Best way to work this
I am trying to popup a little selector box and I don't want to use javascript, if possible.
I created a small component panel with radio buttons that appears and disappears
as needed, and it works ok. but... I cannot figure out how to get that panel to respond to
events unless I hide all of the components underneath it.
It would work best if I could gray out the panel it appears over, as it has a different parent
panel. Panels don't seem to have a grayout option.
Any better suggestions for how to do this?
For web application there is 2 types of events that allow you to interact with an HTML page:
1- Javascript events
2- Form submit or link click
So I don't think you can fire other events

There is no supported method of downgrading iOS.
You have tried all steps in the article, including Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings? Try it again.

WORKAROUND FOUND ! Download and install "Awesome Camera" app and take a picture with that app. After 1-2 seconds of standby, it will work. Then you can go back to default Camera app which would work again.Please let me know

How about pasting RTF or Text Document???
I want to make book's layout in ID CS4 and its main feature is that there is the left page with text and the right - with graphics.
So, as I understand to place the text on each page I must create for example 70 Word documents and place each item on 70 left pages???
It loks like wasting time. I sthere another way of making such layout??? What kind????It's best to place any text.
You can have all of your text in one file and use auto-flow to add threaded text frames and pages as required (Hold down the Shift key when you click the loaded text cursor), but it's a little non-standard to have the thread only on one side of the spread from the auto-flow perspective, so you'll have to set up properly.
This is one case where a master text frame will work to your advantage. On your master page spread, add a text frame to the left page, but not to the right (or at least not threaded to one on the right -- for some other project you might actually want two independent text threads). Hold the loaded cursor over a frame on the left side of a document page and auto-flow. ID will add new spreads as necessary, but only put the text on the left side.

I have spent a lot of time saving, organizing and arranging photos (for the last 7 years) on my PC, and would like to know the best way to transfer these, AND MAINTAIN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE FOLDERS, to my new ipad (and later, my iphone). I have a really good system, and I do not want to have to do it all over again, on the ipad. I DO NOT want to subscribe to another monthly service fee (i.e. the iCloud) but DO have iTunes on my PC.
What is the simplest method to do this ? I have tried synching, but, each time have lost photos (on my ipad) OR have had NO ORGANIZATION AT ALL to the photos once synced. I have all these photos (5.6gb) in the My Pictures folder, then subdivided into years, then subdivided into events and months within the years. So, my transfer of the My Picures folder, completely transfers all of them, but with NO further organization. Again, I have spent years doing this, and don't want to have to re-invent the wheel.
Can someone advise (or even better, lead me to a youtube video) that accurately shows the best way to do this ?

And, wish Apple would explain "how it works" regarding the syncing methods on the Operating System. Please don't change that !Correct, it will only be one-level, the Photos app doesn't support sub-albums - the sub-folders photos will be included in the parent's album.
If you select My Pictures at the top of the Photos tab when syncing, then you should get an album for each folder that is directly under it - so if I understand correctly what you described then that would mean an album for 2013, one for 2012 etc. And each of those should include all the photos in the subfolders under it - so 2013 would include the photos from the events and months subfolders under it.
You can't sync them separately, only the contents of the last sync remains on the iPad, by not including a folder in the next photo sync you are effectively telling iTunes that you no longer want that folder/album on the iPad so it will be removed and be replaced by the contents of the new sync (you can't delete synced photos directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next sync).
The app that I use, Photo Manager Pro, allows you to select and copy a folder (via FTP), but you would need to select each subfolder individually, which if you have a lot would be time-consuming (I think that if you select '2013' it would ignore the folders beneath it). -
I need to move my library from my old computer to my new laptop (Windows 8). What's the best way to do this?
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

