Iam Using Bex Broadcasting and trying broadcast email.
but it is raising an Error.
    -->Settings were started from the BEx Broadcaster
    -->Processing for user SUMANB, language EN
    Processing setting
   -->The query was successfully generated.
-->Error: com.sap.ip.bi.webapplications.runtime.controller.MessageException: The Web template "0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCAST_PDF" does not exist in the master system.
How to assign a printer. to print the reports.
Points are assigned for proper answers.

Hi,
Trying a 'Find' in the 'Web Application Designer', for this template.
If not available, go to 'RSA1', 'BI Content', choose 'BEX Web Template' and double-click on 'Select Objects'. The template should be here.
Highlight and 'Transfer Selections' and you will install the template.
Now try your broadcasting again.
If it still does not work, you will need to go via 'SPRO' - just reply and I will explain if the first part above does not solve it.

Subnet vs VLAN, L2 broadcast and L3 broadcast

Hi all,
I understand what are subnets and VLANs in which subnet breakup a network into different smaller segment, whereas VLAN is the logical breaking of a physical switch into several logical ones.
By right, each subnet and VLAN belongs to its own broadcast domain.
However, there are still some grey areas which i am not able to fully grasp and hope gurus here can advice further
q1) is VLAN and subnet a 1:1 relationship ? can multiple subnets belong to a single VLAN, or multiple VLANs share a same subnet ?
The reason being I have come across a design specs which lay down "Production environment" , inside it has multiple subnets which is okay, but I am not sure are the subnets belonging to the same VLAN ? or rather can they ?
q2) if devices are from a same subnet/connected to the same switch does not need to be routable to another other subnet/network. there is no need to set a gateway ip in the devices already am i right ? But do they still need IP addresss to communicate with one another ?
q3) Technically, can a frame be send from a device to another device connected to the same switch without "IP addresses" assuming both the source and destination MACs are made known ? (meaning that the src and dest ip in the frame is empty)
q4) If multiple devices from different subnets (e.g. device a,b are from subnet ab, device c,d are from subnet cd) are connected to the same switch, are they still technically consider to be in the same broadcast domain ?
q4.1) I would assume that an arp request is a L2 broadcast am i right ? and it will affect all the devices above (a,b,c,d) despite them being in different subnet . e.g. [src mac a.b.c.d] [dst mac f.f.f.f] [src ip 192.168.1.1] [dst ip 192.68.1.10], am i right ?
q4.2) Above arp request is a L2 broadcast with specific L3 destination address but L2 broadcast address,
Is there any example on L3 broadcast (255.255.255.255) which have specific L2 destination mac address ?
q5) if mutiple devices from different subnets are connected to the same switch, is there any possibilities that frames from one subnet will inter-cross to devices on other subnet beside L2 broadcast ? Is there any other impact ?

I agree with LowLister, the best option for you to share the video online is to upload it to your online storage account for example : Box, Dropbox, SkyDrive (All of them provide free storage beginning from 2GB).
You can upload the files which you want to share in this online storage and then they have sharing options in which you'll will get the link of the file to be sent and send the email. You're good to go!
Tip : You can store multiple files for backup purposes.

Broadcast and non-broadcast SSID issues with iPhones and iPads

We have a CIsco wireless infrastructure configured with a public broadcasted ssid and a private non-broadcast ssid that we are experiencing issues with the iPads and iPhones. The iPad or iPhone will switch between both ssids if defined but keep the original IP address when it switches to the non-broadcast ssid making it unusable. It shouldn't be switching at all technically. If the non-broadcast ssid is defined only on the iPhone or iPad, the broadcast ssid pops up and starts asking for authentication information. I have Cisco looking into this but I'm quite sure this is an Apple bug. Any other device works fine. We are currently using version 4.3.5(8L2) on the iPads and iPhones. I do know that if we broadcast both SSIDS, the issue goes away, but I don't want to do that. Although it doesn't really add any more security, it just isn't advertised, so most people won't see it and avoids a lot of questions. Hopefully there's a simple solution.

Hi,
->Create and save a workbook
->Open the created workbook in the in the Bex Analyzer
->go to Bex Analysis Toolbox and click on Tools button
->Login to the IB page to create settings
->create a new setting by giving the appropriate e-mail id
->In the Texts tab give the subject and Text
->Provide the variable and server details
->click on schedule and give appropriate date and time.

Broadcast online link by Email : How to remove automatically inserted text

It's been a month I've been working on broadcasting, and I am starting to get skilled on it , or at least, I am starting to get very precise needs ...
I am broadcasting email with online link inserted into it.
At the end of the mail body, SAP inserts the online link (which makes sense ...), on which you have no control, but also inserts Broadcasting administration link, saying (in french) :
"Le lien suivant permet à l'expéditeur de cet e-mail ou à un administrateur de diffusion de modifier la liste des destinataires : http://"
I heard you could remove it, but how ?

Are you trying to change the language which user can understand ?? If this being the case in the receipent tab page of information broadcasting , there is a checkbox "User specific" , it takes user profile data into account and accordingly try to translate data into language which user understands.

I want to assign variable in broadcasting dynamically. For example, this variable will be changed every month. I tried to set the variant on BEx Analyzer, and looked into the table TVARV, but I couldn't find my variant in that table. Is there any way to assign variable dynamically?

