bought mainly n200 so i could record my favorite DJ once a week. I recorded from fm and after i recorded the show. The results were the tone of volume had sudden shifts in tone. In additon, some fuzz. tried two dffernt way one the fm recorder and the other having it attached straight to the radio and the results were similar. Whats the besy way to have good sound.

The truly free solution would be to find a freeware audio recorder that is AppleScript-compatible (look around on macupdate.com), and write or find an AppleScript that would be the timer. You could possibly script everything from launching the recorder to setting its options. The only catch would be to leave the AM radio running with a cable going into the Mac's audio input.
The easy option is to get the RadioShark2, but that's not free.
The only iPhone solution I can think of is to use the iPhone to find the radio station's website where they might have the program available for on-demand download...

While theoretically possible, sometimes the camera people disable recording back to tape from the computer due to DRM (digital rights managment) issues. They will allow tape to tape transfers however.

If you already have a digital video camera, you can probably do it without buying anything extra. I have done this by connecting the video output from my able box to an input on my video camera, then connected the camera to the computer using the FireWire cable. I opened iMovie and imported the video from there. Of course, it's a bit of a pain, so I haven't done it often, and the quality is only as good as your camera is capable of. You may need to buy the cable to connect the cable box to the camera, though mine came with such a cable.

you can use iMovie to record a video for free on a Mac with iSight.
1. Open iMovie HD
2. Choose “Create a new project”
3. Name the project for example “iSight Movie” (first field). In the second field, let the default location “Sequences”, in the third one, video format, choose “iSight”. Push “Create”
4. iMovie window opens, next to the scissors, choose the camera (Camera mode), then iSight. Now you appear on the screen, right?
5. Press “Record with iSight” in the main picture window.
6. Press the same button to stop. Your new clip appears now in the clip panel at the right.
7. You are done!

In my first violins I am using forte legato, pianissimo pizz, forte tremelo and forte marcato in 1 phrase within 4 bars. What now would be the best way to record this? I am using Peter Siedlaczek's Complete Classical Collection. Do I make a seperate track for every effect and record 1 bar on every track? Or do I use the Key Switch for every effect withing 1 track? What is the most easiet way of working and especiallyu, what used not all my processor power? I only have a PowerPc with w GB ram.

Seems like you've answered your own question as those are the two ways to do what you are trying to do. Using the key-switch will be less CPU intensive than using multiple instances of the plugin.

Best way to record electric guitar

Hi all,
after months of playing with GarageBand, a fantastic tool, I decided to try to record something with my electric guitar, just to see if I could be able to compose a song
Well, I recently got a Dual G5 PowerMac, I saw it has a line in and a digital audio connector. I even got an iMic, a leftover from the "old" Dual G4 I had.
So far, which is the best way to record my electric guitar? I already have the 1/4" -> 1/8" adaptor, should I just plug it in the iMic or the line in port on the rear of the Mac?
Or , should I use a pre-processor before sending the signal to the Mac (I have an effect simulator from yamaha)?
And, in case neither of the 2 scenarios are really worth it, what do you suggest?
I already tried using the search feature, but I really couldn't find 1 clear topic that summed up my questions... sorry 'bout that.

You can certainly try the Line-In, you won't hurt anything. Most people find that it doesn't work very well because guitar is not "Line-Level".
Others question the quality of the A/D converts built in to the Mac. Personally, I doubt the iMic's are any better, but the level problem usually forces one away from the direct Line In without some form of pre-amp.
I've used the iMic (though with a mixing console) and found it acceptable. A higher quality interface (read much more money) yields much better results ... it's always a trade off.

If I were trying to record something very important, likely "get one chance only" type of thing, I would not use GB to do the recording. I would use a tape recorder and then later transfer the recording to GB.

