Better Compatibility with Adobe Spry

I would hope Adobe will make ADDT more compatible with SPRY. For example, there are some issues when using the SPRY form validation methods with ADDT. Just does not always work.
Secondly, I wish they can remove the use of tables in some of the form. With more and more sites using CSS to layout their forms, I think its time that ADDT got on with the times and caught up a bit.

Yeah I was dissapointed as well that the Spry Validation did not work in ADDT. I did inquire about this. Basically it would require a complete rewrite of the ADDT validation.
So unless there (by some miracle) is a major upgrade to ADDT we won't see it happen.

JQuery Mobile with Adobe Spry?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to use a Spry dataset in a jQuery Mobile page. At the moment it doesn't work, only displaying the field names instead of actual data. It seems like nothing Spry works on the page, I wondered if the two are compatible?
I created a separate page with minimal code with a Spry dataset and it works OK, so I guess the code is OK? When it's copied to the jQuery Mobile page no data is displayed, just the field names.
Can anyone help? I'd really like to have Spry functionality in the mobile application!

What would cause Spry Validation to allow my Form to be submitted when the "Required" fields are left blank? Here is what is happening:
- I leave the fields blank and click my "Submit" button
- I briefly see the fields go Red with message "A Value is required"
- Then the Form submits anyway (tables update/no errors)

Clear Type compatibility with Adobe Reader 11.0.5

In Windows 7 Ultimate, on screen text for all pdfs using Adobe Reader 11.0.5 is terrible with Clear Type turned on, and not much better with it turned off. But without Clear Type on, text in other programs is lousy.
It seems like a compatibility issue between Windows 7 Clear Type and Adobe Reader 11.0.5.
What can be done?

Hello, it seems incredible that no one answer to this question, I have the same problem in Windows 7, Adobe Reader does not support ClearType but fortunately there are other programs to display PDF as SumatraPDF or Foxit Reader, hopefully in future updates resolve this problem. Greetings

Compatibility with Adobe software

I've been using Photoshop and Canon EOS cameras for years. Moved over to iMac about 5 years ago. So I'm reasonably conversant with the first two areas but by no means am I the world's expert on using Macs - I use it mainly for Photoshop and internet.
My question is more about how backward compatible these combinations are. I realise this is an Apple forum but it's hard to know who to approach on my problem and I'm going round in circles at present.
I have an iMac desktop running 10.6.8. with 2.8 Ghz processor and 4GB Ram - I know it's not the very latest but it does what I want it to and after all it's only just over 3 years old. I run Photoshop CS6 on it (i.e. not the cloud version). I also use a Macbook Air when going on photography trips, more as a hard drive for storage of RAW files. This runs on 10.7.5. and I have Photoshop CS5 on there (the difference is only because I haven't bothered to load the upgrade to CS6 yet). My cameras are EOS 1D Mk4 and newly acquired 7D Mk2. I like to shoot everything in RAW.
My EOS 1D works fine and I can open RAW images on both computers using Adobe Camera Raw. The 7D Mk 2 is the problem. Maybe Adobe hasn't issued the Adobe Camera Raw update yet but other forums seem to indicate it has (I believe it's 8.7.1) and clicking on the update tab in CS6 I'm told there are none to be downloaded.
A workaround is to use a DNG convertor but when I load the latest update for that (again 8.7.1) on to my iMac running 10.6.8. it says I need to have an operating system that's 10.7 or later. So my first question is - Does Apple not make these back compatible beyond a certain number of OS's - surely 10.6.8 isn't that ancient? I'm reluctant to upgrade to later versions like Mavericks or Yosemite simply because of all the bits of hardware (2 photo printers) and software. Also I've seen some scary stories on how Photoshop has been affected by these but maybe those issues have been resolved by now.
Tried to load the latest DNG update on to my Macbook Air which is 10.7 but that won't work either. The issue there might be because I haven't upgraded Photoshop CS5 to CS6 yet but I can do that. My second question is - before I upgrade the Photoshop software will the DNG convertor work and will Adobe Camera Raw work and open my EOS camera images using a 10.7 OS?

