    Hi
I want to know if I bought 980M Upgrade Kit for MSI GT72
will I be eligible for The Witcher 3 offer?

It's not really an offer from MSI, it's from NVIDIA so you would need to check with the store you purchase it from.

  • What is the best laptop cooling fan for a macbook pro?

I have my macbook on basically all day every day and I just want a nice cooling fan for underneath it so it doesn't overheat on me

I've never had any overheating issues, even when it is hard at work with several VMWare Fusion instances running concurrently. Just placed it on top of a Roadtech Coolpad (a passive laptop stand) and it's kept its cool thus far.

What is the best and most stable kit in each category?
    1. 4x8Gb
    2. 4x4Gb
    3. 2x8Gb

Not really good idea. It's temporary usage, and instead of RAMDisk I suggest you buy SSD of SATA III or M.2 depending on what motherboard you have. Go for 16Gb, and buy 120Gb SSD, it will be more efficient. Also you won't get much difference between starting game like Battlefield 4 on SSD and RAMDisk.
Or buy 2x60Gb SSD, 1 for OS and 1 for apps so OS drivers doesn't mix together with games etc.

  • What is the best Bluetooth car kit for Siri?

I have an iPhone 4S and I do a lot of calling for work from my car.  I need a really good Bluetooth car kit that plays well with Siri.
I bought the Motorola Roadster and it is very inconsistent.  Sometimes people can hear me very well and other times I am cutting out so badly no one can understand me.  When I am making business calls this is unacceptable.  I can always hear the person I am talking to very clearly on the Roadster.
Siri does not understand me through the roadster and it can take forever to finish a request.  Usually I just get the phone out and do it myself, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a hands free car kit.
Playing music would be a nice feature but the most important feature is call quality.
Thanks.  Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated.

Overclocking my 5900 once get me to get a 6300 3dmark03 score and now it doesnt go over 5800 or even less!!
I was hoping if some1 could either give me a link or if some1 had the BIOS of the GPU i own, it was be grateful!!
Even has any1 else encountered this low scores after their Flash!
Oh yeah which utility do i need to re-flash - WFFLASH or NvFlash!
Hope to find some help here ! !
    THanksss !!

    Utk,
The BIOS is static and flashing back probably won't make things better. I believe your scores or performance is suffering from OS decay. It might be a good idea to review all the software you have installed since you flashed your BIOS and see what's running in the backround. Perhaps even a fresh install of the drivers, maybe even a fresh install of the OS.
Read this link, it saves me the time of going into detail http://www.computerclub.org/tips_tricks/tip_performance2.htm

    Looking for performance degradation
Before I move on, let me point out that there's another area where benchmarking software really shines for computer users and that is in keeping an eye out for performance degradation due to OS (Operating System) Decay.
This type of problem is little understood but very common. Let's take a closer look. As you've been using your existing operating system over time, you've probably installed, upgraded, and uninstalled numerous applications. In addition, you've probably added and removed lots of hardware and device drivers. Furthermore, you may have upgraded your operating system with a multitude of patches, bug fixes, and updates.
Considering all the wear and tear these types of operations put on your operating system, chances are good that you've experienced OS decay first hand. Some of the symptoms of OS decay are frequent system lockups or crashes, strange error messages, unusually slow performance, and Windows directory that's bloated with files.
Of course you must realize that OS decay is actually a natural occurrence that results from the heavy use of your system. You could look at the OS decay problem much as you would look at an aging automobile—no matter how well you take care of it, eventually you're going to have to buy a new one.
Fortunately, you don't have to buy a new computer to solve the OS decay problem; you just have to rebuild the operating system from scratch.
As such, the question is not if you must rebuild, but when you must rebuild. If you regularly check your computer and keep tabs on your system's progress over time, you'll have a much better picture of when the OS decay has gotten so bad that it's degrading the overall performance of your system.

  • Dev Kit for RAZR V3?

