BEWARE! Itunes for Windows 7.3 has issues

When prompted I upgraded to Itunes 7.3 and suddenly I couldn't back up my library any more. Either using DVD-R or changing drives and trying CD-R. It would work upunil it says it was initializing the backup, and then it would spit out my disk and leave a message that it encountered a problem.
I tried all sorts of things, nothing would work. (restarting the computer, uninstall and reinstalling itunes 7.3, CD-R in my DVD drive, etc.)
Finally I uninstalled 7.3 and reinstalled 7.2 and now everything works fine.
So the issue has to be in version 7.3.

started working again in 7.2.
Yes I have three different brands of DVD's and two different brands of CD-R. It spit out every one. It only worked after I reinstalled 7.2 and every combination I tried and failed with 7.3 now works.
The problem is that Apple update keeps trying to install the new version and now I am gunshy about upgrading.

I followed the instructions in this link but it has not fixed my problem. After I have done the screenshots and go into the device manager, my iphone is still not recognized in any of the devices. Any suggestions?

I am trying to get iTunes up and running again on my PC. I have followed the "iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues" I have uninstalled, re installed, made a new user account gone through the system - wide fixes and still no joy. There are 5 Ipod devices in the house and we deperatly need to get this fixed.

Then proceed to repair your Quicktime:
Control Panel >

ITunes for Windows 11.0.4: "iTunes has stopped working" error messages when playing videos, video podcasts, movies and TV shows

Title says it all.
I've had this issue on this machine for some time but not forever. Music playback is fine but anything video related freezes the program. When I launch the program in safe mode it works though. Clearly some add-on or file is causing it to foul up.

Additional Information
Some customers using computers containing NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA (SATA) controllers may experience unexpected behavior when playing videos in iTunes on Windows from a SATA hard drive. iTunes may unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive or the computer may unexpectedly reboot or show a blue screen. Standard IDE hard disks are unaffected by this issue. If your computer contains a standard IDE hard disk, you can copy your video files to that disk and play those copies of the files in iTunes or QuickTime Player.

HT1349 Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

I now have itunes for windows 8 on my laptop and I cannot transfer a new song from my library to a playlist on my iPad mini using IOS 8.1.3

I now have IOS 8.1.3 on my iPad Mini and I tried to move the new song from my library from my purchased file to a playlist. I can no longer click and drag the song from anything to the playlist. In addition, when I sync my iPad to my laptop none of my music from the iPad shows up in iTunes on the computer. Why does Apple continuously mess around with the simple actions of the program. It is very disheartening to be treated like this as a long time customer. This has happened so many times that I am getting the feeling that they seem to enjoy screwing up the users ability to use the program

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Check system requirements:

The main issue might be having too little RAM. Most computers run newer systems more smoothly with more RAM than Apple says is a "minimum" for running that system version
After installing 10.6.3 run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

The new system should install on top of the old one. That said, things have been known to go wrong and it makes sense to do a backup before installing the new system. In fact you seem to care about your files and things so you need to always have a backup because one day you will wake up and you hard drive will be dead and everrything on it gone. Buy an external hard drive and start using Time Machine or something to back up. The other risk is when you install the new iTunes. It doesn't happen frequently given the millions of users but there are daily posts here from people who for some reason the installation wiped out their whole library. If you have a backup then there's nothing to worry about.
This is well within what many people can do at home. It's a matter of inserting an optical disc and clicking you way through menus.

Unable to Burn CDs in iTunes for Windows: (Will not fit, but it should.)

I am attempting to fix an issue with a friend's iTunes for Windows. Although previously this computer using this media was able to burn audio CDs through iTunes, recently, an error has appeared before any burn. When loading the proper amount of time to fit on a CD, iTunes claims:
"The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD"
"Do you want to create multiple Audio CDs with this playlist split across them?"
"This will require more than one CD to complete."

Additionally, I copied the iTunes playlist to a new drive that was recently installed with Windows, and the same problem occurs when rebooting under that system.
Also, please note that this issue occured prior to updating to iTunes 7.

Adding new Visualizer(s) to iTunes for Windows (Vista/7 64-bit)

I was actually kinda curious, not really a technical question, but are there ways to add other visualizers into iTunes? I ask this in particular, as I have worked with Macs before, and I fell in love with the Jelly visualizer from 10.5, and would love to have that same one running on Windows Vista. Any suggestions as to where other visualizers can be obtained, or how to port one over from Mac to PC?

That version is quite old now, though its fine if you don't have a device that requires a newer version for syncing or want to use the latest features. Should you want to bring things up to date howver, and have problems updating, then for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Not sure how long this has been a problem. Kids are young and I manually manage most things but recently having music synced is an issue. All software has been kept up to date.
