BEWARE - Calendar App Crashes During Search
BEWARE!!
Searching within the iOS5-resident Calendar app on an iPad with almost invariably cause the app to crash.
APPLE NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX.
BEWARE!
---- felix222
No need to shout.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

IOS 7.0.2 - iPhone 5 - calendar app crashing - HELP
iOS 7.0.2 - iPhone 5 - calendar app crashing - how to fix??
I installed iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 the day it was released. No problems. After learning tips/tricks am loving it. 27 Sept 2013 rec'd notification of an update iOS 7.0.2 (bug fixes etc), and did the update. But now every day the calendar app is crashing. I open it and it closes. The only way I can get into it is to search for an event, or when an event alert comes up, hit 'view'. Other wise I can't open the Calendar. Never ever had this problem before. I've tried turning it off/on, but still crashes. I've closed all running back ground apps and did a Restart, Pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake & Home buttons for a few seconds until it shuts down, then the Apple logo appears, and restarts. Calendar still crashes. How can I fix this? Help ... I use my calendar daily.Hello there Max,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting already. What I would do next is backup and restore your phone to iTunes.
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Before you restore from your backup, I would first setup the phone as a new device, then test the calendar app to make sure it works the correct way. Then restore from your backup and verify the Calendar is still working.
All the best,

After installing 8.2 on my iPad (2nd gen) all the apps crash during use. It appears that the iPad saves a version of what I was using because after the app crashes I double press the home button an there is a screen of an older version of the page I was using. I swipe it away and start over, only to have the same thing happen again. I have reinstalled all the apps, rebooted, synced and re-synced with iTunes. This is VERY irritating!
That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it... -
Calendar app crashes when going to march 2013
Does anyone else experience the same problem? I can recreate it on at least two iPads (the original iPad1 [iOS 5.1.1] and the latest Retina iPad [iOS 6.0.1])
While browsing the calendar in month view and going from febraury 2013 or april 2013 to march 2013, crashes the calendar app.
I can browse march 2013 fine while in day view, week view or list view, but not in month view.
No problems on the iPhone, just on the iPad.An obsertation: I have what appears to be an all-day event on April 1, that is a note that it is April Fools Day. However, this note is part of a holidays calendar that I subscribe to on my iPad. The holiday entries are an actual subscription, not individual entries on the calendar.
I have not had any Calendar crashes with this April 1 entry at all. As Skydiver said, it might be a DST problem, but it seemed strange that some folks are having crash problems with all day entries on 4/1 and some are not. Maybe this subscription entry doesn't count as an all day entry?? Dunno. -
Calendar App crashes in Month view
I have noticed today that when I try to navigate forward through the months of the year from Feb using either page swiping or the navigation arrow > at the base of the app, the app crashes each and every time.
A reboot has not resolved this. If the view is set to week, there are no problems, and navigating backwards is fine also (Feb>Jan).
Has anyone else experienced this or can suggest a solution?
Ipad2, 32gb, approx 6gb free.
IOS 6.0.1Musky50's suggestion worked for me too. It appears to be a clock change to summer time (the Americans change after us) and if you change all your April 1st All Day events to timed events this seems to work. If you have subscribed calendars etc you will need to uncheck these as Events in a subscribed calendar can't be changed and some are All Day. Someone somewhere else said that the update to 6.1 cured this problem. I haven't done this yet so can't say.

