Best Tablet for Mobile Gaming Questions (?)

Guys, right now, what's the best tablet out there for mobile gaming?  The best tablet/phone optimized for mobile gaming as well? (like Modern Combat 4, etc.) What's the tablet that has the best GPU? (I know Tegra 4 is around the corner but I only want to know what's out now) What are synthetic benchmarks? What's the opposite of synthetic benchmarks? Are these synthetic benchmarks?
GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex HD C24Z16 - Offscreen (1080p):
GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex HD C24Z16 - Onscreen:
GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex HD Fixed Timestep - Onscreen:
Is gfxbench.com pretty reliable? Thanks in adv!

I purchased the 9.8 x 6.9 inch tablet. I use the touch function for browsing
the web and most of the time for general work instead of the mouse. I use
the pen when working with Lightroom or Photoshop Elements  and plugins such
as Photomatix or Perfect Layers; any time when requiring delicate input.

  • Best Tablet for Windows 7?

    Hi,
Just installed Win7 64bit, and i can't seem to get my Graphire 1 to work. Wacom are not being particularly useful about helping me, they said to use a particular set of drivers which then set up a Bamboo folder etc and wouldn't recognise my tablet.
    so either :-
does anyone already have a Graphire 1 working ok in W7 64bit, and if so what's the trick? alternatively, what would your recommendations be for a new tablet - the best one for integrating w/ Photoshop and preferably as cheap as poss cos i'm on a budget.
    TIA.

You already have the bet tablet I've seen - a Wacom tablet. The one you're using is an older and possible unsupported model, so you may need a new one. The Intuos 4 is outstanding. The small version is all that you need. If you need to save money, try ebay for one that's slightly used, but one way or another, I'd strongly recommend the Intuous line. The quality is exceptional.

  • Best solution for Windows gaming in OS X environment

    Hello!
What would be the best solution to play Windows games in OX X environment - Parallels or VMWare?  (iMac 2012)
I do know that is would be best for performace just to make a separate installation of Windows via BootCamp, but I need to run Windows in OS X environment only.
I just obtained a custom-built iMac with 680MX onboard and would like to switch to Mac completely from my PC. But gaming is one of the most important aspect of my compure use. So I would like to have the ability to play as I did on PC without constant annoying reloading of the machine.

Wine is going to give you better performance over any VM for games. It supports a great deal of DirectX 9 games and DirectX 10 support is planned for the coming months.
Give Barrel a try (http://barrelapp.co.uk). It's an app I developed that lets you install, run and manage windows games on OS X 10.7+ by using Wine, that was designed with usability I mind. If you try it and have any questions ask and I'll answer them.
Alternatives are wineskin and crossover for Mac.

  • Google doesn't recognize tablet for mobile

    Hello,
I have the following problem: My muse site has a responsive tablet site, because I don't like the small phone layouts. So if one opens my site on a phone (or tablet) the tablet site is shown. But, and thats a real problem, google doesn't recognize the tablet version as a mobile site. So google sees my site as not mobile friendly and with the new algorithms that will be a big problem.
Has anybody a idea how to fix this? Besides to make a phone site, because I really don't like them.
Thank you all so much for your answers!
    Lydia

    Hi Lydia,
You need to make sure that your site fulfils the Google guideline, as you are using two different layouts, this is what you need to do,
Separate URLs — Webmaster's Mobile Guide
Do let me know if you have any question.

  • What is the best tablet for using photoshop for professional editing??

Okay, I know Apple and their ipads are popular.  But popularity is not what I'm looking for.  I'm looking for compatibility, between photoshop and the tablet itself.  I want to get over using the mouse for everything.  I'm not quite sure if apple is the best choice.  Or is it?
I'm very new to all this tablet stuff. lol  Please advise
Oh my goodness.  Is the Ipad not advanced enough for a full blown photoshop program?! I geuss I overestimated them. Goodness.  It really is just a on the go kind of thing?....  Again. I'm new to this whole tablet thing.  So if you guys know anything. Please advise lol.  I'm a complete Newbie.

Windiv, 'Tablet' - the generic term is used differently for each context. iPad is a generic tablet. While for Photoshop editing, you need a tablet such as Wacom Intuos - they're 'design tablets' in specific. They have 'full-blown' capabilities with Photoshop and majority of other Professional Graphic softwares.