Hello - Just bought a Motorola RAZR V3. What a great phone. I am an amateur programmer, good with scripting but my only OOP exerience is with C# and have also played with Net Beans a little. I am looking for the best JAVA dev kit for writing apps for my RAZR but when I visit the Sun site I find there are a few options when picking a the JAVA ME software. I also found motorola had a kit as well.
The RAZR V3x runs a JavaME environment with a MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1 kVM.
Which would be the best kit for my RAZR and a semi-noob programmer?

  • Quiet cooling solutions on MSI's new RADEON X and GeForce 6 series VGA cards? Which is quietest?

    Hi.
I am, like many people are at the moment I'd imagine, trying to find the ideal graphics solution for running Doom 3. Say what you will about it, but I've played it, and I for one want to get my hands on it in a bad way.
The problem is that my PC doubles as a crude workstation for digital recording, and my condensor mics tend to pick up even very faint sounds. My current system configuration is: P4 C 3.2GHz, ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe mobo, 1GB DDR400 in dual channel, WD 3.6GB Raptor SATA HDD for OS and apps, and two 120GB Maxtor drives in RAID 1 for audio data storage, and the weak link as I call it, my gaming-inept Matrox Millenium 64MB. (Great for work...terrible for games, as expected). All this is running in the Antec Sonata case, and boy is it ever silent. I have to turn off my supposedly silent air filtration system across the room just to hear the PSU fan lol. It's been very good to me.
Doom 3 is the only game I intend to run on this system, simply because, call me crazy, but I am an old school Doom level editing addict, and I actualy like the tight narrow repetitive cooridor style gameplay it lets me enjoy. Furthermore, using editors feels alot like tinkering with my audio software, a feeling I very much savor.
I was going to go for a HIS Excalibur X800 IceQ II because they are supposedly extremely quiet, but darned if I can find one for sale anywhere on the planet. Lol.
So, I have decided to turn to MSI, who have never let me down with respect to near-silence in the past with their VGA cooling solutions.
    So my questions are:
    1) The NX6800 128MB (non-ultra, non-GT variety) is very quiet from what I hear, when the fan is set to the (default) lowest setting. Does the NX6800GT or Ultra feature the same cooling solution, and is it just as quiet, nearly as quiet, or noticeably louder than the plain variety?
    and
    2) I have heard in general that the new RADEON cards are much quieter than the GeForce 6 series cards. Does this hold true for MSI's X800 cards as well, and is the RX800 XT as quiet or quieter than the NX6800 or NX6800GT, etc. ?
Note that I care more about silence than performance. I would be perfectly happy running Doom 3 at 1024x768 at medium or even low settings, as long as I can keep the framerate smooth. I'm not very picky.
I would be truly grateful for anyone's assistance in this matter. Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks for the reply and the info.
Yes, they do run much quieter in 2D. But are there any decible readings anywhere on the net for the stock X800 PRO cooler (in 2d or otherwise)? I ask this because, let's face it, most reviewers tend to focus on the performance rather than the decible levels (as long as the noise level is tollerable to them, they usualy give scores without going into much detail about how loud or silent something is), and being quieter than the competing products doesn't neccesarily mean it's truly quiet.
Basicaly, by quiet, I mean so quiet that it would be hard to hear it unless I get closer than two feet to the tower, and even then, rather faint or even inaudible unless I actualy put my ear up to the tower. My mics are that sensitive. Is the X800 Pro that quiet with the stock reference cooler? I'm thinking it probably isn't, but I could be wrong. The Toxic Pro of course is more than quiet enough, but I have some concerns there.
I would prefer the X800 XT or, at the very least, the plain 6800 128MB, as they both (even the 128MB normal 6800) score higher consistently in Doom 3 benchmarks than the normal X800 Pro (not overclocked). While I'd prefer a 256MB card over a 128MB one, and Sapphire using the VGA Silencer on their Toxic Pro is a nice touch, that card overclocks the memory freq, which is a no-no with Doom 3 from what I've heard. Doom 3 doesn't like overclocked cards, as John carmack said, and that seems to be true given that I've heard lots of people complaining of artifacts with even moderately overclocked cards, be it the memory or core frequency. I could, of course, just not use the "A.P.E." functionality, and run it at stock X800 Pro speed, and with the silence on the Toxic Pro it would be great...but then why not just get the higher performing 128MB 6800 for roughly the same price or less?
    See my dilema? Lol.
Idealy, I'm hoping MSI's X800 XT or their GT or Ultra versions of the 6800 will have quiet cooling solutions. If they do, then it would save me alot of work making up my mind. No overclocking, guaranteed stability, total (or near total) silence, and guaranteed to handle Doom 3 (atleast fairly well... like I said, I'm not too picky), and I wouldn't feel short changed on performance either. As it stands now though, unless I can confirm whether or not they do, I'm going to have to settle for their standard (but extremely quiet) 6800 128MB.
Any further thoughts (anyone?) given the above considerations? Thanks again. I really appreciate it. Good idea on the Toxic Pro, just perhaps not ideal for my situation.

