Beta Wacom drivers - 610-6.....issues?

Hey Everyone.....
I installed these a few days back (15th) and while they are improved overall I am starting to have system instability....BSOD 0x00000024 / 0x0000001E, warm boots before the login screen, and weird behavior like the NTFS file system not working ( causing corrupt saves ), superfetch shutting down, Photoshop minimizing - maximising then windows shutting down........Odd
A virus is not out of the question but before I reformat etc I was wondering if the Beta Wacom drivers has caused any issues on other systems. Looking at the reliability records the graph is pointing downward exactly at and after the date I installed the drivers.
Just troubleshooting....thanks in advance.

I got an Intuos 3 for Hannukah, to replace my Intuos 2. When I set it up I also installed the 610-6 driver, and all hell broke loose when using Photoshop: straight lines only, no pressure sensitivity, even more lag than the already terrible lag in PS CS4.
But I had installed it on top of my previous drivers (as Wacom recommends), which was 610-3 or something. So I totally uninstalled all Wacom drivers, then reinstalled 610-6, and now (so far) everything is smooth as silk.

Wacom or Bluetooth Mouse issues with most recent Beta??
All I was wondering if anyone was having issues with Lightrooms beta and pointing devices… while I’m sure the Wacom Introus4 is dying in Lightroom I can’t verify that my Mouse is as well.
I’m using the most recent Beta of Lightroom and Wacom Tablet Driver 615-3a… I’m sure the issue dosent reside with another program because the tablet only stops working in Lightroom. Basically I loose all tablet functionality until I reboot whin I attempt to access the Film Strip… I’ve repeated a few times and with each it dies…

Unfortunately, although you are getting problems with your Wacom and Lr, the solution for the short term is to re-install an older driver for the tablet until Wacom come up with a new update to fix the prolem. This has been a long running problem for users when operating Lr with Wacom tablets.
(I offer this solution not from personal experience, but from what other tablet users have reported in previous threads, and there have been several).

  • Illustrator CC crashes on launch in Windows 8 w/ no wacom drivers installed

Oddly enough, Illustrator CC is crashing about 5 seconds after I launch it, around the time that the little trial window pops up. Obviously I can't see if I even like the software if the darn thing doesn't work. I have no wacom drivers installed which seems to be the issue people with windows were running into. I don't think it's creating a crash log because I can't find it. I'm beyond frustrated with Adobe at this point. Please, please help.

I believe so, but I included some screencaps of the font faces themselves just in case. They're all TTF. No font management. Thanks for the reply.

Obviously since you have iOS 7 you're a developer.  As a developer, you signed a NDA with Apple not to discuss the iOS on a public forum.  Please log in to the Developer Forum using your credentials and ask for help there, lest you risk having your credentials terminated.

    Hi all,
Just a quick message to let you know that there are Beta MAC drivers for the 0202 USB & the 0404 USB available. Please go to www.emu.com and on the home page there will be an image and when you click on it you will be directed to another URL where you can download them.

There seems to be a web site here http://www.eduscho.at/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/at/-/EUR/TdAtBrowseCat alog-Start?CategoryName=phase_1&Entry=nlpopup
I am not sure, as it seems to be in German, to follow any links to other items that are not groceries or Coffee.
The same with this link http://www.germandeli.com/eduschocoffee.html
I was hoping it would list a name like this bit does
    Hub in Apple Pro Keyboard:
    Version: 1.22
    Bus Power (mA): 500
    Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
    Manufacturer: Mitsumi Electric
    Product ID: 0x1002
Vendor ID: 0x05ac (Apple Computer, Inc.)
Yours does not seem to list the name which means we can not use that method for finding out what make it actually is.
There was a post in this thread from EZ Jim about using a macam driver.
These I understand are more camera Specific than other drivers which is why we needed a name.
The one from IOXperts may be of more help

  • Re: Availability of Windows 7 Beta Device Drivers for some Lenovo Thinkpads

I think another point I need to throw in is this, sorry if it annoys the moderators but anyway,
If you are going to post beta drivers into a beta forum full of Lenovo technical users looking to try the latest stuff, then it's probably a good idea to keep some sort of line of communication open in the channel where you just attempted to make the drivers available. Kudos to Lenovo for having this *official* forum and kudos to them for trying to get some Windows 7 drivers out there to satisfy us, but there has to be a point where you turn around and say well look, they can't just get everyone's hopes up, post 10 odd dead links and then disappear for another week or two.
There's got to be some middle ground here, and I don't want to come off as criticising the fine work that I'm sure is going on somewhere, but at the same time a tiny bit more communication would go a long way to making us all feel more at ease, its the same hoopla with the Software Update being pulled, one blast of news and then nothing for ages. I'd rather have broken links and communication than all the downloads working and back to silence again.
I also appreciate that everyone at Lenovo is rather busy and that the people that come here devote what Im guessing is their free time or their already stretched work time to be here, but I'm not asking the world for someone out of a company of what, 21-24 thousand employees strong to check here once a day or something, am I ?
Anyway just my 2 cents, I'm sure I'll get yelled at but thought I'd throw it in anyway.
(Been asking for firmware for F3507G WWAN for nearly 2 weeks now as well to boot, wouldn't kill someone to just come on here and say, no, not gonna happen, we don't issue firmware, or a maybe in two or three weeks when we get round to it, all the more shameful when the likes of Dell and Toshiba have issued the latest firmware for their practically identical WWAN cards weeks ago, never thought I'd see the day where I was slightly envious of either a Dell or a Toshiba owner !)

I see the download links are working again. Thanks to whoever took care of that.
Like those few Lenovo employees roaming around in here, for the most part we customers are also helping out on a volunteer basis by providing feedback to Lenovo and support to other customers - and sometimes potential customers. Perhaps Lenovo should consider creating an official Lenovo-to-customer support and discussion forum (or you could provide a link to it if one exists). Anything that would improve communications from Lenovo to its customers (at this point regarding windows 7 drivers) would be welcomed.
    Thanks,

  • Magic trackpad, Intuos4, Better touch tools and Photoshop issues

I am using a new magic trackpad with an Intuos4 (most recent update) with Photoshop CS2. I used BTT (better touch tools) to designate upper left click for brush, and lower right click for eraser. Works great (little lag from trackpad) on my 2006 macbook.
But after several swithces between brush and eraser, my Intuos4 pen stops drawing or erasing. The cursor still moves around, but I can't draw or erase. Is thre something I can do about this?
I love using the trackpad with my left hand because I don't have to look down from the screen, and can keep my right hand drawing. Really effecient when it works. I checked the wacom forum and they said try moving the two pads farther apart.
Any insight? I plan on updating computer and software. Maybe this is not a problem with a new iMac and Lion?
    Thanks!!!

Is there any way to uninstall this update??
    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
The brute-force approach would be to reinstall the last version of Mac OS X.
Another approach, although not necessarily for the faint at heart, is to look in /Library/Receipts/boms ("bill of materials", presumably) for a file named after the update, then look in it for the list of files updated as part of the update. I don't know if there's a user-oriented application that knows how to look into a "bom" file, but I was able to see that information with a "strings" command in a Terminal session.
One last approach might be to look in /System/Library/Extensions for a "kext" file with a name and/or date that suggests that it was updated as part of the trackpad update.
Once new and/or updated files have been identified, you could move them out of the directory where they are found. If a file has been updated, it might be important to replace it with the older version of the file, otherwise something important could be disabled.

  • T42 Display Drivers? Audio Issues?

Finally made the switch from XP to Win7 x32 on my T42
Its blazingly fast, even with only 1 GB of RAM, and the performance really pleases me..
    However....
My display is plagued with almost constant flickering.  I have read that this is an issue for those machines with the GeForce 7300, however, my Device Manager is identifying mine as having the 9600/9700, but still having the problem... What would you advise? Is it possible that the drivers i have are for the 9600/9700 but the actual card is the 7300? I know I should know what I have but the laptop was a gift from someone upgrading
Secondly (not sure if I should start a second thread for this), but the audio drivers that Win7 installed, although seem to identify the card, do not produce any sound, regardless of volume levels. Is there a place to get these that are proven to work? I have installed the Lenovo Drivers pack available, but the issues persist...

No, what I meant was AMD has a Vista driver package,
and you install it in compatible mode in Win 7.
HERE is a link, read the instructions on how to install.
I don't know how well it will work, but research it more if you are unsure.
Should be better than what you have.

  • Non-beta audigy drivers with OpenAL support. Wh

Is there going to be any official drivers for the audigy that supports OpenAL? The beta drivers have been out for over three months. I have had a lot of problems with audigy drivers before so I don't want to risk installing beta drivers. The latest official drivers are from March 2004 so it almost seems like the audigy drivers aren't updated any longer.

