Best way to Loop in DVD SP without getting pause or glitch

I have three 30 sec - 1 min video clips that I need looping on a DVD . What is the most reliable way to set it up in DVD SP to get a loop without a slight pause at the end/beginning of each loop ? Is it too much to ask to avoid a slight pause altogether ? It seems like file size isn't the only consideration in this. All my files are b/t 100- 250 mb. Is that too large ? What other factors am I dealing with ?
(I have tried just putting the video into a track and then selecting that as first play, I have tried putting it the menu as a background loop. Both seem to not avoid that slight pause for the most part, although one DVD i burned did not seem to pause, and often the pause only happens on hardware dvd players)
Any ideas, suggestions etc... most appreciated. Thanks.

    For I-phone and I-pad, what is the best way to open emails and attachments without using wifi?  I turned off wifi in my settings but my boss thinks there may be another way and a better way to use something else instead of wifi.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thank you!

    Thanks!  That is a very good question you post.  My boss asked me that and I am assuming that he is having issues with using wifi wherever he is at.  My boss is the kind of person that when he asks something you look into it and ask him no questions...he's the only one asking questions!  But thank you for your response I will tell him the information you told me and hopefully that will help!

  • What is the best way to make a DVD from iMovie

    What is the best way to make a DVD from iMovie?
    I am using iMovie 06 (Naturally) with iDVD 08. I have always used;
    iMovie 06, File > Share to iDVD 08. And got pretty good results.
    Some say the best way is to quit iMovie 06, open iDVD and import the movie from the Media button.
    I have tried both methods in the results look the same. I'm interested in getting the very best quality possible.

    You likely have one of the most expensive media converter boxes on the market today.
    But does it work well with most macs? (my guess is that it does). But more specifically can it "handshake" with an intel based mac? I personally haven't tried it.
    But you may want to read this for yourself if you haven't already:

    Assuming it works then the best format is .dv which this unit will support apparently.

  • What is the best way to copy a DVD i made from iMovie?  It was HD720 and I don't want to lose any quality in the copies.

    What is the best way to copy a DVD I made from iMovie?  It was HD720 and I don't want to lose any quality in the copies.  I need to distribute it to about 20 people. It's 42 minutes long.

    You will need to save it as a video to the camera roll.
    Import it into windows as you would a photo.
    Then purchase DVD authoring software, and create a DVD.

    What is the best way to Burn a DVD Movie, do I need a specific program?

    If  you're trying to copy a commercial movie and burn it to disc, then it is expressly against the Terms of Use of this community to describe any method to illegally copy or circumvent copy protection DVD's
    If you've made a movie and want to author a DVD, then you should use iDVD, Toast or, if  you're really skilled, Final Cut Pro X.
    If you just want to move a movie to a DVD, which probably won't play on a DVD player, then just insert a blank DVD, and move it over from the finder.  Click burn.

  • Best way to burn a DVD+R DL disc?

    I was wondering what everyone thought was the best way to burn a DVD+R DL disc.
    This is how i do it and let me know if you have better results doing it a different way.
    1. Never burn from DVD SP, always use Toast instead.
    2. Select All Regions (including #7) in DVD SP
    3. Build/Format, then select Harddrive, .img file
    4. Use Toast and select Copy, then Image File.
    1. I never burn in DVD SP because it uses the fastest write speed that your disc/burner does and this seems to have issues.
    2&3. I always select All Region because DVD SP by default doesn't select #7 (no clue to why that is) and if you got to harddrive using .img, then that is CMF format and CMF needs all region (RCM Value of 0). Otherwise DVD SP will have different region codes in the MAIN.DAT vs. the CONTROL.DAT. 0 and possibly 64 or 40.
    4. With Toast you can set the write speed. I just use 2X and this takes 40 minutes or so for a full DVD+R DL disc.
    But..
    Is this the best way?
    Or is the DVD-ROM (UDF) option a better way?
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Brian,
    Not that this really helps you solve the dvdsp thing but if they are regular clients maybe buy a cheap(ish) dvd player that plays your discs fine and send them it. Explain the ±DL issues. Say the authoring is fine but the ±DL media thing is a mine field so here is a player so proofing goes smoother in the future.
    If Toast is working better then send a media input form with the proof stating where the LB will be on the master etc.
    I'd like to hear anything anyone else has to say but I'm sure we're aware of most of the options already.
    FWIW, if you're running 10.4.x you can type drutil info in Terminal and hit enter to see what types of media the attached drives can burn,
    Good luck,
    -Jake

