Thanks for answering,
but that's not what i'm searching for.
Now a more detailed description of my probelm.
I'm searching for a mechanism to place (automaticly) a Text in an empty row  of a Query ( e.g. to display "That is a Testquerie don't use " or to display a Help message ).
To solv this I found a couple of functions (e.q. UPF_EXCEL_AFTER_DATA_PUT_01 or RH_START_EXCEL_WITH_DATA) but they don't work .
Maybe I'm just to stupid to handle them right...
Hope somebody can help me.
Kind regards

  • Which macros does BEx Analyzer use? How to call the refresh macro?

    Hi everybody,
I would like to get an overview about which macros the BEx Analyzer uses, espacially the macro which is responsible for refreshing the workbook. I want to know what BEX Analyzer is doing when I open the variable screen, I assume there is an SAP macro that opens the variable screen?? I tried to look in the online help at help.sap.com but couldn't find a list of macros.
The idea behind this is, that I have a BEx workbook with 5 queries in it. A colleague now wnats to write a VBA code that calls the variable screen, enters  company 1, period and year, runs the workbook and saves it. Then opens the variable screen again, enters company 2, period year, etc etc etc......
What my colleague needs to know is which macro he has to call for the workbook refresh / variable screen in order to make his VBA coding.
    Many thanks in advance!!
    Michael

Which version of Bex are you using ? Bex 3.5 or Bex 7 ? This will significantly affect the answer.
    For Bex 3.5, here is some useful information;

  • BEx Analyzer: Use Of Variable Values For Planning Sequence

    Hi experts,
I want to start a planning sequence using a button item in a BEx Analyzer workbook. The planning sequence itself is defined with several variables, that are input ready. The same variables are used in BEx Queries that are bound to DataProviders in the workbook. Therefore the variables are filled by the user, if the workbook has been started. If the user wants to start the planning sequence, that is defined on the button item, the same variable values (which the user has already set in the beginning) should be used. But I didn't find a way to fill planning sequence variable from variables (like it is possible in the web interface using the DataBinding function). It seems, that it is only possible to set the variable with static values, that are defined in the button item. Am I erring in this point?
Anyone here who can help me regarding this issue?

    Eitan Ohayon wrote:
Why did you raise this question?,did you face any problem?
    Hi Eitan,
The problem was, that the planning sequence worked fine in web but not in analyzer. The system told me in web, that several records had been read, created, changed and deleted. System messages in BEx Analyzer always indicated zero reads, creations, reads and deletions.
Using your idea to set breakpoint in the INIT_EXECUTION method gave me the information, that all variables are not set or set with initial values (like '0000' for fiscal year). This seems to be the reason for my problem. Now I've reduced the planning sequence definition on the button only to that variables, that are really needed. Furthermore I defined the Command Range to get dynamic values for the variables from the excel sheet grid. So it seems to work.
    Thank you for your help!

  • SAP Bex Analyzer (Netweaver 7.1) Opens workbooks twice when starting.

We just upgraded from bex 3.5 to 7.1, and have set it to open the Analyzer whenever excel starts.  But now whenever we open an excel workbook it opens each workbook twice.  We have one file in the XLSTART folder that loads in macro's but just opens a blank workbook.  The file we are opening has code that sets calculation to manual and prompts the user that it has set to manual.
Whenever we open a file, it promps the user twice about setting it to manual, but only 1 workbooks pops up (because excel only allows one workbook with the same name to be open at a time), but we also get two blank workbooks that open up because the file in the XLSTART folder is being opened twice as well.
Has anyone else seen this problem with workbooks being opened twice, or attempting to be opened twice with bex analyzer 7.1?

What version of SAP-GUI are you using ? SAP-GUI 7.2 (latest version) was heavily rewritten using Visual Studio and SAP has stated that certain features that existed in earlier SAP-GUI versions are no longer available (it's Microsoft's Fault). It is also quite possible that your initial launch macro in Excel is causing the problem.
I would personally recommend that you do NOT launch Bex Analyzer when Excel opens, unless this is  your primary method to interact with Bex workbooks and such. That may resolve your issue.