  • What is thes best 5.1 speaker kit for macbook pro 2011

what is the best 5.1 speaker kit for my macbook pro
    thanks for help.

A 5.1 is considered a surround sound system, it's typically used in home theater systems, not computers.
A computer doesn't have the necessary electronics to produce the rich quality of sound that a 5.1 system can deliver, the PC 5.1's are just gamers gimmick cards, they too really don't have the necessary electronics or wattage for rich, full bodied sound.
Now I can tell you what works really well as a 5.1 system for iTunes, movies and such from your MacBook Pro, or anything really.
A Harmon Kardon 5.1 Home Theater.
It has 110 Watt speakers, 5 of them, and a 200 watt subwoofer that will make your heart thump in your chest.
You need only two things with this system, a optical stereo mini Toslink adapter and a optical Toslink cable.
You plug one inside your MacBook Pro (enable the optical out) and the other to the receiver and mess with the remote to enable theater mode from the computer for iTunes (takes stereo and makes it quad sound with separate bass)
For playing DVD's with 5.1, you enable the right 5.1 encoding, Dolby, ProLogic etc on both and the Mac passes the 5.1 through the system to the receiver.
For playing 3D games, you just pass the 5.1 through, the receiver handles the surround sound.
The important thing is setup, the listening point needs to be right in the center of the four channel speakers, the center is over your monitor or TV and the subwoofer is stuck in a free corner someplace, it's placement is unimportant, as long as it's in the room and not blocked.
Brother, you have system like this hooked up to your iTunes and tears will be falling from your eyes the music sounds so good. Makes you full hear the full quality of the iTunes bought music.
Will set you back a couple of thousand, but it's worth it. All the cables etc are color coded, easy to setup.

    Hope that helps

This topic has been moved to AMD64 nVidia Based board.
Best BIOS setting for MSI K8N Plat + AMD 3000+ Venice + Geil Value RAM

If you want SSE3 support and you do not overclock, Bios 1.4 is the only one officially available (1.41beta is not official).
Try to upgrade to 1.4 and see it for yourself, do the upgrade with floppy in DOS so that you can save your old Bios.
I would rather wait till mid June when a less troublesome new bios is suppose to be availabe for NEO4 MBs.

  • Best Cooling Pad for rMBP 15

What's the best cooling pad for my 15 rmbp?  I know apple laptops require a certain kind.

Apple's documentation suggests you keep your portable on a flat hard surface, to allow air to circulate and cool. Putting it on a blanket, your legs, a pillow or other soft surface would defeat that.
That being said, when my son had a problem with overheating his MacBook - he damaged the fans by spilling bourbon on it - he used a bag of frozen peas. He didn't tell me what brand.
    Best of luck.
