Best type of NOx Analyze for Lab View.

My company is looking to buy a NOx Analyzer. What type of Analyzer would be best to use with Lab View.
It need to read CO, CO2, NO, NO2, and NOx.
It would also help to get an idea on the set up also.

Measure is an add-on for Excel and not a board for generic questions. You should repost to someplace more appropriate (i.e. LabVIEW or Instrument Control).

Looking for lab view example

My application consists of collecting data from a bank of sensors as pressures and tempratures vary. I would like to run a lab view VI that tests the sensors, varies the environment and keeps track of all results, sorting them into good and bad. Each sensor needs to be tested in different pressures, then the temprature increases and the pressure test begins again. If there is a lab view example that might be able to get me started, I really need to find it. Thanks for any and all help.

There are a number of examples that ship with LabVIEW and their usefulness will depend on information not specified in your questions - such as what version of LabVIEW you have, what type of DAQ card(s) you have, and if you are using any SCXI hardware. If you open LabVIEW and go to Help >> Find Examples, you can search through a number of different examples.
For the application it sounds like a good place to start would be with an Acquire to Spreadsheet type of file that reads, graphs, and logs data. From there, depending on what you mean my using the card to vary the environment, you can find other examples of AO and DIO to perform these type of functions. These examples will give you a good starting place as to how a LabVIEW program works and the general flow
that you will need to follow.
Also, depending on your other needs, you might considering looking into examples with triggering to enable you to control when your program starts.

Application builder for Lab View 8.6.1 , 2009 SP1 and 2010 SP1

All 3 Versions seem to have huge flaws. With 8.6.1 When trying to build and application I get a duplicate name error and the application won't work. With 2009 SP1 I get Error 1003 broken VI when I have no broken VI's. Again Application won't work! With 2010 SP1 After the application is built for some reason lab view can no longer find the Excel sub VI's no matter how I place them in the build. And again application doesn't work. With all 3 versions the Vi's and over all programs work perfectly in the development environment. The application builder seems extremely flawed.
I would currently like assistance with 2009 SP1 problem the Error 1003 broken VI. I have reinstalled and rebooted my machine several times , tried including as much as possible in the build and still get the error about a broken VI. That works perfectly in the development environment. Please HELP?

Best, export slideshow in iMovie, for online viewing

I tried exporting my 5min slideshow in iMovie using this setting:
go to>share
export using quicktime
export as: mpeg4 settings>
file format: mp4
video format: h.264
data rate: 1500 kbits/sec optimized: cd/dvd
image size: 1280x720
key frame: 12
frame rate: 12
video options>
restrict profile to: main
encoding mode: best

So far, this is good file size for online uploading, and good quality. Good enough. But there are still color issues, like some color blotching, and color transitioning, and the quality of the photos in the imovie when exported is not as good as when I view the slideshow in imovie. It's very important that the quality of the photos remain top quality as this for fine art photography promotion.
If you have any ideas how to export slideshows from imovie, in top quality, please reply. This is for online viewing, to be uploaded in free-hosted sites like youtube, facebook, multiply, etc. I am aware that youtube and facebook have HD options for video viewing. I need someone's help. Thanks.

Yes, I did. Not so good. The settings I mentioned above is actually the best I've tried so far.

What is the best type of xml storage for max performance in 9i r2

We have many schema based xml's of 1MB in xdb (9.2.0.5)
and our database is getting slower by every new xml
delete_resource (300 sec) and create_resource (300 sec ) take a long time
and if I ftp a schema based xml out the xdb takes a long time ( 200 sec )
Our system works like this , the xml comes in (ftp) ,the xdb validates the xml and then the xml is archived and the
last step, the xml data is extracted and put in normal tables
no xml updates or xml constraints
I have now defined in the schema, one main table and I use oracle types for complextypes and xdb:defaulttable =""
in 10g I don't have problems, but our production system
are 9.2.0.5 and it takes a lot work and downtime to change that
This goes well in 9i by files smaller then 500k

this gives me very good performance
the total run is now 6 times faster
and to ftp xml out of the xdb takes now 2 seconds

What's the best way to save clips for general viewing on the web?

