Best way to send data to server?

Hi,
I'm sending the usual info (name, email, address, city &
zip) from flex to a PHP script which then emails that data to me
and I was wondering if I should send each separately (
variables.name = name.text ) and format it in php to send to me or
should I format all the data in flex and send it as one lump to php
( variables.client, where client has all the above data formated in
the way I need )? Which would be the best or doesn't it matter?
Thanks,
Paul

Send it all at once. Why not?

  • Best Way to send data from InfoProvider to DBTable

    Hi all,
I need some advices on this subject :
I want to send some data, stocked in several InfoCubes, to a table.
This cubes are linked by a multicube (for queries).
I don't know the best way to send the data in a table :
    - Use Open hub on each cube to send data
    - Use ABAP code for extract data directly from MultiCube (possible?)
    - Use open hub on multiprovider (I think it's not possible to plug a open hub to the Multiprovider...)
What is the best practice on that?
    Can you help me please?
    Thanks in advance,
    Adrien.

    Oh yes, my mistake.
I didn't think abuot the APD solution.
I think it should be a good one...
With the ABAP, it seems very difficult indeed.
I'm gonna check this way ! Thanks for your help Daniel !
And except the licence cost, the Open hub should be a good solution??

  • How is the best way to send data from local database into remote database ?

    Hi all,
I need to send data from local Oracle database into remote oracle database. Both sites connected via 128 kbps frame relay connection.
The sending need to be done once a week, can be done nightly.
How is the best way to do this ?
    Thank you very much,
    xtanto

How is the best way to do this ?How much are you planning to send?
You can use COPY command. Ensure that you have valid database link between two databases.
    Available options are:
create - creates a new table. errors out if the destination table exists.
replace - drop the destination table and re-creates with data.
insert - inserts data if the destination table exists.
append– appends data into an existing table.
use set arraysize 5000 -The arraysize specifies the number of rows that SQL*Plus will retrieve from the database at one time.
    copy from scott/tiger@ORCL to scott/tiger@ORCL92 create new_emp using select * from emp;

  • Which is the best way to send information from server to SIM

    hi,
can anyone help me,i want to send sms to an sim through smsc from tomcat server. Is there anyway way to implement it

SQL server does not have any version named SQL server 2003 please check the version correctly it should be either SQL 2005,2008,2008 R2,2012
You can use the backup/restore to upgrade the SQL 2000 database to till SQL 2005,2008,2008R2
For SQL Server 2000 to 2012
First upgrade from SQL 2000 database to either SQL 2005, 2008 or 2008R2 and than upgrade it to SQL 2012.

And after migration to SQL 2005 or 2008, if you want to script the database than can generate scripts pick DB and check off "script all objects in the selected database".

  • Best way to send objects to server and recreate stage?

i want to send an object and its properties (that have been manipulated) to my server. I then plan to re-create this object and automatically create a screenshot of the object (i do not want to do this client side). i'm planning to use POST and some php for each property as its changed, and then load this data into a server side as3 script. i would like this server side script to take the object in automatically, and create an image server side - is there anyway to doing all this while not prompting for any input (from what i've learnt, flash needs a prompt before saving a file)? i haven't used flex, could it be used here?
Is there any better way to do this? i'm open to any suggestions!

yes, that is what i was planning to do. except, the saving of images to the server would have to be done manually ? can i automate it somehow? call an as3 file to do it. kinda like an executable? that may save me a lot of mouse clicking...
this is my first flash php program. i see you have some sort of flash consulting thing. my project is really small, like 100 lines of code. when i am done, i wouldn't mind you looking through it to give me some tips...  how much do you usually charge if you don't mind me asking?

  • Best way to read data sources in parallel

    Hi,
I'm looking for conceptual help as I start a project. I am trying to figure out the best way to get data from several sources at different timings and deliver them to a main vi.
I have 4 systems, which each work well on their own (OK, one doesn't work yet, but let's assume that can be fixed
One system reads from 2 pH meters on serial ports. The meters are slow to respond, so it takes about 2 minutes to read 4 channels of data. I save these data to a file every 10 minutes
One system reads from a CO2 meter on the USB port. It reads the data every second, and does some averaging. Every 2-10 minutes, it saves the average to a file and then sends a command to the parallel port to switch the input to the meter.
The third system reads from 6 valves, each on a serial port. These also take time, probably several minutes to poll all 6. These data will also be saved to a file.
The 4th system reads a bank of temperature probes on the USB port. These get polled every few seconds and saved to a file every few minutes.
Now that these individual routines are working, I am trying to create a front end that will display all the data in one place and allow me to set all the parameters from a single place. I would also like the possibility of using the data from one source at another place (for instance, having the output of the temperature probes sent to the pH meters to adjust their calibration). At this point, I get confused as to the best way to proceed.
It seems like if I just want to read the data from each source, I could simply put all 4 routines together in a single vi (oh, what a mess that would be to read). Maybe I should start this way?
However, if I want to have any communication between the different data sources, it seems like I will either need to use queues or VI server. I sort of envision a vi that lets me configure the various ports and the file operations and then can turn on monitoring of any or all of the various inputs. Each of them will do their thing at their own time and the main routine will simply display whatever data they deliver whenever they have new data. Fortunately, nothing is particularly time-critical, nor does it need to run fast.
My questions: Am I correct in how I'm thinking about getting this to work?   Is there a clear choice between queues or vi server? I've looked at several examples of each, but without having done something like this before, it is hard for me to tell which is better.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    mike

    Hi Mike,
I think that you are on the right track with your thinking process. You might be able to implement this using queues. I'm not exactly sure how you would do it with VI server since it is just a set of functions that allows you to dynamically control front panel objects, VIs, and the LabVIEW environment. However, there are some great resources available with using queues for this type of application. I'm including the link to another discussion forum that had a very similar question to yours. There is a good example of using queues within this forum post. Also, there is a great example in NI Developer Zone about using queues and some other good ones in the NI Example Finder (just search 'queues' and you should get a few results). I hope this helps!

