Best way to send files like photos wireless from Macbook to iPhone/Ipad? And Then vice versa?

What are the ways to send files like photos wireless from Macbook to iPhone/Ipad? And Then vice versa?

Just one comment on this:
‘If I have, say, an older version of iPhoto but a newer version of one on my new Macbook Pro, will it still transfer photos no problem?’
the problems are ALWAYS in the reverse way, when you have the newest (or a newer) version of a given app, and wish to transfer its library to an older version.
Otherwise, see the link to Pondini.
I have been using Martin Jahn’s iBackup, with which I have become accustomed and works fine. It also makes daily backups. Its advantage over other apps is that you may add whatever you wish to save, beside its default settings (which you may delete or cancel, of course, even if not recommended); it also has a friendly interface and easily customizable. Of course, this is a personal view, you may try other methods as well, or other backup apps. All are good if you are satisfied and correspond to your needs.

  • Whats the best way of sending files ?

whats the best way of sending files (mp3's) to another computer over the internet, been doing it over msn, but takes a while, is there any other way?

Have you thought of using an intermediary file server, e.g. yousendit.com, rapidshare.de, etc? Alternatively, you could do it the computer-to-computer route by enabling either 'Remote Login' or 'FTP Access' (Sharing preference pane) on one and connecting with the other.
As an aside, what you're doing isn't illegal, is it? Pardon my bluntness.

  • Best way to move files to external drive in LR 5. Drag and drop or export, if drag and drop

Best way to move files to external drive in LR 5. Drag and drop or export, if drag and drop can I put all the dated folders into one single folder

Drag and drop should do the job. Or move the files (or folders) in your operating system and then re-link via http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
Yes, you can put all the dated folders into a single folder (but if you plan to do this, then don't try move the files using your operating system and re-link)
Export most definitely isn't the solution.

  • What's the best way to transfer 11,000 photo's from my old mac to my new one?

What's the best way to transfer 11,000 photo's on iphoto to iphoto on my new mac.  I've just spent 24 hours importing them onlu for it to say there is not enough space available  - BUT I'VE JUST BOUGHT AN NEW UPGRADED MAC?

    Don't import them.
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

  • Best way to send files back and forth between PC and Mini

I know something similar like this has been asked a million times, but I couldn't quite find the answer I need. Basically I work on the PC and my new Mac Mini, and I want to be able to quickly share files between both of them. I know I could use a USB stick, but seeing both machines are sharing the same internet connection on the same router I was thinking there's a way to do it with that or wirelessly? migration assistant seems to just be about sending files to the mac and that's it.
    Thanks for any advice.

That would be a standard Windows issue, but for starters, take a look here:

  • Best way to implement tree like subcategory chooser in GUI on iphone

I need to let user choose subcategory, from a tree like structure, 3-4 level deep.
and the list is veeeery long. I was wondering what would be the best way to show it to user, and let him choose one.
    ideas ?

The right solution here is probably a set of UITableViewController subclasses inside a UINavigationController that your application presents modally. If the lists are long even within a level, sort and group them alphabetically and present an index list along the side, the way Contacts does. You should be able to do all this with just a few UITableViewDelegate/DataSource methods.

  • Best way to send files to another machine.

What I am wondering is this. I go to project manager and choose to backup to an external drive a trimmed version of the project to be opened on another computer.
My question is this. The first computer only had a a simple raid setup so media cache and previews were all on the same raid as the media files. The machine I am now going to finish the edit on has 2 raid setups on it. Media cache would rest on F and media and pre view files on the E drive. Do I need to make sure the imported project has the preview files on the E drive and any media cache as well? Even though I believe media cache does not get batched out with the trimmed project.
Any Ideas would be great. Thank you
    David

Just export without any cache, and when you open it on the new computer, make sure that the preferences and project settings are the way you want them before you do anything to the project.

  • Our ISP changed the way we access the internet. Since then, wireless devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod won't connect to the wireless and hold on to it. Devices get on, but then drop the network and can't get back on. Then it will appear, magically.

Our devices keep getting dropped off the wi-fi. The computer and lap top are fine, but the iPad, iPhone, and iPod all keep losing access to the network. We have tried:
Resetting the D-link, restoring Airport Extreme to its factory settings, resetting netowrk settings, powering down devices, turning wi-fi on and off. It has been pretty frustrating to say the least. This all started after our ISP changed our... I am not sure what it is called, but the thing stuck on the house outside to broadcast across the valley to the mountain where we get our internet.... Any other fixes?

I guess the issue is the Airport Extreme. We put back our old D-link and everyone is on. The Extreme did not live up to my hopes - (guest network, limit wi-fi for my children's devices to a certain time period...) And, it didn't last long - I think it is only a year old, if that. I have restored it to factory settings but to no avail.... perhaps it was a dud. Is anyone else actually able to limit access? I set it up but it quit working over and over and the kids were on whenever. Then we started losing all the devices in the last few weeks - laptop fine for wi-fi, iPad, iPod, iPhone all randomly kicked off and let back on.
This is a great idea - and it would be worth replacing if I knew my new on would work. Thanks for replying lllaass!

  • Synchronizing photo albums from iPhoto to iPhone/iPad

Next Monday I will receive the iMac in my signature and I'm planning how to set up everything.
In iTunes if I select as Photo source iPhoto what kind of albums can I see?
Lets imagine that structure in iPhoto
    Albums
    + Vacation
    + Maldives
    - December 2006
    - Junuary 2009
    + Red Sea
    - May 2007
    - July 2010
    + Birthday
    - Riccardo
    - Anna
With that structure in iTunes I will see (and Icould select to sync):
    - Vacation and Birthday (like with windows when you select form Images)
    - the last child so December 2006, Junuary 2009, May 2007, July 2010, Riccardo, Anna
    - Or the whole tree
    Many thanks in advance

You will be able to select those any of those individual albums as a whole, and all the photos within the album. However, you cannot choose individual photos inside of those albums. It will only allow you to do entire albums. As long as you're running iLife '08, you will have the option to sync events, and iLife '09 adds the option to sync Faces as well.
    Hope this answers your question.
    -Matt

  • Is there a way to rent a movie from iTunes to my Ipad and then view it on my TV ?

I've rented them for my iPad before, but can I view a movie on my HDTV?
    Thanks very much

    Yes.
Wirelessly with Airplay and with an Apple TV 2 connected to your HDTV with the Apple TV connected to the same wireless network as your iPad.

Most if not all email have "Attachments" listed in the email menu.  Just click on it & follow the onscreen instructions.  Very simple.

Unless these are very small photos or few in number they should use a sharing service, DropBox is good but there are many others.

  • Best way to transfer files from old Macbook Pro to new one?

I just got a new Macbook Pro from Apple...YEEEEAAAHHHH!
    So....
What's the best way to transfer files from old Macbook Pro to new one?  I know Migration assistant, but is there a recommended way?  I don't want to put do a system restore or transfer everything from the old laptop, but I do want to move important things like photos, music, documents and such over.  Any suggestions on best way to do this?
Another question, perhaps subquestion.  If I have, say, an older version of iPhoto but a newer version of one on my new Macbook Pro, will it still transfer photos no problem?
Just looking for hints from the experts so this puppy is set up in the best way possible.
