Best Way for a Flash Slide Show on Website

Hello,
I have created a slide show in After Effects that I would
like to put on a website.It was converted to an .swf that was
placed on the page using Dreamweaver. The .swf is about 6000kb.
What I would like to know is if there is a way to display this
slide show using a much smaller file size? Is it possible to use an
.flv and can an .flv be looped? If there is a book that explains
how to do this I would be happy to purchase it.

It's great to look ahead to the possibilities, Shutech. I love to be prepared! You actually have a fantastic idea to change their line to a global capable phone for the time they're in Spain. Not that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

Best way to create a slide show in Motion with 150 pics?

Is there an easier way of importing 150 pics into Motion instead importing each pic one by one? I tried one guys idea about creating a folder put all my pics in it, go to Quicktime Pro and create an Image Sequence, made sure the pics were numbered sequentially, selected 4 frames per second then saved the file. I then imported that file into motion and I could only see the first picture in the sequence! It wouldn't let me see none of the other pics. I am not quite sure I know what is the best way to accomplish this being as though I have so many pics to work with.
Any suggestions???

Also what are some good settings beside motion blur that will get rid of any kind of noise or artifacts when i apply behaviors to the pictures and have them move around in 3D space?

Best way to produce a slide show with good quality

OK, I know this is an ongoing issue, but I am trying to figure out the best way to proceed.
Made a movie of stills. They are jagged unless there is a title or a transition, then they are very smooth.
So anything rendered in iMovie looks good. How do I get from here to iDVD without the jagged stills?
I was even considering putting fake titles over the whole thing (with no text) just to render it nicely.
Why is this still a problem?

Flash Slide Show not Showing after Hosting Change

Hey guys!
I don't know if this question is for you or for the good folks at the Dreamweaver forum, but I thought I would try here first. I took over a website for a family member to help them update it from time to time (They were paying a company to do it). When I changed hosting from the companies hosting to my own personal GoDaddy hosting everything went right, except for 2 flash slide shows (Simple rotating images). They just apear as clear boxes now. You can see what I am talking about here: http://grangerfun.com/golf and here http://grangerfun.com/pizza . You will notice the empty large empty box on the right in both pages. When you right click on it the browser recognizes that it is flash. On the Piza site I tried taking out the original code and entering the flash object via Dreamweaver CS5, but that yeilded the same results (I only mention this because the code on that site will thus look a bit different). What am I missing here? If you need more info, please let me know! I apreaciate all of the help you guys have given me over the years! I hope to one day pay the favor back!

You need to look at the Flash source file (.fla) to see what goes on inside. If the files worked in the previous server, then whoever made the files should be able to determine where any supporting files need to be placed. If that turns out to be the company that's been dumped you might or might not get help in finding that out. The least you can try to do is to copy everything from the existing site into the same file/directory structure on the new server, which I would assume is what you have tried to do, so if it is possible to still check, see what else might be on the previous server that got missed.

Is there a way to project a slide show using iPad with Chromecast? Other better solution?

When I travel for business I like to try to just bring my iPad and no laptop. I need to be able to project some slides (could be .ppt or .pdf). I have Chromecast installed and working on the TV. I also have the latest "free" version of Powerpoint on my iPad. I do not pay for the MS360 subscription at this time - I only use it to view slides as needed and edit on laptop. Series 3 iPad with latest software.
1) Is there a way to project a slide show to a projector or TV using Chromecast in conjunction with either Dropbox or Powerpoint, on the iPad?
or in absence of a "yes"
2) What is the best toy to buy so that I can mirror my iPad screen to a projector / TV? Note I don't need a $100 Apple TV brick, please.

Editing Music for an IDVD slide show

Is there a way to edit a song that you are using when you are creating an IDVD? For example, I have a song I like for a particular slide show I've created. However, I want to edit out the first part of the song because it's just too slow. Is there a way to do this. I have I-Life - not sure if there is a program there I can use or if you can do it with IDVD

Each slide is treated as one chapter within iDvd's slideshow. Suggest you keep each slideshow at 99 slides or less for best results in predictable Dvd playback. If you exceed 99 slides per slideshow you may get mixed results depending on which set top dvd player one uses. Some set top players will freeze at slide #100, 200, etc. Some will pause briefly (like the pause between Dual Layers), and others won't read it at all. The 99 slideshow limit does not apply if one uses a mac for playback in most cases.
If you must exceed 99 slides then consider using iMovie or a 3rd party app to create the slideshow. Other than iM, here are 2 more apps that come highly recommended in this Forum:

If you happen to own a QT Pro key, then it too has the ability to edit both audio and video (as do other apple video editing apps like iMovie and FCP/FCE).