Never mind, I'm in a habit of answering my own posts these days. Just create
a job configuration in printcon that uses a device with the appropriate
    device modes.
Is it just me, or is Netware queue-based printing a bit on the obtuse side?
Seems like it could have been made a whole lot easier (more linear?) to set
    up.

  • Best way to pass data to and from a fieldpoint unit

    Hello,
I am just starting to play with a fieldpoint unit and I was wondering the best way to send and receive data with it.  We are setting up a pumping station and need to send the FP a setpoint and be able to read other sensor connected to it.  I know there are at least a few options such as data socket, publish data, shared variables and maybe tcp/ip.  But I was wondering as to the best/easiest option.
    Thanks

For case #1, you wouldn't have to do anything special.  The setpoint would just remain at whatever value was last written to it by the host system (the one where you are at the controles).
For something like #2, you would probably want an extra routine, such as read the timestamp of the shared variable, if the cFP sees that it is too old (whether that would be a minute, an hour, a day ....) then the code goes into a pump down routine.  Another possibility would be a watchdog type of shared variable.  The host system periodically increments a counter and sends it to a shared variable on the cFP.  If the cFP sees that the counter hasn't incremented in a given period of time, then it can assume a connection was lost and do the shutdown routine.
Going with shared variables will definitely get you started quicker.  Good luck with your application.

  • Best Way to Load Data in Hash Partition

    Hi,
I have partitioning by Hash on a Large Table of 5 TB. We have to load Data say more than 500GB daily on that table from ETL.
What is the best way to Load data into that Big Table which has hash Partition .
    Regards
    Sahil Soni

Do you have any specific requirements to match records to lookup tables or it just a straight load - that is an insert?
Do you have any specific performance requirements?
The easiest and fastest way to load data into Oracle is via external file and parallel query/parallel insert. Remember that parallel DML is not enabled by default and you have to do so via alter session command. You can leverage multiple CPU cores and direct path operation to perform the load.
Assuming your database is on a linux/unix server - you could NFS load the file if it is on a remote system, but then you will be most likely limited by network transfer speed.

  • Whats the best way of sending files ?

whats the best way of sending files (mp3's) to another computer over the internet, been doing it over msn, but takes a while, is there any other way?

Have you thought of using an intermediary file server, e.g. yousendit.com, rapidshare.de, etc? Alternatively, you could do it the computer-to-computer route by enabling either 'Remote Login' or 'FTP Access' (Sharing preference pane) on one and connecting with the other.
As an aside, what you're doing isn't illegal, is it? Pardon my bluntness.

  • Best way of sending signals between two VIs

    Hello all,
I have two VIs. One that generate some complicated signals (sine wave, impulse, etc.). The other one takes manually inputted voltage and pressure send them out to some hardware with a pump, and reads back the output of the pump.
What is the best way of sending the waveforms from the signal VI to the manual control VI? I still need to be able to control the signals manually in that manual control VI.
    Thanks.

For exactly this kind of process, I am using queues, FG and (relax ppl, I know..) global variables. If you are writting a global in one Vi and reading it in another (to prevent accidental (fake)updating); globals are easy to implement. Many people hate them (I do, sometimes) but for these kind of cases I think they are well adapted.
For FG you need a user control and a vi for each variable you want to share... Both FG and globals are "bottle in the ocean" like of information : you send some info and sometimes this info will arrive somewhere...
If you need to be sure that the info is passed then Queues are to be used...

While you may not run into race conditions using global variables in a write once/read many approach they do not protect you from some part of your application deciding to write to them. FG at least provide some level of protecting access while globals do not. In addition, global variables can create multiple copies of your data. If your data is large, this can be problematic. I much prefered using a defined messaging scheme. The intent is very clear and you can provide safe guards. Even FGs are better. I personally would never recommend the use of global variables even though some cases MAY work out. A defined API is always a prefered approach and helps to keep the code modular and decoupled. This leads to greater reuse. Global variables tie things together and make reuse more difficult.

  • Best way to send a text to a number in Australia?

So I have a BBRY BOLD, and the basic phone through Verizon and unlimited data plan through Blackberry.  Naturally, I never elected the world plan, because I didn't think I needed it.  But I now have a friend from Tasmania, and would like to know the best way to send her a text message without incurring additional charges, and without having to add additional services.  I have her Tasmanian Mobile number, but not her email, so I cannot email her.  Suggestions?

I don't suppose she has a BlackBerry, does she? If she did, you could BBM to your heart's content for free.