I am new to iMovie, but not to Macs or file formats.
I have taken some video of kittens at a local cat shelter, hoping to post the clips at the shelter's website in efforts to get the kittens adopted.
I managed to work through iMovie myself, saving the clips so that the person responsible for the website can post them. I first saved them as .mov files - the web person can view them, but others cannot. (They are all using IBM-compatibles) She is trying to get them to launch from an html page. So I tried saving them as .wmv files, but the little fade-outs I placed at the ends of the clips were truncated... the fade-ins were there, but not the fade-outs.
The video started out very good quality, and I would like to retain as much of that quality as possible, while of course keeping them small and manageable. But first of all, I need the web person to be able to post them, and then need everyone to be able to view them.
Am I asking too much, given there are so many ibms out there?

you ask for a solution of a very common problem: the universal video format...
due to sheer market power, .avi and .wmv are the most used standards.
avi is just a container, little supported on Mac; you can choose it as an export option in iM, but it offers just a few compressors (dv/bmp = nice looking, but large, cinepak=small but ugly...)
for export to .wmv, you need, as mish mentioned, to buy a plug-in from flip4mac, we do read enthusiastic responses on that product... but, Mac-users need additional software to read these files (the free plug-in from flip4mac or the free wmv player for Mac from Microsoft)
RealPlayer needs costly encoders, and again special players...
a nice option is .flv, flash-video... needs investment into FlashMX, $$$$ or shareware as VisualHub...
finally, which works for me and my few PC friends, is usage of mp4... without .mov container; choose "mpeg4" in the expert options... your friend has to open that file once in Windows MediaPlayer manually once and save it again, to get rid of some meta-data "Quicktime needed" (which isn't true)... some PCs open these mp4 by double-click, some PCs demand for QT4Windows.. but, as said, manually (open dialog from within WMP) these mp4s are compatible..
better pic results are earned with that little free app iSquint, I LOVE to recommend, it has an excellent algorithm...

Best way to load movies for online viewing?

I'm creating an interactive module in which I want to display
several videos. There are 11 different sections to this module, and
most of them have a video that I'd like to play in that section. So
I was just wondering what might be the best way to do this? I
figure importing them into the flash file so they are all in the
swf will make the file much too big. Does anybody know any good
tutorials or have any good advice for this situation?

Hi Atul,
I think the first option is ther better because,
1. if you put the filter in dtp, it will get the data from the source based on this criteria.
2. if you filter in start routine, then all records are extracted and then it will perform filter option. So avoid second option.
and about the third option - can you please explain me clearly what exactly you want to do.

CIP Safety Driver for Lab View available

Hello, does anybody know if there is a CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) Safety driver is available for LabView? CIsP Safetey is based on the Ethernet IP Protocol. Does anybody know a third party manufacturer of a CIP Safety driver for LabView? Has anybody experience in using CIP Safety Protocol in LabView? Please help. Thanks

There's no drivers for that in the NI Instrument Driver network, and the company's web site doesn't seem to have anything, though this is not that big of a surprise. Given that it has C++ commands it's quite likely it's calling functions in a DLL. If that's the case, you can create LabVIEW wrapper functions for the DLL functions. Can you tell if it's using a DLL? This information would likely be in a programming sub-manual, or a section in the user manual dealing with programming. Given the type of device it's also possible that it might just be talking to it directly via TCP/IP. Can you provide a code snippet that is in the manual, or a link to the manual?

So basically there is a key then a list of other keys with more items.
At first I thought a Map<String, Map<String, Map<String,...etc but the number is unknown so I'm not sure how to structure it.

Best type of SATA drives for video editing?

I'm getting a MacPro system to do editing of Hi-def home movies in Final Cut Express and iMovie. I will be adding additional internal drives, but I'm not buying from Apple because they seem overpriced. So the question is: is there a preferred brand out there for video editing? Maxtor, Western Digital, Seagate, etc.?
They have good prices on MacSales.com, but some talk about being suitable for nearline applications, and I don't know what that means. I have also heard that setting up a RAID may be the way to go, but I've never done it and I'm a little intimidated by it (I don't want to get hundreds of gigs of material and then realize I should have done something differently, and have to reformat and start over).

Look for SATA-II (3 Gbps) drives that are 7200rpm and have at least 8MB cache (preferably 16MB). Seagate, Western Digital, Hitachi and other drive manufacturers all make drives that meet these specs. For what it's worth, I have long preferred Seagate drives.
In addition to your working drives, remember to add 1 or more drives for backup capability, preferably external drives that can be kept offline except for times you are backing up or restoring.

Weird problem for lab view

My program runs normally this moring.
But when I open it this afternoon, it is so weird. I try to set up acquire data time. But I can not put number like 0.5. I just can put integer. Also. When I try to input 0.5, it autamatically changed to 05 I can not type dot in it

Also should we assign different number ranges to same document type in different ledgers and different views?

Document type for Entry view is the scenario where you don't use the New GL functionality
Document type for Entry view in one ledger is where you use only one ledger i.e., a leading ledger (and not non leading ledger)
Document type for GL view is where you have completely implemented the new Gl functionality (i.e., ledger groups, leading ledger, non leading ledgers etc..)
You do not have to maintain document types for all the views.
If you are not using the new GL functionality you only need document types for entry view.
You only need to maintain the number ranges according to how you have defined document types for a particular view.
All the regular document types are already defined for entry view.
The document types remain the same for new GL view as well.
