Best wireless network configuration with my hardware

I have a rather large property and over the last year or so I have acquired the following hardware. Up until now I have been extending my network wirelessly to get through coverage. However with the recent addition of a Time Capsule and the addition of AT&T U-Verse, I decided it was time optimize my network configuration
The Hardware:
• 1 AT&T Residential Gateway (With WiFi)
• 1 Airport time Capsule
• 2 Airport Extreme 802.11n (Gigabit Ethernet)
• 1 Airport Extreme 802.11n (Fast Ethernet)
• 1 Airport Express 802.11n (used mostly for printers)
The Computers:
• Mac Pro 8 core 2.8Ghz
• Mac Mini Core Duo 1.83Ghz
• Macbook Air Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz
• Lenovo T60p (with 802.11n)
• Ipod Touch
The slowest system is the Mac Mini with it's 802.11g however it is close enough to the TC / Residential gateway to wire into the network. All the other systems need to take advantage of the Wifi and have the ability to use the 802.11n speed. I'm not too worried about the ipod touch...
So I know I am reaching a point of diminished returns by constantly extending my wireless connection. Now, would it be beneficial to set the TC as kind of my main Wif access point and use eithernet to connect my Airport Extremes to extend my network?
I have the built in 802.11g of my AT&T RG disabled right now. I could create a 2nd network to allow the connection of my mini and iPog touch. but for the most part i would prefer to leave it disabled.
One thing to take into consideration. Due to the nature of AT&T U-Verse and the connection from the AT&T RG and the TC/AP Extreme bust be in bridge mode giving DHCP control to the AT&T RG.

Ethernet as many routers as possible. Place secondary routers in bridge mode. Separate the N devices to a router (TC) from N+B/G devices should go to the secondary routers. Once done set wireless to create their own network. All N computers to N router ie TC and the remainder to which ever secondary router you prefer.

Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter - With any driver: "The device instance name is invalid"

Hello there,
I was trying to install various "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter" drivers, with versions ranging from 2007 to 2010, both from the manufacturer and specifically for this computer (a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile) and others from here:

All of them are for Windows Vista 32bit.
The computer had previous drivers installed and working, but also had a network problem. In the process of figuring out what was causing it, I tried to install newer drivers to see if that was the problem. It turns out the network problem was due to a different
thing that is now fixed (some dependencies of the WLAN Configuration service were turned off), but I'm still stuck installing the new drivers.
TL;DR:
However, every time I install new drivers, after install, Windows says that
"The device instance name is invalid", regardless of what drivers I install. I even tried to install drivers for different hardware in that slot just to see what it told me and IT STILL gave me the same error. I also tried to uninstall the
current driver, checking the box to delete the driver's software, running CCleaner and then deleting
"athr.sys" from the Windows/Drivers folder and
"oem8.inf" from Windows/Inf as those files were referenced in the driver's properties. The install still gives me the same error.
The fact that it gives me this error with any driver leads me to believe it's Windows' fault and not the driver's.
Note: I am translating from the original in Portuguese. "The device instance name is invalid" is the closest/correct translation and seems about right with the info I find online regarding the english version of Vista and how it refers to devices.

I also did SFC /SCANNOW a while ago and it found no errors. I then repeated it again after this problem and this time, SFC found errors BUT it couldn't repair all of them. Here is the CBS log:

EDIT2:
The last SFC /scannow scan repaired everything left to repair. The system restore option can't be used because the earliest one still has the (suposedly faulty) drivers installed.
This computer has a Win Vista serial number, but no CD and the second partition doesn't have any kind of backup. The second partition is empty though. So, as a last resort, if I really don't have a choice, I'll try to do an upgrade install to see if that fixes
it and if that still doesn't fix it I'll have to move everything in the users folder to the second partition and format the first which is a bummer :/
EDIT: Here is the setup.api.log that was inside C:\Windows\Inf and details the instalation process of all the drivers:

I'm still trying to read into that setup.api.log file.

So, can I assume that the only way to fix this error is to download an iso of Windows Vista, unninstall my service packs, upgrade install Vista, run Vistalizator to change the language to Portuguese and then install Service Pack 1 & 2?
EDIT: Alright, so I formatted the thing since the driver bug wouldn't give me a break. The details on that can be found searching for the same thread title either on tomshardware or vistaforums if anyone happens to find this looking for the same error.
I have a real knack for bumping heads with errors that nobody else gets that somehow turn into unfixable bugs. At least if someone else searches for this problem they'll know what to do.

