Best Website for Posting Pics

Hi, I've had numerous issues trying to upload pictures to the web with Kodak's Ofoto. Is there another site that allows for easier posting of pictures (or is recommended for Mac users)? Thanks.

I use Twango.com. It not only accepts photos but also videos. That's what I like about it, having both videos and pictures in the same posting. PictureSync is coming out with a plugin for iPhoto I'm told that will let us upload easily.
For a list of other possible sites see this page from PictureSync: http://holocore.com/?PictureSync_services
Happy Holidays
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Best practices for posting video to my iWeb site?

    What's the best way to upload movies to my site so that visitors can watch them while sacrificing the least amount of quality, size and speed?
    As an example, the iPhone commercials on the Apple webpage start playing instantly, look great and when Large is selected are the perfect size.
    But I made a 1.5 minute iSight video on iMovie and saved it as a streaming quicktime file and it takes about 10 minutes to fully load once it's on my site. And I have a 10 mpbs internet connection.
    I also just pulled up a large movie trailer on iTunes and it looks great and started playing instantly.
    Is there a better way for posting video? Perhaps in flash or another codec that would make more sense? Videos on youTube play instantly, although the quality isn't always great.
    thanks!
    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    There is no absolute correct way. One way is shown in this demo page. It lets the page load without having the movie load thus speeding up the page load a fair amount. The movie only has to load when the Play button is clicked on and then it opens in a separate window sized just for the movie. The code used is also shown on the page. This way can allow you to use a larger QT file and not affect the loading of the original page it's linked to.

  • Is Vimeo The Best Website For HD Movie Posting?

    I wanna post my movie in the best way possible and Vimeo now supports films hd in 1280x720 format and that is alot better than youtube of course and while I do want the film on my own website I'm told that I would have to pay alot if I get lots of hits while if I put it on this site I dont have to worry about it. Thanks for the tips.

    once it's fully loaded into QT I can do a Save As
    Then it's not a streaming video. Apple Keynotes for example, are streamed.
    Think of it in the same way as traditional television -the signal is sent to your set but not actually stored anywhere. I know you have a VCR, pretend for a moment that you don't.

  • Best approach for post-update (Oracle Forms equivalent) operations?

    Hi
    Having scanned all the available literature / blogs / forum posts I can find, I'm not sure of the correct way to proceed here, can anybody advise?
    I am planning to build a custom OAF page to update rows in a seeded Apps table.
    After any update via my page, I want to insert a message into a custom audit table, to record the event for reporting purposes. In Forms I would have used a POST-UPDATE trigger to do that, but there doesn't seem to be a direct equivalent in OAF.
    Here are the approaches I have considered
    1. Db trigger, or related approach. I don't want to do this on a seeded table.
    2. Create a pl/sql EO on the seeded table, use the pl/sql code to store the audit rows on update (this seems easiest to me ...).
    3. Use CallableStatement to create the rows in AM and call from CO (or EO?).
    4. Create java EOs for both the seeded table and the audit table, and implement the audit table update by manipulating the audit table EO.
    From all I have read, I believe #4 is the correct approach as pl/sql EOs are not recommended (except to leverage existing APIs), but it's not clear to me how to go about coding it, could somebody help me get started please?

    Gyan Darpan wrote:
    Step 1- create a Custom method in AM.
    Step 2 - Create a Eo & EOVO for the Audit table.
    Step 3- Get all the value from the page ..which u want to save inside the audit table.
    Step 4 - Once u get the value..set the same to the EOVO using setAttribute();
    Step 5 - Call this method before calling commit.
    Thanks Gyan, that's very helpful. I have a table with multiple updates, and I wasn't confident about how to identify the
    updated records to process them one by one, so after some more searching/experimentation I end up with this approach :
    1. Created an EO + EOVO for the Audit table (not sure VO actually required in this approach).
    2. Exposed the doDML method in the Seeded EO by clicking Data Manipulation Methods on the EO's 'Java' page.
    3. In the doDML method, I added code like this, which is called on every update : ( RequestsEO is the EO of the table being updated, MessagesEO is the audit table also being inserted into. )
           // Get New Message ID and instantiate a MessagesEO row.
           Number Id=Rtr.getSequenceValue("XX_MESSAGES_SEQ");
           NameValuePairs nvp = new NameValuePairs(new String[]{"LineId"},new Object[]{Id.toString()});
           MessagesEOImpl Msg = (MessagesEOImpl)getOADBTransaction().createEntityInstance("oracle.apps.xx.testaudit.server.MessagesEO",nvp);
           // Set various required fields in MessagesEO.
           Msg.setLineId(Id);
           Msg.setLineType("A");
           Msg.setSourceName("AUDITSREQ");
           Msg.setSourceId("1");
           // Build Audit message from fields in updated record.
           Number RequestId=getRequestId();
           String sRequestId=RequestId.toString();
           String sAttribute5=getAttribute5();
           Msg.setTextline("Updated Request ID [" +sRequestId + "] to [" +sAttribute5 + "].");
           // Update Request
           super.doDML(operation, e);
             I'm pretty happy with the result, but am I doing anything I "shouldn't" here?
    In particular, should I try to use VO and/or calling a method in the AM rather than coding direct in the EO?
    Thanks again

    If I am posting video on iWeb (HDV) what would the corret way to to that?
    export to QT or do a QT conversion and resize.
    when I do the QT movie - and post in iweb I get a message that says how the file exceeds the 10 mb ??? something or other.
    Do I need to set the file in QT conversion for strreaming media? or fast start?? I really don't have a clue if one is superior?

