Best way to stop the screen from scratching?

Hi, under 2 months back I bought a 3G iPod. I love it to death, even more then the 4Gs. My only problem is, the screen keeps scratching! Are any good, cheap, screen protectors on the market?
I haven't ever abused it, it scratches with something in my pockets. It kinda annoys me.
Thanks,
-Patrick, eJoystick

Hi, you might want to check out some Websites like 3btech.net or monoprice.com
They might have some cheap film protection for your iPod screen. If you want to get something better to protect the iPod and the screen, you might want to check out iFrogz(tm) nanowrapz, which is a protective silicon case for your iPod Nano 3rd Generation and it includes a protection film for the screen, too. The price is about $12 or cheaper.

  • Is there a way to stop the screen from updating till the code is executed?

My extension needs to export all the layers to PNGs and it creates a lot of moving around in the screen while the operation is complete (eg: switching between layers, cropping the images, etc). I've set the Playback mode to Accelerated as well.
Is there a way to not update Photoshop UI during the process? (I have seen similar functionality in Microsoft Excel/VBA scripting)

As a shameless hack: put a layer on top, fill it with the color you like the most and that will prevent the document from revealing what's going on below.
It's a bit like hiding the dust under the carpet, there might be cases when you need to turn it off (e.g. merge on top) but for basic stuff it does the job.
Besides that, there's a undocumented "viewless document" or something like that, but you can do very limited processing - XBytor wrote something on ps-scripts.com years ago.

  • How to stop the screen from coming on in my pocket on my Samsung GS4

When I put my Samsung Galaxy S4 in my pocket or my wife puts hers in her purse the display keeps lighting up because the buttons are apparently getting pushed. This is running our batteries down when we aren't even using the phones. Is there a way to stop the screen from lighting?

Make sure that you don't press the home button or power button when you put the phone away. You can reduce the screen time out time down to 15 seconds thereby reducing the battery usage to that short time period. Also make sure that your phone sleeve is not pressing against those two wake up buttons.

You can lock your screen from rotating. Double-click the home button, then slide your finger to the right until your get to the iPod section. There you click the icon on the left and that will lock your screen. You can unlock it the same way.

  • Is there a way of stopping the battery from charging?

    Dear Apple Community,
Recently I installed iStat Menus and found that, over the course of this year, my Macbook's charging capacity has dropped 5%. I know this isn't a massive number, but battery performance has become a concern for me. I use my Macbook as a desktop replacement, on the main. It's sitting on a mStand, connected to a large monitor on my desk. I use my Macbook to play games, surf the internet, do work and all that good stuff - basically, I use it for everything. I rarely use the Macbook without it being plugged in. I read on the Apple website that they do not recommend leaving the Macbook on charge permanently and that I should use it on battery at least one a month. As I use my Macbook as a desktop replacement, I don't actually have a lot of opportunity to do this.
My question to you, the community, is: is there a way of stopping the battery from charging, either with the use of an app or a physical device? Ideally, I would love to have my power plugged in BUT only used when the battery drops below 10%. Is this possible with an app?
On the other hand, am I just worrying about nothing? Will my battery be damaged further if I leave the Macbook charging permanently?
    Thanks for your help!

Ideally, I would love to have my power plugged in BUT only used when the battery drops below 10%. Is this possible with an app?
The charging characteristics are handled in firmware.  There is no app that would be able to do this.  You actually would not want to do this anyway.  Regularly discharging your battery to 10% will greatly decrease the life of your battery.  While it is true that you should not use your system exclusively plugged in, allowing it to run on battery a few hours a week should be fine.  Letting the battery regularly run down to (or below) 10% will cause you to use up cycles more quickly than is necessary (thereby reducing the life of your battery).  It's really a only a matter of disconnecting your Magsafe connector once in a while.
Leaving it plugged in does not result in it being charged "permanently".  It will charge until it is full and then charging will stop.  It will only begin recharging when it reaches about 95%.

  • Is there a way to stop the OS from switching to a newly opened app?  I would like to be able to continue what I'm doing while I wait for an app to launch and not get interrupted by a forced entry into the app.

Is there a way to stop the OS from switching to a newly opened app?  I would like to be able to continue what I'm doing while I wait for an app to launch and not get interrupted by a forced entry into the app.
As an example, I'm going to my email in safari, while I wait for it to load, I open an excel document, and the OS decides excel should be the front app, so I go back to safari so I can enter my login info, but halfway through my password the OS decides that excel is where I should finish typing my password.
VERY ANNOYING.  Can I open apps in the background?

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. J D, I'm not a terminal fan, but I'm sure it works.  I found a solution that I can use in the dock from another post.

Works great and allows me to maximize those multitasking minutes.