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II requires an upgrade to Yosemite for support. Support was added with the Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 6.01 updater last November.
So if you want native support of that camera you'll need to upgrade to Yosemite if your Macs will support Yosemite. The following is from this Apple doucment: How to install OS X Yosemite on your Mac - Apple Support

PSE 8 compatibility with Adobe Bridge CS 5 Camera Raw

I have Photoshop Elements 8 installed with Camera Raw 5.5 on a Windows 7 64-bit platform. I recently purchased Photoshop CS 5 which came with Camera Raw 6.2. I think both products work well independently, with the exception noted at the end of this posting. Where I'm encountering an issue is when I use Adobe Bridge to access an image file for processing which invokes Camera Raw 6.2. -- the changes made to the file show up in Adobe Bridge, but are not observable when the same file is viewed in the Photoshop Elements Organizer. When I look at the file properties I can see that Camera Raw 6.2 updated the file and the updated date does appear in the file properties accessible through PS Elements Organizer. However, the items listed in the Camera Raw metadata are different in the two products (PS vs PSE). Since the sidecar .xmp files are a form of XML, I'm wondering if Camera Raw 6.2 is writing data in a structure that is not supported by Camera Raw 5.5? I've tried to update PSE Camera Raw to version 6.2 following the instruction that appear on line, but it does not seem to install. Durring installation there are no error messages, but after the "installation" PSE Camera Raw still shows version 5.5. I noticed this first when editing a large number of "legacy" .jpg files, but I also have concern when editing Nikon .nef files.
It's a bit hard to tell, but when editing .nef files in Camera Raw 6.2 the changes may migrate to PSE once I tell PSE to update the thumbnail view. But what I observed was a very distinct differece in file's visual appeared when viewed in Adobe Bride CS5 vs PSE 8 Organizer. The PSE 8 images had greater color saturation. This leaves me wondering what's going on.

On my Windows 7 64 bit system the original version of Camera Raw.8bi was found in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements8\File Formats\ and had a size of 11,781 Kb shown in Windows Explorer. The file properties listed the size as (12,063,088 bytes). The digital signature was signed Thursday, September 03, 2009 3:34:37 PM. To the best of my knowledge this is the version that shipped on the PSE 8 disk which I installed in December 2009.
There is another copy of Camera Raw.8bi found in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats\ and had a size of 11,856 Kb shown in Windows Explorer. The file properties list the size as (12,140,496 bytes). The digital signature was signed Friday, August 20, 2010 3:30:03 AM. This date post dates the installation of Photoshop CS 5 on my system so it must have happened through some (automatic?) update.
The Camera Raw.8bi file that I've down loaded from Adobe for ACR 6.2 is the same size and has the same signing date as the one identified immediately above in the CS5\File Formats\ sub folder.
When I copy the down loaded file into the Elements8\File Formats\ sub folder PSE still indicates that ACR is version 5.5
I also have a copy of ACR in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats\ with a length of 14,526 KB shown in Windows Explorer. The file properties list the size as (14,874,576 bytes) and the signing date as Friday, August 20, 2010 10:39:07 AM. I presume this to be the copy of ACR used by Adobe Bridge and Photoshop which I installed as a 64-bit application. Since the signing date (but not the time) is the same as the date for the file in CS5\File Formats\ I'm guessing that it is also the result of an automatic update to version 6.2.
Something that's not making sense to me is that the down load was approximately 50 MB and I'm messing around manually moving a 12 MB file into a specific sub folder.

Sony Alpha 7R compatibility with Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 ?

Hi everyone,
Who does know if and how I can open the Camera Raw file created by my new Alpha 7R (RAW Sony ARW 2.3 format) from Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 ?
It does not seem to be the case by the look of the message below, unless there are some tricks for upgrade or whaever...
I did purchase this PS11 version one year ago when I got the new Sony Alpha STL-A99...
I had hope they would be compatible....
What options do I have ?

Each new camera model requires a separate camera profile so Adobe has to support every camera individually, and the ACR plug-in only gets new camera updates for current versions of Adobe products, which I suspect would be PSE12 in your case, since the camera is new.
Your official options are buy PSE12 and update to ACR 8.3 or use the DNG Converter 8.3 to convert your ARW files to DNGs which will be compatible with older ACR plug-ins like you have in PSE11.

Another, unofficial option, that works for some people is that Adobe is still allowing the PSE12 ACR 8.3 plug-in to work with PSE11, if you can figure out how to install it.
At least one person has gotten the ACR installer to update their PSE11 to ACR 8.3. Direct installer links are here, where I’d suggest you try the ACR 8.3 for CS6 link, first, and if that doesn’t work, then try the ACR 8.3 for CC link:

type off hand - flash getURL action does not actually give
you the option
to choose frame name. In the place where you define the
parameters like
_blank or _top, you need to type by hand the frame name.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M compatibility with Adobe CC?

It seems really odd that a late 2013 iMac wouldn't be able to run Adobe CC on it - or, at least, wouldn't be able to support Adobe CC with its Graphics card. The graphics card is GeForce GTX 775M, and I've just been told that the software can't be supported by it. Will there ever be support, or an updates that will allow this?
