Hi crhudetz,
There's no other step you should need to take. The TouchPad built-in apps should auto-recognize them. However, the TouchPad does use an index for files on USB drive and if you transfered a ton of files, it can take a few minutes for the TouchPad to "catch up" and index them all. If it's been a while since you transfered, try simply restarting your TouchPad:
Open Device Info
Tap Reset Options
Tap Restart

I'm a master's student at a Canadian university -- and in my spare time, for about a year now, I have been developing a web-based MMO for Java.
It's been a fairly rewarding -- and difficult -- experience, I just noticed that Sun had a topic dedicated to Java game development so I thought I might see what the community is like.
I'm also currently in the process of trying to hunt down beta testers for my game, so if anyone is interested, help is greatly appreciated.

ArchStats: Beta testers wanted

Hi All,
Ok, I've got the initial release of 'ArchStats' complete and ready for testing. The ArchStats project was proposed here http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=1463 a few weeks back.
I'm looking for people willing to help test it out by downloading the client program and following the instructions for configuring it and running it. You will need to have the python scripting language installed on your local system for the client program.

It never chages so I think I am DL'ing it properly. I have tried right clicking on the link and doing a save as and also opening the page and saving the page, but still same md5sum. Maybe I am just slow and did something wrong.
No, that was the correct md5, it was just the bug causing problems.
However, you pointed out that the ArchStats project page needs to list the valid 'archstats' clients and their respective md5sums so that you can compare after downloading. I've added that to the project page.
Thanks for helping me out with testing! Try downloading the updated archstats client and give it another whirl. You'll need to do the '-i' switch again to make sure it knows where to find pacman.

ANN: Upgrade Lorem and More for Dreamweaver CS5

My Lorem and More extension, which inserts Lorem ipsum and other filler text into Dreamweaver pages, can cause Dreamweaver CS5 to crash in certain circumstances.
I have updated the extension to make it compatible with CS5. If you use Lorem and More, please download the updated version (1.3.0) from http://foundationphp.com/tools/index.php.
It's a free extension, and the new version is backwards compatible with all versions of Dreamweaver (apart from really ancient ones).

Works intermittently in:
DW CS5.5. (Version 11.5 Build 5344. Windows 7. Lorem and More 1.3.0.)
DW CS4 (Version 10.0 Build 4117. Windows XP Pro. Lorem and More 1.3.0.)

It works fine IF:
I open a file, go immediately to Insert | Lorem & More | choose any combination of Type, Format and Amount and click OK;
I open a file, click anywhere in the file or move the cursor with the keyboard arrow keys and then choose Insert | Lorem.... (etc)
BUT, if I type any keyboard character, number, Enter, Space or Backspace, then Lorem & More will NOT work.
If I then close the file, reopen it and try Lorem & More again without first typing anything in the file, it will work.
EDIT: just discovered that it will work again if I give the focus to something outside of the Document window (for example, click on a file or folder name in the Files panel, launch Help, click in the CSS Styles panel or Properties panel), then repeat the Insert | Lorem... steps. Also, it works if I click on something outside the Document window, then click again in the Document window. So:
Type anything in the document
Insert | Lorem....
= FAIL
Type anything in the document
Click somewhere else in Dreamweaver to remove the focus from the Document window
Insert | Lorem...
= WIN
Type anything in the document
Click somewhere else in Dreamweaver to remove the focus from the Document window
Click back in the Document window where you want to insert the lorem ipsum
Insert | Lorem...
= WIN

How abut you perfect it for PC / Firefox first? I just updated to Firefox 9.0.1 and click to call is broken. I cannot find any reference for it in Tools.

ZENWSBrowser 4.3 - Beta testers wanted

I just finished version 4.3 of the ZENWSBrowser and looking for some volunteers to test the new functions.

- fixed context issue for search, when tree is not clients primary tree

Resolution of 1024x768 and more for your netbook!

I saw many posts on this forum asking if people could use 1024x768 as many games require it, and programs too.
Searching the net, I found a program that let you use every resolution you want (many options avaliable)
It's called AsTray.
PS: The graphics aren't perfect in the 1024x768, but it's the best you can find (I guess)

Quarter, halfyear and more for Fiscal period

Hi experts,
i have a query requirement to create the quarter and halfyear of the fiscal period.
The problem is that our fiscal period does not correspond to the natural year, starting in october.
I tried to use the standard 0CALQUART1 and 0HALFYEAR1 and doing a map from 0FISCPER in update rules, but as expected, the result was that 010.2005 = 4.
I need to get a 010.2005 = 1, and if possible to get the year also... but this is another problem.
Is there any standard rule to get it?

Need ideas. I'm lookin to buy a new laptop soon. Next couple months. I want something that runs good, runs fast, doesn't have a lot of junk installed on it and something below $700 dollars (may pay more...just depends). Any brands that are good? I thought maybe getting a netbook because I really just need some small storage and an awesome internet. Would a netbook be good for that? I use verizon wireless on my laptop right now but I'm going to switch to AT&T soon.

In todays world of Net Books, 250 GB and 2 gb configurations are becoming standard. However, a majority of the Net Books out there still have the standard 1gb and 160gb hard drive configurations. You can upgrade the hard drives and memory in the newer Acer Netbooks now because of the redesign the did to the casing. The 8.9 inch net books Acer came out with could not allow the hardware upgrades because of their initial proprietary casing design. But with hacking and warranty voiding someone did it.
The bare minimum price you can expect to pay for a Net Book is $299 on average for the majority specs I posted. For better specs you will pay more for them.
Please always buy an optical drive with a Netbook or purchase a $399 laptop in the end for better flexibility.

Premiere Shortcut Keyboard - Beta Testers Required

Hey Guys,
It's Mark from Editors Keys. (We're the company which produces the colour coded shortcut keyboards for Adobe Premiere.)
We're currently working on our new shortcut keyboard for Adobe Premiere CC and we would love to get the opinion from some of you Premiere Experts.
Ideally we're looking for 10 Beta testers who can check through for any mistakes or improvements you'd like to see in the final release.
We really want you to be as critical as possible. For example are the colours nice, icons need changing or for the PC keyboard what improvements or extra features would you like to see?

EMU 0202 USB ASIO more and more crackle until complete drop out after approx. 5 mins

Hi!
The subject already pretty much wraps up my issue. I have an EMU USB 0202 which I am using in ASIO mode. Indepedently of the software that is used to playback something (e.g. Fruity Loops, Ableton Live, or Virtual DJ), I get crackles in the sound after approx 5 minutes (give or take a minute). If I leave things running like this, the sound quality degrades more and more for approx another minute, up to complete silence.
Interesting fact: This can be fixed, by simply having the software "close/release" the device. E.g. by switching to Direct Sound and back to ASIO. Pretty much everyting, that causes the software to reinitialize the ASIO driver, will fix this - for the next 5 minutes.
I have probably already tried whatever piece of advice I could find. I have checked my system settings, incl. the stuff that one of the moderators listed here in the board (http://forums.creative.com/t5/Profes...USB-and-0202-U...).
I have used the DPL Latency checker tool. I don't see any sparks here. The only thing I noticed is, that as sound degrades, the latency slowly rises. But we are talking of "peaks" of 500µs when the sound starts to degrade.
I also used this PCI Latency Checker tool, but everything is set to either 0 or 64 - from what I've read, PCI latency could only be a problem if I were to see values like e.g. 128 or even max of 255.
I don't see any load peaks on the system either - neither disk activity or anything. Though the DAWs and the VSTs can cause some pretty heavy system load, the system is pretty much idle when playing songs back with VirtualDJ. And still as said before, after a few minutes things go from good, to bad, to worse, to silence. Searching though the net, it seems like everybody else is having some kind of general USB audio problem, where they have instant/permant crackling. I have not yet found anybody else with such a gradual decrease. The only person so far which also reports a similar issue is this:

But seems like he also did only get the standard "try this" - text block answer. As I said, I already tried all these.
So, what else can I do? This is really frustrating....

EDIT: It's too obvious (too me at least) that I forgot to mention: This happens independently of the buffer settings. I can go with 6ms or 50ms... problem is still the same. Also the "timing" of the problem is not affected by this.

Places you need to look are are your IDE bus and PCI bus.
Verify that the chipset drivers are up to date.
Also verify that your USB host is not sharing with any devices like WIFI or SATA controllers.
Have you sent a support ticket to E-MU support? You may want to for an issue like this.

I have been a long time faithful customer of vzw and although the past year I have been late on payments many times and really couldn’t afford your exorbitant prices for services lots of other companies offer sometimes three times cheaper than what you charge, I have hung in there trying my best to meet my obligations.
This month has been no exception. You don’t know the background; the whole story of people’s lives. I know you could care less because all you care about is the profit-the money that comes in.
I was told when I agreed to pay my bill on the third per the recorded message that I had 14 days to pay…you cut me off anyway. The phones are not the tissue; your suspending my service means I cannot work. I may lose my job…how do you justify that? In any case? The least you could do would be to keep 4986 on and cut the phones off. But no. You refuse to compromise and meet the basic needs of your customer. What does that say about your company? I tried to call back on three separate occasions to tell you I couldn’t pay because of unexpected expenses but couldn’t get out of the automated system…sadly couldn’t get to a real person which also speaks volumes to me.
All this tells me this is a company I don’t wish to be affiliated with any more. As soon as I can, I will discontinue service with you…I know you could care less. Problem here is you admit you cannot afford the service.
And you want to blame Verizon for losing a job because you have no cell phone.
If your job depends on that phone I would pay it on time every time if you need a job to pay your bill.
No other service is going to treat you any different. And if you cannot afford Verizon's monthly invoice how are you going to afford new devices, activation fees, possible security deposits on any other cellular carrier? You can't.
Also if you made an arraignment to pay and then decide you cannot do so, why should Verizon extend you service or credit, or why is it you want to use the service and data and not pay for it as agreed.
Get a prepay phone. Its evident the cost is too high for you to afford on post pay.

In particular, I am analyzing the example "Even Angle Reference Signal Processing (Digital Tacho, DAQmx).vi", whose documentation I am reproducing in the following:
DESCRIPTIONS:
This VI demonstrates how to extract even angle reference signals and remove the slow-roll errors. It uses DAQmx VIs to acquire sound or vibration signals and a digital tachometer signal. This VI includes a two-step process: acquire data at low rotational speed to extract even angle reference; use the even angle reference to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Run the VI.
2. On the DAQ Configurations tab, specify the sample rate, samples per channel, device and channel configurations, and tachometer channel information.
NOTE: You need to use DSA PXI-447x/PXI-446x and PXI TIO device in a PXI chassis to run this example. The DSA device must be in slot 2 of the PXI chassis.
3. Switch to Extract Even Angle Reference tab. Specify the number of samples to acquire and the # of revs in reference which determines the number of samples in even angle reference. Click Start to take a one-shot data acquisition of the vibration and tachometer signals. After the acquisition, you can see the extracted even angle references in Even Angle Reference.
4. Switch to the Remove Slow-roll Errors tab. Click Start to acquire data continuously and view the compensate results. Click Stop in this tab to stop the acquisition.
ORDER ANALYSIS VIs USED IN THIS EXAMPLE:

My question is: How is the synchronization produced at the time of the compensation ? How is it possible to eliminate the errors in a synchronized fashion with respect to the surface of the shaft bearing in mind that I am acquired data at a low rotation speed in order to get the "even angle reference" and then I use it to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation. In this application both operations are made in different acquisitions, therefore the reference of the correction signal is lost. Is it simply compensated without synchronizing ?
Our application is based on FPGA and we need to clarity those aspects before implementing the procedure.
