Best wifi for iPad uk

Hi everyone,
I recently just bought an iPad air and have tried to connect it to my home BT Hub 5 wifi. It refuses to work.. I've been on the phone to Apple and BT support. I see from other posts that apparently lots of people have had this problem too. I've tried all the separating the 2.4 and 5 GHz signals, reseting settings etc etc..
I'm now considering switching who I get my broadband from.. can anyone recommend which is a stable broadband supplier for iPad and Macbook Pro?
I can't believe they charge so much money and the thing doesn't work!! Unbelievable..
Thanks
Andy

finally got to the bottom of it, the iPad can't handle the two wave bands going at the same time, so if you disable the 5GHz and leave the 2.4GHz one running, it works... Took hours on tech support to finally get it going!
hope this helps someone...

What router are you using? make/model/version
What security type are you using? If it is WEP then symbolic (non hex) keys may be converted to hex in different ways by different operating systems. Is your laptop a Windows PC?
If you are using WEP then drop it and move to WPA2. WEP has been deprecated by the WiFi alliance since 2004 as insecure (it can be hacked in seconds).

I just bought an HP Office Jet 8600 Pro 4-in-1 and it works perfectly.  It was on sale at Staples for $229.  I did have an HP eStation with the Zeen and it worked fine, just didn't have a feeder--flat bed only.

Whatst the best DAW for iPad please ????

Well, this is really not the correct forum for such a question.. as this forum is dedicated to the use of Logic Pro so... you might want to try posting in the iPad/iOS apps forum
    But.....
Personally I use either Garageband, Auria or Cubasis when I want to do some light work 'on the road....' on my iPad.. and what exactly I wish to achieve.
This might help and provide more info...

  • Best case for ipad mini and Logitech wireless keyboard that opens like a book?

What is a good case that holds both of these that opens like a book? In other words it is not a sleeve, it poems with ipad mini on one side and my Bluetooth keyboard on the other????

There's likely no "best case" for any device. What works great for some will be detested by others. I can only tell you what I personally use and how it works. My own personal iPads (my wife and my 8 year old son have their own iPads with differing case needs) are pretty much relegated to indoor use. My mini 2 uses the standard-issue Apple Smart Cover. The back is protected (mainly from scratching & dings) by a clear plastic (polycarbonate) shell (purchased at Best Buy, Rocketfish brand) that is Smart Cover compatible (has the proper cutout for the Smart Cover hinge to contact the device properly). This combination works very well for me personally because there are many times when I do not want the Smart Cover on the device, flopping around & in my way...it's easily pulled off of the device when I need it off while the back shell stays on. You can't do that with the Smart Case. This works well enough for me on the mini 2 so I'm adopting the same for my Air 2.

  • Best case for iPad mini 3

I bought the Logitech Hinge case at Apple but I think it is adding too much
weight.  Is there a cover that protects the iPad but is lighter in weight?

  • Why is it my network does not show up any longer on wifi for ipad? Have tried network reset still not tere  cannot go to internet

have tried network reset but my network is not showing cnnot access internet.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Enterpise Best Practices for iPad

Is anyone aware of any documentation idnetifying best practices for securely deploying iPads in an enterprise environment?

There is some information out there, though not as much as I think we are typically used to for enterprise environments. (It is a consumer device, and Apple is a consumer-driven company, and I don't fault them for that one bit.)
Here is some documentation from Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/enterprise/
Also, Jamf Software has some information regarding their Casper suite.
We don't use it yet at my workplace, but I have heard good things about them.

  • Mobile WIFI for ipad 2

Can someone please help me find out to get internet on my ipad2 when I will be out of town and the house does not have internet service?  Is there any type of aircard I can buy without a long term contract. I use At & T.

There are mobile hotspots that you can buy and you can purchase a data plan to use the hotspot with. I have the Verizon MIF2200 hotspot and it works quite well. My iPad is WiFi only as well and bought the iPad, the hotspot and the data plan all from Verizon. My plan is month to month but it will renew every month unless I cancel the plan - but I do not have a contract at all to worry about cancelling.
    Take a look for yourself.

  • Best case for ipad 2

I am looking for something to cover the front and the back? Is otterbox the best? Is there a case that fits the smart covers?

it depends what you are looking for. Either very robust in which case otter box could be a good choice, but if you want a case to prevent scratchs from the back while the smart cover covers the front you could get something like

There is no such thing for the iPad AFAIK.  You could, however, get a signal booster for your wireless router.

  • Portable wifi for ipad

Can you purchace a wifi card for the iPad 2?

I'm not sure what you mean. All iPads have WiFi built in. If you wish to connect to a cell network from a WiFi-only iPad, then you can use either a MiFi device as tonefox suggested or use a cellphone which supports Personal Hotspot (AKA "tethering").
If that's not what you mean, please post back and clarify.
    Regards.
