Better Email program

Hi,
Your email program really sucks, and that is being kind! It is always freezing up, it crashes almost every day, it is slower than a snail, searches don't work right (if at all), the spell check is the worst that I've seen since Word 1.0. The spell check thinks that all names are mis-spelled and has no clue for a correction.
When ever I do a reply, if I hit enter to go to a new line, the program will crash and go to a refresh window. I have to log on again and start over. Often, I have to go to Word, write my response and do a copy paste!
Come on man! Comcast has a way better email program! I've seen better CGI email programs that are way better than the one you are using!

Just to share my .02 cents. I agree with everyone, that if you don't like a particular program you should find an alternative. BUT I will also say that I use webmail frequently, and it works pretty well for me. I have friends where it hasn't worked well and I have helped them to fix theirs. But it involved a few steps and what the end result was that there PC or their browser was the issue, not the webmail itself. Now there are a few things you mentioned that ARE in fact the webmail like it's spell check. That thing is pretty atrocious. I remember it not even auto correcting on the word FiOS or Verizon if I remember right. BUT other things like it's performance and the crashing of the browser were all fixable.

Any Better EMail Program Out There for Macs?

I used Eudora as my email program for 10 years and loved it. Unfortunately, it became very buggy on the Snow Leopard operating system. Entire mail boxes got corrupted. So, I had to find a new mail program. I was told that Apple Mail was the best and have been struggling to have it meet my needs for the past few weeks.
Is there any other program available out there that is more like Eudora, but still supported with a new version for Snow Leopard - or at least an be run on this operating system?

IMHO, Mail is the best. It will take a lot of getting used to for someone migrating from Eudora, though. I used to use Eudora as well, but gave it up years ago in favor of Mail.
Thunderbird will have some features that Mail lacks, but in turn lacks a lot of the polish and some very basic features that Mail has. For example, my wife was trying just two days ago to send a message to a subset of a group defined in Thunderbird's address book, and after ten minutes of both of us trying to figure it out, we finally gave up and she used _pen and paper_ to note the addresses. Doing this would have been trivial in Mail. These sorts of little not-uncommon niggling issues would prevent me from ever using Thunderbird myself.
You could also try [MailSmith|http://www.mailsmith.org>, which was a pretty compelling mail client once upon a time, but which I haven't looked at in many years.

Mozilla does not pass correctly greek letters from mailto command to email program while IE passes them correctly

I am using windows xp greek with greek regional seetings and when I run a javascript using mailto command (either with utf-8 or iso 8859-7 encoding) , the subject and body of the message which were in Greek do not pass correctly to my email program while in IE pass correctly. Hi Nancy, nice to see you again. The CSS validator showed no errors.
The HTML validator showed irrelevant errors, e.g., missing alt tags and also the prefererence for using UTF-8 encoding instead of the older iso-8859-1 used throughout my website (because it displays better in DW 5.5).
The CSS validator link is quite useful, as I don't have a CSS validator in DW 5.5, unless I am missing something. For HTML validation, I can use "Shft-F6".

Mass email program for iMac?

I apologize for posting this here. I could not find an appropriate category for this question. If you have a better idea of where I should post this, please let me know.
On my old PC I used Groupmail to send out mass e-mails. Since I've recently switched to an iMac, I want to find a similar mass email program that I can use on my iMac. (There is no Groupmail for Mac.) Any suggestions?

Any working Email Program for XM5800?

Hi,
I keep getting "Mandatory server policy failed, access refused." when trying to configure Mfe. Now at a point where i am looking at selling my XM5800.
I tried to ask our exchange admins to reduce the security, but this level is already basic and would be too risky for any organization to go below this level. I have an E61 and everything still works fine on that, it is able to access my mails and everything.
Is there any workaround, or any other email program that works for XM5800, Road Sync is Coming Soon and OMA is too Native. Please Suggest....

Nokia Messaging is apparently in Alpha for S60v5 - it just depends if you're prepared to wait. It seems like Nokia are holding back on upgrading Nokia Messaging until they release the touch version, so this may work in your favour. Check this link out:

Good grief... my email program PostBox is now using Chrome as its default browser. I want to use FireFox. Where is the setting that I have to change?

All I want to do is make FireFox my default browser for everything. Right now the email program is using Chrome, it didn't use to do this. It used to be FireFox and I want it back...

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

Email program not automatically checking for new email

I just figured out why I'm not getting new mail notification in the Droid email program with my Yahoo email. It seems that the email program does not automatically check for new email. I have to manually open the app and then new emails are downloaded. I have the email settings set up as "data push" checked and "fetch schedule" is at 15 minutes. Is there something else I should be doing?

