Best way to find a good app developer?

My company has an idea for an app that we'd like developed for IP4....
Can anyone here steer us in the right direction insofar as how we find a good app developer who will do contract work?

They have forums where you can ask questions, like "I need an App developer...HELP." Someone will point you to someone. Or volunteer.
Also, LinkedIn has an iPad/iPhone developer group. I belong to a medical apps subgroup, and I can tell you there's a lot of "advertising" of skills and such. Moreover, LinkedIn gives you the chance to do some background checking.
With these two groups, you will get the best of the best. Don't google for one. You'll get junk surrounding the few diamonds.

Roger, since you have SuperDuper, I think the easiest thing to do would be to make a clone of your current hard drive to the new one when it arrives. You will need an external enclosure for the new drive; make sure it's formatted to Mac OS Extended (Journaled); Disk Utility will do this for you. Then connect that new drive via firewire or USB, and create the clone from your current drive using SuperDuper. Next, remove the internal drive from your Mac, insert the new drive and boot up. You can then place your older drive in the external enclosure to use for extra storage, though it won't be large enough to use as a cloned backup with SuperDuper.

Best Way to Aggregate Multiple Announcement Apps and Possibly External RSS Feed

Hello,
I have two separate announcement apps (one in sub-site A, and one is sub-site B). I am trying to create a webpart that will display content from both apps together.
I have tried to setup a CSWP and have been able to set the query to pull in the data (Although it shows expired announcements, which I would need to eliminate). Now, I am trying to customize the display of the CSWP, including the property mapping values
to display the announcement title (currently working with the URL as a link) and body (truncated like the announcement summary view if possible).
How can I get the body from the announcement to display? The 'body' field isn't listed as an option in the drop down list of mapping values. Do I need to toggle an option on the separate announcement apps, create a column, map a field, or some combination?
Also, I'd like to know if it is possible to add in an external RSS feed. Or, if there is a completely different way to approach and accomplish this, please let me know.

Back up first.
I would probably wait for the merge function of the latest version before merging. Be sure to verify every merge.
Merge Libraries, then from within Aperture move images to referenced on external hard drives.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

Best way to find the source of my iMac's constant crashing

My iMac is crashing 1-2 times a day. The crashes are strange in that I can still move my mouse cursor, but everything on screen is frozen. They tend to happen while using Photoshop or Safari, but during menial tasks (resizing a 3MB photo or opening a new tab), and they happen in other programs as well…even just using the Finder. The crashes have happened over the last six months but only recently became for frequent – used to be a weekly occurence, now it's happening every day.
I haven't installed anything new that might be the culprit, except for GoToMyPC which I've since uninstalled. What is the best way to find out what's causing these crashes?
I've been toying with the idea of starting with a clean slate – wiping out my drive and reinstalling Mountain Lion – to get my Mac back to factory condition. What's the best way to do this? I don't want to go off of a backup because I don't want to bring over any bad processes or programs. So what's the best way to bring over all my files? Should I just copy over the particular files from the Home folder? Any chance I would be bringing over corrupted files?

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
To do an Erase and Install of Mountain Lion:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.

4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.

Sometimes there are apps that I don't realize I use a lot. Is there any way to find out which apps I use the most, so I can put those on my first home screen?

I'd keep and eye on your multitask bar. This tells me what apps I use and often forget I've been in that day.

Look to the app developer to provide that information when browsing the iTunes Store.
The iPod Touch still works, so what's your problem with it? It still works with older apps, it still does what it's intended to do.
If you aren't happy then sell it and buy a new one.

How to find out?

The best way would be to find and query the AcroRd32.exe executable. The file version information is stored in the executable itself.
There are lots of places in the registry that you could also potentially access relevant information.
For example the uninstall string:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Contains a string that you could use to search for the application version.
How you would do this in .NET I'm not sure but you would use some kind of text search command to search for the relevant text and then use "if exists" condition.

What is considered "Best Practices" for the method of saving different versions of your APEX application as you are developing, so that you can go back to that version if something goes wrong?
APEX allows you to Export/Import as well as to copy the application to the same workspace. Which technique is best, or should I do both?
Clearly the Export allows you to save the app to a different location, but if you're not going to deploy it elsewhere, is that necessary? On the other hand, Exporting lets you get the backup out of your workspace, making it less cluttered. Any ideas on this?

It sounds more complicated than it is. Subscribing allows you to keep logic (templates, lists, lovs) in one application and make sweeping changes across all applications which subscribe. It is good for companies that want a consistent look and feel across all applications.
Picture in your Region template you put a logo in the top left hand corner and you have 30 Apex applications in your environment that all look the same. The marketing geniuses at your company decide that the best way to overhaul a company is by changing the logo and now you have to change all the pages to use this new logo. Instead of the http://company/url.jpg your pages pointed at, you now need to repoint every url to http://company/new_logo.jpg.
If you use subscriptions, you can change the Region template once in the "master" application, and all applications which subscribe to that Region template automatically get updated. Maybe not the most realistic example, but it is pretty powerful.
Basically its like an include in other scripting languages where you can include a template - this allows you to change the template once and have all the child apps get the updated template.
