suppose other files) from the phone. However, on my MBP, I can open up the Bluetooth File Exchange program and both get the 6102i pics, as well as send photos to the phone. So, not bad, there is a work around.

I have had a macbook for the past 7 months and have bee using isync on an irregular basis and with different mobile phones. So far it has been going well.
I have recently acquired a nokia 6230 and i have synced it with isync. I thought it had worked.
I realised the other day that a number of contacts are missing.
I went back to isync and tried to re-sync my phone to get the entries on my mac to be sent to my phone, but no. I sync seems to think that if a contact isn't present on my phone, then its not needed. The missing contacts are definatly on my mac (31 to be precise) and all i want to do is get them to be sent to my phone along with any other contacts i may add via address book in the future.
Any suggestions would be amazingly helpful!

ok fair play, you've helped hugely and its kinda impressive
its work, exceot for one slight problem, theres about 20 contacts that sync differently compared to the others. They appear with a dash before the name e.g. - John....
any ideas?? like its easy to fix but its just seriously annoying.

After a re-install of OS X 10.5.8 uninstalled the E71 in iSync and moved it out of the bluetooth-device list first and completely re-installed it using the bluetooth manager (SystemPreferences/Hardware).
No extra thirdparty-software involved and ever since no problems.

What's the best PDA to use with iSync/Powerbook

My old sony clie finally died and I need to get a new PDA. Can anyone give me advice on the simplest PDA that is known to work well with a Mac platform? I had been using documents to go in order to hotsync my palm-based PDA in the past, but things may have changed.

I have heard the same. Thanks to the link you referenced to me I know that I shouldn't need any further software to use a Palm device with iSync (unlike when I discovered that I needed Mark/Soft in order to sync my Clie). I am trying to decide between the basic Palm Z22 and the more advanced Palms. It would make a big difference if one could link directly from the iLife 06 suite to a Palm - it would make purchasing the fancy color screens on the more expensive Palms worth it to be able to carry around the family photo album.

Sprint Delay with Samsung GS3?

Sprint announced a delay in shipping these for preorders, is that going to affect when Best Buy gets them? I was the first to preorder with my Best Buy, but with the delay will they get any on launch day at all? I'm getting worried since you only have 72hrs to pick up a preorder and I'm going on vacation after Thursday and then I'd lose my place in line if it comes in while I'm on vacation.

Couple of suggestions for you. Add someone to your account that can pick it up for you. I would also advise going in and talking to the manager to advise them of your situation and that someone else will be picking up the phone for you. This way when they do they can ask for that manager and you shouldnt have any issues.
You might want to check late this evening or early tomorrow morning on line. If the phones are shipped to the stores today they should show up in their inventory which when going on line it will indicate the store has some available even though they are pre-orders and do not. When I was contemplating the EVO I noticed on line that some stores had them avaialble on the release date. After calling them they advised me that those phones were pre-orders and were showing up only because the store has to inventory all in-coming merchandise.