Wireless Network Management with Multiple SSIDs in one Wireless Profile

Could anybody explain me about how Multiple SSIDs in one Wireless Network Name (Network Profile) ? Configuration will be pushed to Windows 7 Pro from Wins Server 2008 R2.
Objective: Multiple office locations will have different SSIDs and when the laptop user travels one location to another, he/she could connect to wireless networks at any offices without any configuration change but utilizing "Automatically use my Windows
logon name and password (and domain if any.)" setting in EAP MSCHAPv2 properties.
Network Name: Enterprise
SSIDS: SFO-WIFI, LAX-WIFI,CHI-WIFI,NYC-WIFI,
Network Type:Access Point
Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
Encryption Type: AES
Network Authentication Method: Microsoft:Protect EAP(PEAP)
My question is: (1) Will Windows try all the SSIDs in order to get connected to the Wireless Network at the office? (Let's say, user is in NYC, but will Windows try to find SFO-WIFI SSID first, wait until time out, retry?, and moves on to LAS-WIFI SSID,
wait until time out, retry?, and moves on to CHI-WIFI and finally tries NYC-WIFI SSID and found the SSID in the beacon from Access Point and authenticates through RADIUS?
(2) If the answer is YES, what is the waiting time/timeout setting for one SSID before moves on to another?
(3) If the answer is NO, what is the process to get user connected to NYC-WIFI SSID when he/she is in NYC office within the range of that SSID?

About the multiple office location have different SSIDs, does the location A has the signal used in
location D?
Please go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center
, and then click Manage wireless networks.
The windows will try to connect to these networks in the order listed.
Please check if the four SSID pushed by Windows Server 2008 is listed as mentioned above.
If the location A have the location D SSID and the location D SSID has higher priority, the Windows will connect to
location D SSID.
So about the question 1, the Windows will try the SSID in order.
About the question 2, I can’t find the accurate time that test one SSID and move to another. But based on my test, it is very fast.

I was able to install oracle linux OS on my laptop and I was able to use internet thru wired network, but I tried to config the wireless network and I could not find any docs or online source to config wireless network on OLE machines.Belwo is the source that i used for installing the linux, he gave only one scrrenshot for network configuration where I see wireless tab also,but nothing is working when i configure wirless

Wireless Network Sharing with Neighbor

If I'm sharing a wireless network with my neighbor, will AirPort Express Base Station work to enhance the wireless signal?

Just to clarify here.....
The Check "allow this network to be extended" in AirPort Utility > AirPort pane > Wireless tab that John Galt mentions is an adjustment that must be made to your neighbor's Apple AirPort router.
Then you would configure the AirPort Express to "extend a wireless network".
If the neighbor does not have an Apple router......then the Express will not help you. It's not compatible with products from other manufacturers for the purpose that you ask about.

I have my wireless network set up using a first gen airport extreme n base station.i now need to extend my network with my airport express g. Is this possible? To use my g airport express on a wireless n network?

It's possible if you configure both AirPorts to "Participate in a WDS network".
The upside to this is that you will have more wireless coverage.
But the downsides are considerable:
WDS operates only in "g" wireless mode, so you would lose all "n" wireless capability of the AirPort Extreme
The bandwidth will be cut in half on the entire network. In effect, you will have a "g" wireless network running at half speed
WDS is difficult for most users to configure. It 's easy to make a mistake and hard to recover without starting all over again on the setup
I am not recommending WDS, but if you want to try it, Apple's instructions are here:

I have a PC running XP and the wireless Router is connected directly with RJ45 cable into the Netgear DG834GT
I have a iMac G5 which has no problems getting onto the wireless network
I have a Airport Express unit where all my music is streamed into another room and that works fine, but my problem is I cannot get the xbox I have just purchased to work ie (xbox Live etc) which is attached with RJ45 cable direct to Airport Express.
I have installed lastest firmware for all devices, ie Airport Express, DG834GT
My Wireless Security settings have been set to WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi protected access pre shared key) I must admit I tried to set WEP security at first but had no Luck, so I don't know if I've done right thing
When I look at attached devices on router software it shows me correctly that there are 3 computers on network I can view IP address and MAC address
My Question is should the Xbox work ok with my setup?
Should the Xbox not get all network infomation automatic
Do I need to manual set the xbox with Network settings?
Or am I missing something, any help would be Great

