BEX BROWSER in latest BI version

Hi All,
Currently we are upgrading from 3.0B version to the latest BI 7.0 Netweaver 2004 version
I need some help .Currently we use the BEX Browser to deploy Excel queries to the general users. In the new version, the BEX Browser is no longer supported it seems. Can anyone give me any idea about the best way to deploy excel queries to the general users.

BEx Broadcaster is send reports to users e-mail and for precalculating web templates.BI usuage type EP is the replacement for BEx Browser.Webtemplates created in New WAD or migrated from 3.5 version can be attached as iView to a role in portal.I advice to have a look in the below below

The latest Safari(version 8.0) required Yosemite, and Safari package is included it.

Bex browser in NW04s

Hi All,
SAP recommends that there will be no need to use BEx browser in BI 7.0(NW04s). BEx browser can be accessed using Portal. Does anybody know how to replicate BEx browser in Portal. I have tried using 'Role upload' option. But not all features of BEx browser come up. Any other solution to this problem. Please help.

Report not running in BEx browser and RSRT in production

Hi All,
For one of the report I am getting very different error in production system. I am able to run the query in BEx analyser but when tried to run in Bex browser this gives error and terminates the report. When tried to run through RSRT it gives error and shows that some charcteristics are removed from infocube. This means it is using some very previous version of query. But afterwards the query was changed and transported to production. Still why am I getting this error.
As if the RSRT is accessing the old query and it is not refreshed the new one. If checked in designer it shows the latest query there. Can anybody suggest what could be the issue here?

Actually if we make a new query and save as then it works but this query doesnt work. The transport is ok. No error just warning is there.
I tried the delet old ABAP and generate query but still geting the same error. Can you tel me what this delete old ABAP does.
When execyted the query it goes to debug mode and some code is executed and if we check the dump is shows RAISE EXCEPTION and error in some SAR...RT19 program.
Please suggest if any idea.

I am freelancer. When I tried to upload files on elance it give following error and disable the upload button:using one of the supported browser with latest Adobe flash is required to experience enhanced file upload features.
All plugins are up to date. Flash version 11.7 installed.

Some sites may be mistakenly identifying Firefox 20 as Firefox 2, which is a very old version they probably no longer support. As a test, you could "lie" to the site about your Firefox version and see whether that little deception works.
This take a minute to set up. Here's how:
(1) Select and copy the following preference name to the clipboard:
general.useragent.override.elance''.''com
(2) In a new tab or window, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(3) In the filter box, type '''override''' and pause while the list is filtered
(4) Make sure '''general.useragent.site_specific_overrides''' is set to its default value of true (or right-click and choose Reset if it is not).
(5) Right-click anywhere in the preference list area and choose
New > String
then paste the preference name you copied. Click OK and enter TEMP or asdf or any text as a temporary placeholder. You should see the preference added in bold. Leave about:config open and switch back to this tab.
(6) Select and copy the following useragent string to the clipboard ''(it's all one line)'':
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0
(That's Firefox 19 on Windows 7 32-bit)
(7) In about:config, double-click '''general.useragent.override.elance''.''com''' and paste to replace the temporary text with the new useragent string. Click OK, you're done here.
Now try reloading a page where you need to upload (use Ctrl+Shift+r) and test that function again. Any change?

Bex Browser layout changes

Hello Gurus,
We are using BeX browser [3.x version] as a launching pad for our BW queries. In one of the application area's, we have a main role and within that 3 sub-roles. The layout of these sub-roles and the reprts under them in the browser are as follows. Role 1 is present in the left hand top corner of the browser. Role 2 is in the right hand top corner while Role 3 is below role 2 in the right hand side. Now Role 2 has got many reports under it and it so happens that the reports in the role 2 overflow and merge with the reports in Role 3 in the browser. The users now find it difficultto launch those reports at the bottom of Role2 & on the top of Role 3 as they appear mergerd together.
Now we were able to move Role 3 to appear under Role 1 in our development system [the browser in our production system is locked for changes] and were able to save it. But my question is, how do I move this change from Development to Production? I don't find any option to create a transport request in the browser.
Do I need to save the main role in a transport request, then make the changes in the browser and save it? Will my changes to the browser layout be saved in a TR if I do the above steps?