Do you want it on each slide? Are you on CP7 or 6? Create a shape button: you can do it either on the master slide, or on the first slide timed for the rest of the project. What's the best way for home sharing to iDevices without iTunes?

What's the best way for home sharing movies and tv shows on my iDevices? I know I can use home sharing through iTunes, but I'm looking for a way to share videos to my iDevices without having to leave my computer on. I have a MacPro, iPhone, iPad, Airport Extreme, and Airport Express (and several external hard drives). Can anyone suggest an app that would do this? Can I have videos on an external hd attached to an Airport Extreme/Express and have it stream without iTunes?

If your "server" is new enough to run Mountain Lion, you can purchase the OS X Server app from the Mac App store and you'll have everything you need to host a NetInstall (NetBoot) server.
If your machine does not support Mountain Lion, you'll need to purchase the appropriate Mac OS X Server software (i.e. Lion Server or Snow Leopard Server)
From there you can host NetInstall or NetRestore images, depending on your preferred workflow, which can be created using System Image Utility.
As Richard points out you can also use Deploy Studio which, again depending on your preferred workflow, might simplify things.

Best Way for login???

I was just wondering what everyone thought would be the best
way for a secure login with 4 different access levels. It's going
to do just how it sounds, different levels see/have different
access to different functions and components in the program. Would
an initial php login work? Would it be difficult to implement it

Then you create a loginResultHandler that first checks to see
if the user is logged in. If the user is logged you then check for
their access level. Personally I used digits (in my example roles 1
through 6). The digit is what I store in my database. Once the
logged in user's role is established the state is changed
accordingly. Do some research on using states! It will absolutely
help you to do what you are looking to do. An example of the code

I just finished setting up role based authentication using a
combination of Flex 2, ColdFusion MX 7.02 and MS SQL Server Express
2005. It took my two weeks to set up my CFC's (ColdFusion
Components) and ActionScript files properly.
My user login form is authenticated against my database. If
the user is properly logged in he can only view what he is
authorized to view. :)

I realized that ObservableCollection can contain 1000 items or even more and show that items to listbox just for few second without freezing UI but I don't Know how can I use that!

If you bind an observablecollection you can add items to that from a background thread. Then bind that to the itemssource. I usually new up an observablecollection, add the items then set the bound property to that.
But I avoid thousands of items.
You should provide some sort of filter mechanism the user chooses a category or whatever and then fill with a maximum of 300 items.
Users simply can't work with thousands of items.
It is usually reading the data out a database which takes the time rather than creating objects to bind.
Hence this:

That's making an asynchronous entity framework call.
A list of customers is obtained.
These are then wrapped in a customer viewmodel each.
Finally the observablecollection Customers is set to this new collection and propertychanged raised to notify the view.
The itemssource of a datagrid is bound to Customers.

Need Help Intergrating a Flash slide show

I'm fairly new with Dreamweaver and was doing fine with
building my site until I got to learning how to "Integrate a Flash
slide show". I purchased Adobes "Classroom in a Book" and it has
been an extreme help but once I got to that chapter of the book it
doesn't work when my site is published. I followed all the
instructions in the book and it looks good and works fine within my
site when I do a test but when I publish it to the web nothing
comes up, it is just a blank spot where the Slideshow is suppose to
be. This is how my code looks, please if anyone can help to see if

First of all, it shouldn't be inside the <noscript> tag

Once you fix that, make sure you upload any dependent
files—i.e. slideshow.swf & any javascript files that may
have been generated by DW.
If it still doesn't work after you've taken those steps, then
post a URL to the page in question. It's virtually impossible for
anyone to help you when they can only see part of your code.

Flash slide show ends abruptly

I made a flash website with an introduction slide show. When the slide show is over it closes altogether in the index web page. The slide show works fine but it closes abruptly. I would like to find out if there is a way to fadeout the slide show at the same rate the images fade out, or if there is a way to make a slideshow with a transparent background. The SWF slide show loads externally into the index page.

If you are using AS2 and your loaded slideshow is a timeline animation, then somewhere down the timeline within the loaded file you can probably use:
_root.graphic_mc._visible = false;
This will ease your burden in terms of eliminating the need to detect when the file is loaded.
