BEX ANALYZER 7.0 - not work
hi, when i open 7.X analyzer, excel is opened, but buttons not work. I have win xp and SAP gui 6.40 with the latest patches. Have you any idea how to solve this problem, thanks for reply
Can u please check the patch level for SAPLogon 6.40. If its less than 5 then it will not work.
Solution : Install Patch 5 of SAP GUI 6.40.
Or use the following workaround:
set registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAPGUI] "StartSaplogon"=dword:00000000
U can refer to the note : 796428

SAP BW Bex 7.3 Queries not working with Enterprise Portal (EP) 7.3 ABAP Stack
Dear Portal Gurus,
we want to integrate SAP BW Bex Queries 7.3 into an Enterprise Portal 7.3 EP ABAP Stack only installation.
1) We have Done SSO between EP And BI System
2) System Object is Created
3) When we trying to create Iview of BEX 7.3 report, its executing that report on BI server, we don't have java stack on BI System
4) We have updated the required table in Bi system for executing the report on EP
5) RFC is OK, System Object Test is OK, Report is working independently from Business Explorer, but not working from EP
There no irj services available on BI system, as it is only ABAP stack.
Can anybody help us in achieving our requirement
Thanks in advance
Michael WeckerHi Michael,
To integrate portal with BI you need to perform BI Portal integration steps.
Refer to a document link below for guidance purpose.
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0a5216a-349c-2a10-9baf-9d4797349f6a?overridelayout=t…
Ensure that you have performed all these relevant steps.
Hope this helps.

BEx Fiscal Period variables not working in Webi
Hello,
We have an BEx user entry variable for Fiscal period, that works correctly in BEx. In the prompt LOV, I get values from year 2003 to 2013.
When I run it in Webi, the LOV starts from year 0000 to 2040. Also there are 16 periods in a year, wheras the LOV displays 24 period, even after restricting on fiscal variant.
Has anyone successfully been able to make Webi work with BEx fiscal period variants?
Thanks,
NikhilI created a universe objects with following in the
"Select"
[0P_FPER].[NAME]
"Where" condition
<FILTER KEY = "@Select(Fiscal year Period\LovPeriod_Fiscal Year)">
<CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION = "Greater">
<CONSTANT CAPTION = "AB1000001"/>
</CONDITION></FILTER>
When I create a report with this object, I get no data.
I change the above to
"Select"
[0P_FPER].[NAME]
"Where" condition
<FILTER KEY = "@Select(Fiscal year Period\LovPeriod_Fiscal Year)">
<CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION = "Less">
<CONSTANT CAPTION = "AB1000001"/>
</CONDITION></FILTER>
I tried changing the CONSTANT CAPTION values, everytime "Less" works but "Greater" does not. Does "Greater" not work? -
BEx Analyzer variable screen not showing for user
Hello,
I have a BEx query that shows the variable screen to enter the query parameters when I run the query but when the user runs it, he is not given the variable screen and therefore cannot enter the variables. Both the user and myself are running the query in BEx Analyzer (Excel).
The user is new to BEx. Is there perhaps some security or role setting that needs to be changed? Something else?
Thanks in advance for your help!Hi Paul,
I am also facing exactly the same problem as you were facing. Could you please tell, whether your problem got solved? If yes, then would you please provide the solution for the same?
Thanks in advance,

We are moving from Bex 3.5 to Bex 7.0 and using Analysis for Office 1.4.7
We have queries that do an average for the results rows of dynamic calculations and the queries will not open in Analysis for Office 1.4.7 (example is below)
We get an error message that can be found below
We were able to open the queries in Analysis 1.4.5 with the correct results.
We do not understand why it worked in an older version and not the new one.
Is there something missing in the version 1.4.7 of Analysis for Office that is preventing our queries from running?
We do not want to move back to 1.4.5 because the performance is better in 1.4.7.
Help.....Hi Patty,
I just checked 1.4.7 by making "Calculate Results As.." for Key figure and formula to Average(and also tried others as well). No error is coming in Analysis Office. reason might be because of other reason
Any way, As Tammy Powlas suggested can you check with SP8 -
BEx workbook Default variant not working with Broadcaster
Hi,
We are broadcasting a BEx workbook, which has more than 1 queries. We have a default variant to populate all the input variables. But while broadcasting, this default variant is not populated sometimes, So the query returns wrong results. It happens randomly. I have checked broadcast logs also nothing unusual found. Can someone throw some light.