CS5 apps crash during launch in XP
Hi,
I just bought and installed CS5 Design Premium and can't get it to work, including Photoshop. Most of the apps crash. They crash during launch (splash screen) and therefore never get going. Each app seems to display different error messages. One common denominator seems to be something relating to scripting (not sure what that implies - plug-ins?). The only CS5 apps that don't crash are Bridge and Media Encoder.
Upgrading to 12.01 didn't help. I tried rebooting, uninstalling and re-installing. I ran a system scan with Windows Defender and no malicious software was detected. I run a very clean system so no unusual programs running in the background and what little I do run in the background, I exited from. I hadn't run a previous version of Photoshop (or any other program in CS5) so there were no Photoshop plug-ins to uninstall.
I do have Lightroom 3 installed (huge image database), which I have not yet uninstalled (far from trivial IMHO). Lightroom does have three plug-ins (all disabled) which are the Canon and Nikon Tether Plug-ins and a Flickr plug-in. I don't know how to uninstall these or whether it would affect CS5.
As an example, when I launch Photoshop, I get the following error:
AppName: photoshop.exe AppVer: 12.0.1.0 ModName: scriptingsupport.8li ModVer: 10.0.0.0 Offset: 000d183a
InDesign fails as it says "updating Panels" and I get:
AppName: indesign.exe AppVer: 7.0.0.355 ModName: support for javascript.rpln
ModVer: 7.0.0.355 Offset: 00036183
System Specs:
3.4GHz P4, 4GB PC6400, 1.5TB SATA, Nvidia GeForce 6600 PCIe, Asus P5WD2-e Motherboard, XP Pro SP2
I run Flash 10.1.53.64 and Quicktime 7.6.6, Java 6.0.2
When I launch Illustrator, it used to crash hard but now it stops while loading (Initializing Plug-ins, PDFFormat.aip) and displays a custom error dialog saying "Error loading plugins. AISaveForWeb.aip DxfDwg.aip PGNFileFormat.aip. Eventually it launches, apparently functional (haven't tested it).
Any help appreciated, thanks!Corporate users are often very conservative, as many needs must be met before a new system can be rolled-out. The reasons for being so conservative are rooted in good business, and in many cases are quite justifiable.
I have a friend who works IT at a railroad company, and he regularly has to support Windows 2000 machines amongst the majority of their systems, which are XP. He tells me what he and a whole team of people struggle with every day. I've been there. I administered systems for entire Engineering departments myself. One of the things I ALWAYS made time for, however, was breaking in new systems and getting to know them. As a result, our people always had near state-of-the-art systems to work with. It was even a selling point when our managers interviewed someone sharp who they were trying to get to accept an offer: Our work environment was second to none.
In recent times we are starting to see why staying with an ancient operating system instead of "biting the bullet" and moving up to modern technology is proving to be more and more expensive.
Brushing aside Vista - for a while - might have been justifiable, but...
Hours and hours to make something work on XP? New roll-outs of XP systems? In 2010? Are you kidding?
All that time being wasted to get old things working could and should be spent on embracing the new, and figuring out how to make it sing on key. People have now gone before you and can authoritatively state that Windows 7 can be made to work. A darned sight better than its predecessors in many ways!
Time is money.

Maps app crash when searching starts with a 'k'
When I do a search in the maps app. that begins with the letter k, (I was looking to see where kuwait was), the app crashes. I was wondering if anybody else has this problem and how I could fix it.
Message was edited by: AndycovThe problem doesn't occur on my system, so I doubt it's a bug in the Maps app, anyway. Have you tried restarting your iPad? (Hold down the power button until you get the red "slide to power off", do so, and then press the power button again to start the iPad back up.)
Hope that helps. -
Calendar app crashes when selecting save for this event only
When putting my work schedule into the calendar app, I usually put it in as a repeating event until a certain date. If I edit one of those days and hit "Save for this event only" the app will crash. It does save, but the crash is quite annoying.
I'm having a similar issue, but mine is crashing when I try to delete one occurrence of a repeating event, and when I re-open the calendar the event I'm trying to delete is still there. This only began after the 8.3 update. Eventually I just gave up and deleted it on my Macbook at home, but there's obviously a bug in the update.

Calendar app crashes on iPad after adding Google account
I just loaded my Gmail account on my iPad 2. The native mail app works fine but when I try to access the native calendar app, it flashes on for a second and turns off leaving back at the home screen. I deleted the account and went back to the app and it works fine (no sync with my Gmail calendar obviously). When I re-enter my Gmail credentials the app continues to crash. Thoughts?
SOLVED!!!!

News about the Calendar Syncing problem with iCloud!
First of all: Now it works! Yeah :-)
What I did:
1. Kill my iCloud account just on the iPhone. Not on the iMac, just on the iPhone. And I told the iPhone to kill all contacts etc. JUST on the iPhone.
2. Activate iCloud on the iPhone with my Apple-ID.
3. After about 3 Minutes all was back again! :-) Including all my calendars now! Yippieh...
That worked for me, I hope, it will help you.

