Best way to redistribute function modules...

Hi,
The .NET application that I am working on communicates with SAP using some custom RFC enabled function modules.
Now, we need to create a redistributable package that contains the custom FMs so that any customer can install it.
In the past, we created a SAP transport file containing the FMs. The customers would simply install the transport file.
I am wondering if there is a better way of packaging the FMs.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Peter

  • What is the best way, while creating Function Module based extractor

    Hi Friends,
    I am Sreekanth.
I have created a Functio Module based Extractor,
To fetch data from COPA tables.
In this extracton 3 tables are getting involved.
    1) CE3OP01 2) CE4OP01 and 3) CE1OP01.
    Logic required is as follow:
    1) get data from CE3OP01 and for all entries of this data set,
get data from CE4OP01 and CE1OP01 and finally send the data set to BW after few manupulations.
I have implemented the whole logic and its working fine in DEVELOPMENT box where data volume is less.
But the same code is timing out in Quality Box, due to huge volues of data.
Below I am copying the code that i am using . Any body can suggest me how to proceed further so that my code works with huge volumes of data.
Now I am getting the time out error while selection data from CE3IOP01 table itself.

  • What is the best way of accessing application module without page binding?

    Hi All
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g R2 (11.1.2.3) & Weblogic 10.3.5.0
What is the best way of accessing application module without page binding?
In my application after user authenticated from LDAP
I need to read some information from database and set my menues.
    Thanks
    Mohsen

    Hi,
if you don't have a binding the I am not sure the binding context is created. Anyway, try
BindingContext.getCurrent().findDataControl("name here as ID in DataBindings.cpx") and see if it returns a valid instance

  • What is the best way to separate functionality ?

I have this project where I need to develop a component  for other flash developers to use. The scenario if you are the one who's going to use my "component" is like this:
    1) you create a new project
    2) you load the provided swf (or include the provided swc file) file and use the documented api (using interfaces if loaded as swf) to initiate it (for example just call the initiate function and that's it). What the component does itself is pretty much just adding a start up functionality to the website you are building, which includes: functions which make httpRequests and get data which the website will use, loading modules with fonts/graphic assets. It will also communicate the progress of these to the main application so the flex dev can display the progress to the user. At the end when the component has finished prepearing the assets you'll need for the website it notifies the main application.
    3) And there is where the flex dev start his work using the api provided with the component to access the data he needs.
So what I want to do is package and keep my component source code compiled (to restrict access to the source code) and provide and easy way for the developers to use it. So I figured there 2 ways of doing that:
    1) compile a module/application swf
    2) complie a swc with a singleton
I started doing it with module swf when I started wondering if that's the best way to do it. I would be happy if someone could give me any thoughts on this one, pros and cons maybe why should I do that and not the other, hopefully an adobe employee will take a look too. Thanks in advance!

Actually, can I even compile swc files from flex using framework components like httpRequest and then load them as RSL ?
    *UPDATE:
Seems like I can make my custom component include it in a library project, export it as swc and include that swc as RSL in my actual Flex project.
But I'm still not sure which approach is better, using RSL for this case or just a module? Does it make any difference ?
Also another question that rises in my mind is that if using RSL which class should I extend from, when this component will have no visual representation but should be able to do httpRequests and load modules/applications?

  • Suggest me way for calling Function Module in BSP page

    Dear Friends,
I want to create sales order using BSP. For that there is an bapi called BAPI_SALES_CREATEFROMDAT2. I have two ways to do that.
    1. I will create all the required structure on the BW system and then i can call the bapi.
    2. I will create another function module which calls the BAPI_SALES_CREATEFROMDAT2. and i will pass all the require parameters to my created Function module.
In the first case i suppose to create structure for header data, order items and partner data. It is quite lenghty work.
In the second case i need not to create any kind of structure or types-pool.
If answer is case1 then should i create exact structure or i can create that many fields contained structure which i require?
Suggest me that whether should i follow first case or i should follow second case and also which one is more powerful?

    Thanks for giving me answer.
I have tried to find through BAPI Browser for BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 but unfortunately it is not creating the structure. This is very suprising for me because as per your weblog and as per your answer it should be generated. Now i have two choices :
    1. I create same structure on 6.20 system manually for that i have to create around 100 data elements or may be more than that which are not exits on 6.20 system.
    2. I will create another function module on 4.6c system which calls BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 and i need to pass only selected parameters.
2nd option is suitable for me but i have doubt that is the proper way for working production?

  • What is the best way to reuse functions in MVC environment?

I have several commands (using Cairngorm MVC) which use the
same type of function that returns a value. I would like to have
this function in one place, and reuse it, rather than duplicate the
code in each command. What is the best way to do this?

You could put it in an actionscript file, and then just
import that file in wherever you need it.

