Best Wireless Mouse for iMac?

I like my Mighty Mouse, but I think its time to upgrade to a wireless mouse and I don't think the Mighty Mouse fits the bill.
I use iMovie and iPhoto a lot, and casual gamer (currently playing World of Goo - which is awesome BTW).
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Mahalo nui loa!

I did not get along well with Apple mice. I use Logitech mice--there are many different models available. In order to get full functionality with such mice, you need a program which provides the drivers beyond those that Apple provides. I use a program called 'Steer Mouse'. It works very well--no need to even install Logitech drivers.

  • Best wireless router for iMac G5 and MacPro?

    Hi
I am looking for a router to connect the following to a network:
    iMac G5 with Airport Extreme
    MacPro (Ethernet, wired connection)
The broadband connection speed is 8 Mb/s. I also want the option to add a (Windows) laptop to the network (wirelessly) at some point so I need Mac and Windows compatibility.
Can anyone recommend a suitable router. I hear the Netgear ones are good.
    Thanks
    Chris

Have you considered the new AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) as a choice?

  • My wireless mouse for my iMac keeps loosing connection. Started after I was having problems with computor not waking up and I put the the setting to "never". Anyone having same problem?

My wireless mouse for imac keeps loosing connection. Started after I was having truoble with computor not waking up and I put the setting to "never sleep". Any suggestions?

If it's an Apple mouse, make it "Favorite" in Bluetooth preferences.
If it's not, the same thing might help, too, but if the problem continues it could be a driver issue (possible incompatibility with your OS X version).

  • HT1153 I've just put new batteries into my wireless mouse for my iMac and now it'll barely stay connected to my computer. It'll just keep disconnecting then reconnecting for a few minutes then disconnect again. Anyone have any ideas?

I've just recently put in brand new batteries into my wireless Bluetooth mouse for iMac and it continuously disconnects itself and will then reconnect itself for only a few minutes, just to disconnect again. It's become impossible to use my computer as my mouse smoky won't connect itself for long enough to do anything. Anyone had this problem before and could help me out?

    HI:
It does not sound like a battery problem.
    Try a couple of things:
    1.          Reset the SMC
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    2.          Reset (if you can) the PRAM
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
If that does not help, delete the mouse in system preferences, turn it off, restart, and turn the mouse back on.

P.S.  I only needed it once, but I have an old USB mouse in case my Bluetooth one decides to quit.

  • What is the best wireless printer for the MacBook Pro?

what is the best wireless printer for a macbook pro?

I use an Epson NX430 (inkjet) which uses a wireless card: no issues. Also a Brother HL-3040 (laser) connected to modem by Ethernet cable: no issues. Depends on your printing needs and amount of work space available.

  • Wireless Mouse for iBook

Has anyone found a good wireless mouse for the iBook?
    Thanks

I presume you mean the 600 Mhz iBook G3 in your profile. That particular Mac did not come with built-in bluetooth, but numerous USB to Bluetooth adapters are available, including a few from the Apple Store. That and Apple's Wireless Mighty Mouse would be a good combination.
Careful with Logitech mice, as their driver software does not always keep up to date with operating system updates. You can usually overcome this with software called Steer Mouse or another called USB Overdrive when those get updated, which is usually more frequently.

What is the best wireless printers for the iPad?

YOu may also want to consider that some printer manufacturers have apps you can use to print, and there are third party printer apps you can also use. So really, in theory, any wireless printer will work with an iPad. If it's airprint enabled it'll work natively, if it's not air print then you use their app or a third party app, so you can potentially expand your search to find a good printer that meets any specs you have (speed, or quality or ink cost) and then work with it to make it print with your iPad.

  • Best mouse for Imac?

I'm really enjoying my Imac but am having trouble with the Mighty Mouse (corded mouse) that came with it. For some reason 25% of the time, the mouse responds as if I hit the secondary-right button. I'm sure it's just the way I am hitting it, but productivity is going down when this happens often enough. Is there another 3rd party mouse that someone can suggest? I love the style of this one and the scroll button, bit the primary and secondary buttons are driving me crazy.

