Best Tutorial? Literature?...

Does anyone have any suggestions about the best LiveType tutorial and/or literature regarding this application.
I'm having a hard time moving through the help guide provided with the software by Apple.
Thanks!
Jim

I am new to Macbook Pro, what is the best tutorial video to watch?

There are a lot of videos to watch if you are new to Mac. Apple has got a lot of tutorials and videos in their website > http://www.apple.com/support/macbasics They will help you use OS X.
Also, you can ask here. We will be glad to answer all your doubts about OS X and your MacBook Pro. Finally, welcome to the Mac

  • Best tutorial on converting from a PC

I am a newbie to using a MAC after 15 years on a PC. Looking for the best tutorial out there for a crash course. Thanks!

Hello, One thing you may want to consider is how to view all your years of documents from your PC. Apple offers iWork and uses apps Pages (word processing) and Numbers (spreadsheet), and Keynote (presentations).
You can open your Office docs with iWork but for me, I found iWork difficult to use.
There is also Open Office (openoffice.org). I do not have much experience with this but have used it a few times to open Word docs. I haven't used it to create any docs though...
Finally there is Office for Mac. I've just recently purchased this and there are some differences from MS Office...I'm still finding them so can't give a lot of detail here..
I switched back to Mac in 06 and have been very happy. You may have already done this but go into an Apple store and play around with one. This will help you understand where to move your PC files. Or as mentioned, the Apple store will do this for you.
Then there is this forum. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here.
    Good Luck!

  • Anyone give me the best tutorial site for servlets nd jsp

hi ,i want to know the servlets in deeply... so plz give best tutorial sites...
    thanks in advance...

    Hi,
If you want to learn Servlets "deeply" - you need to understand how the Servlet Container works, along with the Servlet API.
You can check out the Servlet Container Jetty ( http://jetty.mortbay.org/ ). You can download the Source Code & see how the Server ticks !
And, of course,....practice...practice...lots of practice.......:) !

There isn't an end to end tutorial with the stack you are looking at, but:L
You can start with this tutorial that uses EclipseLink for JPA to build the model layer:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/ps1/ejb/ejb.html
Here is a little example of how you can use Trinidad components (open source) in JDeveloper 11g for visual JSF development:
    http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2009/02/using_trinidad_in_jdeveloper_1.html
using MySQL would just mean adding the MySQL JDBC driver to JDeveloper, and to the integrated WebLogic - like this:

  • What is the best tutorial for moving a LR 2.5 catalog?

I have used up all of the space on my hard drive so I need to move my LR2 catalog to my Western Digital external hard drive.  I know this can be a very sensitive process to move a catalog so I was wondering what you thought would be the best list of instructions to use?  I have the Scott Kelby for LR too.
If you could share your favorite line, I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks!

Do you want to move the catalog or the pictures? It's not the same.
There's no point to move the catalog - it doesn't take that much space. I doubt you have a hard drive smaller some 200 GB or so.
If you want to move the pictures, there's not need for tutorial - that's not that hard. Move the pictures folder in Explorer/Finder. When you open Lightroom, all your files and folders will be reported as missing. Go to Library, Folders panel, right-click the top-level folder and choose Find Missing Folder. If you have more than one top-level folder, do this for each of them.

  • Best tutorial for after effect in net

    hi
i read a thread in FAQ about how to learn after effect but i want your experience.in the internet there are many tutorials for after effect but can someone tell me where can i download or buy the best and complete after effect tutorial from begining to really professional?

Once you have a handle on the basics it is important to focus on one area at a time. Compositing, motion graphics, Visual Effects all require completely different skill sets. When you figure out what you want to concentrate on then we can give you a better idea of how to start. If you want a complete course in AE I'd suggest Total Training or Lynda.com Both offer excellent tutorials that take off right after Adobe TV leaves off.

  • Best tutorial DVD ?

    Hi!
Which tutorial DVD out there is the best
for a hopeless newbie like me ?!?
    T

I'd suggest Tom Wolsky's DVD and book -
Final Cut Express HD Made Easy tutorial DVD
Final Cut Express HD 3.5 Editing Workshop book, which includes a DVD with training, sample projects & clips and a nice comparison between iMovie and FCE (it is NOT the same DVD as his tutorial DVD listed above).
I have Tom's training DVD and copies of previous editions of his book and they are very well done. Best on the market.

  • Where is the best tutorial for Compressor 4

Please can anyone tell me where a novice would look to learn how to use Compressor 4 to burn a DVD with several short films and a menu?

Hard to say what is the best without trying all of them – and I haven't. Most offer a free preview or two.. do a search and survey their previews to compare.
Lynda.com has a month-to-month subscription plan for $25. They offer a huge selection of courses across a wide variety of subjects, including several versions of Compressor and DVD authoring programs.
Ripple Training specializes in multi-media and has a Compressor tutorial for $30.
Larry Jordan also focuses on editorial and offers monthly subscriptions for $20. He has a Compressor tutorial plus short movies on specific techniques for $5.(He is also featured on a number of older tutorials at Lynda.com.
There are lots of others and I'm sure that many of them are excellent.
But here's the problem. Apple no long makes or supports the DVD authoring part of the workflow. So you either have to get a boxed edition of iLife, or you need to use a third party app like Roxio Toast.
The disk burning capabilities of Compressor are great for a simple DVD. But they're really not for the kind of project you describe. (There are work-around's that can get multiple movies on a disk but it's not very satisfactory,
Finally, take a look at the Compressor user manual – at least the first two chapters to familiarize yourself with the basics. It's well-written and is a great resource.
    Good luck.

  • What is the best tutorial you've found explaining frame animation in CS6's timeline?

While I'd prefer it in book form, I'd be willing to fork over $ for a thorough video demo of frame animation in CS6's timeline. What's the best you've found?

    Thanks!
We see this exact same post about once a month around here. So there exists a reliably and thoroughly documented precedent for Dave's responses. You can searcdh the forum for "kinetic typography" and you will find those conversations. Some of them may have good links for you to follw but you caould also try to contact the authors to see how they ended up dealing with their sudden and hurried and mission critical and crucial needs to become experts in an artform using materials and crafts systems they've never seen before. It's tough.
You can help similar seekers tremendously by returning after your project is successfully behind you and letting us know what resources served you well. Post those links to the online tutorials and other research your performed.
There is a great book/DVD on the market from Angie Taylor and our own Todd Kopriva. It's targeted precisely at people like you who need to or want to get up to speed quickly. Here are some other useful links from Ms Taylor. Don't let that ring in her nose scare ya.

  • Best Tutorial and Wireless Clicker/Mouse?

I need to put together a powerpoint type presentation for a talk I'm giving and knowing nothing about powerpoint but plenty about Macs, I figured keynote was probably the way for me to go. That said, anyone know of a good tutorial out there for it? And secondly my dad (who uses powerpoint and a pc) has a wireless clicker/mouse that allows him to walk the room and still click to the next slide and move the mouse around. Anyone know of a good one for the mac that will work with keynote?
    Thanks

Regarding a "+wireless clicker+", you could use the Apple Remote described here:
