Best Xtreme Config to avoid drop-outs with multiple gadgets?

Hello, I've purchased a brand new Xtreme to work with a Thomson SpeedTouch ADSL modem, 2 MacBooks (2yrs old), 2 iphones, ipod touch, 2xWiFi Radios and 4x Digital Phone handsets. The intention is to avoid IP lock-outs and signal drop-outs - does anyone have the best configuration to achieve this?  I've set it up and it appears to be working as I'm not suffering lock-outs ("!" over the WiFi signal) but it still drops-out?  Thanks in advance.

  • HT4436 What is the best way to set up business accounts with multiple ipads?

What is the best way to set up business accounts with multiple ipads?

Here are three different methods >
How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495
This article > iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
    suggests using contacts groups.
When syncing contacts, you can choose to sync all of your contacts or only selected groups.
You can select a group of contacts to which all new contacts created on your iOS device will be added.
You can set up groups in the Address Book application.
If you are all going to use the same iTunes apps library, turn off "Automatically sync new apps" in the apps tab just below the list of apps.  Then you won't get new apps on your device unless you select them.

  • Avoiding dropped frames with Matrox and HD Video

What is the best hard drive configuration to avoid dropped frames when using a Matrox MXo2 mini for HDMI outpjt to a high res monitor/tv? I am experiencing slow performance with the four drives in my Macpro 3,1  3Ghz 30GB Ram  Nividia Cuda card. I am after about 200-250 MBytes/sec transfer speeds. Can I do this with two identical disks in my Macpro and configuring them for Raid 0.  Or do I need to do it externally?  I have increased speed to about 120 MBytes/sec by using a Esata card and connecting into to a Lacie 2TB Big disk, configured for Raid 0 . I need to go a bit faster than this....especially if I want to use premier

Those are nice looking enclosures and in general I like OWC. I've been using their stuff since before the turn of the century.
But in this case, I don't think you'll get the speed you're looking for because they are using eSATA and muxing the data over a single cable. It's a flexible solution, but not a very fast one. To re-iterate, the two flaws I see are:
    1. SATA II disk speed, and
    2. a single eSATA cable
This could theoretically provide 300MB/sec, (they have a benchmark that is around 250) but don't look for it day-in, day-out. As the drives fill up and reality settle in I doubt you'll see the numbers you want. BUT...  maybe it'll provide enough.
    Instead, take a look here:
    SATA Enclosures - PC PitStop
Not quite as sassy looking, but I've had the first enclosure shown running with four spindles and a SFF-8470 multilane cable since 2006. And it still benches over 250MB/sec mostly loaded on the original drives.
Any of the enclosures on that page will support SATA III drives and they offer a variety of controllers. This isn't a big shop but they know what's up. Call them.  I know I can build a RAID with their stuff that will cost about the same as the OWC box and be seriously faster.
    Hope this helps

  • Audio glitches/drop outs with Guitarport/Gearbox

I'm using Guitarport with the Gearbox software. My speakers are plugged into the headphone jack of GP, and I'm using GP/Gearbox as my default audio. The problem is that whenever I do this, there are audio problems, such as glitches/skips/drop outs. However, when I plug the speakers straight into the computer's headphone jack, there are no problems. So is Gearbox using up too much PCU or whatever? There is supposedly a "Processor Performance" setting for the OSX, but it is not there. I'm using a MacBook pro.

Make shure you sample rates and buffer sizes match. Check AMS or Sound in pref.> after application launch, sometimes it will flip automatically. Master then Slave i think > you might need more usb power

  • Drop outs with incoming phone calls

My Broadband drops out when I get an incoming phone call. I've changed the filter (twice) but it hasn't resolved the issue. It seems to be OK with outgoing calls, and doesn't always drop with incoming calls - just about 90% of the time. Anyone got any ideas?

  • Why does my wi-fi keep dropping out with Lion ?

Why does my wi-fi keep dropping out since I purchased Lion?
Why does my wi-fi preference keep getting lost every time my computer goes into sleep mode?
Is there any way of killing the Lion and getting Snow Leopard back.

I use homeplug powerline adapters to create my home Lan. I've never had any problem with my ATV 2.
This isn't ideal either, I would rather have shielded CAT7 cables reach all the way to my modem.
Either way, wired solutions are more reliable and have a higher potential speed as wireless uses pulsed electromagnetic radiation as a means for transportation in stead of copper or fiber optic cables
The World Health Organization's IARC has recently classified radio frequency electromagnetic fields as possibly level 2 carcinogenic to humans, concluding:
"the evidence, while still accumulating, is strong enough to support a conclusion and the 2B classification. The conclusion means that there could be some risk, and therefore we need to keep a close watch for a link between cell phones and cancer risk."

  • Drop-outs with Airport streaming iTunes

    hello all and merry Christmas
I am streaming music to two Airport Express from a hard drive mounted to an Airport Extreme base station. I have the latest versions of firmware and iTunes. iTunes will randomly drop-out and it's driving me batty.
I know it's not a network related issue (ie .... interference from other networks or phones) as I can stream the Expresses using Airfoil without drop outs. The problem only occurs with iTunes 8 as it didn't occur in version 7. I've searched for comments and read as many threads on these boards as I could find but haven't found the solution.
I have based my entire music system on the basis of streaming as described above.
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
    Warren