1. while creating your Broadcasting Settings ... you can use your Variable for OLAP Cache.
    Question1. How and where can I use variable for OLAP Cache in broadcasting. What I just see is variable assignment in the General Precalculation tab
    Question2. Variable for OLAP Cache you said is the same as the variable created in Query Designer, right?
2. then you make sure the variable in Bex is setup with "Ready for input" unchecked
    Question1. I have to allow users to input month to see the report in the month they want, so I think I can't default the value for this variable.

Issue with Information broadcasting and pre-cal server in SAP BI

Hi Experts,
I have issue with information Broadcasting and Pre-cal server. I have a worrkbook whcih runs from information broadcasting in pre-cal server. Workbook is desinged on single query and workbook contains visual basic code. workbook has a variable which is controlled by Control query in information broadcasting.
I have 20 employees every month I need to send workbook via e-mail from information broadcasting. The problem is sometimes all 20 employees will recieve e-mails and sometimes not. I identified there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
because after workbook calculation in pre-cal server is not pushing to SOST so there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
I closely observed pre-cal server front end log. There are few operations performing on workbook in pre-cal server
like Open workbook, Calculate workbook, Save woorkbook and close workbook. In success case pre-cal sever is performing all the operations but in failure case pre-cal server is missing Close workbook case.

I went into RSPRECADMIN and clicked on 'Display Current Queue'. There we have 3 sections
1) Queue Overview of Open Precalculations
I can see this section is always blank after running IB also
2) Queue Overview of Current Precalculations
In this section I can see an entry after running IB and duration is changing. but some time workbook in this section will never processed but the duration column is changing may be something is happening at this stage.
If the entry is not proccessed in this section and IB SM37 job will never end. I manually cancelled the job from SM50.
Don't why the workbook is taking long time and will never end even though I cancelled the SM37 IB job.
3) Queue Overview of Proccessed Error-Free Precalculations
All the error free workbooks which means all pre-cal server completed workbook calculation and sent to SOST.
I manually ran the workbook for all the 20 employees I can't find any pop-up message (earlier we have pop-up windows appearing because of VB code and when report returns no data and we fixed the pop-up issues)
Can you please help me further to trace the error.

Broadcast and point to point server in the same port

I'm trying to set up a system where I can send point to point messages via sockets to certain ips, send broadcast messages to every pc in the network, and also be able to listen for point to point messages and broadcast messages, all in the same port. I've been able to establish a point to point connection using the Socket class to send the message, and using the ServerSocket class to listen for messages, but I can't seem to get broadcasting to work.
I read somewhere that for broadcasting one should use the DatagramSocket class. The problem is i'm not sure which ip i'm supposed to specify when I send the message. Also, do I need a special listener to listen for broadcast messages, or will the ServerSocket listener work for that?
This is what I have for the broadcasting part:

It worth mentioning that UDP/broadcast and robust do go together easily.
- UDP does not guarantee delivery. i.e. messages can be dropped and you won't be told. Lost packets are not retransmitted either.
- UDP can fragment packets if larger than 532 bytes long.
- UDP packets can arrive out of order (though I have never seen this myself)
If your receiver is under load/busy it can miss many packets if its buffers overflow.

Receive broadcasted reports from generic email address

Hello All,
I am currently sending out a report to the business using broadcaster.
The users receive an email and within it finds the report attached as a PDF - everyone is happy...
Everyone except me because the email received by the business user says that I am the sender, (i.e. sent from: myname @ someco.co.uk)!
This means that the business believe that I am the first point of contact for issues relating to the figures in the report.
Can anyone explain why this occurs? Is it becuase I created the report and set up the broadcast?
We have a helpdesk and actualy all such queries from the business should be sent to the helpdesk mail box e.g. IThelp @ someco.co.uk)
So, I would like to ask you all for solutions to deliver the report in such a way that the "sent from" is no longer myname @ someco.co.uk. It should be IThelp @ someco.co.uk.

Hi,
Check in SU01D your user id. Change the mail id to help desk id and also the 'Format' field data to help desk. Going forward the broadcasting will not have your id.
Else the better option is to create a generic user id for broadcasting and setup the mail and other details as required.

Broadcaster and DSS not happy together

If I install Broadcaster I can get it to work but if I then install Darwin Streaming Server I cannot launch Broadcaster as a stand alone app and the broadcaster functionality in DSS is dead.
What's going on?

I have replaced my Optical drive with an SSD too. My original optical drive is in a USB enclosure. I am trying to load Win7 Pro 64bit with boot camp. The assistant created the partition but after the reboot, it would not start the Win7 disk (new and tested working on a PC). I got an Apple logo and alternating stop sign. If I reboot and hold down the option key, choose the OS X HD, it will boot back to the main system.
I was able to again boot with theo ption key, choose EFI and hit any key to boot from the DVD (external). It started loading Windows files but at the end of the progress bar, it just stopped. I left it for 20+ minutes, no joy
I have not installed rEFIt yet. I have heard mixed results.
Seems the problem is trying to install Win7 from an external device. This is just nuts.
I will post another questions specifically asking if rEFIt will fix the problem.

ISight and QT Broadcasting

Okay, I have my iSight and I want to setup a QT Broadcast. I have looked for a tutorial on this and can't seem to find anything. I have QTB work and I can see the video. When I click broadcast I get
Broadcast Error
Disconnected (-3285)
Can anyone help me out or point me to a detailed tutorial on iSight and QT Broadcasts.

Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password. On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo.
