Best Tool to integrate with Business One

Hi there!
I have a customer with SAP Business One implemented.
He'd like to have a BO application implemented, like a BI tool in order to have reports, graphics, and so on, extracted from Business One.
I would need to do some transformation and aggregation to this data...
Which application is the most indicated in this case?
Do you have any suggestion or comment?
Thanks in advance,
Cris.

  • How to Integrate SAP Business One  to R/3

    Hi guys,
    I have one client, this client is having the one head office and two branch offices. in the Head Office SAP R/3 is implemented
    Now the Client wants to implement SAP Business One in the branches. and want to integrate SAP Business One to R/3.
    i.e; if in the branch office creates Purchase Order then Automatically should create the Sales Order in SAP R/3.
    This is the one Scenario. their are lot of scenario's.
    Thanks in advance.

    Shiva,
    Apologies as I am not sure what the question is.  If your question is can you integrate SAP Business One with R/3 ... then yes using the SAP Business One Integration for SAP NetWeaver or B1i.  You can find more detailed information on B1i on SDN here ...

  • What is the best CRM to integrate with Outlook for Mac 2011?

    Hello,
    I am rather new to Mac and need to employ a CRM for a new small business. After reading reviews we deciding on using Salesforce.com, since it is web-based and seemed to be the best option for mac users. However, now that we have subscribed to it we have discovered that it does not integrate with Outlook for Mac 2011.  Even after inquring on third party apps and plug-ins, it does not appear there is a solution.  MailDrop only works with Entourage and MacMail, which we don't use, or want to use.  iHance and Riva seemed liked possible choices, however they do not support Salesforce Group Edition, which is what we have.  Changing our subscription from Group to Professional edition is a huge jump in price per month.  Plus we would most likely need to pay for a monthly app/plug-in fee.
    Bottom line, we want to keep using Outlook for Mac 2011 and use an effective CRM.  Any constructive advice is welcomed:
    Any third party apps, plugins, work arounds that I may not have mentioned?
    Any other suggestions for CRMs that integrate well with Outlook for Mac 2011?
    At it's simpliest level, is there a way to export contacts from Outlook for Mac 2011 into our Salesforce account?  If so, I want to make sure to avoid loading duplicates in the future.
    Thank you.

    Well, "feeling your pain" is almost cliche at this point.  I imagine every MAC deployed business out there is not completely happy with the SalesForce answer.  As a user, the perfect world is to keep using Outlook, have it be a powerful CRM - and not have to leave the MAC OS environment.....
    I can tell you the direction I am going in, but I don't have any results as yet.  I found a link from a MAC developer that has figured a stable way to do this.  With the use of "Parallels" and "MS Dynamics CRM", there may be light at the end of the tunnel.  Essentially, you can now have a powerful CRM - without having to leave MS Outlook - and still use your MAC.  As I said, I will have to try it myself to comment further, but at least it is one realistic answer to keeping your MAC in the business world.

    I need help preparing for the B1 certification. I have taken the test once already and failed. I found it very tricky with multiple correct answers for each question.
    I have gone thru the eLearning several times now. And this week I am taking the instructor led training. I have also purchased and studied the Ebook. I have a good grasp of the product, but I feel that this is not enough to help prepare for the test.
    I want to know if there are any other resources I could use to help prepare for the test. Are there any practice exams

  • Help with  Business One (B1) Core

    I am trying to install the core SAP ECC tables for the SMB solutions Business One (B1) on Window 2008 or Window 7 64-bit OS.
    I am confused on which B1 version to start with for installing and configuring the core SAP ECC tables functionally then install the add-ins for demou2019s
    What RDBMS do we use to install B1 MAXDB , SQL Servers etc?
    Which version and what order do we install first to get the Core SAP ECC tables and modules then what add-ins or upgrades?
    1.     SAP Business One 8.8 Integration for SAP Net Weaver (B1iSN 8.8)
    2.     SAP Business One 8.8
    3.     SAP Business One 2007 SP01
    4.     SAP Business One 2007
    5.     SAP Business One 2005 A SP01
    6.     SAP Business One 2005
    7.     SAP Business One 2004
    Thanks
    Rod

