BEx deafult web template

Hi All,
I have to desgin a web template. When we first run the query from the Bex analyzer and launch on the browser , I want to maintain the same style. With different tabs for Data Analysis , Graphical display , information and information broadcasting . And links to exception , conditions and on the access to rows , columns and free characteristics.
On top of that I just want to add the role menu , which I can drag and drop from the web items in the Web App Desginer.
I want to know , how can I get that default BEx template , so that I can insert this role menu in that and make it work for me.
I tried the 0QUERY_TEMPLATE , I the code from the system by running a program RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN , but the problem is I only get the toolbar , which is not what I want.
I want the whole default template. I hope I am making myself clear. Can some one guide me.
Thanks

Hi Amanda,
You can try this link:

  • Error when changing default web-template

    Hello experts,
I´m facing the following problem and I don´t know what to do:
I´ve created a new web template in WAD 7.0 and set it as deafult web template for ad-hoc analysis in transaction SPRO.
When I want to execute a query in web e.g. from the Query Designer 7.0 I get an error loading web template (brain 276 / "template not found in master system").
I´ve already checked note 1014795, but it doesn´t help, because I don´t want to start the template with RSRT or iView in Portal. I want to use my template as default template for BEx 7.0.
    Any idea??
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Retain variable values across web templates during a web session

    Hi all,
How can we let web template get variable values from another template's variable values so as to keep the same entry values as previous report run?
For example 0vendor has a variable (for single, mandory) used in all  vendor related web templates. "vendor1" was entered for the second template.
I tried to use "SET/GET PARAMETER" in variable user exit. It works in BI with RSRT,  but it doesn't work with Bex or Web template. Looks like web session is not sync with the ABAP stack.
How about using cookie? How to create/reset cookie in variable user exit? Can we get variable values from web server memory or user session data?
    Please share your thought !
    Thanks for helping!
    David

    Hi Arun,
All the web templates are randomly run by user, there are no set of templates run after one template. Any templates can run after any other web template.
Basically we link  web templates with portal menu items. any report can be run by any sequence. The thing the new report need to take the previous selection values from common variables.

  • Bex iView does not show changes made in web templates

    Hello,
I have a Bex iView that presents a web template which is exposed in two portals.
I made a certain change in the web template in portal A and I can see the change through the Bex iView in this portal.
I than transfered the change to portal B and I can see this change at the Web application designer's code when it is connected to portal B.
The problem is that I can't see the change through the Bex iView in portal B, it keeps presenting the old version of the web template. Also, if I preview it from WAD, which opens it in the portal, it shows the old version as well.
    <b>I've already tried/verified the following:</b>
    1. It's not a client related issue as it happens to all clients.
    2. I have tried clearing both the client and the portal's pcd caches.
    3. No cache whatsoever is configured in this iView's properties (Cache Level: None, Cache Validity Period: 0,0,0,-1, Allow Client-Side Caching: No).
    4. When I run the iView in debug mode in the application integrator I can't see anything unusual I can think of. Also, I can see there that it points to the correct web template.
    5. Retransported the web template from server A to server B.
What else can be done here? Any ideas...?

    Hello,
did you resolve your problem ?

  • How to set default Web Template for BEx Query iViews in Portal?

    Hi,
    1) In SPRO you can set the Standard Web Template used, e.g. ZANALYSIS_PATTERN1.
    2) I published a query to Portal and when it runs within Portal, I want it to use a different web template, say ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2.
I don't want to change the BEx Web Application Query String property for each iView to hardcode the template e.g. to "QUERY=TestQuery1&TEMPLATE=ZANALYSIS_PATTERN2"
I only want the query name in the iView
Can I set this somewhere in Portal?  I tried changing the standard "BEx Web Analyzer" iView as mentioned in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/33/39fa40ee14f26fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm (BEx Web Application or Query as iView in the Portal)
but it still seems to take the template from SPRO even after restarting J2EE

    Hi,
I don't think anyone is holding back knowledge, I think it's sometimes difficult to filter out "good" questions as opposed to "bad" questions...
In any case, I don't think it's possible to have different default templates, eg one for the portal and one for the "rest". I'm afraid you'll have to either change each one on the portal or use one for all.
    Cheers,
    Dion

(I just published this question in Portal forum but I think it belongs here instead since it is BI Portal - apologies for the double-post..)