They say beta since they don't run some of the software like EAX Console, Speaker Settings, etc. But the new Audio Console gives you all the settings for the stuff that the beta driver won't play nicely with.
They are WHQL Microsoft certified. So they are really final's. It's possible that no final version may ever be issued, just maybe more beta's, since Creative probably doesn't want to deal with masses of folks complaining about some of the older software not running anymore. But they are final drivers and completely safe. Just uninstall the older drivers, install the new ones, then install the Audio Console. Surround Mixer, Soundfonts, the Volume Control, the EAX Control and Device Settings in AudioHQ will all work. But I would make a shortcut to Audio Console as you really will only need that and the Surround Mixer to control what you used to need all that resource hogging pretty GUI software for.
If you already have the Audio Console installed I would uninstall that before you remove the old drivers and reinstall it after the new drivers are installed.
The new MediaSource stuff all works with the new driver too.
If you want this all in 2 packages (the Audigy 4 Pro UPax tweaked cd and the Creative beta driver tweaked to work with it) you can read the audio threads at driverheaven.net. Uninstall everything Creative. Then you uncheck Windows Drivers and Audio Console in the Audigy 4 cd install and after rebooting install the UPax Creative driver mod, reboot, install the Audigy Entertainment Center update only if using a Platinum breakout box, then install the latest official Creative Audio Console.
So you have several options. I still use only the official non beta Creative stuff since I'm not using any of the newer OpenAL games. I've read that the newer beta's improve the sound somewhat, but everything sounds great as it is.

  • Why does Photoshop elements 9 not start once I downloaded Wacom drivers?

I use Photoshop Elements 9, it is fully updated.
I recently switched from a bamboo tablet to an intuos. Previously, my bamboo worked perfectly. Elements could detect pen pressure and worked fine. Now, elements (the editor, not the organizer) has stopped booting.
However, I recently got an intuos and once I downloaded the drivers, Photoshop would stop booting. For example:
I try to open up a photoshop file, photoshop would stop responding.
I open up the welcome screen and click on edit, the edit button shows that loading sign for awhile before returning back to the normal edit button. After that, nothing happens and the editor doesn't open.
I try to open the editor directly, it stops responding.
There were however less than ideal ways I could force elements to boot. I could open up Wacom Tablet Properties, and delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements preference over there. When I do that, photoshop boots instantly even if it was in the middle of not responding. Even when I try to boot with the welcome screen and the edit button just fades, as soon as I delete the preference, elements boots. Even if I was waiting for fifteen or twenty minutes before deleting the preference, elements would boot. Another way I can get photoshop to open is using the wacom tablet preference file utility to delete the preference.
However, when this happens, pen pressure doesn't work and the cursor is really laggy. The disc keeps appearing over the cursor.
    Other stuff I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. I've tried using the disc the tablet came with. I've also tried the installing the driver from the website.
I'm not sure about resetting the photoshop elements preferences. I've tried clicking ctrl+shift+alt and clicking to open photoshop but it just opens up the properties window. (But isn't what I did with wacom tablet preference utilities achieving the same thing?)
I greatly appreciate any advice you could give me! Like if this is even the proper place to ask?

    Specifically, this:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5860819
But it is also very important to delete any existing preferences after a major OS X upgrade. For PSE 6 that would be:
    com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 paths
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 settings
They're in your username>library>preferences. Here's how to find it in 10.9:

  • Which is better for solving Mac G5 issues

I have been experiencing Kernel Panics and program crashes. I want something that is good for testing hardware and OS issues. Can either of these find corrupted data files? I am looking at two utilities for purchase. Which is better for solving Mac Issues?
    TechTool Pro
    or
    Disk Warrior?

Hi! Both and neither. Diskwarrior is the undisputed king of disk drive directory repair (which is the leading cause of drive problems)but that's all it does. TTP does directory repair although not as good as DW but TTP has a hardware test suite to test the components and can test a disk for bad blocks. I recommend both although you'll find yourself using DW the most. If you bought your machine new you should have a hardware test disk. It could be a separate disk or on one of the restore disks. As for your KP's start by disconnecting everything except the keyboard and mouse. Ram is also a likely culprit as can be a video card. The console log file will often give you a hint of the offending item. DR SMOKES article on KP's will also help. Tom

  • What is better XP drivers or manufacturer?

When installing new hardware such as a video card, is it better to use the drivers that Windows XP intalls upon detection, or the drivers that come with the product on cd or from the manufacture's website?
    Hmmmm???

Try the manufacturers one it's add more compability with current programs.
Although there is one time when i installed a new xp driver for my soundblaster and after installing i get a "blue screen of death" everytime i play a sound. Then i have to reinstall the OS. after i never encounter that problem again.