Thanks for the response. My HTC can record my video, but it is my old phone so is no longer connected to network or even works as a phone. This is why I need to either beam/bluetooth the file, or use a cable if that's the way to do it.
Unless I'm missing some other obvious way. I suppose if I have to, I can record video, either on my HTC or digicam then convert and drop into itunes, synch and then its on my iphone to upload to YouTube (if this format works for YouTube)
Long story short - I'm looking for a quck way to record video and upload using the iphone, on the go (ie. not needing my home PC)

Your question is a little too broad. Hard to know what sports you are talking about.
If you have a newer Mac, you can use airplay to mirror anything on your Mac to your apple tv. Or use the ESPN app.
But a lot of sports just can't be streamed as they are available, though I bet this year sees a lot of new livestreams on sports on YouTube or Ustream.

I have some question about collaborating between InDesign with InCopy. My question is which one the best way to engage InDesign with InCopy, the way number one or number two?
Usually, I make assignment first in InDesign, and I put that file (.inca) on a server. So the editor can open the inca file from server. Instead of Editor, I take the incx file from server.
The Editor directly open Indd File from server, so I'm not necessary to create assignment file.
I hope someone can help to solve this my problem. Thank you very much for attention.
note: What server and network requirement for best result InDesign and InCopy workflow?

I respectfully disagree; I think assignments are in most cases (not all) more trouble that they're worth. For your local work, continue w/INDD files only. It just makes things simpler.
When an editor wants to work on something off-site, the designer can make an assignment on the fly for them. It could even be the entire document as one large assignment. Since the stories are already exported, you just need to make the assignment (Create New Assignment from the Assignment panel menu) and the drag/drop the linked stories to that assignment. Other people can still open the INDD file but they won't be able to edit the stories that were packaged for the remote editor.

What is the best way to export data with Run time prompts out of Essbase?
One thought was to use Business Rules with run time variables and DATAEXPORT command, but I came across at least one limitation where I cannot have months (part of dense Time Periods dimension) on rows.
I have only two dense dimensions: Accounts and Time Periods and I need both of these on rows. This would come handy when user enter Start and End month and year for data to be exported e.g. If start period is Feb 2010 and end is Jan 2011, I get data for all months in 2010 and 2011.

Best way to control voltage with my code?

I need to be able to control current and voltage of a power supply. What would be the best way to implement this with my code? I realize that I need to use a DAQmx Start and Stop task. I *think* I would like the task to start when the user runs the program. The voltage and current should be 0 when I start it, or a really low number.
Currently, the program I am working off of using TraditionalDAQ. It uses 'AO Write One Update.vi' to update the voltage and current.
How can I use DAQmx to achieve the same? Is it possible to also have the DAQmx code in an event structure in the same way?
Can I do this in my event structure, in a new event? The code below shows my code. There are two loops, the bottom one handles acquisition and logging. The top one handles the events.

There are an excellent series of NI Tutorials on DAQmx. Not that they are easy to find, but start here: DAQmx White Papers. This is an especially useful White Paper: The Top 10 DAQmx Functions.
Something that also helps a lot is to configure your device using MAX (and use MAX to run it to be sure it is working correctly). Once you have it configured, save it as a Task, which encapsulates all of the "picky details" (such as channel names/numbers, sampling rates, clock sources, etc.). When you go to write your code, simply right-click on the Start Task VI and create a constant, expand the Constant (which should show you MAX's Tasks), and choose the Task you just created. No need for numerous confusing DAQmx Configuration VIs.

What's the best way to share analytics with a third party (our client in this case)? Setup a new DPS user and restrict access to just analytics (is that even possible)? Is there some other software out there to accomplish this? Perhaps something that scrapes itunesconnect? Basically, our client wants sales numbers. I'd like to go a step further and provide content stats.

What is the best way to bundle JavaHelp with an application....
At present I have to run the application that uses JavaHelp as follows
java -classpath ;lib/jhall.jar HelpMenu
Is there a better way? so that when the application is moved to a client machine the classpath to the javaHelp jhall.jar does not have to be supplied as above?

If you don't want to specify the classpath you can
1> either create a batch/shell script with lauches the app with the appropriate classpath
2> You jar your app and specify the classpath in your jars's MANIFEST.MF file like this.
Main-Class: main class name which will launch the app
Class-Path: jhall.jar
The above entries assume jhall.jar is in the same dir as your main jar. You can put more jars in the classpath above by separating them with space.
With this the app can be just lauched by typing: java -jar filaname.jar