The way you have it set up should work fine. The stock android email app (for other than gmail) does not push as soon as you get an email, it has to actually "check" your email for you and you set how often it does that. There is afairly new yahoo app in the market (go to market and search for yahoo) that supposedly pushes to your phone when you get an email. I haven't used it, but if you need your email right when you get it, it might be worth a shot.
this was found on the page before yours. anyway i had the droid in january and it had the email deletion bug. so after i lost emails, i traded to the storm 2. it sounds like the droid x is better in that area so i'm waiting for mine to be delivreed.
But as a tip if you lose youe emails randomly.
when i did i called vzw and they didnt know what was going on, but when they sent me an email i scrolled to the bottom of the list then when i scrolled up it would be gone. or gone the next day etc. so, i logged into gmail and we tried again. THEN IN REAL TIME WHILE LOOKING AT GMAIL INBOX ON LAPTOP and the droid, vzw sent another email, i scrolled to the bottom of the laptop gmail inbox and scrolled back up and it too was gone..not in trash/junk either then a second later it disappeared from the droid.
HOWEVER, I HAD OUTLOOK 2003 STUDENT TEACHER EDITION ON WIN XP SP/2 at the time and outlook WAS ABLE TO RETREIVE ALL THOSE EMAILS THAT DISAPPEARED FROM GMAIL AND THE DROID after i would manually send and receive email in outlook. that tells me that the droid email glitch is not deleting all those emails...just "cloaking" them but they are stil there on gmail but only way i could get them was via outlook once a week as i am atruck driver and i cannot get online often. thats why i went to the storm 2..till the Droid X.
As a side note, if i got an email on the storm 1 and 2 i would get it no later than 2 through 5 seconds after sender pressed send. My droid i had in january, took about 8-10 seconds average and 20-27 seconds when it was not cranky and deleting...errr cloaking my emails. also you may wany to see if your incoming yahoo mail settings are for imap vs. POP3... i hear Imap is better setting and see if yahoo has that as well
i hope Droid X is better. from what i hear,not as many email deletion bug issues here...just sync setttings and delayed email notifications.

When I click on an email address on a web page, a page no longer opens in my email program. Not sure if this is a problem due to Firefox or due to recent installation of Office 2010. I use a PC with Vista.

I'm not sure what's confusing you. Just generate a String (using a StringBuffer)
with the data you need and use it as the content of the mail message. If each
recipient needs different content, they'll each need a different MimeMessage
object.

I'm not clear on where you are seeing that text. When I view Google's cached page from the page found in this search

Why does my email template appear differently in various email programs?

I have created a CSS-style based email template using Dreamweaver CS6. The template looks great within Dreamweaver, on Internet Explorer and in Outlook 2003. However, when viewed in Outlook 2010, Hotmail and Gmail, the template is distorted. If I set my containers using pixel size, why would it be different when viewed in other email programs?

I am operating on Windows 8 and using Adobe Reader XL (11.0.03) and get the following message when I open the a file

I went to Edit - Preferences - Email Accounts - and added a gmail account but it is still happening!

I'm also getting this message from Adobe Reader XI when opening files from Windows Explorer. OS is Windows 7.
I'm not trying to perform any email action, is there a way to disable this annoying popup?

I just installed Window 7 professional in place of Windows 7 Ultimate RC to which I subscribed. I was not pleased to do a clean install as opposed to an upgrade and was not informed about it.
When I reinstalled Office 2007, my outlook does not work, although exchange on the web works. I get the following error message:

This issue may occur if the Outlook registry key is corrupted. When other programs try to use the Outlook Simple MAPI interface, they cannot retrieve the required information from the registry.
You must first remove the corrupted Outlook registry key, and then perform a Detect and Repair operation to have Outlook rebuild the key. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook
Select the subkey, and then press DELETE.
Click Yes.
Quit Registry Editor.
Start Outlook.
On the Help menu, click Office Diagnostics.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair.
Important: Above section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. I assume you have tried toggling the setting in Firefox between Outlook and, say, Gmail:

In the search box, type or paste '''mailto''' and pause for the list to filter.
Change the setting and OK to save it, then return to the dialog, change back, and OK again.
You also might want to toggle the setting at the OS level between Microsoft Outlook and the native Windows Mail client in a similar fashion. In Windows XP you could use IE's Options dialog, Programs tab, for this, but I'm not sure in Windows 7.
Since one possibility is a problem in your Firefox settings (including the possibility of interfering add-ons), and another is a problem at the Windows level (e.g., Registry settings), it would be useful to try to identify which one it is. One quick way to distinguish is to create a new Firefox profile. It will start up with all factory settings. You can switch back to your existing profile after testing.
