Beswt choice for a desktop computer for 3D animation

So I'm looking for a computer capable of running Maya 2011 and zbrush 4, as well as various Adobe programs and other Autodesk programs. Right now, I'm looking at three computers on the Best Buy site here, but if none of them can get the job done, then I'll look elsewhere. I just want some feedback and maybe some links about what I should be looking at.
I'm just going to say right now I'm not looking at Macs. Anyway, these are the ones I'm looking at from best buy:
Gateway SX2801 : I'm seeing a lot of bad reviews, but none of them are really mentioning what I want to know in particular.
Asus Essentio CM1630-05
Asus Essentio CM1630-06
So does anyone have any suggestions/think any of these could be right for me?

The Gateway will not meet your needs - weak CPU and worse, integrated graphics.
The 1630-05 appears to have a very weak discrete graphics chipset, bordering on integrated graphics in capability. (I'm not as familiar with Radeon product positioning as NVidia GeForce product lines)
Actually the listing of up to "1024 MB Shared" for both of the CM1630s screams "integrated graphics".
For 3D animation of the type you are doing, you need a good discrete graphics card. At the very least, gaming-grade with dedicated memory on the order of a 1GB NVidia GTS450 or above. However you may need in this specific case the additional features provided by workstation class video chipsets such as NVidia's Quadro line and ATI/AMD's FireGL line.

My iPod has music and apps from my apple ID that I downloaded to my iPod via iCloud and some apps that I got free from the store, straight onto my iPod, but my laptop has some music on it aswell, separate from my other library. I want to put the music from my laptop into my iTunes library which I want to use on both computers. Is it possible to do this?

- You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

New desktop computer for gaming as well as normal stuff

I am looking for a new desktop computer that I could use for gaming--such as League of Legends and anything else I might find in the coming months/years, as well as eventually being able to hook up ps3 games eventually, but probably not right away. I am looking for suggestions on what specific systems to get and/or what specifications for a desktop i should be looking at. I am entirely new at this and could use help from every direction. Any help is appreciated

The biggest things you need to look for are CPU(for gaming and your budget look for Core i7's or AMD x6's), RAM - most gaming computers come with 6-8GB now, and a discrete video card. I am partial to nVidia chips, but an ATI card will work just the same.
As for brand, I prefer ASUS for gaming machines as they do have a gaming line.
Are you going to be looking for a package, monitor, tower, etc? Or do you already have a monitor?

Just at a quick glance, this is a decent system to kinda base what you're looking for off of. The CPU is decent, good amount of RAM. The graphics could be a bit stronger, though you could always upgrade that.

How can I buy individual tunes for my desktop computer?

I have an Apple itunes account but no iPhone, iPad, or iPod. All I want to do is purchase individual tunes for e.g. $1.29 that I can download to my Windows PC. Logged on to the store,I can manage to find some tunes that I want, but I can't seem to find a Buy button.

Yes, I know. My problem is that the tunes I'm able to list have a button I can click to hear them, but no Buy button! For example, one tune I want is Little Deuce Coupe. I can manage to list it along with other tunes by the Beach Boys when one of their albums comes up, but on that screen the only choice appears to be to buy the whole album for about $10. Once I did find a list of about 20 different renditions of that one tune that I think had Buy buttons by them but some error message or something prevented me from proceeding. I have actually bought tunes before from the iTunes store, but I can't seem to remember how I did it...

Solution for: Presario Desktop Computer not automatically going to standby unattended

I would like to offer a solution to a standby problem. I have a Compaq Presario SR2041X with MCE2005. It did not go into standby automatically even when I tried setting the minutes in Control Panel, Power Options.
I tested several combinations and finally found three that do work: First, set "Turn off Monitor after 20 minutes", "Turn off Hard Drive after 30 minutes".
Now I can choose to have it go to "System Standby" in any of these: 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, or 30 minutes. NO other settings I have tried so far will work for me. I hope this information helps someone in case they have problems with this. LOL (lots of luck)

9360, Outlook 2011 for Mac, Desktop Mgr for Mac - Can't sync calendar

Hello,
I just upgraded to a Curve 9360. I would like to sync my BB calendar to Outlook, which I have not previously used (I'm changing from PC with Novell Groupwise to Mac).
Sync Services says my device is not compatible and therefore cannot be sync'd.
Is there specific software that is compatible?
I've also tried Google Sync, but it doesn't add existing calendar items to Google Calendar. It will only sync items added after Google Sync was installed.
And I've also tried iCal but it appears that Apple has blocked every device but their own.
Help would be much appreciated.

Can I use the education discount to purchase a computer for my husband who is in school?

I'd like to buy a computer for my husband who is in college. When I purchased my computer I used the education discount because I was in college at that time. I am wondering if I can use the education discount for purchasing a computer for him. I noticed that on the terms you need to agree to in order to use it you have to either be the student, faculty, or a parent. I was wondering if spouse counted.

You need a valid .edu email address, IIRC.
Since he is the student, he can make the purchase and get the discount.
Won't work real well if you're planning on gifting the Mac.

Airport Express not working for MacBook Air, ok for iMac

I connect to the internet via wireless broadband; the ethernet cable from the broadband antenna plugs into my Airport Express router. I run both my 27" iMac desktop and my 13" Mac Book Air off the Airport Express router. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed with my internet provider's settings.
Since Friday, the MacBook Air internet connection barely works; if a page loads, it takes forever (and I have a very fast broadband connection.) Checking the same connection on the iMac has no delay and loads instantly. On the laptop, if the page does load, and I click a link on that page, the link takes me to a new page requesting me to log in to my internet provider, or just fails to load. I get lots of "page failed to load; interneet connection was reset....".
I have checked network settings on both machines and they appear to be just fine. I have run diagnostics and it shows everything working fine.
I ran Disk Utility (permissions repair and verify disk) and have no problems.
I have tried restarting the laptop several times.
Software is up to date.
I don't think it's the internet server or the connection since it's working on the desktop Mac.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or things to try; I read about doing soft and hard resets but am reluctant to try that since Airport is working for the desktop computer just fine.

I have a MacBook Pro Retina display: 15.4-inch late 2015 with OS X Mavericks install, only on second week.
Insight works on FaceTime, Skype, but yahoo program does not show insight cam in dropped down.
Now when I got my new MacBook Pro, I down loaded all new Skype (worked tested), FaceTime (Worked Tested), Yahoo (not worked)
Fix:
With the new Maverick you have to use there messager program Version 8.0 (4218). Once I add my yahoo account video works again.
It also supported AOL, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber.

On my desktop computer, comcast requested that due to a problem, I needed to change my comcast PASSWORD. I did so and everything was fine. That evening I was working on my iPad and was reading all my emails that I had received during the day and tried to respond. It came back and told me the username or password was not correct. I immediately went to SETTINGS on my iPad and changed the mail password. I have been working on this for two days and cannot SEND emails. Otherwise, everything works perfect. Everything I try to send gets put in my DRAFT file with a red triangle in the corner. HELP???????

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.