  • What is the best tablet for photoshop editing?

For Christmas I want to get my dad a tablet (I guess this is what they are called? With the pen?) for editing his photos on the computer. He loves editing his pictures on Adobe Lightroom, but always complains about the mouse giving him trouble. So without asking my Dad questions and giving the gift idea away, it would be awesome if you could give me some input, advice, and suggestions. Thank you. I'm so excited about surprising my Daddy this Christmas!

  • Configuring HP Stream Tablets for increased gaming performance

A lot of Windows games (most in fact) can be downloaded and installed with their installers from their respective websites or Steam, etc.  Other games can be obtained in the Windows Store (green and white icon that looks like a shopping bag). Many Windows Phone apps/games have Windows availability also, and visa versa, nowadays.
In a lot of games you may have to lower the graphics options to make the game run faster and perform better - but that doesn't mean they won't still be fun to play. It really just depends on the game and how good you can make it look without sacrificing performance. You can test settings and then adjust as needed to get the ideal configuration for each game on your tablet. Some games may not run at all if the RAM (memory) requirements aren't met, as 1 GB is pretty low anymore.
That being true, many games will run pretty well with only 1 GB RAM. Be sure to close all other background programs you can to free up CPU/memory and disk I/O performance. You can also open Task Manager (shortcut is ALT CTRL DELETE) or right click on the taskbar to access it - and go into the Details tab and right click on the running game or application you want, and choose "Set Priority" and set it to "Above Normal" this will devote more CPU cycles/resources to that game or app, thus making it perform better and run a little faster. This isn't going to fix all performance issues but it may help a little bit.
Another thing to increase performance is close anything you don't need from the taskbar tray (by default in the lower right corner of the screen). If it is possible for you to run a Steam game with Steam closed (by going to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\game name\ )  and clicking the game's .EXE file directly to run it without the Steam app running - it will further save CPU and memory and provide faster performance in the game.
It may help to update your graphics driver. The tablet uses an Intel graphics core. You can obtain the latest driver here or here. (Be patient because it might seem to freeze for a few seconds, give it a minute or so and it should progress forward and continue).
You can also disable unneeded things from running on login/startup to further increase performance. This is done via Task Manager on the Startup tab. Just right-click on the various items you want to disable from loading on startup and choose "disable" and they won't open on startup anymore. I already explained how to access Task Manager above.
Advanced Users Only: If you want to tune your system even more, you can run services.msc (or navigate to Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools\Services) and set certain things to manual or disabled (since those you actually need these can vary widely do not adjust these unless you know what you are doing or look up what each service does or what requires it to be running). For a good guide, check out Black Viper's guide for Windows 8.1 here and for Windows 10 here. Again, please be careful and only adjust these if you understand what you're doing.
I hope these tips help! They should aide you in getting the maximum performance in games on your tablet. Good luck!

I would recommend you to go for 2 WGA600N one for each...

  • Tablet for a non-tech boss

What is the best tablet for a construction guy who is non-tech?  He wants it to show pictures to customers so doesn't need a lot of extras other than email and internet. One of his customers has an IPad and he likes that. I'm just not sure which tablet would be less aggravating for him. Where we live (rural) virtually no wi-fi. We do have AT&T as our wireless provider.
    Appreciate any advice!

I recommend the IPAD MINI. It is easy to carry, comes with a 5 megapixel camera and so much more.

  • Design considerations for mobile version of website

My company has just implemented a new version of our coporate website using Oracle Portal, and ADF. However we do not have comprehensive mobile support but it is required. From my research I've learned we should be using ADF mobile. However, the resources I have found have been geared more at developers and I work as a Business Analyst. Can you point me to online resources (white papers, tutorials etc.) that deal with requirements and design considerations for porting over to a mobile version?
    Thanks in advance.

