Bex Broadcasting settings for a PDF Layout

Hi,
I had a Query with Area and Department as Free Chars.
My requirement is to send a ONE PDF file with KFs at Area(Columns) and KF's at Department(columns) on a daily basis to users ....
So i generated 2 views V1 with Area information and V2 with Department information.
I developed a Web Template with 2 data providers DP1=V1 & DP2=V2 which are used for 2 Analysis items.
when i executed the template is can see 2 information items area and department. As i got nearly 30 departments in template it is appearing as pages that i can navigate.
When i scheduled the same template using Bex Braodcasted ...and i got a email as an attachment.
But in the PDF attachment  the initial results are so small...that i need to magnify.
But my requirment is to split the results in multiple pages so the users don't require to magnify it
How and where can i make this settings
Thanks

Hmmm. no problem, but I'm not sure where to post this... I think everything gets Distilled and that's part of Acrobat. I don't see a Distiller Forum....
I'll try a Photoshop..?...
Thanks

  • BEx broadcasting: Font types in pdf-documents

    Hi folks,
I got a report designed in BEx report designer. In this report I use certain font types. However, when I broadcast this report to our SAP Netweaver Portal as pdf these font types get lost, i.e. the texts in the generated pdf-documents are in other fonts. Do I have to install these fonts on our system? If so, how can this be done? Where can I see the current standard fonts on our system?
    Thanks in advance!
    Thomas

    Dear Thomas,
After creating a report in Report Designer, just go to Report->Execute.
This will open that report in Web Analyzer.Just check whether your font types are shown as you configured in the report.
If this works as expected, then you will get a report with configured fonts, after you broadcasted into portal.
Make sure that you made teh following settings for the report while broadcasting
Distribution Type : Broadcast to the Portal
    Output Format : PDF
    Under "General Precalculation" tab,
    Portal Theme: SAP Standard
    Proper "Layout" tab options.
    Hope this will help you.
Please revert me in case of any clarifications.

  • Help in Finding BEx Broadcasting Settings

We recently refreshed our Sandbox environment with a copy of our Dev environment.  We use Information Broadcasting.  When someone opens a Workbook in BEx in our Sandbox environment and clicks "Distribute Workbook", they are prompted with the Broadcaster logon screen for our Dev environment and not Sandbox.  This makes sense, since we copied our Dev environment.  How do we change the settings so that the Broadcaster connects to Sandbox?  Thanks.

    Hi,
You need to make changes in SPRO to maintain Broadcasting Settings .

  • Quartz filter settings for compressing pdf file

I have used the nominal quartz filter setting (reduce file size) to compress pdf file.  It reduced the file
size significantly--but the text resolution was considerably blurred.
What is an appropriate setting to reduce pdf file size and not destroy the test resolution ?

    See if this helps...

  • Setting margins for "Create PDF from Clipboard"

I'm posting this because I could not find another question that dealt with my problem directly, but after A LOT of searching, and a few failed attempts, I did find the solution.
Problem: When creating a PDF from content copied to the clipboard from a webpage, everything on the page was way off-center, with almost no left margin.
Once the PDF was created, since there is no easy way to adjust page margins, the only way to center everything would have been one page at a time (for 24 pages), by dragging the page contents manually to the center of the page. I tried using the "Set Page Boxes" function, but I ended up with 24 blank pages. Yes, I could export the PDF as a Word document, and then reprint that Word document as a PDF, but I knew there had to be a simpler way.
Solution: When you create a PDF from a clipboard containing text (or in the case of the above document, text and images), Acrobat uses the settings for "Create PDF from Web Page."
Unfortunately, if you look up Convert clipboard content to PDF in Acrobat Help, it doesn't tell you that. AND the settings for "Create PDF from Web Page" are NOT included in the list of settings under Preferences > Convert to PDF. There is an HTML option in that list, but there are no editable settings for that file type (There are actually quite a few such file types listed there, and my question is, if there are no editable settings, why are they even listed under Preferences?). Batch Conversion of Text Files also uses the same settings.
So, here's how to do it:
Select File > Create > PDF from Web Page
    Click on Settings
To adjust the default margins for new PDF files created from a clipboard containing text, select the Page Layout tab, and adjust the margins to your liking. Notice how small the Default right and left margins are... hence my problem.
Click on OK to save your new settings, and the simply Cancel out of the "Create PDF from Web Page" dialog box. If you read this page, it says you have to actually create at least one PDF file using the "Create PDF from Web Page" dialog in order for your settings to stick, but I never did, and my settings were saved just fine.
If you're copying basic text (or converting text files), that's all there is to it.
With web page content, there could still be a problem (as there was with this web page), if the content you've selected is not the full width of the web page. I think this has to do with the fact that web pages often use Content Style Sheets to format their page elements, and those styles are transferred when you copy that content to the clipboard. The PDF page margins are technically correct now, as you can see by the position of the image at the top of the page, but the text portion (at the bottom of the page) of the PDF only fills the same percentage of the text area (between the margins) as it did on the web page.
The only solution I have found if this happens, is to export the PDF as a Word document, and adjust the margins there. In the document I was working with in these examples, there were boatloads of different invisible subsections to the document, and each subsection had different settings for right and left indent, fonts, font sizes, etc., so there was a lot more to it than a simple 'copy & paste' type of procedure. Once I corrected all the different elements (and this one had a whole lot of weirdness going on), and then printed it as a new PDF, everything looked much better.
Hopefully this helps someone else find their answer much easier than I found mine
And of course, comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for asking. Yes, with either the Crop tool or the Set Page Boxes tool, I could trim the page just fine, removing the excess from the right side, but as soon as I tried to add space to the left side, it just blanked out the whole page. It seemed like it should have worked, and maybe on a simple text file it would have. But that particular array of content proved to be most troublesome.
I also could have just cropped the page down to 6.5 x 11, and then centered it when I printed it.
My primary goal in searching for the answer, and my main reason for posting this, was for setting the margins for future documents (and to help others find those settings, too). Since I still had the web address, I could easily recreate the PDF once I figured out how to set the margins. Of course I didn't realize that there would still be problems once I got the settings right. Like I said, that particular web page seemed to have several unique difficulties.