Perhaps an explanation of how the MM works is in order and will help. I have to admit that the MM takes some getting used to and a bit of hand coordination. I got the hang of it quickly and have no issues with it. I think the MM is the best mouse for the iMac.
The exterior of the MM is touch sensitive. It can "feel' your fingers on the exterior and interprets what it senses to determine what it thinks you want to do. I rest my hand on the MM with thumb and ring finger in the area of the side buttons and index finger to the left of the scrollball and the middle finger to the right of the scrollball. The MM is configured in System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse/Mouse with the Primary click on the left (with my index finger) and the Secondary click on the right (with my middle finger.)
If you click with the index finger to the left of the scrollball, you get a Primary click, with or without the middle finger touching the MM. To get a Secondary click, click with the middle finger to the right of the scrollball, but the index finger must be lifted from the MM.
I use a rocking of my two fingers. When I Primary click my middle finger goes up. When I Secondary click my index finger goes up. (I never could master the side button squeeze, so I turned them off in System Prefs.)
So if you are getting a Secondary click when you are intending a Primary click, your index finger must be lifting off the MM in some way.

  • What is the best wireless router for my imac G4

i need a wireless router for my imac g4. Which one do you recommend? All all wireless routers capatible with macs?

As Donald mentions, the routers are all compatible with Macs, but the software CD that they include often has Windows specific software on them that is really just a front-end for configuring the router for use. It does nothing that you cannot do yourself manually by accessing the router through the IP address that gets you into the router settings.
If it sounds difficult, it certainly is not. Once you are in - and that is simple - the router's info is in a nice graphical interface that is simple to use.
I use a Netgear WGR614 for my mixed Mac-PC network at it works like a charm. I got it at Best Buy for $39.99.

  • HT2452 just got a replacement wireless keyboard for imac but comp doesn't recognize it and won't connect. can't type or use it. any suggestions?

Just got a relpacement wireless keyboard for my imac but the computer won't recognize it and b/c i can't use the keyboard (type) there's little troubleshooting i can do. how do i reconnect this? thanks!

You may need a wired keyboard to carry out some of these steps. It's a good idea to keep a cheap wired keyboard and mouse or trackball as backups for a desktop Mac anyway, because Bluetooth isn't completely reliable.
    Step 1
Follow the instructions in these support articles:
How to set up your Apple Wireless Keyboard
Apple Wireless Keyboard: Difficulty during pairing process
    Step 2
The keyboard should pair automatically when you reboot. You may have to press and hold the power button on the right side of an Apple keyboard until the LED starts flashing.
    Step 3
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 4
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Reboot.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
    See these support articles:
Bluetooth keyboard may not pair during Setup Assistant
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference
Bluetooth: Unreliable wireless performance may occur when USB 3.0 external devices are close
    Step 6
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Good Wireless Router for iMac

I just ordered my first Mac, an 20" iMac G5. Now I need a good wireless router for it. I looked at the Airport Extreme Base Station, but it sure is pricey. Any suggestions on some more reasonably priced wireless routers? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Clayton,
Although a bit pricey, the next router I buy will be the "AirPort Express Base Station with AirTunes". It is a full featured router that is certainly compatable with any other AirPort equiped Mac -- including WPA excryption. That router has the added Apple AirTunes feature that you will not find on any other router.
If you want to go the cheaper route (no pun intended) then I have had good luck setting up friends with several different models of both DLink and Linksys routers including my current DLink DI-624. I have had nothing but success connecting several Apple PowerBooks with old and new versions of AirPort cards to several different makes/models of these routers and can't say I have ever had difficulties.
One thing to watch when using WPA is that you choose exactly the same settings on both the Mac and the router such as "WPA-Personal" using "TKIP". Note that some routers such as Linksys may call the same settings "WPA-PSK" and preselect "AES" instead of "TKIP". As long as all of your protocols match and your network name and preshared key match then everything should work as expected.
Also, when choosing a model don't be fooled into paying for any of the "Xtreme", "Speedbooster", "SRX", "pre-n", or "MIMO" routers. Unless you have special needs the vast majority of home users simply need a basic 802.11g router.
The one last bit of advice I have is to NOT install the software that comes with home wireless routers (except for Apples'). Instead, simply use your web browser to connect to the routers IP address (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and then use the built-in web configuration to make all needed settings including the minimum: 1) changing default password, 2) turn off SSID broadcast, 3) set up wireless network name and WPA encryption, and 4) turn on NAT firewall.
    Best of luck,
    Tim