My apologies for lateness in checking this thread.
Here is an article I wrote that might help. Most of the paper is geared toward developer, but the first few sections talks about best practices for mobile browser app in general, not just for iPhone. http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/huang-iphone.html
You can also check out this link: http://www.orato cle.com/technology/tech/wireless/adf_mobile.html.
As for design consideration, a few rules of thumb:
    - First, obviously use ADF Mobile and Trinidad components. We put a lot of effort in adding rendering support for different mobile devices.
    - Next, figure out what devices you want to support. Browsers found in smartphones varies greatly, and in consumer/feature phones, the support is even less consistent. In general you should be able create one app/set of screens for all mobile devices, but you should plan on having ability to test it out on different devices.
    - Determine what information is really needed by mobile user. Not all information available in desktop application may be applicable for mobile users
    - Design your mobile screens based on a few key principals:
    - Display data as user needs it, instead of trying to display everything. For example, instead of displaying master-detail data on the same screen, break it out into 2 screens. Master data may be a list, and user would click on a particular piece of data to look at the details of that master record.
    - Provide navigation buttons on each screen, and ensure they are easy to get to on a page. For example, using the iPhone paradigm, there is a navigation bar at the top of the page where you can go between views.
    - Place command buttons at location where it's easy for user to get to. For example, if you need to allow user to modify a long list of fields, you may want to place save button on top and button of the screen, so user can easily get to it without having to scroll around too much.
    - Use style sheets to achieve mobile-platform optimized UI. For example, if you intend to support touch screen devices (iPHone, BB Storm, etc), then style your application so buttons, command links, etc, are big enough so it's easy to get to. For non-touch screen devices, then it's OK to compress the UI, but ensure user can easily flow between controls to get to the functionality they need. For example, using a trackball to scroll to a button.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang

  • Color space and preview mode for mobile devices?

I want to create artwork that will be exported directly for mobile devices such as Androids and also that will be imported into Flash to create interactive content.
    1. Is sRGB the best workspace for mobile devices?

  • What is the best Tablet to buy for the full range of Adobe CC Mobile Applications?

I am going to buy a tablet for using the Adobe CC Mobile Apps and would like some advice. I am thinking of using an IPad Air or Mini with Retina Display. I noticed that some Mobile Apps have different devices/OS against them on this link Mobile Apps
There is also the Surface Pro from Microsoft which featured on the Launch Event recently.
An experienced viewpoint would be very helpful.
    Thanks, Martin

    Martin,
All apps works with the IPad/devices.
You can go for Surface pro as well, as it is supported too.

  • [Flex 4.5.1] What is the best way of adopting a flex built website for mobile "as is"?

What is the best way of adopting a flex 4.5.1 built website for mobile "as is"?
I have a website built with flex 4.5.1 which I want to be working on mobile as it should - meaning that touch style of interactions should be working not mouse.
The question is: Do I HAVE TO recode all of my website from Application into Mobile Application in order to be a more lightweight version of the original one, which includes: remove some functionality, pages, animation, build a separate backend and cms to control it etc.?
    OR
Can I just define mobile skins, for my existing components to use when in mobile mode, in which I could have done some tweaking by removing some unnecessary parts and changing component interactionMode to Touch ?
Are both options which I see possible and if yes - which one would you recommend?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the answer. Yeah I bet you figured out what I want the answer to be, but is it ? That's why I am asking here. I can see my website on my HTC Desire HD and it's working pretty well. If I reskin the parts that need a bigger hit area or the scrollers to work with touch so I don't have to scroll the actual scrollbars with my finger, remove some complex animations - everything will work just fine... The problem is that I am not sure if that is the right way to do it or if it is possible at all.
I do get your point about not designed for mobile stuff, but while with html 5 you get the job done for web and mobile with little differences at the same time, in flash you need double time cause you'll have to build 2 projects. And since the framework is one for both web and mobile.. why not...
I want to see the pros and cons of the both approaches I suggested. In a complex modular architecture I could easily swap one web module with a mobile module for example or change skins or components if I need more lightweight ones, but do I have to copy all that logic in to a MobileApplication, can't I do it with Application and use the MobileComponents (which are simplier and less functional) if the project actually needs them...
I do hope you get why I am asking these questions, and I can't believe I haven't found a guide or something like that "why this and not that" when it comes to mixing web with mobile development and flex... If you have, please share the link, I would be happy to read. Or someone with the experience in what I am talking about shares some knowledge, that would be great!
    Thanks.