  • Calculated Keyfigures Fromm Bex Analyzer into BO without Unit

    Hi Guys,
We built a Universe on top of Inventory Query from Bex Query Designer. We have  lot of Calculated Key figures built on Restricted Keyfigures.
In the Universe some Calculated Keyfigures are shown as folders with Unit value and some of them are not shown in folder and hence it is not bringing the Unit.
If we run the same Query from Bex Analyzer all the Calculated Keyfigures have units associated with them.
Can you please let me know if any of you have the same issue.
    Thank you,
    PVK

    Hello PVK,
I recommend to post this query to the [Integration Kits - SAP|BusinessObjects Integration Kits; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to the BusinessObjects Integration Kit for SAP.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all SAP Kit queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Thanks a lot,

  • What protocol and port number(s) does BEx Analyzer use?

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to packet shape BEx traffic to give it a higher priority. Is BEx using the same protocol and ports as the SAP GUI?

    Hi,
Download Tcpview from the following link and see processes and  ports used by SAP GUI and Bex
    http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/TcpView.zip
In addition to tcpview you may install sniffer software to your computer to capture and analysis network packets.

  • Can system use 7.0 AA while using 3.5 BEx Analyzer?

    Hi Experts,
I seek your help here. I understand that there is a setting in SPRO that controls what security is being checked in BW system i.e. old 3.5 security or new 7.0 Analysis Auth security. Until, we explicitly set this setting to use new BW 7.0 AA, system checks access restriction against 3.5 roles & auth. This happens even when you are using 7.0 BEx Analyzer to run queries and workbooks. This scenario is not supported but still it works.
Once we change the setting in SPRO, and move to 7.0 AA security, system starts checking access restriction against 7.0 AA.
My question is, does this hold true even when we are using 3.5 BEx Analyzer?
    Regards,
    Purvang

    Hi Purvang,
In BI 7.0, you can enable the analysis authorizations either from SPRO settings, or using transaction code RSCUSTV23.
The authorization mode should be set to Current procedure with Analysis Authorizations, if you wish to enable AA.
However, BEx basically check what authorization mode is set. If you are using BEx 3.5 with Analysis authorizations enabled, it will still check for the authorization restrictions at the InfoObject level.
Viceversa, if the AA mode is disabled and set to "Obsolete concept with RSR Authorization objects", the Analysis authorizations will not be checked, even though you use the latest version of BEx.
    Hope this clarifies!!
    Best Regards,
    Raghu

  • TRYING TO LAUNCH BEx ANALYZER FROM R3 SYSTEM, WITHOUT LOGIN AGAIN...

    Hi mates,
We are trying to launch BEx Analyzer, with a Program/Function from R3 System, using an RFC.
1.- We create a program in R3 system (4.6c), in that program we try to call BW (SAP BI 7.0, SP18), with:
            - CALL FUNCTION 'RSAH_LAUNCH_TRANSACTION_SLAVE'
              DESTINATION **RFC TO BW**
             EXPORTING
            TRANSACTION                  = 'RRMX'
    or
           -  CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_CALL_TRANSACTION_USING'
              DESTINATION **RFC TO BW**
                 EXPORTING
                   tcode                         = 'RRMX'
                   mode                          = 'N'
With that, or calling an Z transaction, with an Z program, and calling the next functions in the BW program:
             'RSSEM_QUERY_LAUNCH'
             'RSAH_LAUNCH_EXCEL'
With o without setting Infoprovider and Query or Workbook in the functions.
    The result was the same:
    1.- R3 call BW - OK
    2.- BW call BEx ANALYZER/EXCEL - OK
3.- Analyzer shows, but the user have to login again in BEx Analyzer to open queries or workbooks, and that step we are trying to hide to the users.
We need that users call BEx ANALYZER from R3 to BW using an R3 program or transaction, without login again into BW or BEx, but it seems like there is a problem with ANALYZER, RRMX (and its functions) and SSO.
RFC works fine, and is "trusted". Remote connection and Test Connection works OK.
If you make a REMOTE ACCCES with the RFC, and call RRMX, the result is the same, you have to login again in BEx Analyzer, to open queries or workbooks...
We think, must be something wrong with the SSO, or the SSO with BWE and BEx Analyzer, i mean something wrong with the standar or versions.
    We tryied with:
    1.- BIAddon 9 in Excel 2007
    2.- BIAddon 6 in Excel 2003.
    We really appreciate your help.
    Best regards,
    Bruno.