D Nore did you found the way to do it ?
I still have the issue, whatever the place where I force the template, the queries on the portal does not use my specific template.
    I tried :
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer
(this one was working before upgrade to netweaver stack 17).
    as well as
    pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bw_report_iview
    and
    pcd:portal_content/templates/iviews/sap_bi7x_report_iview
    none works !

  • Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates

    Hello,
when opening the web application designer or calling a web template in the browser the error Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates occours. I found several hints in the forum like solving the problem with the SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & SupportDesk Tool and several notes for this issue (like 937697). Unfortunately nothing works and the diagnostics tool says that everything is configured fine. The release is 701, SP4.
Has someone suggestions where to start searching the error?
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi Vanessa,
Which JAVA patch are you using?
Is it possible to download the latest patches and re-test the problem? You may find that the latest patch corrects the roblem

  • Call a web template with default parameter in  BEx Web Application D

In BEx Web Application Designer, As in traditional way. Assume that I have a query which have parameters. When I create a web template using this query and excute it. the first page is displayed and I should input the parameters at this page(for example: "Period/Fiscal"). after I input the data and press Enter key. the <b>reporting page</b> is displayed.
And Now I hope I can run the template at another way: the template should <b>direct go to the reporting page</b> with the preset parameters (for example: "Period/Fiscal = 2005.006").
    thanks

    Hi,
Alternatively you may use command URL, to enforce the variable value during calling up the web template. For example:
    http://yourAppServer:yourPort/SAP/BW/BEx?CMD=LDOC&template_id=yourTemplate&var_name_1=myParameterVariable&var_value_ext_1=4711
In the implementation you may create a web template that redirect the URL to above reporting link, so the user will directly see your reporting page.
For detail you may check in the WAD documentation.
    Hope this helps.

  • Setting up Default web template for BeX 7.0 queries.

    Hi Experts,
I am running a web-report based on a query created using Query Designer 7.0. I have a default web-template that I have been using for BeX 3.x queries [which has been created using WAD 3.X] and I tried to set the same template as default for the BeX 7.0 in SPRO>SAP Netweaver>Business Intelligence>Settings for Reporting and Analysis>BeX Web>Set Standard Web Templates>Ad Hoc Analysis.
But I can't see the changes being reflected in the web report after I made the change.I still see that the default template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN is being used. Can we set a web template created using WAD 3.x as the default template for 7.0 Queries? If yes, do I need to do something else apart from the changes I did in SPRO?
    Thanks

    Arvind,
Have you migrated your template to 7.0 ? you cannot use a 3.x template as the default for  a 7.0 template... unless you are using the EP6.0 iView / ABAP stack for running your queries on the web...

  • BEx Web - Inserting Tabs with multiple Web Templates

I encounter much difficulty to find consistent information on how to create a Web cockpit (BW3.5) by making use of embedded Web Templates (using web template web item).
    In particular,
    - How to define tab pages?
    - How to insert an HTML document in one of these tab pages or in the body of a single Web template?
I would be glad if you could give me links to helpful documentation or share your own experience.

    Hi,
I can`t find the BW Expert coding, too.
    But try out following coding.
This example template contains 4 tabs
    1) Query (assign a Query to DP1)
    2) Query View (assign a view to DP2)
    3) Template (assign a template ID)
    4) Template (0ANALYZER)

  • Disable link of BEX 3.5 query web template

    Dear All,
we migrated all BEX queries from 3.5 to 7.x. Since our users use the BEX queries via web template, most of then have the web template links of old 3.5 queries saved as bookmarks in their browser.
Is there a way to disable this link server side, in order to force the user to update theyr link with the new one of BEX 7.x query web template?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    > You may delete all 3.X bookmarks. The standard 3.X bookmark administration can be found in transaction RUNSCHED.
All below options mean, that you also cannot use the Broadcaster anymore !
    > You may deactivate service /sap/bw/BEx in SICF. Users will get an ICF error message (Service not found).
    > You may create your own handler on ICF service sap/bw/BEx, providing an appropriate message for users.
    > Your can create your own redirect/logon/error page on this service.
    > Another very drastic option would be to switch off service HTTP(S) in your ICM. In this case, no web applications are available via that service on the system anymore.