I have recently installed 2 airport expresses, and use them with a wire router from Thomson (SpeedTouch). I have had a number of these drop-out problems, and discovered that there is a lot that can cause network interference. After checking a number of things these problems have now been significantly reduced:
    1. Make sure that multicasting is on on the wireless router. Since I don't have an Apple Airport base station, I needed to find the setting for this in my SpeedTouch setup, which was off by default.
    2. Set the network to operate on a channel not used by any nearby networks. I live in an apartment building where nearly everyone has a wireless network. Using the iStumbler app I could determine which channels other networks were using, and pick one that wasn't in use.
Of course, interference can also be caused by nearby power transformers, phones, etc. In my case my microwave cuts out my Airport Express, but that I can live with.
To test the reliability of the streaming to Airport Expresses, try the following:
    1. Find the Airport Express IP number in the Airport Utility
    2. Open up Terminal
    3. Type "ping <ip-address>"
    4. Let it run for a nice long time, then type cntl-C
    5. You will now see in the text in the terminal screen the % of data lost. If this is high then you need to continue troubleshooting your network.
Hope this helps somebody .. I have a frustrating time figuring it out for myself.

  • EDI 850 - Config to avoid Sending Item with Delv. Completed=ON

    Hi Guys
We are sending our PO and Schedulling Agreement (SA) through EDI (as 850) to our suppliers.  However, our SA are opened for a long time so they can grow a lot, meaning that we have multiple items with multiple Schedule Lines.  Sometimes, that exceeds 200 Sched Lines which is not following the ANSI 04010 standard.  Is there a way to config R/3 to tell it not to send Items where the Delivery Completed Flag is ON (at the Item DEtails level) since it is not relevant?  Also, how are you handling SA or PO with over 200 Schedule lines?
    Thanks again for your help!
    Eric L.

There is no config related to that becuase if your PO's deli complete indicator is on but someone change the qty thensystem will auto. remove the on indicator that's the reason system will trigger the chagnes for EDI.
to control the line more than 200 you have to use the user exit to stop generating morethan 200.......is the downstrem system can't support then you can't do anything.
generally new po's created for the line has more than 200

  • Audio pops/drop-outs with AU bandpass

  • Audio drop out with sharing

    imovie 4.01 g4 533
    when sharing movie for cd-r
in saved/shared file audio i great for first 10 minutes then drop out completely
    what am i doing wrong?

If you're using music purchased from iTunes, you'll need to import it into iMovie in a different manner. Put all the desired songs in a playlist in iTunes and Burn the Playlist to Disc. Use the option to Join CD Track and import this music back into iTunes. This new version will import and play more consistently.

  • Re: Home Sharing drop out with Apple TV2

I, too, am having a similar problem, but it seems to be slightly different from what most people here are experiencing. When I go to watch purchased content, my computer shows up but my it registers nothing in my library. Then, on my mac, I turn +Home Sharing+ off and then on again and everything shows up again for a while. However about five to ten minutes into watching the show, it stops and everything seems to have disappeared from the library again. Stop+start +Home Sharing+ again and it comes back.
    Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
I'm running iTunes 10.2.1, OS X 10.6.7 and the latest iOS on the ATV. My wireless network (which everything is on) is managed by an Airport Extreme.

Had the same issue this AM trying to stream tunes from iMac to TV2... dropped the connection about 3 songs in and kept skipping to the next song, would play it for about 45 seconds then skip to the next song. Very weird, but in searching the forum, I found a guy that said if you turn off the screen saver (set it to NEVER) and the sleep option (again, set it to NEVER) then all should be fine. So far so good... playing thru and has been for the past hour. Until an update comes out, this is the best fix for me...

  • ITunes Sharing Drops out with Xserve G5

    Hello All,
I have an Xserve G5 running 10.4.11, and clients running 10.4.9. We're running iTunes 7.5 everywhere. The server sits on a university network, but does dole out IP adresses for a subnet existing in a computer lab. So, I am using the server to do some iTunes sharing, which are listening assignments for a class. To my knowledge, this is the only way to share the same iTunes playlist with the university and my computer lab's networks.
Problem is, iTunes doesn't show up in Macs that are booted up after the Xserve has already launched iTunes. Any computer that was launched before the Xserve iTunes launched can quit and relaunch iTunes, always finding the share. But reboot the client, and the shared iTunes cannot be found.
Interestingly, say the Xserve iTunes is showing up fine everywhere. If, on a client, I open the local iTunes preferences and turn OFF sharing (both looking for share and sharing local with others) and then turn it back on again - the Xserve iTunes disappears from EVERY client.
Did I miss a setting somewhere? It's very buggy, and random. There may be other things that make the Xserve iTunes disappear, but this is the only method I've found to make it happen while I'm watching.
We have a few clients sharing iTunes on the university network, it is always rock solid. So there is something about the server that is making this happen. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I really appreciate all ideas.
    Thanks.

To add, just tried sharing iTunes with Network Beacon, to no avail. Then I get two iTunes shared, but both behave in the same way.

  • WRT54G Dropping Out With EZXS88W Switch Plugged In

Hey everyone.  The issue that I am having is that when I connect my Linksys EZXS88W switch into the WRT54G router, the router keeps crapping out on me.  What it does is that all of the lights go out on the router, then comes back on every minute or so.  What could cause this to happen?  The router works perfectly fine when the switch is unplugged from the router.  I also connecte the swtich to the router through the normal port, as well as using the uplink port, but alas, the same results occur.
Could there be a specific setting on the router that I need to configure so that the router communicates properly with the switch?  Also, the switch is brand new, right out of the box.  I figured it would have been just plugging it in, and away it goes.  Sadly, that is not the case.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

From what you described I assume it's the issue with your switch because if you don't connect the switch your router works fine...Your switch does not even have a reset button...
You can however power cycle the router and then the switch when you connect them both...