Scheduled BEX Broadcaster reports does not work automatically after BW 7.3 upgrade
Hello,
We recently upgraded our BW system from 7.0 to 7.31
Since then broadcasting reports has been inconsistent. Not all the reports are broadcasted.
Some reports of object type Query has been scheduled to run everyday but I don't see that in released status in SM37.
Some WAD templates throws an error that states " JAVA SYSTEM ERROR : EXCEPTION in method process function"
WAD reports also flags this warning : "Transformation Exception while transforming BEX web templates" in all the reports.
System Version:
BI ABAP 7.31 SP11
BI JAVA 7.00 SPS 30 Patch.
Most of the suggested SAP Notes are covered in this release.
SAP suggests to upgrade BI JAVA. But we are looking for a quick fix since JAVA upgrade has to go through a process and that's time consuming.
Appreciate your suggestions on this.
Thanks,
Nithya.Hi,
Please have a look to the Blog - BI-JAVA, BEx Web and EP: the real connection to resolve your Problems after the Upgrade to 7.31.
There a quite massive differences between BI-JAVA 7.0x and 7.3x.
See also the Section BEx Web Java 7.3x in the SCN Document - BEx Versions 3.5 and 7.x after Upgrade

BEX Analyzer not working after SAPGUI730 update
Good day
I really require your expert assistance with the following:
The client has just upgraded to SAPLogon 7.30 file version 7300.3.1084 patch level 8, but they did not consider the application level and MO versions on any of the laptops.
A few laptops are configured with Windows 8, Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 and Excel for 32 bit.
Setups were run for "gui730_0-10010496: and "gui730_8-10010496".
Everything works, except for BEx Analyzer that does not want to open at all.
How do I fix this?
Thanks in advance
CjHi,
The support for Microsoft Office 2013 is available only after BI-addon for SAP
GUI 7.30 FEP300.
See 1652769 - 730 GUI DVD - BEx tools - HW\SW requirements
Have you satisfied this criteria?
Regards,
Michael -
Chinese characters not displayed in Bex Analyzer
Chinese characters in a BI report display fine in Bex Web, but not in Bex Analyzer (Excel). Not sure if this is a NW2004s issue, or just an excel config issue. Is this a known issue?
The problem is fonts. Are you setting a specific font for your dialog? If not, this is a JRE bug. Regardless, you can display the Chinese if you set the font for the dialog using a font that you know contains Chinese glyphs.

F4 input help on Variable screen is not working on Portal
Dear Experts,
We are facing one issue when we run the WAD report on portal, variable screen gets hang after clicking on input help button (F4) for couple of variables. We are facing same issues when we run the base queries on portal. But when we run the same base queries in RSRT (Tcode) or in BEx Analyzer we are not facing this issue and able to get the input help screen with values.
I also have gone through some old posts related to such issues but didn't help much. We are already on SAP BW 7.4 SP Level 008 and for Char IO Query Filter Value setting is kept as "Values in Master Data Table" only. This is a MD IO with Compounding.
Kindly let me know if anyone has faced such issue.
Thanks in Advance,
NileshDear Martin,
There is a no long running work process in the backend and data volume is more in Master Data Table, there are around 19 Lacks records available.
For BI Java patch and defaultTrace for errors I will check it with BASIS Admin team. Unfortunately I don’t have rights to do same.
Thanks,
Nilesh -
Hi all,
We are having a problem with RRMX and the BEx Analyzer version that it's launching.
We are running BW 3.5, and all our workstations have both BEx Analyzer 3.5 and BEx Analyzer 7.0 installed. SAPGui version is 6.40 SP26, BEx Analyzer 3.5 has SP12 installed.
Naturally, we want RRMX to launch v3.5 but it keeps launching v7.0. Is there an easy way to configure RRMX to launch the legacy version?
Steps I have tried:
1) Transaction RSZVERSION. This only sets the minimun version of the BEx Analyzer, which does not help us.
2) Registry key LAUNCH_VERSION=LEGACY, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SAP/BEx/Analyzer. This had no effect.
3) Modifying BExAddin.xml. This one I found out myself, but it's tricky to distribute. The xml-file has a tag called <LaunchLegacyVersion>, when this is set to False, the correct BEx Analyzer version (3.5) is launched from RRMX. As a default, this is set to true.
Now the tricky part is, that BExAddin.xml seems to be a user-specific file which resides under the current users IsolatedStorage folder (%SystemDrive%\Documents And Settings\%UserName%\Local Settings\Application Data\IsolatedStorage). Under the IsolatedStorage folder, there is a 3 folder deep directory structure, and these directories have names that are randomly generated for each user. This means that I can't possibly know what the BExAddin.xml's path is for every user. Making things worse, the whole IsolatedStorage folder doesn't exist, until a user has started RRMX once.
So the question is: is there a place that I could distribute the modified BExAddin.xml so that the settings would be made global for each user, or is there another way to do this?
Best regards,
Juha KinnunenHi Leo,
Yes I tried the personalization but it seems doesn't work, I don't know why.
I set the personalization in the BEx analyzer according to the help documentation step by step but the variable selection screen still pop up when the workbook is opened.
If I executed the query which contained in the workbook seperately there is no variable selection screen pop up.
And because I don't wanna change the variable, so I didn't uncheck the ready to input.
Thanks for your infomation!