    Hi Rod,
    ECC and B1 is not the same. You can not get the Core SAP ECC tables and modules from B1.
    SAP Business One 8.8 is current version that you should install. Then SAP Business One 8.8 Integration for SAP Net Weaver (B1iSN 8.8) for integration with ECC.
    Only SQL server is supporting RDBMS for B1.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Best method to integrate with Exchange server without a BES

    We have 6 BB users configured with BIS, all with pc's running Outlook 2003 connected to an Exchange 2003 server. Presently, we forward all their incoming emails to their BB email address using Exchange's forward option under Delivery Options.
    Would there be a better way of configuring these BB in our Exchange environment, without having to go to BES, so that they would get better wireless email reconciliation possibilities (2-way deletions mainly) ? Should we maybe use OWA, Pop3, Imap instead of forwarding from Exchange ?
    Also, is wireless synchronization of calendar, contacts, only available when in a BES environment ?
    Thanks.

    guys, my company exchange server and dont have BES, still it works well with Windows mobile and Nokia based phones, and they dont allow OWA and otherwise i cant fiond anywhere on BIS setup pages the set of inoput fields does not contain "domain name" field, it only asks for email/username/pw/mail server.
    how to over come this, I tried few 3rd party software but they look like ......
    plz help
    Hi there...some questions...
    If your firm does not allow OWA, then how are the WM devices getting email? Did your firm put up a POP or IMAP server, interfaced to their Exchange? Or are they using some proprietary MS solution to integrate the WM devices? If the former (POP/IMAP), then you should be able to integrate your BB via BIS (BIS can talk to nearly all internet-facing emails servers...but the server must truly be internet facing). If the latter, then you are out of luck since they've implemented a solution that is proprietary to MS devices...
    Find out which it is and report back...then we can guide you...

    Nagesh- Padamgonde

    You would get an error in Incoming Excise only if you have not defined Excise RG 23A Credit & Excise RG 23A Payable A/c in ADM>Financials> G/L Account Determination.
    & also RG 23C account is to be determined in Purchase--> Tax tab in same path.
    Also if you have not made the Item in Item Master data as excisable then you cannot use excise code for that item in either Purchase or Sale.
    if you have made the item as excisable & not selected tax code as excisable then also it will prompt that you have not selected excisable code for excisable item.
    The Error No Matching records found in G/L means all accounts in G/L Account determination has not been defined.(the path is given above)
    These answers are relevant for SAP B1 2005B PL 05 as in Indian Localization

  • -5002:Address is empty error with Business One 2007

    ANyone ever see this error message when trying to update a BP address of a customer? I found some threads in here that talked about this error back in 2004 as a bug. Why would this happen in 2007 B1?
    this._bp.Addresses.Add();
    this._bp.Addresses.SetCurrentLine(this._bp.Addresses.Count - 1);
                this._bp.Addresses.AddressName = address.Name;
                this._bp.Addresses.Street = address.Street1;
                this._bp.Addresses.Block = address.Street2;
                this._bp.Addresses.City = address.City;
                this._bp.Addresses.State = address.StateAbbr;
                this._bp.Addresses.ZipCode = address.PostalCode;
                this._bp.Addresses.County = address.County;
                this._bp.Addresses.Country = address.CountryAbbr
    this._bp.Update()

    I didn't try that yet.
    It looks like a regression - and it may be connected to the fact that B1 will support both multiple ShipTo and BillTo addresses (new at least in an EhP for 2005 SP01; not sure whether it is already in the build of 2007 you are using); maybe there's a change regarding the AddressType which is not documented properly yet...
    I suspect you don't have a customer in Ramp-Up, right?
    I'll try to check what I can do about it and will let you know then - but it may take a while...

