Bex Error - RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE

Hello,
We have a user who keeps running into the following error in Bex.  She receives this error when she tries to change a date on a query.  It usually takes approximately 10 minutes to fail on her.  I have searched SDN and have not found any posts that are specific to her situation.  We are using GUI version 620, bw version 3.5.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Charla

  • BEX Error, Explorer.exe has caused a problem and needs to close

Whenever, i click on My Computer on my laptop it opens up fine , but after closing My Computer, i get the message "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and it asks me to try to fix the issue by searching online.
When i click on the details i get the below message :
      Problem Event Name: BEX
      Application Name: Explorer.EXE
      Application Version: 6.1.7601.17567
      Application Timestamp: 4d6727a7
      Fault Module Name: bho.dll_unloaded
I am using Windows 7 Pro, SP1. I have scanned my computer using latest McAfee and it couldn't find any virus. Also, i tried booting from Win 7 DVD and tried doing a repair, but still the same issue.
This started 2 days back  suddenly . I am able to browse and do other things, this issue occurs only when i click on My Computer from my Desktop or go to Start-->Computer, either of the two. Can anyone tell me how to fix this issue?

    From the link below:

    right click on my computer
    go to properties
    click on advanced system settings
    under performance, click settings
click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
click Add, browse to the executable file for the program and add it.
In your case you would add explorer.exe.

  • Displaying BEx Error Messages in WebI

    Hi
Is it possible to have the BEx error messages displayed in a WebI Report?
We have various scenarios where an error message is returned from customer exit variables, which is displayed nicely in the browser if the BEx query is executed, but is not shown at all when the same query is run in a WebI document.
Is there a way to get this done?
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
a very good suggestion of course, but sadly missing from the XI3.1 integration scenario.
My understanding is that the BW OLAP BAPI (as used externally by WebI, via MDX universes) does not surface these error messages natively .. so this warning isn't sent to the front-end
To some extent, this problem also remains in BI4.0 where the JCo error-handling still isn't fully captured between APS DSL Bridge and the BW BICS API . (unless low level tracing is enabled)
would be interesting to know what tips might be out there in the ecosystem, but i haven't seen any match winners to date.
    Regards,
    H

  • M93p+HD8570+Win7+KB267038/IE10: WMP crashes with BEX error playing AVI

Apparently this one's been out and known about for a while, but I just ran into it this week while finishing up the custom software install on a newly received M93p with Windows 7 Pro x64, which also included the AMD HD8570 graphics upgrade.  Driver for the HD8570 (OEM) is provided by Lenovo, not by AMD.  This is not a retail AMD card, but a Lenovo-provided OEM upgrade of an AMD card, and the drivers are only available from Lenovo.
Turns out Windows Media Player 12 on Win7 with the AMD HD8570 graphics on the M93p cannot play AVI files now, instead crashing with a BEX error.
Turns out this is caused by a Microsoft update KB2670838 in conjunction with certain AMD graphics and machine chipsets (Q87 on the M93p), which apparently includes the discrete HD8570 and the M93p.  There is a discussion of this problem on Sevenforums in this thread, as well as in other places on the Internet.
Unfortunately, KB2670838 is also tied to the Windows Update that delivered IE10.  So if you selectively UNINSTALL the KB2670838 update (which DOES eliminate the BEX error in WMP when playing AVI files) you also trigger the backout of IE10 which reverts back to the originally delivered IE8... which is probably undesirable for most of us.  So while you now CAN play AVI files again, you're sadly back to IE8.
Also, the most recent Windows Update to IE11 in Win7 also retains KB2670838, so really any "current" version of IE beyond IE8 with this particular AMD hardware is going to see this BEX crash when WMP plays AVI files.  There simply is no way to selectively uninstall KB2670838 by itself, while retaining IE10 or IE11.
Rumor has it that MS is "working on a fix", but for the moment it is obviously not publicly available.
That's the story.  Just wanted to share what information I now am aware of.
If you do want to install IE10 or IE11 on Win7 and with the M93p and HD8570, then your temporary "solution" in this particular hardware/software configuration is to instead use some other media player program when wanting to play an AVI that you would otherwise use WMP for.  For example, the English version of the excellent Pot Player is a superb alternative, as it plays EVERYTHING!!

I am having almost exactly the same problem with Lightroom 4 and now, with Lightroom 5.
I was able to import .NEF photos, .PEF and .RW2 RAW formats from the folders already on my external RAID harddrive. However, I was unable to import video from the same folders. My problem is exactly like the one ntreuter was having -- I can sometimes get a few video files to import, but then the import process runs for a very long time, and I get an popup error message "There was a problem importing the video".
When I try to "syncronize folder", the same thing happens. I am unable to import any video and the process ends with the popup error message "There was a problem importing the video".  Sometimes I am also unable to upload photos because the import process crashes because of video files.
This is crazy. I've searched online and there are a number of reports of this problem, but no clear solution at all.
    My system:
    Lenovo W520
    2.20 gigahertz Intel Core i7-2720QM
    16 gigs RAM
    64 kilobyte primary memory cache
    256 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    6144 kilobyte tertiary memory cache
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (4 total)
    Hyper-threaded (8 total)
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family [Display adapter]
    NVIDIA Quadro 1000M [Display adapter]
Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem are greatly appreciated!

