BEx Broadcasting in portal PDF format thrugh Query designer

hi,
i have a problem in sending a query as a mail using broadcaster in pdf format through portal
The steps to reproduce:
from Query designer executing a query , it takes me to portal screen, there right click on the report and Broadcast and Export->Broadcast Email..Then a new window opens with BEx broad caster. From that  if i select the Tab Information Broadcasting, there is a Description :No BW object selected, select a template ,Query or a workbook. "  If i open Setting Web Template Tab: and if i  select from HIstory 0BROADCAST_TEMPLATE70 or Stanard Web Template for Broadcasting>Transfer-->then i am getting the new window as Distribution Type: 1.Broadcast Emai 2. Broadcast to portal.. , And Output type1.MHTML 2.HTML 3. Online Link to Current Data.
But i am not getting  Output Format "PDF",
guide me what to do to get the PDF option as OutputFormat.
where i am getting these  options in Query designer itself Query-->Publish. but not in portal when calling portal through query designer by executing a query..
Thanks in advance

  • Exception when using BEx Broadcaster on output PDF/Excel

    Hi all,
    I've a BI system (ABAP & Java) on different servers - SP12.
When I try to send a query with Output Format other than "Outer link to CurrentData" (ie. PDF/Excel) through the BEx Broadcaster I get
"Java system error: call FM_RSRD_X_PRODUCE_PROXY to ProgId <RFC Destination name> on host <portal server name> with SSO not authorized: Authentication faild."
If I try to run 'FM_RSRD_X_PRODUCE_PROXY' directly through SE37 I don't get an error.
I have the latest "Diagnostics & Support Tool" and everything is Green when I do the check.
SSO if configured from Portal to BW (if I go the the BI Master system and do 'Test connector' I get 'success').
Moreover, if SSO wasn't configured then I would get an error when trying to access the BI roles (My ModelData JCO destinations uses ticket)
The user I'm testing has '0BI_ALL'.

    Solved it on my own.
The sso from Java->ABAP was OK
I reconfigured the sso from ABAP->JAVA by creating new ABAP certificate and import it to the J2EE.

  • How to broadcast reports in pdf format

    Hello Experts,
I am running reports on the web and I need to broadcast report via email in the pdf format. I do not see the option of pdf at all in the braodcasting tabl. Here's what I am doing. I right click on the report and click Broadcast -and Export > Broadcast E-mail -> Information Broadcasting tab -> Settings query -> choose the query i want to broadcast -> select the option broadcast e-mail and when I select the output format , it only shows me MHTML, HTML and Online Link to Current Data. But it does not show me the pdf option. We do have the free pdf connected to the sap server. Please let me know what I should do to get it in the pdf format.
    Thanks
    Sruthi

    Hello,
There are two possible reasons for this issue:
    1st:
You are using the old BExBroadcaster.
ONLY BExBroadcaster 7.0 is able to broadcast on PDF format.
    2nd:
If you are already using BExBroadcaster 7.0, the PDF output format is suppressed.
You can manage this on the following table:
    > RSRD_OUTFORM
Check this table and remove the FLAG 'x' on SUPRESS column of PDF OUTFORM.
    Best Regards,
    Edward John

  • BEx Variable defined in BI 7.0 Query Designer and using in BW 3.5 Analyzer

    Hi,
I have defined a variable in BI 7.0 Query designer for a characteristic which is present in characteristic restrictions area to restrict it . Ideally when that query is executed a pop up box should be opened to enter a value of the variable. But when that query is opened in BW 3.5 BEx Analyzer, instead of pop up box the error message " Error specify a value for the Variable ' Variable Name '  " has been displayed. Please help me to resolve this problem
    <i><b>Details of Variable:</b></i>
    Type: Characteristic Value
    Processed by: Manual Entry/Default Value
    Variable is : Mandatory
    and Ready for input
No default values are defined for this variable.
    Thanks
    Hari Prasad.