  • Best look for still pics in FCP?

    I find myself making a video composed entirely of still photos I shot for a client.
    The ones I compressed from jpeg in photo-jpeg look grainy and ugly. Others looked soft when using the standard compression for standard video.
    Can anyone out there give me advice on importing and compressing still photo files from Photoshop in a way that will yield sharply in a DVD?
    Many thanks!
    bq

    Bogie,
    not exactly a "wierd little camera"--Canon EOS mark ll 1ds...the formats i mentioned are what shows up in the save as menu. Originating format is CR2 (which in my mind is RAW(?)). So I was confused about what you meant by bringing it in RAW.
    *You must convert them to something, your choice but photo-jpeg is not a good choice, it is heavily compressed.*
    Considering the origination, any suggestions as to the compression I should be using with whatever the best format is?
    *I cannot tell if we're having a translation issue or you are just really new to this video stuff.*
    Prob'ly...I'm not that new, but I've been out of it a couple of years pretty much immersed in photography. FCP came back at least in parts pretty quickly though
    The advice from the forum has already be a great help. I don't consider myself a techie by no stretch
    so any help always appreciated....
    cheers,

  • Best practice for invoice posting inSRM

    Dear expert,
    what is the best practice for posting an invoice? Is it in SRM system or MM system? In SRM, the system allows one to use approval procedure for invoice posting; wheras in MM, one cannot use the apporval procedure to post an invoice. similar is the case, in SRM-SUS and MM-SUS scenario?
    I would appreciate if you can feedback on the industry practice.
    thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Ranjan,
    As a SAP customer we use invoice entry in ERP using MIRO and FB60 as these are the most efficient for our busines.
    1. Invoice entry using MIRO tcode is faster as it can be done with minimal use of the mouse.  Invoice entry is slower in SRM as browser response and interactions with the backed ERP system slows the systems reponse to the user input.  Repeated use of a mouse in the SRM browser is detrimental to fast input.
    2. Not all types of invoices can be handled in SRM e.g. Invoice without PO.
    3. We process approx 20,000 invoices per month with multiple input operators, SRM could not handle that sort of load.
    4. SRM is really a procurement application and although invoice entry is included it is probably more for users who wish to use SRM in a stand alone scenario.  We use extended classic so all our financial transactions take place in the ERP backend.
    Your choice also depends upon the number and quality of the invoices you plan to process, and the need for the operators to be trained on one or two systems.
    Hope these personal observations assist with your decision
    Regards
    Allen

  • Best Resoltion for the 7" Digital Photo Frame

    Hello,
    I have got a
    *Digital Photo Frame II, 7"W, 720 x 480, Sensor Touch, MP3 Player-Funktion PA3637K-1ETC*
    The Manual doesn't tell me about the best Resolution for the Pictures to put on.
    on the Web you can Find: 800 x 480 Pixel WVGA-Screen (720 x 480 Pixel sichtbarer Bereich)
    The samples are 726x 480 pixel.
    Now my Problem:
    When you put Pictures on it - *It cropps a bit on the right and left side and much more on the top and bottom.*
    I have tried a lot of sizes. Even on 720 x 480 it cropps.
    So my question is : What is the best Resolution for the PICs ?
    Best Regards
    Markus

    Sorry,
    check your calculator: 800:533 is NOT 1.562... Mine Says : 800:533 = 1.5009380863039399624765478424015
    That is less wrong than it cut's off.
    Try it: take a white pic with 800x533 and draw a black frame of 10 pixels on the border. you won't see it on all sides !
    That makes 20 pixels (10 on each side) of 533 cut off ... that is more than 0.0009380863039399624765478424015 error.

    O.k. Thanks for the clarification. I poked around in my TimeCapsule router's settings (TimeCapsule is an Apple Airport Extreme router with attached hard drive for wireless backup/storage). Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can disable multicasting with the TimeCapsule. I can change the multicasting 'rate'. Settings are Low, Medium, High. It's currently set to Low.
    I did a few web searches, and found an Apple.com article: <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789?viewlocale=en_US> which explained how to disable Bonjour Service Advertisements. I believe this is the same thing as 'Multicasting'. The process is a modification of "/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist", and a restart of the Mac is required afterwards.
    I'm a bit concerned that disabling multicasting will interfere with my AppleTVs and iTunes music sharing, but I may try it next time I'm up for a computer workout. This task will require editing of system preference files, could require multiple restarts, might interfere with my AppleTVs, could interfere with my iTunes file sharing, doesn't have a documented relationship to my problem.
    This is way to difficult for something that should just work. Did you say you had read something about a relationship between this bonjour multicasting and smb connectivity? If it was online could you post the link?
    I'm currently able to connect to the drive using NFS, but I have to manually configure that connection each time I reboot (can't get the 'Disk Utility' configured to do it automatically). While it's working with NFS, it's not my preferred connect method (for various reasons).