802.1X wireless network problems with Intel Mac

To login to the wireless network at my school I have to use an 802.1X connection authenticating with TTLS, TLS, EAP-FAST and PEAP protocols.
This works intermitently. Some days my MacBook logs on quickly with no problems at all but most days it has a self assigned IP address and I can't use the internet. My friend also uses a MacBook, which acts in the same way. Some days she manages to get on, some days I can get on and some days we are both on together. The problem is really irritating!! We get no support from the techs as we are the only Mac people in the school. The rest of the staff have PCs. The techs are just trying to use this issue to justify why letting people lease Macs is a problem and stop other staff from leasing them in the future.

If you turn airport off, then turn on again, (from system prefs > network) does it change from "self-assigned IP Address" to "Authenticated via PEAP)?
the macs are more and more popular at our school, so its becoming more and more of an issue.

Looking for best wireless Network Adapter for my PowerMac G5

Before the local Mac Store upgraded me from Tiger To Leopard I was using a Hawking Technology HWUG1A Wireless Adapter. It was clunky and the software crashed me now and then. Now that I'm on 10.5 the Hawking Tech. software crashed me every time it tried to connect to the router. I uninstalled it using AppCleaner, then reinstalled the Hawking 'Leopard version' of the software/firmware, still crashing me.
There support says "it should work" which I could still pursue getting it to work correctly, but I want to move on since I've never been happy with the product and don't want to risk wasting to much time incase it is simply not going to work.
It seems I have some PCI(e) slots (whatever is in the PowerMac) available on this mac, can it take a wireless network card? That would be much better than a USB doogle. Anyway, I'm looking for a reliable solution for connecting my PowerMac G5 to my router without using cables. Can you please recommend a product if you know of one?

Disabled wireless network router with WD World Book

I have recently updated iTunes and now everytime I start it up it says Updating iTunes Library, then after approx 1 minute the wireless network adaptor on my pc is disabled. The only way to re-enable it is to shut down the pc then then restart it. I've tried updating the drivers on the WPN111 USB adaptor but it hasn't made any difference.
I'm using an external WD World book to store my music folders and I'm guessing it's something to do with this and iTunes?

Are you asking how to delete the network name and password? - you can use the Airport Utility to delete a password and not use security but you cannot delete a network name - you can only change it - but to remove the network name from showing up on the list of local networks in the area, you would have to turn off the wireless on the Express or Extreme which ever is the primary router

Add AE for air tunes to wireless network running with AE.

I am sorry if this is a duplicate.. I did search but it is hard to distill out the different set up issues.
Previously I had my imac hooked up via ethernet and used an AE to stream my tunes into the living room.
I got a lap top at work and needed to be able to use it wirelessly at the same time my daughter gave me an AE. so I hooked up the recent AE to my cable modem using an ethernet cable and created a network that both my iMac and my mac laptop use for internet access.
I forgot about the itunes as I had not been using it alot when the good weather came and I was outdoors so much, using the laptop So today, I try and turn on my itunes to stream into the living room and realize that AE had it's own network set up for streaming and that I needed to get the original AE to talk to the more recent AE, which is in the position of being my wirless hub. So I tried opening A set up utility to see if I can add the AE into the network. Not sure if this is the correct step but thought it was worth a try. But the utility software does not recognze there is this other AE out there.
What do I do to bring the original AE into the network?

Try the following:
Perform a "factory default" reset of the AX that will be used for iTunes.

To set up AirTunes on the AirPort Express Base Station (AX), either connect to the AX's wireless network or temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, use the AirPort Admin Utility to check these settings:
AirPort tab
o Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
o Wireless Mode: Join an Existing Wireless Network (Wireless Client)
o Wireless Network: <select the existing AX's wireless network>
Music tab
o Enable AirTunes on this base station (checked)
o Enable AirTunes over the Ethernet port (optional)
o iTunes Speaker Name: <whatever you wish>
o iTunes Speaker Password (optional)
In iTunes:
iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
o Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)