Best way to work with multiple photograph angles?
We are going to be taking 360 degree view photography shots of certain objects and placing these objects on to different backgrounds so the shots will look something like this:
We expect to have about 20 shots of each object and about 5-10 objects per photoshop file. So basically these will be single images all taken at different angles in which we will also be clipping off the background and placing them on transparent layers so that they can be overlayed onto different backgrounds.
I'm wondering what would be the best way to streamline this process. We need to be able to pick the correct shot at the right angle to fit the perspective of the background, once we do we will only be using that one image and all of the angles will not need to be used.'
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've considered creating folders for each object and a different layer under each folder for each angle/shot, however I think that may be a bit tidious to find the right angle. I've also considered creating some kind of an animation so I can scroll through the timeline and the images change in order as if the object was actually spinning in a 3D/360 view like this: http://3dbin.com/public/zummarva but im not sure if that will work or if it would make the photoshop file very big. Ideally I would also like to keep the photoshop files as small as possible.
I'm not sure if it is possible to use photoshops 3D plugin so the images can be rotated as if it were a 3D object?

What is the best way to work with AVCHD 720 24p footage in FCE4.1?
Hi I have a Panasonic HMC-150 and I've been shooting 720 24p footage at 21 mbps transfer rate.
I was wondering what is the best way to work with this material in FCE 4.1? I see that in the easy set up menu they only have the option of 1440X1080i at 50 or 60 fps or 1920X1080i at 50 or 60 fps.
Also in the rates drop down menu there is only 50 or 29.97.
So I was wondering which is the best choice for 720 24p footage and will it look alright in any of them? Also is it possible to customize these settings?
And finally can you work with faster transfer rates (21mbps) in FCE?Yikes, this is going to be tricky since FCE does not support native 24p editing.
The work around for some of us is that AVCHD material that is 24p is often recorded to disc at 60i using telecine, in which case it can be editing at 29.97 frames per second, and then detelecined afterward for final export at 23.98 fps. The problem is that I think your camera actually records real 24p - not 24p packed into 60i. When you import the material from the camera what does QuickTime report the framerate as? -

Ok just to recap (thanks for being patient by the way)...I have put some questions in here...feel free to write in caps to respond and we'll put this baby to rest!
1) I will work in a 1080p FCP sequence, correct?
2) HD 1080p footage captured as applepro res hq I will leave as is and work with?
3) HD 720p footage which was captured as applepro res hq. Can I just drop in 1080 timeline and let FCP do its work? Or should i run through compressor, if so what setting shall I submit it too?
4) I dont have a budget for an external hardware to convert SD to HD...should I capture my SD Beta through Final Cut and just leave and let FCP do its work? Or should I run through compressor? If so what setting shall I submit it too?
5) For for my master sequence in FCP am I not using an I-Frame format apple pro res if I am using my apple pro res hq 1080 footage as my formatted sequence? I am not sure what you mean by GOP?
6) I also found some 60p footage 1080p XDCAM compressor shot with the same XDCAM camera. I put in the 1080p 24p timeline but it was pretty choppy...any ideas of this conform?

Saying what CODECS you are working with was my question. 1080, 720, 4:3...really says nothing. There are a dozen 1080 codecs, another dozen 720 codecs, and nearly 100 4:3 formats.
Best to capture all the footage to one uniform codec.
Second best is to work with one format and let FCP conform the rest to that...IF and only IF that format is an I-Frame format like ProRes. GOP formats as master sequence formats cause TONS of issues.
What I'd do is work 1080 ProRes, just add the 720p footage (Use Compressor to convert it if you didn't have a lot, but if you had a lot, just add it), but I'd capture all the SD 4:3 footage via a Kona 3 or Matrox MXO2 as 1080 ProRes. Hardware conversion of SD to HD is much better than anything FCP can do. AE might do good as well. But then use Compressor to convert 29.97 footage captured (you can't convert 29.97 to 23.98 when you capture) to get to 23.98. -
I've replaced my 10.5.8 with another machine 10.6.8 which as we know doesn't support Apple Talk which has been used to print to 2 bulletproof older printers and an imagesetter. I wan't to keep using the printers and can use the 10.5.8 as a server. What is the best way to do this?