  • Open another workbook with a button in Bex Analyzer

    Hi,
is it possible to create a button in a workbook in Bex Analyzer which opens another (specific) workbook in a new window?
Or is there another easy way to open a specific workbook in Bex Analyzer.
    Best regards.

    Hi,
You can configure excel to open each document (e.g. workbook) in a own window, within options (display ->windows on taskbar).
You can also have 2 excel windows logged on to different BW systems (e.g. QA and PRD) bij opening not Bex but Excel for the second session and opening the BW Addin mannuelly via the Extra's -> addin menu...
How to open a specific workbook is beyond my current knowledge..

  • BEx Analyzer 7.0 result column

    Hi Gurus
I have a question regarding the BEx Analyzer 7.0. Hope you can help.
My customer wants to use BEx Analyzer 7.0 but is not happy with the fact that the excel query result starts in column F instead of column A (like the old BEx Analyzer did.)
Is there a way to automatically hide/disable columns A-E in the BEx Analyzer 7.0????
    Many thanks for any info.
    Regards!
    Willem van der Hut

    Hi Willem,
By Default it opens from Column F becasue Column C and Column D is used for Filter box. You can create your own workbook and can define the items where  ever you want and can publish to role. End user can define their own workbook template also.
Within the BW 3.x analyzer, this is done by going to "Business Explorer -> Settings -> Permanent Workbook Template" and choosing the permanent workbook template. This will create an entry in the RSRWBTEMPLATE table for this user. Similarly, within the 2004s BEx Analyzer, the user can go to "BEx Analyzer -> Global Settings -> Select Default Workbook". This will allow them to set a permanent workbook for themselves or they can flag the global parameter to set this globally.
Please check below blog, it might help you:
[Setting the Global Workbook Template in SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI or BW 3.x|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417800)ID1050314550DB11623292632027977638End?blog=/pub/wlg/4453]

  • Run report from Backend BI system using Bex analyzer

    Dear All,
End user (GM)  is having access to 5 queries (reports). Right now end user is accessing reports via enterprise portal system. Now requirement has come that end user will login to BI backend system and he should see the query names in his Role/User menu then he will double click on query name and it will point to Bex analyzer.
So end user will see reports via Bex analyser using backend system.
in backend BI system, in end user's pfcg role, i added role menu as BW report ID, it is showing in end users's user menu, but when he click on that..it is pointing to Bex analyzer but not opening report. Then again end user has to type query name there and execute...

    Hello,
We are getting an error using BEx Analyzer, when we execute a query or workbook and select the 'copy sheet' function.  The error is:
An error occurred when communicating with the BI Server
As a result of this the system has been disconnected from the BI server.
    Exception Condition 'BAD_VALUE_COMBINATION' raised.
We are using BEx Analyzer 7.10.

    Hi
    Implement this note first
    Note 1086904 - BW 7.0 BEx: Transactions RRMX/RRMXP
    in case if nottting works
Run the Same query in RSRT  transaction code , see if you get the same error.
if you get the same error.
Go to RSRT give the query name and Generate the query (using generate button in RSRT)

  • Open a new session when using go to documents from bex analyzer.

    Dear experts,
We are using the go to documents functionality in bex analyzer.
we enter the workbooks with a SS0 link (RRMXP) through the portal ,
our problem is that when we want to attach a  comment or document (we use go to documents)
the browser uses a session which is already open.
When the user enters his comment or document and closes the browser session he terminates the SSO.
My question is where can I define that when using in bex workbooks right click go to documents it
will always open a new browser (internet explorer) session and not use an already open session.
    Thanks for your help

    TMega,
The Go> menu commands apply to the current Finder window. It has always been this way, and it always will be. The answer, in this particular case, is to first open a new Finder window. This is easily and quickly done by pressing Command-N. You can add to this the use of Shift-Command-K to quickly open a new window, then move that window to the Network folder.
So, the answer to your question is "Yes, you can always open a new window when accessing the Network folder," but you can't do it just the way you were thinking.