  • Best way to create functional pages

We are getting ready to migrate all our content and functional pieces from out old CMS to CQ5. We have 20 or so pages that are not managed for content. They are basically forms that handle calculations. So we don't really need these in CRX for content managers to open and edit.
So I am wondering what is the best way to go about this? We'll need one template I suppose, but twenty pages will need to created and very customized forms will need to be created that likely would be better off not being editable in CQ.
So I guess my real question is where do we put these files? How do we build them. The code is already there, we just need to find them a home. Maybe a example of a tree structure would be helpful, or if there are tutorials anywhere that deal with this type of thing.

    Willy,
According to the CQ5 Developer Training, the best way to do a website structure like these one is by the following steps:
1 - Create a CRX Project (By CRXDE Lite or CRX DE): you need to start by this step because any components that will be used in your site need to be created and managed by CRX. Besides, all the coding (html, css, javascript, jsp, etc) you'll do in the CRX, not in the CQ WebSites.
2 - After create a project, the first component you need to build is the template. The template defines wich components can be used within the selected scope. Every page you'll create after the structure building process will be related to this template.
3 - After the template, you'll build the Page-rendering component. This is the first definition of pages, and inside this component you will create the html/jsp/others pages.
4 - By now, you will be able to create a website and pages in the CQ5 WebSites using the template that you created in step 2 and the pages will look exactly like the
page-rendering component created in the step 3. Everything after that is are adittionals, like a logo component, a parsys component, a serch component, etc.
Here you can see the structure of folders/components in CRX that I created following the Exercise Guide of the Developer Training.
Hope that these informations can help you.

  • What is the best way to use EJB modules with JAX-WS?

    Hi.
I am doing a project that returns EAN13 encoded data to external java clients.
I think I need to use a webservice that send response, a webservice client that send the request, and other project that transforms a data to an EAN encoded data, returns it and store it in MySql database.
It is possible that I need to authenticate users for every request made.
-I have created a EJB module contained into Glassfish for the webservice
-I have created a Common Java project with 3 layers: Entities, bussines and data access layer for mysql database
-I have a project for the webservice client with JAX-WS ( is the best choice? or Would be better JAX-RPC? )
**How would you suggest me create the structure of the project with all the java power?*
**Could you help me with goods tutorial of design patterns about webservices using EJB and the best way for use databases for this kind of projects ( I have heard about JNDI, Hibernate, Session EJB, ... )?*
**Would be better use other EJB module instead of a Common java project that has classes?*

Kappy is dead on correct about Bridge Mode as a requirement for the Time Capsule.
Do you know how to check to see if the Time Capsule is configured this way?
Next question.....you really should not try to have two wireless networks....one Arris and another Time Capsule.....unless it is absolutely necessary. Two wireless routers in close proximity can create wireless interference effects that can cause problems with either...or both...networks.
Best to turn off the wireless on one router to keep the chances of wireless interference between routers minimized.
Are both the Arris and Time Capsule providing wireless signals?

  • Best way to Unit test Modules?

I am working on a Project where the main app is a separate Flex project and then there are several Modules each having their own unit tests. What is the best recommended way of setting up something like this in terms of test runners? I would like to have one test runner that loads all others?

I have never unit tested just a controller. I have always done end to end testing with the systems I have worked on, so I am coming from a different viewpoint than yourself. I would tend to think that just running a full unit test all the way to your database would be the best test. You will be more likely to find the issues with your program if you are testing with an environment as similar to production as possible.
After running a test you can either purge the data you entered from your test by having sql scripts run against the db, or if this is difficult just reload the database from its original backup. You would probably be able to purge the data quicker than reloading the database from my experience, but it depends on your complexity of the sql scripts.
    best of luck.

    Hi,
    I'm new to this forum.
I would like to know if there is a way (maybe some function modules) to collect information like system architecture, and databases as displayed in transaction st06?
I would like to call it from external program in order to view part of the data available in st06.
    Thanks,
    Erez Gordon.

have a look at function group SMON.
Not sure if these are remote enabled, otherwise create a wrapper function module (RFC).

  • How to identify function module

    Hi all,
iam doing where used list for a perticular filed and getting some programs. In that porgrams i have to identify function modules.Normally we can identify executable prog,Include, module with PROG TYPE 1,I,m respectivly.
Is there any way to identify Function modules.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    srinivas.m

Function modules belong to function groups.  You can spot a program that is a function group because it begins SAPL.
    E.g. fn group SP01
    SAPLSP01
Function modules begin with L, and end with Unn, where nn is a number between 00 and 99.
    E.g. LSP01U01
Other includes belonging to function group, for example those containing forms, have a the last three characters as anything.
    E.g. LSP01FRM, LSP01MOD
If you spot any includes that look like this, when you do a where-used, they are related to function groups and/or function modules.