  • Newest update to Firefox Crashes with BEX error code

Updated Firefox to newest version. Upon restarting Firefox it crashes with BEX error code. Deactivated all anti-spyware, removed all traces of Firefox and did a new re-install, and tried to open in Safe Mode but it still crashes upon start with same error code. (Firefox only runs on initial install but upon restart always crashes) Attempted to find an older version of firefox but can not find older version. I do not see any help related to the severity of my crashes. How do you fix the BEX crash?

When you started in Safe Mode*, did you get the Safe Mode dialog or Firefox never got that far? Did you ever get to your home page?
BEX = Buffer Overflow Exception or Data Execution Prevention (DEP) exception. DEP is a security feature that seeks to prevent exploits that inject program code into Windows memory. Firefox doesn't trigger this error on its own, but add-ons or external programs that tweak Firefox might.
Are you using any special configurations to run Firefox, such as virtual machines or sandboxing?
If not, it sound suspicious. You may want to run some supplemental scans. These two tools are highly regarded:
    Malwarebytes Anti-malware : http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
    SUPERAntiSpyware : http://www.superantispyware.com/
    * I assumed Firefox Safe Mode. Or was it Windows Safe Mode with Networking?

    Hi,
According to this event log, we couldn't identify where the reason of this problem it is.
BEX: Indicates a buffer overflow (/GS) or DEP exception. It indicates that cureent app or hardware driver probably encounter compatibility problem, you can refer to the contents of the link below for more details:

  • BEX Error Crash

Hi, over the last few days (since Fri 6th Dec) I have been experiencing a BEX crash while gaming. The problem suddenly arose and persisted a few days ago with no obvious cause.
    Here is the crash report:
      Problem Event Name: BEX
      Application Name: Smite.exe
      Application Version: 0.1.1868.4
      Application Timestamp: 52a0b68c
      Fault Module Name: StackHash_e981
      Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
      Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000
      Exception Offset: PCH_ED_FROM_ntdll+0x0002E1A4
      Exception Code: c0000005
      Exception Data: 00000008
      OS Version: 6.2.9200.2.0.0.768.101
      Locale ID: 2057

From what I have read, it is a memory problem (or the way data is being written) but I do not know the source of the issue. I have tried restoring my computer to a date that I know it functioned perfectly on, as well as a complete wipe of the computer and
reinstall of everything, however the exact same error occurred. All of my drivers are up to date, and I have tried back-dating them to no avail. I have tried turning of DEP completely, which also failed to solve the problem.
The games that have caused the crashes are SMITE (a moba game) and Battlefield 4 (an fps) which are the only two games I have played, or even had installed over the last month. Nothing else has caused this problem, however I use the computer strictly for
gaming and any word processing required for school. I have not downloaded anything potentially harming, even so this should have been removed when I wiped the computer.
The main thing that I ask is for some insight into what my problem is (BEX error articles are relatively hard to understand), for example, is it a hardware issue etc. or any other fixes that I could try. Any help will be greatly appreciated,
especially as I have purchased a new gaming keyboard which I would like to be able to use to its full potential upon arrival.
Some other info: I built the computer myself over the summer using all new parts, Intel i5-3570k overclocked at 4.2gGHz, msi GTX 760 graphics card, ASUS z77 Extreme6 motherboard, a 128gb SSD, and a 1TB hard drive.

    Hi,
Just as you said, this issue is mostly related to memory, the Event type BEX indicates a buffer overflow (/GS) or Data execution prevention exception.
And the parameter valuable c0000005 and 000000008 in the crash report both Indicate a STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception.
In most processes, the STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception will be an unhandled exception and result in termination of the process.
I suggest you perform a memory check, move the cursor to right edge in screen, click “search”, type “memory”, click “Diagnosing memory problems on your computer”.
Please also test this issue in clean boot mode and Safe Mode to eliminate software conflicts and driver compatibility issues.

    Greetings All
I am doing a CRM upgrade and I get this exact same error.  The DDIC passwords were changed in the 000 client and 001 clients from the default.  (question how do I check the shadow system?)  I updated the parameters in the SAPup via
    set DDICpwd
    set shdDDICpwd
and yet I still get the error
Should I reset the DD pwd to the SAP default then update the SAPup parameter with the new password?
I check the function module  SUBST_GET_UVERS on se37 for execute the test and execute and the table returns with 0 entries under Tables.
    TT_UVERS  Value  0 entries
Is this the problem?  If so how can this be resolved?
Please help, any feedback is much appreciated.
ps...how and where do I find the RFCCHK_INI.LOG file?