    Frank

  • SAP Business One  Reporting tools

    Which is the best reporting tool suitable for SAP Business One?

    It depends on what you are looking for, there is no one tools that satisfy all.
    Personally, I prefer Crystal report and queries.  PLD is not preferred due to its limitation in formatting and adding additional fields.
    XL reports works extremely well if you are like excel and you are happy with writing reports based on existing fields avaiable as yo have no control on that.

  • Installation of SAP Business One client and required administration rights

    Dear community,
    I would like to kindly ask you for your feedback on the installation of SAP Business One client and its patches on end-user computers.
    The pain points I have heard so far are the following:
    - The installation of SAP Business One client and its patches has to be started by a user with administrator rights.  As far as I know (and please correct me if I am wrong), this is also required in case of installation of any other software.
    - End users usually do not have administrator rights and therefore the SAP Business One clients have to be manually upgraded by administrator.  This is time consuming (and therefore costly) activity.
    We are considering to design a new solution which would overcome the above limitations.
    I would like to confirm with you if my understanding is correct:
    Question 1:
    Is it a common situation that the end-users of SAP Business One client do not have administrator rights and therefore cannot install the patches of SAP Business One client by themselves?
    If yes, how do you resolve this currently?
    Question 2:
    Do you use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or Active Directory (or any other 3rd party solution) to automatically distribute software packages and updates to client PCs at your customers?
    Question 3:
    If the SAP Business One client installation (and its patches) is delivered as MSI package with silent installation capability, would you be able to automate the deployment of B1 client updates to client PC using the abovementioned technologies? Or can you still see some obstacles?
    Thank you
    Best regards
    Jan Ruzarovsky
    SAP Business One Product Management

    Dear all,
    Thank you very much for your comments, very helpful!
    @Marco - SAP Business One 8.8 client currently does not support the silent installation / upgrade. However we are currently considering this requirement and we would like to deliver it as soon as possible.
    We are currently considering several possible designs. One of them is as follows:
    1. A new SAP Business One Updater Service will be installed on each client workstation.
    It will be a windows service installed and running under a local system account.
    2. The updater service will check regularly if there are any new patches of SAP Business One client or add-ons uploaded to a configured shared directory.
    3. If a new patch is found in the shared directory, the updater service will SILENTLY install the new patch (add-ons, SAP Business One) on the client workstation.
    The service would be able to install patches even if nobody is logged in.
    Questions:
    If we consider the above design, there are a few open topics:
    1. During the upgrade of the SAP Business One server, the client patches (and SAP add-on patches, partner add-ons) would be placed to a SHARED directory instead of into SBO-Common (as it is implemented currently).
    - Does this have any impact on your tools, processes or add-ons?
    2. SAP Business One upgrade wizard will put the latest patch of SAP Business One client into a configured shared directory. The shared directory will have to be read-only for everybody in the network to avoid that the valid installation files are replaced by malware or virus infected files
    - Can you configure such a shared directory?
    From customer perspective, if a new patch is put into the shared directory, the updater service can behave as follows:
    1. Manually initiated upgrade of the client
    Example: Customer starts the old (not upgraded) SAP Business One client. The client will inform him/her that a new patch has been found and it has to be installed in order to continue working with the client. After customer clicks "Yes", the upgrader service starts the silent installation of the client and informs customer about the progress. Once the upgrade is finished, the upgraded SAP Business One client will be started automatically.
    2. Automatic update:
       - Update the client automatically (e.g. overnight) if customer is not working with SAP Business One
       - If SAP Business One client is running, ask customer if he/she wishes to upgrade the client now or to delay the upgrade by X minutes.
    Question: Which of the above two scenarios would you and your customers prefer?
    If the upgrade is fully silent, automated and handled by the upgrader service, Is it acceptable for customers to trigger the installation manually and wait till the client is upgraded? Or would they prefer to have the client updated for them e.g. overnight so they can immediately start to work?
    Best regards