BEx Browser Issue

Hi All,
I need help on a issue which users are facing in BEx Browser. I wasn't able to find any older threads for this issue, hence I have created this thread.
After a user logs into the BEx Browser, the application crashes without any error messages. Has anyone faced this issue before? If so, how was this resolved.
The version being used in the system is SAP BW 3.x. Please let me know what other information would be required.

Thanks for your reply and your suggestion, but the solution provided in the SAP Note seems to be for a system wide issue. Where as the issue we are facing seems to be happening for a few users only.
Authorization too doesn't seem to be the problem, as
1. some user with same authorizations don't face this issue, and
2. the users who do face this issue can see the logged in browser screen before the application crashes.
Can we generalize this as a problem with a front-end?

BEx Browser Not available in my system

We have GUI of 7.10. version and Bex 3.X. I am able to find Bex Browser in other system of my friends.But it is not avaible in my system.
What would be the Reason?
We have support package 22.

Hi,
When you install "BW 3.50 Add-On for SAP GUI 7.10",it will install Browser (SAP BW 3.x) under Business Explorer(SAP BW 3.x).If you couldn't find it,please uninstall and reinstall the BW 3.5.
The BW 3.5 patch 8 in SAP GUI 7.10 is released to the SMP now and is available for download.You can try with this.

   Can I still use the BEx Browser (Windows Version) in SAP NetWeaver BI
2004s?
   The BEx Browser is on maintenance. There are no new features
developed and the tool is phased out. You can still use it in NW 2004s BI for
queries, templates and workbooks developed with the 3.x BEx Tools and for
queries, templates and workbooks developed with the new NW2004s BEx Tools.
However it is not recommended. SAP recommends to use the Portal infrastructure
of NetWeaver as a user- and role-specific single point of entry for BI
users.
Can you please clarify us below points on Bex browser or direct us where
we can find this information.
1) SAP recommends to use the Portal Infrastructure inplace of Bex
browser ( as explained above in FAQ). Does this mean, we need to install the portal components .
2) Is Bex browser runs on NW 2004s without 3.x runtime (i.e without ABAP
runtime) or do we need to have ABAP runtime.
3) Is there any time frame for phasing out Bex browser.

The BEx Browser is still available and works, but SAP recommends not to use it because it is fairly dated technology.
1. If you're on SAP NetWeaver 2004s, you will have 4 usage types installed: AS-ABAP, AS-JAVA, BI-JAVA, and EP. You cannot run 04s without the portal. So if you don't install the portal components, you can't use any new features or functionality. This is explained in lots of details in the FAQ: http://service.sap.com/bifaq
2. BEx Browser is a client based tool. Workbooks are launched in the respective BEx Analyzer you have flagged as your default, but again, it isn't recommended to use it.
3. No specific time frame, but again, it isn't recommended to use it.

II tried to update to the latest Firefox version, but I'm told to close open Mozilla windows, then I'm asked if I want to cancel the update, how do I bypass this?

I am no longer able to open Firefox browser windows. So I went through Internet Explorer to the Firefox website. I attempted to download the latest free version of Firefox. I followed the steps to install it but then a dialog box appears prompting me to close Firefox so the installation can be completed. The only way to get out of the dialog box is to agree to cancel the update. So, how do I complete the updating process?

Saving Variant on BEx Browser

Hi All,
We are using 3.5 version. In Analyzer when you open up a query, you have an option of saving the Variant screen so when you open the query again you can load the same variants by clicking there. Do we have that choice in BEx Browser to save the variant while accessing it from Browser? And if yes then how do we do that? FYI we have 3.5 BEx browser.

Hello,
Bex Browser is for arranging queries and related objects.
Once you execute it opens the underlying query or view etc...
once the query is executed you can provide the variant on the selection screen.

I tried to drag the new version to the trash but the old version still runs error message and will not open. I did not try to restart with the new version in the trash.

You Restore from iTune Backup.The syncing is towards the end of the Restore.
1. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Select Network and input Password>Join
9. Enable Location Service>Next
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Select Restore from iTune Backup
12. You will see picture of USB cable pointing towards iPad
13. Connect iPad to iTune (make sure iTune is on standby)
14. Tap Continue (computer)
15. Restore iPad from Backup (computer)
16. See progress bar with estimated time (computer)
17. See Restore in Progress on iPad
18. See Apple logo
19. See Apple and Progress Bar
20. Slide to Unlock
21. Copying Apps back to iPad (computer)