  • Best way for a thread to wait without busy-waiting

    Hi!
    I have a thread that has nothing to do but to monitor the status of a variable
    public static boolean askToClose. This variable is set by other
    threads to indicate that this thread should stop now. But I don't want the thread
    to busy-wait like in this piece of code :
    public void run() {
         while (!askToClose) {
              Thread.sleep(1000);
         cleanAndStop();
    }I'm new to Thread programming in Java so I'm not sure what's the best way to wait
    for an event without busy-waiting. I've tried using interruption instead of
    monitoring for the boolean variable :
    public void run() {
         try {
              synchronized (this) {
                   System.out.println("WAITING");
                   wait(0);
         catch (InterruptedException e) {
              System.out.println("INTERRUPTED !");
         cleanAndStop();
    }and the other threads would simply call myThread.interrupt() instead of setting
    askToClose = true;And I've also used a LinkedBlockingQueue :
    public static LinkedBlockingQueue q = new LinkedBlockingQueue();
    public void run() {
         try {
              q.take();//Waiting
         catch (InterruptedException e) {}
         cleanAndStop();
    }and on the other threads :
    MyThread.q.add(new Object());Which one is the best solution ? Do I really avoid busy waiting with this code? Is
    there a better way of doing this?
    Thx for your help !

    Your wait() based solution is OK, except that the other thread should
    use
    synchronized()
      notify();
    }

    I want to know the best way to use a DVD with FCP. I have been converting the DVD to Quicktime and using the .mov file, but my final output is to be Flash and I don't want to degrade the video first converting it to Quicktime and then editing it, and then encoding it in Flash. Hi
    Same in iMovie as in FinalCut.
    I prefere -
    • Roxio Toast™ to back-convert to streamingDV - or -
    • HandBrake - or -
    • raw way - DVD-player to a miniDV tape Camera and just copy.
    *DVD back for futhur editing*
    A. don't put a mini-DVD into Your Mac unless it’s a trayloaded DVD burner/reader
    B. iMovie’08 prob. 09 can import from DVD (homemade without copyprotection)
    C. I prefere one of these two ways
    • Copy to miniDV tape from set-top DVD-player --> Camera -or-
    • Roxio Toast™ - Can back convert to streamingDV for iMovie or FinalCut
    D. Read what Karsten collected.

    DVDs are in a socalled delivery format (mpeg2), which isn't meant and
    made for any processing as editing... or, as honorable forum member
    QuicktimeKirk stated. I use the analogy of the old Polaroid
    "instant" cameras. Push the button, wait for the print to develop and
    show it off. ..
    for using the iLife apps, you have to convert'em first, in
    recommended order, choose one of the following tools/workarounds.
    • DVDxDV (free trial, 25$, Pro. 90$)
    • Apple mpeg2 plugin (20$) + Streamclip (free)
    • Cinematize >60$
    • Mpeg2Works >25$ + Apple plug-in
    • Toast 6/7/8/9/10 allows converting to dv/insert dvd, hit apple-k
    • connect a miniDV Camcorder with analogue input to a DVD-player and transfer disk to tape/use as converter
    • Drop2DV (free) a free tool claiming to convert DVDs into dv-stream...
    • Use iSquint for your conversions . www.iSquint.org

  • What is the best way to import pictures from iPhoto without compression?

    I'm trying to create a slide show using Final Cut Pro. No, I'm not interested in using iDVD slide show function because it doesn't allow me to do a whole lot. I would like to add titles and music for certain segments with video inserted here and there.
    Anyway, when I used the slide show function in iPhoto, exported it out as a quick movie file, and then imported it into Final Cut Pro, I noticed a significant downgrade in quality of images. It obviously looks different from when I play the slide show in iPhoto. What would be the best way to import pictures into Final Cut Pro without any compression?
    Thanks in advance.