You could do this a number of ways. Using the LPD Daemon might work best for your location?
First: assign the machine you're going to use as the 10.5.8 'server' a fixed IP address.
Second: add desired printers to that machine using the usual methods.
Once added share them using the Print Sharing option in the Sharing Preferences Pane. On the 10.6.8 machine add the printer using the IP address of the 10.5.8 'server'.
System Preferences > Print & Fax and click the '+' icon. Click on the IP Icon and key in the IP address you previously assigned. Leave the Queue field alone and select the relevant PPD from the Print Using field (see below). You'll have to search for these yourself.
You don't have to 'install' the PPDs on the 10.6.8 machine as such. Simply copying them over from their location on the 10.5.8 machine (use a memory stick to do the transfer) to the same location on the 10.6.8 machine will be enough.
There should be no need to restart.

I have an analogue input which triggers a boolean light when it reaches a certain voltage. but at the same time i would like it to enable two other outputs one for a set period of time and the other stay on until another statement becomes true.
For example
case 1:
Set output high
Delay(2000ms)
Set output low
Case 2:
Set output high
If statement 2 is true
then set out put low
if not then repeat until statement is true

The code you posted will work, although note that the front panel becomes 'unresponsive' - as changes in the controls are only read once per iteration. The wait function is an example of an execution timing VI, however if we want to do software timing (like a 2 hour wait) - we should use software timing VIs.

Whats the best way to expose this in memory database? (ArrayList)

I was looking for advice on how I should implement this...currently I have the following ArrayList that stores ClassEntity objects. I'm going to write 2 classes that need to access this ClassEntity Object arrayList because they are goign to use these objects to spit out 2 different files.
I didn't want to make the database public and static though.
Here's a snippet of my current class that populates and creates the arrayList data structure:

NOW the question is: I need to insert the rows from the term 200490 and 200510 because there is data in the slrrasg table for those terms BUT the data that I need to insert is coming from the SGBSTDN table and there is not data for those terms in sgbstdn, so my user is telling my that it is okay to insert the previous term from sgbstdn for example: for the term 200490 I need to insert trhe 200490 in the szslife_slrrasg_term_code but I also need to insert the row from the 200390(previous one) from SGBSTDN.
The same for 200510 insert 200510 in szslife_slrrasg_term_code but the rows from the term 200410 in SGBSTDN.

Best way to work on timerange from FCP X project in motion?
Suppose there is a region within my FCP X that I want to add some touches (that may rely on the footage and sound i.e. tracking etc) in Motion.
As I cannot export a region from FCP X, just the whole time line, for long projects this seems quite inefficient. I don't want one massive motion project and bit may change in the edit and it is a nightmare to maintain.
What is the best way to do this now? Is there a workaround.You can save a lot of time by trying to do what you can in FCPX. You want to track something: easy. Apply your title, graphic, or other overlay as a connected clip. Select that clip and move the playhead to the beginning (type up arrow if you're after that start, down arrow if you're ahead of the start). In Video > Transform, set a keyframe on the Position (X and Y are keyframed simultaneously -- you only need to set that first keyframe -- any subsequent adjustments will automatically add new keyframes). Command - right arrow to advance 10 frames and reposition the clip, right in the canvas with the onscreen control. Repeat until you get to the last frame (the last frame is the right edge of the clip – 1 frame!). Playback (or frame advance with right arrow) and for any frame that needs adjustment, just drag that OSC to the new position. It will take you a lot less time than trying to get a Motion tracker going in Motion for a "remote" clip in the storyline.
If you're bound and determined to use Motion tracking:
Blade your clip.
go out to the projects pane and duplicate the project (right click on the project > duplicate project :: duplicate project only)
In the duplicate: delete all the clips before an after your target clip (magnetic timeline will move it to the beginning)
Export > Current Settings (should be some flavor of ProRes)
Do your work in Motion and Export out with same settings (go into the Render tab and set Render Quality to Best. No Fields, No Motion Blur, No Frame Blending (that way you'll get it back into FCPX the way you exported it.)
Import into an Event in FCPX. Select the clip from Motion in your Event Browser. Select the clip in your storyline and type Option R (to do a replace edit.) You can Move to Trash the duplicate project.

16:9 showing on widescreen monitor with bars
Hi - I shot on a Z1 in 16:9, I imported as DV PAL anamorphic. It shows fine in the viewer and is full screen on a widescreen monitor. But when I edit it onto a 16:9 sequence it appears with black bars top and bottom in the canvas and on the monitor.