Calendar app crashing when adding any event with repeat
On my thrive when I'm using the calendar app (the default android one) I can add one-time events just fine. However, when i try to add an event and select any repeat options (like weekly, monthly, etc), when I click "done" the app disappears (crashes). Strange though there is no force close message or anything. When I open the calendar again, I can confirm the repeat event was never added. I even tried a downloaded calendar app and while it did not crash it would still not enter any events with repeats. The "add event" dialogue just disappears and the event never appears on the calendar. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I am having the same problem. I my case I can never do a repeating event in the native calendar app, whether it's a new event or a modified one. Talked to support at Toshiba (multiple times) and they blamed it on the Android software. Suggested I download another calendar app from the market called "Ancal" which was a joke because it does not even support repeating events. I tried a few as others have. Since I'm using "myphoneexplorer" to sync my data with Outlook on my laptop vs. using google site for sync, I had to find one that works. I found that "Touch Calendar" (they have a free version you can test before buying) works great. All my existing events populated after install on the tablet. All you have to do is delete any repeating events you have in Outlook and do a sync, then any repeating events created via Outlook and/or your tablet sync perfectly.

Select FCS 2 Apps crashing during startup
I recently had to reinstall Leopard on my Late 2005 Power Mac (it was an 'archive and install situation', not a complete wipe of my drive). Afterward, I decided to reinstall all the apps I have on this Mac, including Final Cut Studio 2, which has been running flawlessly ever since I first installed it. After my reinstall, though, select applications in FCS will crash at startup- FCP, Soundtrack Pro and Color are the only apps that won't crash. I uninstalled FxFactory thinking that was the problem. I have deleted and then reinstalled the entire Studio three times thus far; the third time, I even ignored the updates from Software Update and tried starting them again. Still no luck. All the apps that crash do so at start up, with the generic "(App) quit unexpectedly" message; no extra info like "due to Ozone plug-in" which happened the first time with Motion. Ironically, the same FCS license runs on my mid-2009 MacBook Pro with no problems, even after I upgraded it to Lion. For reference, my Power Mac specs are: Late 2005 Power Mac OS X 10.5.8 Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 6.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 video card 3TB drive space (2TB, 1TB) Here is the crash log for Motion, which is the most recent app I tried to start. wow, who would have thought that a font management program could cause this kind of problem. Never would have thought to suggest it. Can you tell us what the words were in the crash report that suggested this cause?
And what font managment program were you using. One of my office mates does desktop publishing and her computers are always getting screwed up and she's a heavy user of font management programs. A couple of times I've found more than one version of suitcase running at the same time. Not too smart. -
Native Calendar app crash in ios7 - Please help
I successfully updated my iPhone 5 to ios7 however, the native calendar app carshes everytime I try to open it. I tried to power down and on again but still the same. Please help. What should I do?
I don't want to give the wrong advice here. Maybe Ann154 or tikibar1 can jump in to advise you on this. The calendar is present on my Galaxy S4, but it is from a different carrier.
Edited to add: I see that you have done a factory reset on your device. Have you checked the disabled apps list to see if the Calendar app shows there? This shouldn't be the case after a reset, but this is the only thing that I can think of. -
My iPad calendar app crashes immediately after being opened. Running iOS5.
I have updated my iPad to iOS5 and for several days I have not experienced any problems, but today I started having a problem with the calendar app.
I can open in and see that it is day view, but I can't get it to respond to any actions before it closes in just a few seconds.
I have rebooted and resynced, but the problem still exists.
I downloaded a third party calendar app and it works just fine, but it only loads my gmail events, none of my me.com/iCloud events. I would appreciate any recommendations on what to try next.Me too. Has been a major problem since latest software launch. It's extremely irritating.

Calendar app crashes when trying to view jpg image off calendar event.
i run my electrical buisness off the calandar app and it synces with 5 other people including myself. we scan an image(work order) attach it to the event in the calander then everyone can download it and view it anyware instantly. my problem is that 1 out of 5 times it will crash as soon as you tap the attachment in the calander event. it crashes back to home screen. any suggestions?
i really dont want to go back to windows operating system. i convinced everyone to go apple and now they are on my *** about this issue. THANKSAn obsertation: I have what appears to be an all-day event on April 1, that is a note that it is April Fools Day.
Dunno. -