    I only see Share > Export.
    Some versions of iPhoto work that way -it's just Apple moving things around.
    what's the difference between exporting it from iPhoto then import it into FCP vs. just importing directly from FCP?
    Your first post mentioned exporting a slide show from iPhoto -I assumed that is where your images are stored.
    I do not want to import pictures one by one...
    You don't have to. iPhoto will let you select as many as you want, or if the images are elsewhere, you can also select multiple files from FCP's Import dialog.
    ...and stick them together manually.
    Editing is an art and involves some effort on your part. It is not an automated process. This method opens up far more possibilities, access to filters and color correction and the opportunity to use Motion for even more sophisticated animation.
    But, it only allows me to export it as 720 x 480. The original size of my photos is 3872 x 2592. Is there any way I can create a quicktime file in the original size?
    You should be aware that 3872 x 2592 is not a standard pixel aspect ratio that is used in video. The images will be resized to the Sequence settings that you set up in Final Cut Pro.
    I have never used iPhoto to make a slideshow before, but I just gave it a try and was able to export one with the images in their native size, simply by typing the pixel dimensions into the boxes in the dialog window:
    I don't have PhotoMagico myself, but it comes highly recommended by several of the forum regulars.
    Perhaps one of them will see this discussion and help with your last question.

  • Best way to burn multiple DVDs?

    I need to burn about 30-40 DVDs of a project that I created in DVD SP. What is the best way to do this? The first one took a couple of hours to process and burn.
    Thanks,
    Hagen

    I use a 1-to-8 duplication tower with an internal hard drive; load the DVD onto the hard drive and make several copies at the same time.
    But if you don't have one of those, Toast does a nice job. Or you can do it in Disk Utility: http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/making_dvdcopies.html

  • Best way to make multiple DVD

    In the past to make multiple DVD's, I just open Encore and burn a Disk and click to do X amount of copies.  Is this the best way to do it?  Or it is better if I make a file or master dvd and make copies that way?

    I use either the multiple disc setting in Encore, or Ann's method, except that I use the great, free utility, ImgBurn. I can also launch multiple copies of it, and use both burners on my system, if necessary.
    Not sure that I can think of any +'s or -'s to either.
    In a few instances, I have had to use the "master" method, but try to cover the bases earlier on in the process.
    Good luck,

  • Best way to export for DVD

    Hi Guys
    Right, I am exporting to DVD and i want to know the best way to do this at the highest quality, but also, so the DVD will play on most players.
    I am shooting in HDV 1080i 60, importing to Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 (the older final cut pro) using the apple intermediate codec.
    I want to make the best quality SD dvd. The content is rarely over 5 minute's (kids music videos) but i am preparing a 50 minute show which needs to be put on DVD.
    I usually use; export to quicktime movie, with the setting dv pal 48 khz anamorphic, i use DVD studio pro also to make the DVD, but not sure what the best settings are.
    PLEASE HELP.

    The BEST export method I have found by comparing them all is by exporting using Compressor and the DVD Best Quality setting. Now this setting gives you a few different options for length of your project: 120 minutes, 150 minutes, or 90 minutes. And then with each of these length options comes the option of 4:3 or 16:9. So if your project is 50 minutes, select the DVD: Best Quality 90 minutes option, either 4:3 or 16:9 depending what your project is. After laying your cursor over this option it will open up a list of audio options. What I do is just select the "All" option, which then lists all 3 audio options in your batch window: AIFF, Dolby 2.0, and MPEG-2. What I then do is just delete the MPEG and Dolby options, leaving the AIFF. After waiting for it to compress (make sure you specify a destination for the files so you can find them) it will give you 2 files, an MPEG-2 file which is the movie file, and an AIFF file (looks like an itunes file) that is the audio file. At this point, open up DVD Studio Pro and drag these 2 files into the assets window, and you're good to go from there. Hope this helped.

  • Best way to loop through multiple rows to search for a count result

    I have a script where I'm trying to find a Rollup row without any children. I have created a SQL statement to do this, but I can only input one point at a time. If the count is greater than 0 then i'm good to go. If the count is 0 then I want to know about it.
    select count (*) from (Select * From ESSBASE_FCS.Ham
    where hier_pt like (Select substr(hier_pt, 1,8)||'%' as hcy_pt
    From ESSBASE_FCS.Ham
    Where Hier_Pt = '412375....')
    And Cctr_Or_Rollup 'Rollup')
    What is the best way to develop a SQL script that searches through all my Hier_pt's and return everything with a count of 0, instead of manually inputing each hier_pt at a time?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
    Please read SQL and PL/SQL FAQ
    Please provide table structure, sample data and expected output.
    Additionally when you put some code please enclose it between two lines starting with {noformat}{noformat}
    i.e.:
    {noformat}{noformat}
    SELECT ...
    {noformat}{noformat}
