The is not a hardware problem , but a software problem with FF...Any help would be appreciated as I hate using IE 8 for anything at all :( but I have to keep it on my machines just to run my remote security cameras at my Computer shop ???

    All the best, Brett :)

The longer this thread continues, the more ancillary comments you throw in that aren't directly pertinent to your problem with your DVR software not working with Firefox 4.0. Sorry, I don't intend to continue with this discussion.
I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.

    Hello,
Often, the Firefox app will close, but the underlying Windows process will not and cannot be stopped via Task Manager. When this happens, Firefox can no longer be used...the system must be rebooted. This happens especially when many apps are running but even though there are plenty of memory resources available.
I have tried to find if something is using Firefox in the background, but have no way to know what that would be.
Their are no apparent viruses detected.
Firefox is version v5.0 and occurred in earlier release.
    System is Windows 7 (64bit).

well, it's not the same hardware and it's a bit different.
I managed to pass that stage somehow but I still have a problem
I don't use the built-in creator tool that comes with Spyrus as it doesn't know how to append a pre-staged media that was created by SCCM that should apply the Windows file system to a second partition and the WinPE to the first partition.
I managed to do everything. my only problem is that the WTGCreator that comes with SCCM 2012 R2 creates the 350MB partition with FAT32 file system.
when I boot from the device I get the WinPE, I can choose a task sequence and then it fails when trying to apply the wim file. the error tells me that the 350MB partition is FAT32 which is not supported (even though it chooses the second partition, which
is all the rest of the disk space)
what I did was adding another task that converts the 32 Fat partition to an NTFS partition and then the process continues and finishes successfully! but that's a workaround.
I'm trying to make this process as smooth as possible without having additional steps

  • I use an iMac 10.6.8 with iPhoto '09 to download digital images from Canon DSLRs. Until the last two weeks there has been no trouble whatever importing images by  a USB connection from either camera to the Mac. Now the process will not kick in. Any ideas?

I use an Mac OSX 10.6.8 with iPhoto 09 to download digital images from two Canon DSLRs. Until the last week, there has been no problem whatever in launching the import procedure once the USB connection has been connected and the camera switched on. Now the process will not kick in at all for either camera.  I can't find a solution through iPhoto help or from other sources.
Any ideas to fix?  (I admit I have not tested the USB cable at this time).

    What does "kick in" mean?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Roboformtaskbaricon process will not close after firefox 9 is shut down

    Hello,
The roboformtaskbaricon.exe (v754) process will not close after firefox 901 is shut down. Although I could be wrong, my guess is that firefox is pushing this process out of firefox, forcing it to run on its own. If it's a roboform issue, then I will contact them.
    Thank you, bheart

On the page below, scroll down to "RoboForm Controls", then scroll down to '''''4. Taskbar Icon''''' under that heading. It sounds as though this may be the item to which you are referring. From the name of the file '''''roboform<u>taskbaricon</u>.exe''''', it implies the Windows Task Bar rather than the Firefox toolbar.

For clarification of '''''roboformtaskbaricon.exe''''', its function and whether it should shut down when exiting Firefox, contact Roboform Online Support and leave full details of your question:

  • This process will not run on a client version of lookout?

I get the following error message when I try to upload my process for web
access: "This process will not run on a client version of lookout?"
    Why am I getting this?
    Regards,
    Tommy Scharmann

    Hello Tommy,
You're probably trying to upload a process which has a Driver object in it
(like Modbus, AB, etc.) As you are aware, Lookout Clients (and Web CLients)
do not have Driver Objects and that's the reason you're getting the message.
You will normally upload your Client process -- a process which doesn't have
driver objects but talks to a Server Process in turn.
    Regards,
    Khalid

  • Since my IPOD Touch upgraded to IOS 8.1.2 it will not play well with my 2013 Charger's UConnect entertainment system. It will not build a library so I can not Browse or Shuffle. The only thing Is there a fix for UConnect issue?

Since my IPOD Touch upgraded to IOS 8.1.2 it will not play well with my 2013 Charger's UConnect entertainment system. It will not build a library so I can not Browse or Shuffle. The only thing it does is list all the songs alphabetically when connected via USB.