    Hi,
Once a query opened and changed in the BI7.0 query designer u can not use the same query in lower version.
Thats the reason the error message coming.
If u need the 3.5 query just keep as it is , and copy the same query in different name and open it in the BI7.0 and do the changes.
    Thanks,

  • Publishing query in the portal is disbaled in query designer!

    Hi,
i had created a new query and now i want to publish this query in the portal!
But the option is grayed out in the query designer.
And my query does not have any role so far! i do not have authorization to create a role either
is it because the query is not included in any role that this option is grayed out? i guess the role relavaent to query will be migrated.  ( to Portal and hence publishing the query in the portal option is grayed out )
Even if i could make the role with the authorizations , how could i make the role migrated to Portal
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • Number Format in Query Designer

    Hi,
I have changed the properties of key figure to 6 decimal places from 2 decimals in the Infoobject Properties. But in Query designer it is still displayed as (from key figure 0.00).
As i have mentioned 6 decimal places in the key figure , why it is still displayed as 2 decimal places in the Query Designer.
    regards,
    Anita

    Hi Pradip,
I have selected as  "from Key figure 0.00" in Query Designer. In key figure properties I have changed the data type to Fltp & in additional propertied I have set it to 6 decimal places.
Now when i execute the Queries still it is showing me only 2 decimal places instead of 6.
if i set it manually to 6 its working fine.but i dont want to do this , as i need to change it more then 100 queries.

  • Variant for Control Query on Bex Broadcaster Filter

I am trying to create a Bex Broadcaster setting on a query via query designer (query -->Publish --> Bex Broadcaster). In the Filter Navigation Tab, I want include a filter using a control query with variants. My control query has a variable that is set to (single value, mandatory, manual input) and i created a variant for the control query on the web. I am able to create the Bex Broadcaster setting and enter my control query but when I go enter the variant it always gives me "No selections available".
Another issue that i am having is - when I try to create a filter on a characterisitc in the Bex Broadcaster and give mulitple values in the filter, it ends up generating seperate excel files (distribution type is e-mail) for each value in the filter. Is there any way i can consolidate all these results and get it to generate on single file?

1st : no wanswer by now.
2nd : don't filter in the Broadcastsetting, filter in the Broadcastquery to avoid a broadcast for every filter value.

  • BEx Broadcaster Send button - No Broadcast Wizard with Key Figures in Rows

Working in BI 7.0 SP 16, we are having an issue with BEx Broadcaster.  For a typical horizontal query (key figures in columns), the send button in BEx on the Portal works properly and returns the Broadcasting Wizard.  However, when using a query in a vertical format (key figures in rows), the window opended by the send button displays the "spinning wheel" and never procceds on to the Broadcasting Wizard.
I have checked for SAP notes related to BEx Broadcaster and was not able to find anything relevant.
The same query was tested with the key figures in columns and in rows.  The Broadcast Wizard comes up when the key figures are in columns, but not in rows.  Since it was tested both ways with the same query, I am assuming that the issue is related to the orientation (horizontal vs. vertical).
Has anyone else run into this issue?  Is there a known limitation, or a patch available?  Does anyone have a BI system with a query you could flip the key figures from columns to rows and give it a try?
    thanks,
    -Shawn

    Shawn,
I'm having my own issues with BEx Broadcaster in the Portal, but from BEx Query Designer - Query - Publish - BEx Broadcaster, the BEx Broadcaster Wizard is available in both cases (Key figures in columns and key figures in rows).

  • SSO with Query Designer

    Hi all,
I need to add a link to SAP Query Designer in Portal that will launch Query Designer using SSO.
We have SSO with R/3 and with BI already implemented (the user will click on the link and launch SAP GUI without having to type username/password), but we don't know how to do that for Query Designer.
Can anyone help us? Is there any documentation on the subject that we didn't find?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

Apparently there needs to be some kind of certificate to add.
    Anyone know anything about this?