    Hi,
Trying a 'Find' in the 'Web Application Designer', for this template.
If not available, go to 'RSA1', 'BI Content', choose 'BEX Web Template' and double-click on 'Select Objects'. The template should be here.
Highlight and 'Transfer Selections' and you will install the template.
    Now try your broadcasting again.
If it still does not work, you will need to go via 'SPRO' - just reply and I will explain if the first part above does not solve it.
    Thanks

  • Broadcast Settings

    Hi
I have a process chain that kicks off a "Trigger Event Data Change"  for an infoprovider, I have several broadcast settings for a  web template which uses a query based on this infoprovider. When I first ran it, all the settings executed perfectly, about 2 days later some executed while others fell over with an error, the problem is everytime I run it some of the settings work while others fail but never the same ones fail, but there is always a failiure, the error message I get back is,
    *Error: java.lang.NullPointerException*
I get this for each setting that fails.
The BEX Query is fine and when run on its own runs fine, the same with the WAD. The error only happens with the broadcast setting.
Anyone ever have the same problem? Thanks for the help.
    Regards

  • Is Broadcasting Settings Transportable?

    Hello friends,
I am working on Broadcasting Information from SAP Netweaver Enterprise Portal.
I am working in BW DEVELOPMENT SERVER and i have created broadcasting settings for a query and i have successfully broadcasted the reports to different users.
My question is i want to do it in BW PRODUCTION SERVER .I know that  we can transport queries or workbooks from DEVELOPMENT SERVER TO QUALITY AND FROM THEIR TO BW PRODUCTION SERVER.
We will do all the Broadcasting settings for a query in BW DEVELOPMENT SERVER.Is it possible to transport BROADCASTING SETTINGS from BW DEVELOPMENT SERVER TO BW PRODUCTION SERVER?
                      If so,how to transport?
Shall we directly do all the settings in BW PRODUCTION SERVER instead of transporting it from DEVELOPMENT TO PRODUCTION?
Please, send me the relevant answer. It's very urgent.
    Thanks
    Mohan chand Reddy A

    Hi,
    Transporting Broadcast Settings
To make the broadcast settings available in various BI systems, transport them.
If the transport system is activated, a dialog box for specifying a transport request appears when you save the broadcast settings. Enter the required transport request.
If a fixed standard BEx transport request is specified, the broadcast settings are automatically written to this request and the transport request dialog box is not displayed.
The technical name of the object type (TLOGO) for broadcast settings in transport requests is BRSE.
    Thanks

  • Broadcasting Settings: Workbook Precalc. Variable Sequence

    Dear all,
does anybody know how it is possible to change the sequence of the variables for the pre-calculation in the Broadcaster settings for distributing a Workbook with different Queries?
    Thanks a lot
    Dieter

the sequence can be determined in the query level.
but if multiple query user in workbook or web template, there is a logic defined in a note 1060735.
regarding workbook Note 1416277 is describing a error correction.