Paragon even has non-destriuctive conversion utility if you do want to change drive.
Hard to imagine using 3TB that isn't NTFS. Mac uses GPT for default partition type as well as HFS+

  • Best Way to port the data from one DB to another DB using Biztalk

    Hi,
please suggest best way to move the data from one db to another DB using biztalk.
Currently I am doing like that, for each transaction(getting from different source tables) through receive port, and do some mapping (some custom logic for data mapping), then insert to target normalized tables(multiple tables) and back to update the status
of transaction in source table in sourceDB. It is processing one by one.
How/best we we can do it using  bulk transfer and update the status. Since it has more than 10000 transaction per call.
    Thanks,
    Vinoth

    Hi Vinoth,
For SQL Bulk inserts you can always use SQL Bulk Load
    adapter.
    http://www.biztalkgurus.com/biztalk_server/biztalk_blogs/b/biztalksyn/archive/2005/10/23/processing-a-large-flat-file-message-with-biztalk-and-the-sqlbulkinsert-adapter.aspx
However, even though a SQL Bulk Load adapter can efficiently insert a large amount of data into SQL you are still stuck with the issues of transmitting the
MessageBox database and the memory issues of dealing with really large messages.
I would personally suggest you to use SSIS, as you have mentioned that records have to be processed in specific time of day as opposed to when the
    records are available.
Please refer to this link to get more information about SSIS: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141026.aspx
If you have any more questions related to SSIS, please ask it in
    SSIS
forum and you will get specific support.

  • Is there a way to keep the screen from lighting up every time an email comes in, but still be able to see the email on the lock screen when you press the home button?

Is there a way to keep the screen from lighting up everytime an email comes in, but still be able to see the email on the lock screen when you press the home button?  This is killing my battery, but also is kinda the whole point of the notification center in my mind.

This is something I've been wondering. I am a bit like you, I like being able to have a glance at emails or Facebook updates without having to log in, and I think it would be great to be able to turn off the notification switching the screen on, especially for emails as I do get a lot, and Facebook, but I somehow doubt it is possible.
I am currently monitoring how much this eats up my battery charge. On a normal day, after an overnight charge, I would probably still have 30%-40% left when I leave work in the evening. Today, I was down to 48% by lunchtime, where I've usually got a good 60-70% left... Might have to turn email notifications off on lock screen until it's possible to have them appearing in the list without flashing me...

  • Any key to stop the screen from sliding

any key or application for IPAD, that may help to stop the screen from sliding?

What do you mean by "sliding"? Are you talking about changing orientation from portrait to landscape and vice versa?
If so, then yes. You can lock the screen using either a more permanent solution in Settings > General >Use Slide Switch to "Lock Orientation". This will allow you to flip the switch and lock the screen. if you use the switch as mute lime I do, then you can use the moe ad hoc method...
Double click the Home button to bring up the task bar. Slide it left to see the Audio controls and you will also see an Lock icon. Tap that to lock the screen in the current orientation. You can easily turn it off using the same procedure and still retain the mute functionality of the slide switch.

When I take pictures with my iPad, when the pictures save they always flip to the opposite side. Like a mirror image. I am wondering if there was anything I can do to fix this as it is extremely annoying!

Yes the calendar is gone. I guess it is the notification center I am referring to that comes down when I accidently swipe the top of the screen. Is there a way to stop of notification center from coming down if you swipe the screen? I figured out how to stop the control center from coming up if you swipe the bottom on the screen. Now I just need to figure out how to stop the top of the screen from doing the same thing

  • Is there a way to stop the brightness from going up when alarm goes off?

I have an iPhone 5s running iOS 7.0.6. I plug it in at night next to my bed and use it as an alarm clock. I am running the NiceClock app because it has a great black background with slim red clock numbers (doesn't throw a lot of glare). I am using the built-in Clock app that comes with the current iOS as the alarm (NiceClock, while great for a simple bedside clock with no glare, does not come with an alarm). I set my iPhone's brightness on the lowest possible setting to keep the backlight glare down. It's great. Low glare, and I can still see the time if I wake up in the middle of the night without having to fumble with the iPhone. My problem is when the alarm goes off the brightness level jumps up to maximum. Is there a way to prevent the brightness level of the iPhone from changing when the alarm goes off?

  • HT4890 How do I stop the screen from rotating, I am new to IPad

How do I stop my screen from rotating when I am using it

There are a few ways to get the screen to "enlarge", so it depends on what you are doing to make it happen.
For example, on a trackpad you can double-tap (not click) with two fingers to zoom in web pages.  Or you can slide two fingers in a spreading out fashion to zoom in.
Do you have any notion about what you are doing when the undesired enlarging occurs?