  • Logitech wireless Mouse, 24" iMac w/OS10.6.8. No work?

Bought a new (cheap) Logitech M325 wireless mouse. Would not work. Took it back to the store (Best Buy). It was demonstrated as working fine on the stores new display model iMac. However the sales person said I needed to activate it's use thru the Bluetooth function and showed me how. I got a brand new replacement mouse and  tried it. No luck. The Blue tooth would not "find" it. Online discussion with Logitech says I got bad advice in that the Bluetooth has nothing to do with it. Just plug it in and it should work. I tried all the troubleshooting ideas they had, such as new batterries and trying different USB ports, keeping the mouse close etc. Logitech says send it back to them and they will give me a new one. Already tried two new out of the box ones.  I am suspecting the claim that it works with OS10.6 may be unwarrented. Anyone got a clue as to what could be wrong?

I found this Logitech model of their website.
It says that ot works with OS X 10.5 and greater.
It is the old fashioned wireless Infared style model of wireless mice, not Bluetooth.
The Infared receiver plugs into a available USB port.
You need to plug the receiver into one of the main powered USB ports on the back of the iMac.
You can't plug the receiver into one of the keyboard USB ports as there won't be enough power to power the receiver.
Did you install the latest Logitech Control Center preferences software?
That may make a difference as to whether it works or not.

  • Recommened wireless router for IMAC

Just purchased an IMAC 21.5 computer and need a better wireless router for the IMAC and IPAD AIR. Used for surfing the net, email and wireless printing. What should I look at?

Mac friendly, ease of use, comes w/a user manual, good tech support (online & off) and read all the reviews of the routers you are interested in.

  • I am looking for best wireless earphones for my iPhone 5s

I am looking for best wireless earphones. I travel a lot and I need good sound quality earphones.

"Best" in something like headphones is very much a matter of personal preference. Much depends on the type of heaphones you're looking for and how much you're willing to spend. I am very, very fond of the Beats Studio HDs. I take public transportation and they block out most of the annoyances. They are also large and expensive. I can't use them for running.
www.ilounge.com used to do pretty good reviews of accessories for iOS devices. Or, try Amazon, tons of reviews there.

  • Best Wireless Router For British Telecom Connection...?

Can anybody recommend/advise on the best wireless router to suit an Apple Macbook?
    TIA

Again. Apple (for whatever reason) doesn't make country specific devices generally with a few expections. Your MacBook in the UK is like my MacBook in the US. Same with Time Capsule. It's the same everywhere. I just don't think (and I'm speculating which is sort of a no-no) they want to open a can of worms and have multiple configurations of a device that can be handled locally from your ISP. Your ISP provides the modem, you plug it in to Time Capsule and that's that. However if you bought a Apple Time Capsule in the UK I certainly couldn't use it with the modem built in. One I don't need a modem and two it's unlikely to work.
You're correct though I guess it would be nice to have an all in one solution but I doubt you'll get a Time Capsule to do it.
Good luck anyway!! If I hadn't just bought an Airport Extreme I would've gotten Time Capsule as well.
    Have a good one.