    - Contact the manufacturer/go to their support site.
    - Sometimes this works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Sometimes and ISO update breaks compatibioity and a firmware update the the dock is required or an iOS update is required.
Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.

  • I upgraded from 3.6.13 to Beta 4.0 and now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing.

I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

  • Lookout 5.1 Process Will Not Load

I have a Lookout 5.1 process that occasionally has problems loading.  When loading it will go to the "Please Wait" message, and will hang there almost indefinitely.  On occasion, the process will eventually load, but sometimes can take up to a couple hours to load.  The process is not that large, although the Citadel DB is probably close to 8GB in size.  The L4P file is only 761kb and the LKS file is 302kb.  Neither file seems to load any better then the other.

Could you upload the process file to ftp://ftp.ni.com/incoming? I will test it on my computer.

  • Firefox process will not terminate on exit

After closing the Firefox browser, the firefox.exe process continues to run and must be closed via Task Manager before Firefox can be restarted or any other application initiated. The process will continue to run for more than a half hour, consuming 100% of CPU cycles and 250 to 450MB RAM without ever terminating on its own. (I didn't have the patience to see if it would continue to eat CPU cycles for a hour or longer.) This problem has persisted for YEARS, through successive updates. I have read all the proposed solution procedures in Support and in Mozillazine, but none of them work since none addresses the cause. I am presently running Firefox 26.0 but wanted to fix this problem before upgrading again.
I have two profiles, "fat" and "slim"; their primary difference is that "slim" has NO bookmarks or sites history. I removed all plugins (disabled and uninstalled); then I disabled all extensions (listed below). Then I enabled the extensions one at a time, restarting Firefox "slim" profile after each; Task Manager verified that the firefox process was NOT still running and the browser restarted without problem. The "slim" profile with all extensions enabled closes and restarts without problems.
I followed the same procedure for the "fat" profile. However, even with all plugins removed and all extensions disabled, the firefox.exe process invoked by the "fat" profile would not terminate on exit and would prevent Firefox from restarting until the process had been killed in Task Manager. Then I removed from the "fat" profile five large sqlite database and other files:
    bookmarks.html 23,945 KB
    places.sqlite 26,896 KB
    session.rdf 10,585 KB
    session-1.rdf 3,152 KB
    urlclassifier.sqlite 44,684 KB
Of course, Firefox recreates these, but the new versions are empty with minimal size. Now the "fat" profile with all extensions enabled exited as expected and the process terminated by itself. But when I replaced the original, large files back into the "fat" profile, the problem returned: the process would not terminate, consumed 100% of CPU cycles, held 1/2GB of RAM, and would not restart or allow another program to start.
So, if you have verified your extensions and plugins, but experience this behavior, check especially your bookmarks.html, places.sqlite, and urlclassifier.splite files. The larger these files are, the longer Firefox will take to close down in an orderly manner. Closing Firefox, and then opening Task Manager to kill the firefox.exe process is a STUPID procedure to force onto users because bad code gets caught thrashing or lost in the profile's large files.
Now my questions: (1) Is Mozilla working on this problem--Firefox choking the CPU while it's stuck interminably "processing" the large profile files? (2) Are the only current practical solutions to erase or not even to accumulate such histories?

This has been going on for a long time. As fine as the Mozilla team is, they don't seem to be fixing it for one reason or another. I'm on v30 and it still persists.
I've decided to stop waiting for them and do something about it myself. I've built a small executable stub that first kills any stale Firefox instances, and then starts up a clean one.

  • Firefox will not start and Firefox.exe process will not end!

    Good evening,
I am typing this on Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome seems to refuse to install. I have been experiencing considerable trouble with launching FF. Whenever I double-click the icon, FF does not launch. There are no error mesages, the cursor just turns to an hourglass and then back to the pointer. When I open the task manager, there is always one Firefox.exe process open that will not close no matter how many times I press the "End Process" button. This is maddening. Can I do anything to get FF up and running again? I have restarted my computer countless times. I ran a scan with Norton Antivirus and whatever it detected obviously wasn't what is causing this issue. Please try and assist me, this is outrageous.
    Thank you,
