Best way to buy Photoshop + Lightroom + Illustrator? [was: Question]

Hello. I apologize in advance if I have posted this question in the wrong place. I'm sure it's just me having a moment! but I was struggling to find the correct area to post this. I want to buy Photoshop cc, Light-room & Illustrator but so far I've only able to find a package that contains Photoshop & Light room. Does this mean I have to buy illustrator separate or is there a package I just haven't noticed? I ask this because there is a big price difference between the package containing 2 & the singular programme i.e. illustrator so if there Is a package I would like to take full advantage of this! Yes, the Photography Package, as it's called, is a special package for photographers which includes Photoshop and Lightroom for $9.99/MO. To get Illustrator, you'll need to additionally buy the Single App Plan for $19.99/MO. This will total $29.98/MO. You do have two more options though: You could simply buy the Full subscription for $49.99/MO which includes all CC apps - Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Indesign, Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects, etc. - OR you could purchase a serial number for the older, but still sold, Illustrator CS6 ($599), in addition to the CC Photography Plan.

Best way to learn Photoshop?

I'm trying to transition to a career as a graphic/web artist and before making the transition I was looking to take a photoshop and/or illustrator classes (preferably weekend classes) in the Los Angeles/Santa Monica area. I don't have photoshop on my computer so ideally I'd be able to find a class that had the program loaded on their computers already.
Any help and/or advice on how to become a graphic/web designer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for taking the time.

A student can buy the whole creative suite for $599 the cost of nonstudent purchase of Photoshop standard. The best way to learn Photoshop is to have it and use it. Click on every button, menu item, and pallet/panel. don't be afraid to look in every nook and cranny, I'm always surprised by the lazy people who ask the most basic questions all because they have not put the time into looking around the application.
seriously if you are going to spend all that money on the app It seems like you would want to spend some time going over it. Think of it as a video game and you must look at everything to win.
also if you only want it to crop pics and print them or put them up on a simple website Elements just might be a better choice

Best way to buy a Macbook Pro at an apple store

I am going to purchase my first macbook pro next week. I am switching from Windows to Apple after 10 plus years of use. I am very excited to make the switch. My question is this, I was wondering what is the best way to buy one at an apple store? Should I schedule a one on one to make sure i get a rep? The reason I say this is because the store i go to is constantly busy and seems as though i probably wouldnt be able to get a sales rep for a while. Also i was wondering if this is something people use alot or does scheduling a one on one not happen very often. The last question I have is should i call ahead to the store to see if they have the macbook that i want in stock? If they dont can i order one over the phone and schedule a pickup at the store? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It never hurts to get a rep, as they may be able to show you things about the machine you may not have known, and if they are well trained, they can answer all your questions and make you feel more comfortable about your purchase.
For custom configurations that are not listed in the store online by default, you will likely need to go online, though some stores have a fully featured configuration with the maximum custom addons all prebundled. For more customization online is better.
Ordering over the phone to the brick and morter store is not as likely to be doable, though some stores may offer it. Each store has their own policy, and I suggest calling them ahead to find out what it is.
You can at least for http://www.apple.com/retail/ set a genius bar appointment ahead of time, to discuss your needs.

If you are able to you should sign out using the Cloud manager program before you reset. YOu will be able to download again after the rest if you need to.

I thought Web Standard included Photoshop. In any event, you can't just upgrade one component of a suite you need to upgrade the entire thing.
Even if you just wanted Photoshop CS5 you'd have to buy a full license for $699. PS Extended will run you $999.
Upgrading to CS5 Web Premium (there is no standard) will cost you $795 http://amzn.to/92gG02.

I'm in Canada and want to buy an iPad for somebody in London, England.
What's the best way to do that?
I went to the Apple UK website, put the iPad in my shopping cart, and went to check out. Then I found out they have a security setting that won't let you buy anything unless you're from the UK/Europe/USA.
Do I have to buy one from an Apple Canada store online and mail it? If so are there any configuration differences for the UK that would prevent it from working even if I got it working here?
I'd prefer to buy it from the UK where they have free shipping direct and guaranteed compatibility. I haven't found any UK stores besides the Apple site that sell them.

Best way to do document covers -- Illustrator or Indesign?

I work on an academic journal that's relatively simple -- no bleeds on the inside, mostly black and white text and illustrations, with a perfect-binding (paper-back-book style spine). I also now design the covers, which are identical for each issue except for the issue number and date on the front and the spine, and a picture in a box on the front cover. There's a background color over the entire cover that bleeds off all edges. I've been doing the cover layout in Illustrator, since I need to do the front, back, and spine in one piece, and since the width of the spine changes based on the page count, and I wouldn't know how to do this easily in Indesign. But I also need to produce single-page PDFs of the front and back covers without the spine, and making these in Illustrator is awkward -- I can do it using the Print Tiling Tool and printing PDFs, but the Print Tiling tool doesn't snap to the page borders, so it's not as accurate as I'd like. I'd also like to see if I can set up the issue number and date as cross references so they'll automatically update each month, which is something I'd have to do in Indesign.
What's the best way to design the front and back cover in Indesign and import to Illustrator to unite them and add the spine? I'm a little worried about seeing borders between the background color of the covers (made in Indesign) and the spine (made in Illustrator). Any advice appreciated...

I do the reverse: front and back covers + spine (with bleed) in 1 spread, and then place that document (cropped to trim) into my single-page layout when generating a low-res PDF of whole book: placed once on front cover, and once on back.

Best way to buy SB Live! 5.1 (SB0060

I was told that Sb Li've! 5. (SB0060) is the best card that still supports DOS/legacy drivers.
However I can't find this card at any store near me (e.g. Fry's and CompUSA). There are only a couple on e-bay and they are all used or without CD, etc., and I've been cheated too many times on ebay. Is there any retailer still selling sealed boxes of this?

The SB0060's newest drivers also do not have DOS drivers so you will need to use the older VXD drivers from our website with it.

BTW I noticed my current sound card (SB Li've! Value) has DOS support in the retail drivers (on the CD it comes with) but the downloads from your site such as Li'veware 3.0 and the "latest drivers" don't support DOS. Is SB0060 basically the same? So if I install the retail SB00600 drivers and then any downloads I will still keep DOS support? (This is why I don't want a used card, I want the retail CD.)
Another questiuon: why is it that when I install the Li'veware 3.0 I get nice new, high-version number dll's and vxd's; but then when I install the "latest driver update" for SB Li've! Value the files become older and the version numbers actually decrease!?
It seems like for SB Li've! cards in general, just installing retail drivers and then Li'veware! 3.0 is the best way to go. The nasty driver updates will actually decrease your version numbers!

Can not buy Photoshop + Lightroom offer

Hi,
for the past 4 days, I have been trying to subscribe to the Photoshop + Lightroom temporary offer, which ends today.
Every time I enter my CC details, the system returns an error message "cannot be processed at the moment, please try again later. This happens everytime. I talked over chat today with a Adobe tech, who said to contact sales by phone. However, sales only answers phoen from Mon-Fri. The temporary offer ends today, as from tomorrow I will be paying much more.
Credit card is fine, has been used today for other payments and works fine. I have tried two other credit cards so th eproblem is with the CC billing system.
